Fairyland PukiPuki Discussion Part 20

Dec 18, 2013

1. I understand your angst!!! I'm climbing the walls waiting for tan Cupid!!

2. LadyCrow the picture of your kids playing made me smile. And that one hanging upside down cracks me up!

FayFl both your girls are lovely! I like the red wig a lot. May I ask where you got it?

and everyone, I feel your pain when it comes to waiting on the tan kids. I am anxious to get my little Madeleine too. But wow, the tan seems to take a lot longer than usual orders do. I am sure it is worth it though. :)

3. LadyCrow: That puki playground is amazing! Your little ones are some lucky girls :)

*joins in the tan puki pining* I've been stalking my email constantly waiting for the much awaited shipping notice.

4. Oh ladycrow! That playground is amazing!

Sent from the Vale of the Faeries!

5. I've been getting impatient too. I order my tan piki at the end of January, so I've still got a bit of a wait. -_-;

6. Thank you, LadyCrow. We're getting ready for our trip to Wisconsin. And I'm having cataract surgery. One eye last week, the other eye this week. I had a feeling you would enjoy meeting Addie. :kitty2

7. Thanks Everyone!!! You're all welcome to bring your little ones to come over and play.

FayFL, i hope all goes well, and you're good as new in no time!! Safe travels!!!

8. The red wig came with Annie when I adopted her. There's no tag on it, so I don't know what size it is or which company it's from. Sorry I can't help.

9. Randomly popping in :)
Probably been asked buuuut.... Pipi owners, what size eyes do your dolls wear? Anyone use 6mm for them?
Thank you ^_^

10. My Maple wears 6mm eyes...if you check back a couple of pages, you can see a few pics. I would take more, but she is off to the spa at the moment!

11. A patient at the hospital had a wee fairy garden/miniature hobbit garden as a 'flower basket'. The chair and table are absolutely perfect size for my wee ones. A garden center, huh? I'm going to be in so much trouble...

12. i didn't manage the tan pp, but i ordered a tan rp and over 4months ago and still no sign of a shipping notice.

the two garden centers near us have joined in and have lots of stuff. it's great since there are no miniature stores anywhere near here!

13. I'm a bit relieved that I'm not the only one still waiting for a tan Puki Puki. It'll be four months this week, and I've been checking my email three times a day for a shipping notice! At least I know she'll be coming with the right eyes and wig, but I want her NOW!!!

14. I placed a tan order on 1/9/14. So I think thats means I am past the 4 month mark by almost two weeks and nothing here either. But i always have something waiting from FLD, so i am never done waiting. Still the Tan is particularly difficult!

15. just snuck into the waiting room and it looks like dde is still waiting for some of their order from the end of december, and hasn't started shipping anything from the beginning of january yet so we are probably still a couple of weeks out.

16. ah, thanks for the update auntbear!

did a tiny bit of shopping for the tan bebbehs - got mystery!puki his wig & (hopeful) eyes.

my darjeeling is a bit more behind in having things of her own - though as I have lots of extras from my DD-Anne tiny, she will @ least have temp clothes and eyes while we figure out exactly what she wants for her look. so my boy will have eyes & hair, but no clothes and my girl will have eyes & clothes, but no hair

17. Ah, man, I feel so guilty for being one of the first to get their tan pukis! But, at the same time, I am overjoyed, haha! I ordered Rayne some CiG eyes a few weeks back and they just shipped last week so I should have them in a few days. My friend just finished making her wigs, a dress, and horns for her. They're beautiful! But, I'll have to wait for shipping from Australia before I can model them for you.

18. BOO HOO!!! I ordered Jan 28th!!!!! I thought I'd have mine for my anniversary (today)

The last puki i want is a Pipi. I don't want to order and wait!!!!

19. you mean there is one you don't have already?!

20. Hahahahaha!!!! There really is a couple i don't have. =)

21. Ooo, she looks lovely in them! Thanks for sharing :D

22. i set out today to crochet a wig cap that would fit perfectly on my pukipuki. i want to make her a wig that isn't hugely bulky and stays put! after spending most of the morning crocheting and frogging and re-crocheting i have a cap that stays on even upsidedown and when she is being shaken!

the next step will be to glue on the alpaca and see if it still stays on with the extra weight, but i am reasonably optimistic. and it was a great way to kill time while wating for a washing machine repairman to show up!

23. Auntbear, I am waiting with baited breath to see how the alpaca gluing works.

Coming out of lurkdom to share some tan! I do have to admit that this wee creature who goes by the name of Crumb (in reference to Viktor Krum of Harry Potter fame) does not belong to me. He is actually my lovely daughter Lubelle's boy. But hey, she's in China until July so I get to play :dance

He introduced himself to Murphy and Nixie today.

The full story is on my blog if you are interested. I'll try to post some better pictures of just Crumb tomorrow. The mosquitoes were so bad outside today I had to quit taking pictures!

24. They made me smile!!! I can't wait to see close UPS of Crumb! Which puki is he?

25. DaisyLady: Bad mosquitoes, huh? One of the benefits living in the high desert/Rocky Mountains is the lack of, thank goodness. I don't miss them. Of course the price I pay is a lack of green.

All your waiting just reminds me that perhaps I'll stick with second-hand dolls, or in-stock from DDE. Marvin's procured that way, although his face came from Australia. Ramune's face is second-hand too, but I'm not sure just how I acquired the body... too many too soon :o

My pipi: Ramune' !

26. She's confirmed that i want Pipi. I too hate the wait!! I wish i could find my Pipi without the wait. Keeping fingers crossed i can!! I want a Pipi....NOW...lol

27. Oh, PHOOEY: Sorry the link didn't work for you! For some reason FL is having problems displaying their images. I just get the blue box with the question-mark inside indicating a broken link, but when I right-click (control-click) on it I can still open the image in a new window…?

ANYWAYS: Yes, the free gift is a PukiPuki/RealPuki sized top hat. It has little raised stars on the brim, but not goggles or etched stripe lines like the one that comes with the RealPuki FullSet. Not to worry, though: On eBay the section for 1/6th size action figures (like 12" G.I. Joe) has many styles of goggles to choose from, and they all fit a PukiPuki's head just fine. They will probably fit the resin top hat, too ;)

28. LadyCrow
I'm glad they made you smile! Crumb is a Piki sculpt. Not one you see very often for sure.

Darkwind Well at least I can enjoy the green from inside for now. I did dig out my bug jacket though.

As promised a closer picture of wee Crumb. There is a picture of his sleeping face on my flickr or blog too.

And Lubelle needs to find the poor guy some hairs :o

29. GAH! Crumb is so cute!
LadyCrow
your gang are such enablers! Lily just added herself to my wishlist! Along with Chuchu... though I don't remember any owner pictures of her.

30. auntbear- I'm dieing to see if that cap works for you! *fingers crossed for luck*

Ahhh more tan pukis showing up, and still not shipping notice about mine yet >,< And January feels like it was so long ago.

31. Ooh, Ooh! Some things to keep in mind, auntbear: Crocheted wig caps stay on so well due in part to the innate stretchiness of the crochet medium. You will definitely loose a lot of stretch if you use glue on large areas…

• Crochet another wig cap before you start glueing!!!
…If something goes wrong, you won't feel the frustration of having to start over from the beginning… :doh

• Put some saran on your Puki's head to protect it, then slip on the wig cap, then glue. The cap won't keep it's proper shape otherwise.

• Try little dots of glue, rather than trying to cover large areas.

I'm rooting for you, too (pun intended)!!

32. He's just too cute!! Pikis are such gentle souls!

Happy to nudge...hehe

Jan was forever ago!!!!

Here's some more enabling...tee hee!

33. Leo, when I bought her faceplate Addie was described as a Chuchu. She's on the right in this photo: (If anyone knows that Addie is a different sculpt, please let me know. Thanks in advance.)

[IMG][/IMG]

34. Addie is indeed all Chuchu, Fay ^_^

auntbear: Looking forward to seeing the progress of the wig project!

DaisyLady: Crumb is such a darling little guy

35.
36. Hey!!! I got a shipping notice from DDE today! This must be my January 9 preorder of 3 Tan Pukipuki and two complete sets of Hands! My other 2 tans were in a later order --- but they must have started shipping January now!!! So excited!!!!!!

Edited to add that Crumb is Delish!!! So adorable!

Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk

37. Five tans!!! Wowza!! Congrats!!! Which ones did you get?

Sent from my SPH-D710BST using Tapatalk

38. Thanks Ladycrow! I think in this shipment will be Ante w/ sleeping face, Pong Pong, and Madelene. And two sets of hands they will all have to share.

Probably a few weeks away from getting Sugar and Rose- which I ordered the day before the end of the event.

None of mine have faceups because I like to do my own.

So they'll probably be faceless for a while cause Ive not done Tan before and will need to test out shades and lip colors and get up my courage to give them a go!
Thanks for asking!

39. That's really awesome auntbear - I hope it comes out well!

40. I'm considering knitting my little Vander (Pukipuki Pong) a wig, using the thrumming technique they use to knit fluff-lined mittens. It is done by knitting un-spun wool into the stitches so the fluffy ends stick out in the inside (of thrummed mittens). I have no idea if there is a similar technique in crochet though.

41. i actually crocheted three wig caps 'cause i am very familiar with good old murphy. but he got me anyway i dyed the caps first to get rid of the stark white so it wouldn't show through so badly and my supposedly preshrunk mercerized cotton shrunk :( no amount of pulling would fix it either. so i am now in the process of dyeing small batches of yarn and waiting for them to dry so i can make new caps.
here is ruby looking very disgruntled and trying to make the yarn dry faster

42. Ohhhhhh nnnnooooooo... what a huge pain! I'm so sorry ;.; I crochet too, and having to start over on a project is one of the most maddening things in the world ;.;

Sent from the Vale of the Faeries!

43. What a pity! Hopefully it dries soon so you can finish their caps. I wish i could crochet, my girls need caps haha.

44. DaisyLady - Crumb is the cutest little guy :)

I changed Pippa's basic hands to these nice ones. I like them much better.
