Fairyland PukiPuki discussion part 13

Mar 27, 2011

    1. I need to go take pictures of Tzi... She's been either in her box or standing on my desk for the past like 3 months. :/

    2. Dropping some spam in! Just got back from a small vacation in SoCal and the friends we were staying at had a super fun dollhouse! The girlies climbed all over it.

    3. It's here! It's here! My Cupid is here! So adorable! :D

    4. She's arrived! My baby's arrived! Right now she's at work learning to tie her shoes ;)

    5. Thanks for the nice comments. I love the dolls. They are such a blast to photograph
Namaro, the biggest doll holding Penny (ante) is the Lttlefee Ante human.
The little one driving the motorbike is a pukifee ante
I have a special love for antes.

    6. sharing again <3 I got this sailor moon wand on ebay and it was the perfect size for Flora. I painted it with transparent red mr. color and metallic gold paints :)

She's also hugging an animal crossing figure Blanca, sadly right after I drew the face on I smudged it allll up >.< ooops!

      Anyway here she is :3

    7. Here's some Tzi spam before I go to the bookstore. :)

    8. I love how she's set up, its so natural a pose!

She's so sweet, and that wand is awesome!

:D I love how her eyes pop there!

    9. Shelly I have that blanca too! Those animal crossing danglers make great toys for our tiny ones :)

Kiyoshi45 What a cute look! Seems Tzi wants to got o the bookstore too?

    10. HeavensChaos thank you so much! These pukis, they just seem to look cute no matter what! I'm addicted, I'm always checking this thread daily for my puki puki fix! haha

Esmee YAY! I love Blanca!! I had to re do the face, this time I wont touch it right away *patience* haha Yeah I know! Those little animal crossing toys are such a great size for the pukipukis!

This is such a feel good thread :3 I changed my Flora's eyes and put on a new wig so I will get some more photos soon. Until then I'm just gonna enjoy everyone elses little ones ^__^

      My Tiny Bald Ballerina!

    12. Congratulations to both of you! :D

OH, she's adorable! I love the wand! I need to track one down now!

She's my absolute favorite of that sculpt.

      Thank you!

OH my goodness, she's adorable. Much cuter than the FL pictures led on.

    13. Shelly I drew a face on mine too, but it seems permanent marker isn't so permanent after all :')

      Sjaan
She has sheeps horns? How cute<3

    14. Me too. :) I must be one of the few people on DoA that actually PREFERS acrylic eyes. Partly because they're cheap, but I just love how they look.

Thank you ^_^ Haha maybe. Unfortunately I didn't take her along.

      :blush Thank you!

    15. I haven't owned much besides acrylics, but I really just like the realistic patterning on Glib acrylics. :) I have a pair of glass eyes for one of my other dolls that I haven't taken her out of since she got a new faceup 'cause I love the way they look now, but in general, I love the "texture" and "dimension" that acrylic eyes can take. :)

    16. I mostly prefer acrylics as well, but I have never owned any urethane eyes so I can't judge there. Unless glass eyes have a lot of detail or come in a color I can't get otherwise, I think that acrylics look and photograph better. Of course as you said, a lot of people don't agree with that, but it's just my opinion. :)

    17. I have found it depends a bit on the doll. I have acrylics in my pukis and I think they look fine and photograph wonderfully most of the time. I also had acrylics in my sd for the longest time, but he has really small eyeholes and his eyes always looked dark. My other sd came with glass eyes in her and looked creepy with them, so I switched the eyes and they both look much better now!

    18. twylight : Thank you so much!! :) I was just trying to find if they had anymore listed on ebay to share, but I don't see any :( Keep an eye out though, seems like you can find almost anything on there! Here's hoping there will be some more on there! Sometimes they have the gold wands from the 1/6 dolls on there, those are perfect puki puki size!

Esmee : oh man >.> that's probably true! I wonder if I'll have to try paint for little blanca's face. I want to try another shot with Flora and blanca! heee

    19. ok >.> two more spams for the day, I managed to get two shots, one with my f14 volks and one alone~
      [IMG]

think I'm gonna try and make some different eyes again, I've still not found the right ones for her!

    20. I so far love acrylic eyes, my favorites have been acrylic and I'm planning acrylic for all my dolls so far. I've only been tempted by one kind of glass eyes, the ginarolos. I don't know why but those just seem so different. But yes! I love acrylic eyes!

    21. Twylight: Thank you! Yeah, Niko is way cuter in person! I talked myself out of her from photos, but when I saw her for real at Think Pink, I just had to have her! The little up-turned nose and freckles just kill me!

Esmee: Yup! I got her fullset, and they came with her! Aren't they darling? I like them white, but I am thinking of painting them a bit to show detail. Just have to order some MSC!!

Shelly: Gah! I love mixed size pics! They are the BEST! Your girls have fab outfits, too! Where did you get those great see-through wings? I love them!

    22. Sjaan: thank you so much!! It's so weird to see my SDs with my Flora shes just so tiny, I still cant get over it! I got the wings on the market place here, apparently they were a limited release from fairyland. I know they still have the same style in white on the site though. :) (at least last time I was there)

    23. aaaaannd a bit more spam... Just finished a red dress for my girl! Que the dramatic lighting!

    24. such a little ballerina! love this pose <3

    25. @Shelly: Ah! You have the special clear blue LittleFee wings! Those are so cool! :) They are just small enough to look good on a Puki, but I haven't tried sticking mine on my Puki yet (I think they would just confuse her).

    26. ooh you have them too? they are so cool! I had to use putty to stick matching magnets to the back but they still work :) awww confuse the little one...its ok its for photos hee heee <3

    27. Shelly: oh, lucky you! maybe i can get the white ones, didn't know they would fit! Not so nice as the clear, though!!

Can't remember if I posted this before, but if anyone here crochet's, this is the website i got the dress pattern from (thought I left some bits out to make it look less... well you'll see): http://www.crochetcraftsbyhelga.com/index.html

    28. Yeah, I was never much into either Darjeeling nor Ante, but those two are great! Ante looks so tough with a minimal face-up, and Darjeeling looks so much better when you draw the attention up to her eyes!

HEY: I think I have that scooter and sidecar set! Is that from a Brats Minis set?

Me Too!! Sometimes I think that acrylic eye designers try harder to make more interesting eyes. Maybe because they know that many doll owners are sort-of biased against them?

    29. More Tzi spam. I like how this picture came out, and I just really love this angle of her face XD
      [IMG]

    30. I do think some of the stigma against acrylic eyes is cost-based. Compared to glass or urethanes...

@Shelly: I just have the white wings, not the clear ones, but I really think the clear ones might suit my Ante Elf better. I named her after the auroras (northern and southern lights) so I think they would look really cool on her! :) My Puki Omi is more of a neon colors girl, so I don't think they would work quite as well. :XD: I guess I could try blushing my white ones and see how they look on her.

    31. oh oh yeah good idea, blushing them would be awesome! <3 You could do aurora like shading, that'd be gorgeous <3

So many cute pukis! I think I am falling for the Niko sculpt, but I already spent all my dolly allowance this year. :(

    33. Those bad, bad dolls won't let me study...

Stop playing! by - Annetta -, on Flickr

I don't remember if you've already meet my new character (sadly she doesn't have a body, why is that we are always missing bodies? I think I need something like 3 pukipuki bodies now. :( ). She's Lambrusco -named after a wine 'cause she totally has that "happy wine" face- and she wants to be a stylist, but she doesn't know how to sew.

    34. sleepy pippin spam!

I always consider selling her sleeping face, but I know i would miss it too much!

    35. Set looks quite comfy without his pants! LOL

I love the boots and the ears! So cute!

I am sorry I don't have any spam to contribute. I think I will take my still unnamed Kanu to work with me tomorrow and see what trouble we get into. Maybe it will lead to spam!

    36. GoodbyeKitty, the little motor car is the littlest pet shop blythe set. It was on clearance at Walmart.

    37. Bunch of cuties ! It's so hard to pick a favorite PukiPuki !

Here is my little one - She has moved on but I still love looking @ her.

    38. here's another shot of Avery from the park the other day.
she's looking awfully grumpy there, but hopefully she'll cheer up since I'm ordering her a bunch of pretty clothes from spampy xD
      [IMG]

    39. He certainly did, but boy did he come together for me when he finally had those pants on!

    40. Gyah. SO much cute Ante spam, it just makes me want mine even more! But at this rate I won't have her until the end of August. :( I guess the good thing about that is that I'll have something to cheer me up because by then I'll proabably be already sick of school. XD

    41. Just popping in to give a preview of Echo's make over ^^ I just finished dyeing and am hanging him up. Turned out a bit darker than I wanted but I'm satisfied :)

My puki Ante arrived this morning, too! :D

    42. GORGEOUS! Reminds me of my old dyed doll. I bet it's beautiful in person. I should dye another doll. haha

    43. Hi

      Wondering if anyone can help...

I'm looking for 8mm eyes for my little-one that have a smaller iris. I've been finding that the ones I've been purchasing / looking at all have the iris a bit too big.
I know that a bigger iris can be cute & make for a younger look, but I think that sometimes there's just not enough white around the iris for my liking.

      Many thanks :) x

    44. I'm always amazed at the courage of doll owners who take apart their doll and dye it. So much potential for things to go wrong. Yours looks absolutely amazing! Looks good enough to EAT!

    45. Try using 6mm! I have schoepfer (I think I spelled that correctly) flatback paperweight glass eyes in ...oh, wow, three of my puki faces. What face mold is your little one? I can provide example photos if I happen to have the same mold.

Echo's lovely! I adore that color, and can't wait to see him when you're done. Is he a Flora or a Piki? It's hard to tell from this angle.

    46. I heard sueding helps preserve the joints....wondering if any member who has dyed their puki (or any other doll) think hot glue sueding would do? Anyone have any experience hot glue sueding their pukis? They're so small, I'm guessing it may be a bit difficult o.o

Call Me Stephanie Thanks! If you do, please post photos! I haven't seen many dyed pukis haha

Wovenflame It helps to have a helper or two ;) I had my sister do the timing while I was dyeing the parts.

Lyzrd Thanks! I'm thinking of blushing his body while I'm at it and have to do the face up for his 3 faces, so it may take a while to finish. Echo is a Flora :)

      Here's Echo before being dyed.

Haru & my new Ante are waiting patiently for their face ups, too. I'm running out of MSC so I'm doing everything all at once to help save any wasted MSC.

    47. hyperchi I can't wait to see the finished doll! At first glance I thought you had somehow made a mold and then done their faces in chocolate! Wouldn't that be delicious.

    48. Wow! Now that came out nice! Can't wait to see him strung and all put together. And congrats on the new Ante!

    49. Lyzrd Thanks fo the info. I've tried some 6mm already, but they were too small and didn't fit properly.
I will have a look at schoepfer eyes. :)
The little-ones I have are Ruby, Lily, Sugar and Niko.

hyperchi you're so brave dyeing Echo & he's turned out amazing! Can't wait to see him finished! :D

    50. Aha, a Lily! Here's a shot of my Lily, Theodore, with his Schoepfer eyes:

    51. Ahh Theodore! I luffs him. :aheartbea

    52. ^_^ Theodore luffs you too, kadepie!

We'd love to see some more shots of your Dulcie...

    53. I need to do some with Dulcie and Kanu but here's Dulcie and a different buddy :)

    54. Lyzrd ~ Theodore is gorgeous!! His eyes are lovely! I'm going to have a look right away! Thank you so much! :)

    55. Sorry to spam and run, but Pippa, - you might also like to have a look at Hand Glass craft eyes. Yu can get them at safrindoll, or through ginarolo. I have 8mm in my lily, and I find the fit really nicely, and the eye sizes seem to run a little smaller than other eyes. Here's an old shot of Whittaker with them in. I also have a sugar, so if you like I can try them in her to see what they are like, bt I won't have time to do that until a little later. (am currently organising a double-whammy birthday party for my boys)

Ruka finally came home today, so we decided to drop in and say "Hello!" with a picture from his first photoshoot. :D

    57. alexisbears Thank you so much for the additional info :) Whittaker is gorgeous! Her eyes are perfect! The iris is in such good proportion to the rest of the eye and they look like they fit beautifully. :) I will have a look at HGC eyes too.

Best of luck with the party! And a very 'Happy Birthday' to your boys!

    58. hyperchi, that color looks awesome, good job on the dyeing!

      Lyzrd, Theodore is so cute!

      kadepie, such a cute photo!

      alexisbears, those eyes are lovely

Gibbet, Poooong! I love Pongs. Ruka is adorable and I love the hat!
