Dear Ruthiepooh, oh my goodness, she is adorable. Is she the same size as the Lati Yellow or the Lati White? I love her dress.
@LadyMadrigal I'm very surprised to hear Pukifee aren't the supreme posers I made them out to be. Your picture is funny but true. And something Crowley might do... Has anyone wired their Pukifee?
To be honest most people make Fairyland dolls seem like the ultimate posers. They pose decent enough, not better and not worse than others. Although in case of Pukifee their big heads don't make things easier and it wouldn't be the first Pukifee that has one leg shorter than the other. Don't let that deter you from getting one though. They're extremely addictive and adorable. I'm using all my willpower not to buy more. I haven't wired mine yet since the ones I currently own are all blessed with a good body so they currently stand, sit and pose well enough without sueding or wiring.
I really haven’t seen any better posers than the fairyland dolls. I love their fluid joints, while others needs to be pulled or clicked in place. The pukifee poses as well as can be expected with her chubby short limbs and a big head. They have a way to go on how to move the head perhaps? I’d love it if they could look up, tilt it and keep it there. Only the petite jiwoo I had could do that though.
My Fairyland tinies are the best posers out of all my little ones. They're not perfect, but they're an absolute joy to pose and photograph. It's just little things you have to figure out how to work around. I've never felt a need to wire my Pukifees, although I've tried it with a couple of other tinies. The only things I've ever found I need to do are with their heads. The little "peanut" piece that sits atop the neck has a little "F" stamped in it - which I think means "front" - but I've found that turning that around to the back makes their heads far more stable. That and a little silicone kip tucked under the peanut itself. ETA - I think the ability to tilt their heads all the way back depends at least partly on the sculpt. Maddy and Crowley (Mio and Luna, respectively) both can, but Aziraphale and Bill (Jude and Cony) can't.
I’m loving seeing all these gorgeous pukifee’s ❤️ I must say I expected some amazing posing from these dolls from all the pose photos I’d seen, but they’re wobbly as anything! Yes they can hold a pose, but it takes a bit of persistence which I didn’t expect! I haven’t played with my girls in a while but I’m hoping to get them out for photos soon, though I did have fun playing with photoshop since I decided to try the free trial here’s an old photo of my Primrose that has been heavily edited today as it’s so damn fun to do, I love the porcelain doll look which is why she’s holding her spare head
Thank you for reading my FIRST EVER DOA post! I have been a Pukifee collector for a long time now. I adore their cuteness, portable size, and lower costs. I have considered adding larger dolls to my collection, but I like my dolls to have a uniform look (same height, similar wigs, color coded outfits, you know). I'm that guy: irked by the fact that Lati Yellows and Pukifees aren't the same exact size. For some reason, I like symmetry. Don't get me wrong, there are Minifees & larger that I have adored, some are even on my wishlist (that Alicia mermaid will always be on my list lol) I just prefer the tinies. Some larger faceplates that have stood out to me in the past were the Realfee Mari and Littlefee Cygne plates. Cygne has facial features that would look great on a smaller doll. Mari was an extremely popular design that could stand for a re-release in a different size (Like Ante or Luna for instance). I pondered the thought and decided that nothing is accomplished by just thinking about it. I've emailed companies with product suggestions in the past, but can it be done for BJD ideas? I found Fairyland's questions & concerns email and sent them the following message: "Hi, I am contacting from the USA with good wishes and an idea: Please consider releasing a Pukifee Cygne or a Pukifee Mari in the future. These faceplates would make great additions to the Pukifee series. Personally, I think these dolls would be a hit among Fairyland fans, and if they were ever released I would be glad to add them to my collection." I felt silly. My initial thought: I'll never get a response for something as silly as this. Well, I was wrong. Turns out I got a response rather quickly. It read: "Dear Amaris, Thank you for your interest in our FairyLand dolls. Your interest for pukiFee Cygne and Mari has been translated and passed onto our creative team for possible consideration." The message continued, but you get the idea If this becomes a reality, you read it here first. Moral of the story: Don't just think or dream about what you want, go out and get it. Have a wonderful Thursday everyone!
It's just a standarised message every company use.... Do you know how many messages FL prolly receives daily about this or that doll? ._." "Moral of the story: Don't just think or dream about what you want, go out and get it" No, moral of the story: now you think they will take into consideration your single request, when I'm pretty sure they only are interested in dolls that are overrequested.
Every company is mainly interested in whatever sells the most copies because they have to be to stay in business. And now in the Covid-19 crisis even more so because they are all more or less fighting for their (companies') lives. You can be a starving artist creating more or less for your own pleasure, but you cannot be just about the art or about individual consumer's wishes if you want to be a business. @amaris.aisling I am glad you had such a positive experience with FLs customer service, and that is what counts, even if this is a standard reply you got. And in the end one never knows, right?^^
@amaris.aisling Standard message or not, they replied and that's a nice thing! I love your positive attitude and the attitude it never hurts to ask! I also prefer your moral! You will achieve and enjoy life so much more with your positivity!
The thing about that is, for a doll to be over requested, it has to be requested. I’m guessing that you’re trying to warn people against getting their hopes up, which is understandable, but I feel like this request is a first step, and this post is a second, because if these are sculpts people want other sizes of (I have no idea, I don’t go below SD size) others may also request them. I can’t help but wonder if that was part of why a feeple60 boy was (re)released, for instance, because based on the thread, I can assume that was very frequently requested. Perhaps, though I feel like they had her in the works long before the demand, that could have factored into the fairy line seahorse Scarlett release as well—again, all conjecture and speculation here—because I know a bunch of people who loved Sia and wanted her in f60 size. One message likely won’t persuade a company to do something like that, but one message can also get others thinking and requesting as well.
Hate to burst your proverbial bubble, but this is a canned message. I've received the same exact message, word for word, twice now; once when I suggested that they should bring back the Ruth sculpt for Minifees and more recently when I suggested they should add the Karsh sculpt to the Fairyline a la cart. Both of these were made many, many years ago however and neither one has come to fruition. That being said, though, Fairyland does listed to customers; for example, they did bring back their Feeple65 line of dolls for a limited period due to all of the requests to do so. I just don't want you to get your hopes up and eagerly check their website multiple times a day to see if they've released the doll of your dreams yet. Just because they responded doesn't mean they'll do what you want them to, but as many have already stated, it certainly doesn't hurt! Keep the hope alive!
I would love to see both of these sculpts available for the Pukifee size! While it’s possible they won’t, I think it’s nice of them to possibly take ideas into account! I can’t wait to see if this turns out!
@AleishaJade Your little Primrose is lovely! Ante is such a beautiful sculpt. I would love to see more of her little room behind her. My Pong is still on her way and tracking is not updating. Argh. So frustrating! Sorry for the double post but -- she is here! No box opening thread this time as there was no box. She came as a mummy wrapped essentially in tons of bubble wrap and tape. All is good though, she arrived safe and sound. Can't wait to take more pictures of her tomorrow when there is light. I am looking for a name with a T as her sister is a character called Tegan. Does anyone have an idea? I am very happy with my little Pongpong girl!
@El BJD Thank you, I love Theo! It fits perfectly. Here she is all ready to play. Or rather sleep because it is late and she is in her jammies. Though it looks like she is much too happy and talkative to go to bed. She makes such a nice toddler. I already wired little Theo but she is still a terrible poser. Still, her face is pure undiluted joy!
If you bought her 2nd hand it might be better to just tighten her string. Or if she is new from Fairyland she might still be a little tight?
@Ruthiepooh I bought her secondhand. She is oddly kicky, yet floppy. The tension seemed okay when I wired her. Hmm. Also, she seems to have the leg problem, so she definitely needs to get some shoes for stability. Does anyone have any recommendations?
I've got a quick sizing question if someone can help me. I'm preparing for Halloween already and I want my little pukifee Mio, Darcy, to be dressed as Anna from Frozen. Anyone know if the Disney Animators' Mini doll clothes fit?
Your pongpong is so cute! I tried the mini cinderella animator dress on my pukifee, there's no chance unfortunately terrible photo, but here's their room, it's specifically the twins room (plain white dress & comic blue dress) but all the girls hang out there, I'm planning on redoing their room soon!
@AleishaJade Love their room! So many plushies and toys! Theo would like to come visit and play with your girls, I am sure.
Dear AleishaJade, the children are adorable and so well behaved (smile). I love the room you have created for them.
Was reading something about Pukifee posing... as with anything, isn't it a matter of patience and practice?
How long did it take? I think I‘ll be needing some years, that’s it if I had patience which I haven’t. But your little acrobat looks fantastic and he seems to be very proud of himself.
Perhaps five to ten minutes. I've done it with most of my Pukifee, though those with less in the wig department do it better. I think it's possible to do something similar with every Fairyland doll of every size - the biggest I've managed is LTF, particularly since you need particular hands to be able to do it with.
That’s about the time I need for my Pukifee to sit or to stand. There’s for sure a very long way before me. But your picture will spur me on to achieve something similar - presumably in a few years.
Interesting - my Pukifee will stand really easily, just make sure their feet are flat and a little bit apart and set them down, and they will stand for months. (Quite a few of mine are always standing on bookshelves) @TheDoctor Thanks
Ha, it’s not my Julchen, it’s me. I’m somewhat clumsy and I‘ll always fear to hurt her if I’m to hasty. But like you said: practice and patience, practice and patience...
You can get FL dolls to do some amazing things, once you get the hang of it. TeaPartyRevolution is very good at posing her kids. Hawk takes a turn in front of the camera Hawk by clochette62, on Flickr
That’s really a perfect outfit for a star wars fan. I especially like the colors and Hawks looks like he‘s part of the movies. Terrific.
Thank you both. I normally do not care for the more serious/sad faces on tinys, but Frozen has been one of the exceptions. The way his eyes are narrowed just got me...very much an annoyed dude. He's also one of the few that I think looks best wigless. None of the wigs I tried with him really brought out the wonderful "get off my lawn" attitude that his baldness helps convey. He's marvelous.
You’re right, his baldness fits him perfectly, he looks very confident and I don’t know why but there’s even elegance in his looks.
If anyone is interested, Denver Doll has just restocked a limited number of Pukifees. I figured I'd better order while I had the chance and am awaiting a basic Rosanna. It will be nice to receive a doll that doesn't have to wait in quarantine to enter the country.
Roseanna arrived a few days ago in the middle of a heat wave. I renamed her Summer because of it. The wig I ordered for her arrived only after I took photos and put all my props away, so she's wearing one from my stash. Here she is, collecting seashells.
@El BJD and @TheDoctor - Thank you both very much. I wish they had offered her with her full set. As I remember, the dress was cute and I absolutely loved the roller skates.
I just found 2 pair of pkf ice skates, 2nd hand. Now you make me wonder if they can somehow be temporarily converted to roller skates! Hmmmm! Hope they arrive in the next week or so!
Ooh, lucky you! The only ice skates I've ever seen fit Realpuki and Pukipuki, but are shown only with Realpuki parts. I'm tempted to try them on Pukifee to see if they fit. If that's what you ordered, I wouldn't think they could be altered--they're solid resin.
The ones I'm getting look like soft tops and metal blades, like the pair I have for one of my Littlefees. I'll post a pic when they arrive.
