Fairyland Pukifee discussion part 28

Mar 24, 2020

    1. So cool to see both Pio and Cupid! When FL added Cupid as a PukiPuki I was tempted, but thought I'd rather have him as PukiFee size. And as I was about to order Pio just before FL discontinued the PukiFees, I now caved in and ordered a tan Pio and a normal skinned Cupid. I hope it won't take too long for them to arrive. I only have one Pukifee (PongPong) and he'll be happy to get some new friends.

    2. [IMG]Tuppence 05/24 by Ali MacTavish-Riach, on Flickr

A wee photo of my Tuppence, my Pong, and a friend. I have a few more photos but haven't processed them yet and laptop is about to run out of battery (ugh I hate laptops....what's wrong with a good old-fashioned chunky tower system pc...). I only noticed while looking at the pictures I took that her faceup is cracked, I probably rushed the sealant when I did it years ago so it's just as well I'm planning to redo it.
Tuppence will get moved onto the Vanilla I'm waiting for and this Pong will become a different character....or at least that's the plan. We all know plans tend to go out of the window when the dolls actually arrive and we realise they have their own ideas!

Oh my goodness @Xanadu Dolls those props, especially that trike, are fabulous! Pio and Cupid are such cuties too although personally I've never been too struck on Cupid, I think I prefer it as a Pukipuki. Don't get me wrong, I think all PKF are cute as hell it's just that some appeal to me more than others.

@JinCIncy she looks worn out poor little dear!

    3. I bought them years ago and haven't seen them anywhere since. So many have asked where I got them and I think I found them at a doll / teddy show. All my Radio Flyer props I found on Ebay.
I have so many PF's it's not funny, I think I'm addicted. I think you should definitely get a Cupid though, perhaps you can catch up with me. :dance:hug:

    4. Congratulations! It's nice to see someone else has caught the bug! :mwahaha Hope they arrive soon and we can see photos of your trio.

Tuppence is a cutie, though I don't have this one myself. I agree with you about laptops, the battery always runs out at the most inconvenient times. I shall look forward to seeing what you do with both PF's.

I'm glad you like them, one can never have enough props! That's okay, we all have our own favourites, it would be a boring world if we all like the same things.

    5. Could I ask what's a good size for wig and eyes for mio or just general pukifee, please?

    6. I use a 5-6” wig and 10mm eyes on my Pukifee, this is my Mio.

    8. Hi, I don't know if it's the right place to post it but does someone have a picture of a pukifee ante in tan skin tone with the company faceup ? A friend saw a doll on secondary market that is mentioned as legit but the seller said she can't find the box and CoA. She sent my friend a copy of an email from denver doll confirming the order for a tan pukifee ante with company faceup and she is from 2015 apparently. I don't know what company faceup looks like on a tan pukifee doll and couldn't really find pictures online so if you have one, that could be helpful for me to make sure the doll is indeed legit
      Thanks by advance :)

    9. I have a tan Ante with company faceup but this one is from 2023. If you need help verifying legitimacy of a doll that you are looking at buying you can post in Ask the Moderators.

    10. @NineOneThree Thank you for the picture, and the tip, I had no idea we could all the moderators directly, so it might be helpful if I do that !
Your doll is adorable by the way :love

Can i have a shower of Vanilla tan pictures, please? It will help me to wait :love

    19. Did anybody order any Pukifees when Fairyland added more molds to their selection in the spring?
When Fairyland released Pukipukis and included Cupid, I was tempted but said that I'd rather have Cupid in Pukifee size. And when Fairyland added new Pukifee molds to their a la carte list, they included Cupid, and I just had to get him. And I had been just about to order Pio fullset when Fairyland suddenly put all Pukifees on hiatus, so I decided I must now have him, too, though the fullset was no longer available.

The two Pukifees arrived today. Now they need names and clothes because they are just wearing borrowed clothes for now.

    20. @spih Congratulations on the new arrivals! Oh my, your new cupid is so adorable. That little face just oozes character.:)

    21. I already had these, so didn't need any more. Yours look so cute in their borrowed clothes, especially Cupid. :love One can never really have enough Pukifees.

    22. So excited, my Ena and Vanilla have arrived. Still got to pay the ransom fee in order to collect them but they’re here! First time ordering directly from Fairyland as I normally go through dealers.

      • x 4
    23. Congratulations, @Blodeuwedd - can't wait to see your new arrivals!

I was tempted, but I decided against it, because I already ordered both RP and a PP... I decided to be sensible and finish dressing the dolls I have.

So here's a picture of my PKF family at the moment. I cheated and made a composite picture:

The boys all have headbacks that I bought on the MP, and Lati yellow bodies.
      - Nix - Spring 17 event faceplate (his headback is blue, because that's all I had)
      - Shiloh - Duck event faceplate
      - Rampion - RA event faceplate

      The girls are:
      - Shanti - Duck event faceplate on the only PKF body I was ever able to find second-hand
      - Mimosa (Mimi for short), who is of course an Ante, and my very first PKF
      - Moana, a tan Cony

A few of them could use a better face-up, but at least they all have shoes and wigs. My plan for this year was to get all my dolls wigs, shoes and clothing, and I'm actually almost there. (With 70+ dolls in total, that's quite a task, but it's a labour of love!)

      • x 7
    24. They are all very cute. I don't remember seeing those duck plates before. Were they made long ago?

    25. Thank you! If I remember correctly, the duck plates were from a summer event - it must have been somewhere around 2009-2011 or so? They were fairly new and easy to find on the MP when I was new to DoA but it's been years since I last saw one...

    26. I just purchased my Pukifee Mio and I feel like I'm reliving my younger self's dream. Would you recommend purchasing directly from Fairyland? I've only used DenverDoll as it felt easier to get to Ireland.

    27. Congratulations on Mio, I have one and I love the sculpt. I prefer Denver Doll myself because I’m in the US. Also when I order direct from companies in Korea my post office makes delivery difficult.

      • x 2
    28. Aww thank you! I thought it might’ve just been because I’m in Ireland and anytime I’ve bought anything from Asia, it’s been such a process to receive it- thought it was just an ‘us’ problem, it's so sad . So grateful for DenverDoll!

    29. I found the experience to be much the same as ordering through DDE with the exception of there being less temptations for add ons. Fairyland’s own website doesn’t really have a great selection of clothing, etc for their tinies so I just ordered the two dolls, plus extra hands and a sleeping plate for Vanilla. Shipping was not too different price wise. What was different however was the customs fee, it was about half of what I’d expected. I’d certainly order directly again if it’s just the doll I’m wanting.
My main reason for using dealers in the past, apart from selling additional items such as clothing, is that they (should) pre-check the stock when they get it and then ship to you hopefully catching any breakages, casting flaws or problems in the process. There’s always a risk something will happen during shipment from them but should that occur it’s easier to solve, hopefully, without a language barrier. However as my tastes changed I got braver and recently began ordering directly.

Oh I forgot to add I live in the Highlands of Scotland which actually gets lumped in with Ireland as far as certain courier companies are concerned. Even though where I am is quite clearly attached to the mainland and not even in a rural area, had they bothered their arse to look at a map, we still get treated as though they had to get NASA to send up a shuttle in order to deliver anything and charge us extra for the privilege too!

    30. :XD:
Hahahaha yeah that sounds about right! Thank you so much for the info, was really helpful! Like you say, following progression of the hobby, I will grow the courage to go direct (and maybe once I move too!)
      :XD:

    31. @spih - congrats on your dolls! I LOVE Cupid as a PKF - I have a Pukipuki Cupid, but now I think I need a PKF size, lol!

@Fairy Milliner - your doll family of PKF is fantastic! I love your ducks. I had forgotten they had the faceplate in this size! I have one in LTF size that someone would have to pry out of my cold dead hands, who finally has a body. The PKF duck face is just as cute as the LTF! Good luck dressing all your dolls! :kitty1 I am literally in the same exact boat - my army of naked dolls daily haunts me. :huh?:

@xPinkFeathersDollsx - congrats on your dollie purchase! :XD:

    34. How adorable! Such a cute photo. Yes, welcome indeed!:)

    35. Thank you so much!! Just a quick pic since I haven't had a chance to get a proper photo shoot yet! :D

Aw thank you!! She's just like me, likes the vintage style (:

Thank you both for being so welcoming!! ♡

    36. Welcome!! She's very cute. :love

    37. She is very cute. I love her outfit and the photo.

    38. Me too! Marley is such a wee cutie <3

    39. @eclectic.doll oh my goodness, such a cutie! You know until I never really liked that sculpt until I saw this photo. What you've done has changed my mind completely!

@NineOneThree once again thank you soooo much for suggesting Ena as a replacement for my LTF Rendia. They're so alike sculpt wise, absolutely perfect. Haven't started on her yet as I have other dolls that need their faces finished but I will eventually get around to doing hers quite soon, she's kind of jumped the queue a bit. Meantime here's a photo I took yesterday of the two of them so you can see how similar they are.

    41. @spih Fascinating names for your little ones, and I truly enjoyed reading the meaning of Kaamos. Such a wonderful idea for naming this adorable pair. And your sewing for this small size is phenomenal!:)

    42. I have a second artist painted Pukifee, Luna this time. I think Luna and Mio look like they could be twins.

    45. It is difficult to wait, I’m waiting on Mio in Littlefee size :)

    46. Hope everyone had time to rest over the holiday period!!!

Hate to be impatient or really annoying, but could anyone tell me if they’re experiencing a longer wait for their little doll? I ordered from DD on Aug 30th and my mio is still ‘processing’. :...(

    47. Did you say DD meaning Denver Doll? I would send a message to them and ask for an update because I ordered a Littlefee in September and got her in November.

    48. If it is DD is Denver Doll, I second emailing them. There is a chance that they may have emailed you if there was a problem and it could have gone to spam, I experienced this last year with a LittleFee. They are always helpful and will let you know what's going on with your little one.

    49. Thank you!!! Yeah I will email Denver Doll. I’ve held off for a while because I really don’t want to seem like a Karen or anything but hopefully will hear back

    50. Any way to fix photos?

    51. Not sure what happened, but over the course of the last 4 months I've picked up two more PKF. :whee:
      So I officially have a 'handful' I guess. :D
got some work to do on a few faces and one becoming a hybrid...

    53. All of them are so cuuutee! I especially love the elf ears on the pukifees. My PKF Bonnie has them.

    54. Weeeeeee! I’ve just put my holy-grail on layaway with DDE. I was just browsing at 2o’clock in the morning (as you do!), in the ‘in stock’ PukiFees and there she was. A tan skinned Zoe with face-up. Last couple of times I’ve looked they only had blue/grey skinned dolls without face-ups. I tried my best to ignore her but I think she was calling to me so I’ve been and gone and ordered her on 4 month layaway. It was the only way I could afford her but I am totally thrilled. She will arrive (I hope) just before Christmas so she has agreed to be called Holly. I’m just so exited!
      Yes, I totally agree!

    55. It's happened. I've been in the hobby for over a decade and I now have a broken doll and I'm heartbroken. :...(

I took off her hands to change her clothes and there was a bit of resistance (not unusual for her) and then it like just.. popped off, the magnetic port for her hands!! Has this happened to anyone before? I don't even know how to fix it.. it's so tiny and thin. :(

    56. I had luck getting replacement parts a few years ago when one of my minifee that had gotten damaged. I worked with DDE since I purchased through them, and was able to order just the pieces I needed to replace. If my memory serves me right, I've heard others say, that with proof of purchase (COA only?), Fairyland worked with them for replacement parts. Your mileage may vary, of course, but it never hurts to politely ask.
