Fairyland MiniFee MNF discussion part 68

Congrats, Klaw. Raven is really pretty! Fairyland was posting some pictures on Instagram while they were getting ready to ship Raven full sets and it did not look like there were that many boxes. I’m wondering too, if she did not sell well.

I’m definitely not regretting my choice in picking her up. In fact, I ended up ordering another body from DDE in WS because I want to have out both Raven’s human head and her Calavera head. I guess they ended up becoming two separate characters in my mind. For anyone curious, here’s a picture of the Calavera head painted taken by the light of my Christmas tree before it went away. Fairyland did such an amazing job on the face up.

Thank you I wondered that myself but honestly mine has soo much blue on her its the same thing that put me off my Ingrid and made me sell her I just couldn't handle all the blue lol

 

I agree its the blue that i mostly dislike but also the darkness of her too to me she should be more natural

Thank you for sharing the photo. She is so pretty, the Calavera head was what got me and I'm really excited to see it! I got my Raven in tan, so I will definitely need to post photos of her when she arrives - only a few more days.

It’s gonna be really neat to see her in the tan. I was really torn when ordering her between the white and gray. We have a Layla in the house that’s gray and the color is so pretty. I ultimately went with the white because I wanted her more skeletal looking. I definitely want to see her in all the skin tones though. Please do post pictures when she gets here!

I custom ordered the dress for her from @AyuAna and found the jewelry Etsy for Tonner dolls—the earrings are hot glued to her ears. But I made the crown myself, and also the wreaths for the candles. The background is print to order marigold fabric wrapped around cardboard and placed behind the removable shelves.

Here’s a photo of the whole ofrenda — top shelf, my mother’s family, middle, my father’s family, bottom, my husband’s family.

It’s not kept up year-round.

Raven arrived today! Her faceup is very shimmery, but she's lovely. I started to worry when I got the shipping notice that I had ordered the calavera head in tan like her body, but honestly it is so beautiful as it is. The white head would have looked strange on the tan body. Her full outfit has so many straps, even with warnings I was not prepared. Will get some pictures of her soon.

 

I have acquisitioned a light box! Touma helped me test it out.

I never expect anything cheap from this shop, but they just... in some way always manage to get a rare doll with good faceup from many doll company. Able to just choose a doll you like and bring him/her back home right away is really a great experience that sometime win over the anxious of waiting with unknown future from pre-order.

If you happen to visit tokyo, it's a good place to stop by, they won't get angry even though you don't buy anything

I lucked up and found someone on Instagram selling most of the Minifee Maya Valkyrie set and it arrived just ahead of the snowstorm we got last night and this morning. I bought it for Artemis, my Minifee Rheia and I am absolutely in love with how she looks in it. It’s such a cool old full set. I am genuinely just impressed with all the little details.

Very soon I believe. There's a leak from official that this time they will be dragon girl (fairyline)

Other detail should coming soon.

I'm not a fan of dragon part, but still feel excite when it's a fairyline release

Gotta check out if I want to join a split for any parts.

 

The next event will be a collab with Adoll Land. They posted that on their new instagram account here. And yes, there seem to be some dragon like parts coming.

 

I'm sure this has to have been asked before, so forgive me... do the magnetic ankles work on older A-line/Moeline dolls?
I know the color will be off and I'm open to some small sanding mods... but I don't want to get it if it's 100% incompatible. Thank you!

Dina is one of my favorite sculpts and honestly the "rotation" thing scares me. The last time it had been YEARS, so I feel a little scared. I have a Dina, but part of me wants to panic buy another just in case they don't bring her back ever or for like another 5 some years. But I just can't go off panic buying dolls like that. Q_Q

 

I think the new-old heads will be around for a while. Since they also temporarily discontinue these head at the end of this month in exchange : Ria / Sia / Rens / Dina / Sirin / Ariel Vampire

@Littlebirdzoom ... Idk. But if Dina isn't popular enough, she might not make it back to the shelf for a long time.

 

I have my Arial vampire, and my Sia boys, and a Sia girl (mnf and f60 Sias) So not as paniced as I was when they temp retired Karsh. (Who I bought in panic with Tika back in the day.)
Not sure my wallet is ready for them bringing back Karsh though as I could love a 2nd of him someday if able to.

 

The new/old sculpts are really tempting, but I'm still waiting on my Klaus and a body, so I really don't feel comfortable even thinking about a new one, as tempting as Karsh and Eliya are. I look forward to seeing what others get!

 

I might use the rerelease of Shushu as the push I needed to get around to buying a male body however other than the fact that fairyline bodies are designed to allow for fantasy parts is there much difference aestheticly between minifee and fairyline bodies (male). I’d be looking for the scrawnier of the two or any suggestions for a rather sinewy male body in a compatible tan that’s going to fit.

 

I just pre ordered the sheer mint dragon legs for my Erda from DDE. I’m so glad they gave the option to buy just the legs! Now I can have the dragon boy I missed!

 

I'm sorely tempted, but I don't even know what a basic Woosoo faceup looks like at this point.

 

They are discontinuing Dina?! I may have to panic buy her. I skipped out on buying Honoka and Mio when they were discontinued and I regret it.

 

Rerelease of Shushu has motivated me to come back to dolls after literally a decade away from the hobby. I do wish we could see what the default faceups will look like for these re-released heads...hard to believe they'll be identical to the original ones.

Hello! I have a tan minifee head that needs a body, and I was wondering if anyone knew of any close resin matches to their tan?

 

So I got the vampire elf Chloe head during the Raven event and I'm trying to see a character in it. The first problem I'm having is the dreaming eyes and finding eyes that work with the opening. I've special ordered small iris eyes, but I'm not sure that's going to do it for me. What have y'all done with event heads to bond with them or see their potential characters?

 

@Inari I have a lot of tan dolls, since I really like them, and all of them are different. Personally I love that, but it does make finding other bodies that are a similar color difficult. DDE does have Minifee and Fairyline bodies available to order in tan, if a Fairyland body would be work for you.

@Klaw My blue Jiyu came with an event head in the same resin tone, and since its not too different from his, I use it as his alternate expression. I have a similar, but not identical pair of eyes in it. I ordered a Lookback Dreaming Dark Elf Soo, after coming up with a character idea just from looking at her. So maybe you could try some different wigs and eye colors and see if anything comes to mind?

 

Hi @Inari I’m in a similar situation and have seen a post somewhere of a minifee head tried on a male Dream Valley body, it was a pretty close and seemed good proportion wise but was more taller and muscular than I was looking for.
Fairyland tan is quite difficult to find matches for as it’s redder and slightly darker than most other tans, then there’s the head attachment part which you’ll also need to buy unless you can fashion your own as Fairyland heads don’t use the usual S hook through the slit method. In all honesty unless you’re looking for a very specific body type you are just as well buying a minifee or fairyline body. Fairyline if you want fantasy leg parts at any point as they’re designed specifically for swapping out the lower part.

I was looking for a more muscular body, and hopefully taller, ^^' I also dont mind buying the head connector or rigging something. I've already reached out to a couple of companies to see if they would resin match and both said they can't right now to that specific resin color. So looks like my girl will remain without a body for the foreseeable future until I find the right body Thank you for you help!

(if it would be helpful though I don't mind trying my Minifee head on any of the bodies I have, I have boy bodies from: Akagidoll, Dollzone, Luts, and Resinsoul. And these female bodies: Souldoll and Myou. They wont match fairyland tan, but might help with visualizing the proportions)

 

@Inari hopefully you’ll find something, more companies are making more muscular female bodies so with some luck you will the perfect option may well be out there!
I can understand why they don’t resin match to Fairyland, it may well be that Fairyland have said they don’t want that happening. They’re constantly fighting battles with bootleggers as it is and like any company they’re trying to protect their product. Times are tough enough just now without the added pressure of that. I could be wrong though.

It’s the Ciel Therian head I’m needing a body for so I kind of want something short and scrawny to go with the idea in my head.
