Fairyland MiniFee MNF discussion part 67

Oct 15, 2021

    1. Where are you guys seeing the new event heads? I'm not active on social media any more. :sweat

    2. Correction - find them here at Fairyland's website.

    3. Eep!! Iset has a snarling face?!

      • x 1
    4. I thought I would want Iset but I think I might just get a Lookback Soo Dark in tan instead of getting Iset. I have more visions for Soo Dark!

      • x 3
    5. Has anyone ever asked Fairyland to not do any faceup on a basic head for their Full Package dolls?
I wish there was an option to get Iset blank, as I'm 100% sure I won't be keeping her factory faceup.

      • x 4
    6. To those who have gotten their Ingrids, what size wig does she wear?

    7. I have! I ordered the Eva fullset and requested no faceup. I was ordering through DDE, and they let me know there wouldn't be any price adjustment, and I was perfectly fine with that. (Poor girl FINALLY got a faceup :sweat)

      • x 2
    8. Oh, that’s amazing to hear!! I’ll keep that in mind for future full sets  I know mine won’t keep hers either, but the weather is terrible here so faceup time is very short, so I sometimes like to keep the company one as a temp one

      • x 2
    9. I bit the bullet and ordered a full set of Iset from DDE. Sleeping head and Event head. I got her in tan. She is just so lovely.

    10. Hey y’all! I have a question, though I’m sure it’s been asked before. I have a MNF Alan and he’s gorgeous! He is kind of a pain in the butt to pose though. His head especially just snaps around all over the place.

It’s been a long time since I’ve handled one of these lil friends, but it seems like he’s just strung way too tight. Before I tear him to pieces for a restringing tho I wanted to check… is this normal for Minifees?

    11. What body is your Alan on? I find my A-line boy from forever ago does that a bit more then my moe boy or my motion line boys. I do have one motion boy that I know is strung a bit tight, and he also jerks his head a bit too.

      • x 1
    12. Have you checked that his elastic isn't twisted? My boy (A-line if I recall correctly) did that quite a bit and I found twisting his head to the other side until his elastic was normal fixed it. Of course, he's not a fan of standing and likes moving a leg at his own will, but that's a different problem entirely, haha.

      • x 3
    13. @Tippetarius i think he’s on a motion line body. The last minifee I had was an A line girl, so I was kinda surprised at how finicky this one was, being a newer design and all!

@Yuns thats a great idea, I’ll give that a whirl. there’s always a good dolly quirk or two to contend with, but maybe this’ll help him out a bit! his head really is next to impossible to pose, if you look at him funny it snaps over lol.

    14. She wears a 6-7”

      • x 1
    15. @shirotsuki i hope its just that! my sircca's body did similar things until i twisted him around, and also over time he's loosened a bit just from being posed basically. I unstrung my boy karsh to dye him and ......quite frankly, I'll never do that again if i can help it, not only is the person who strings FL dolls a beast when it comes to tightening things, but restringing all the bitty parts nice and tight to fit together again... x_X And I actually kind of enjoy restringing things!

      • x 4
    16. @shirotsuki ... Not quite normal for my minifee boy, he's one of a very docile child, who willing to keep any post I've ask him to do. I normally post him standing sitting and kneeling, not a very hard position though. Never tilt his head by himself.(Another of my crew do that but she's not minifee)

He's on an A-line body for reference.

      I think re-stringing might help.

    17. Thanks y’all, I really appreciate the input! @Karra ive heard that, it’s one of the things that gave me pause about just pulling him apart. These lil guys are a puzzle! I’m not usually afraid to do dolly spa either, heh.

@xxxsaturnxxx thats awesome! If all else fails I’m hoping this lil friend calms down eventually. He poses really well actually, it’s just a bit of a struggle at the moment.

    18. Hmmm. I don't really like the Iset mold, but I love the rest of the look. If I get a Dark Soo head added on, will it have the twisted nasty facial expression, or will it have a resting face like the preview image of the dark Soo at the bottom of the page when ordering Iset?

    19. The look back head has the neutral expression - that is the one you can select on the order page.

    20. Excellent!

    21. Really like the grumpy Dark Elf Soo event head but can't $750 on dolls right now

    22. I know I've asked this before, but how often does Fairyland offer tan skin? Will they have a spring event of some kind, for example? Thank you!!

    23. They have an event once a season. Lately it looks like they have been offering tan during events. But def during the summer one if they don't next time for spring.

    24. Thank you @lully.lullers - Summer would be perfect if that is the case!

    26. I maybe in the minority on this but I feel that there should be more male looking sculpts. Maybe more head sculpts will be added as they continue to make new ones.

    27. I'm super happy to announce that my rescued Minifee Rheia is now completed, and I've decided to call her Adrienne :D Her hair and kimono top both arrived today so she's no longer naked lol
      [IMG]
I had made her bra and underwear myself yesterday so she wouldn't be completely naked and I'm pleased with how she looks so far. Her wig came from DDE and I'm in love with how soft it is! Now I need to figure out what to match the kimono top with, maybe a skirt?

      • x 12
    28. Quick question, do you think the head-turning trick for a twisted elastic might help an A-line F body that refuses to sit? Not that it's a hassle for me to try myself (I will), but I didn't know if there might be something else that was causing her to refuse to be on her buttox.

    29. She's so pretty! I've never bought a wig from DDE before; could you post the link to the one you got please? :love

      • x 1
    30. In always have the hardest time getting my a-lines to sit. My motion line boy sits perfectly though. If it were possible, I'd get motion line girls too.

If anyone has any advise, I'd love to read it!

      • x 1
    31. yep! head turning will work the same on really any of their bodies at any size, though obvs it depends on the issue. can’t hurt though! i’d fiddle with them too to make sure their little hip caps didn’t slide out of place, or that their thighs aren’t turning out of place too and keeping the elastic from holding the pose properly. my alines, moe girls and motion boys all do that sometimes if i’m posing or redressing them and i didn’t notice i moved their legs or twisted them weird or something :XD: especially if a leg is stuck sticking out or won’t sit.

@Lady Sai Inu you’re not alone!!! male or “sharper” or angular faces too i’d love.. i got two Juri20’s because i loved how their cheekbones, chin and lips looked. I made one into a girl, and hopefully at some point i’ll do a faceup for my second head, which i intend to be a boy twin. There’s a lot of the cute softer faces but….. i wanna see some cheekbones and edges too, i hope they make another one like juri20!

    32. @spacefallen , Adrienne is lovely. How about a pair of jeans to go with the top?

      • x 1
    33. @spacefallen Your girl is absolutely lovely, and the kimono looks great on her!

I agree too that we need more male sculpts, Juri20 is definitely one of my favorites. Here's my boy, Camden, who I need to take some better pictures of soon.

    34. Thank you!! I tried it last night, and one of the legs started working, so I'm going to try messing with it some more. <3

    35. apologies in advance for the shoddy photo, but guess who bought an awesome outfit and THEN found it it was a cosplay??? WELP. At least it looks awesome

    36. He’s so cute! Oh I should check out Minifee guys now

    37. It's a shame that they retired so many of their male sculpts fairly recently. Of course, there's always the secondhand market, and you could always make a "girl" head a boy, but they did have some nice other ones.
I'm a bit biased towards boys though, lol. From left to right, I've got my Klaus Vampire Elf (event head, regular Klaus is retired), Jiyu, modded Karsh sleeping boy (Karsh is retired), Tika (retired), Alan, Juri20 (event head), Mir/Mika (retired) and Sneering Alan (event head). I'm going to try and turn an Ingrid vampire head I got into a boy too, but we'll see how that goes.

On another note, does anyone have a Lishe boy? I'm contemplating something to do with the recent event elf head, but would like to see pics if anyone has one.

    38. @Magnus Vale i just scrolled past your photos on insta too, i absolutely love your Alan event head  Its already such an expressive head but i love seeing an owner faceup on it, it really brings out the “Ugh..” feeling, makes me giggle anytime i see his little sneer.

      All your boys are awesome!

    39. @Karra Thank you! Honestly, it's such a great sculpt. He had the perfect expression for my grumpy diva boy. I'm very happy with how the face up came out, I really wanted to give him a unique look from the default! Especially since I wanted to keep the other Alan head for a different character.

Thanks so much! Klaus was my first when I fell in love with his event head, then things just kinda spiralled from there, haha!

    40. I have a Lishe boy, but haven't had the time to paint his face and get him clothes. All the dolly buying last year exhausted my brain and wallet. :sweat

    41. Haha, fair enough! I was just wondering since I'd like to make my Lishe winking elf a boy, trying to shell a character who's blind in one eye.

    42. I finally finished Roon's shield, it has been waiting for 2 years at least. I finished the sword long ago.

    44. I saw discussion about turning girl sculpts into boys and I am a big fan of this! I have a Sircca boy, and my best friend has a Mirwen boy (I have an F60 Mirwen boy as well but hers is minifee). I also think some of the other available sculpts could be great boys. The new girl Iset, for example, I think could make an awesome boy! Sylvia I also think could be a great boy!

But, since the only girl head turned minifee boy I have is Sircca, he's all I can share but I again, love Sircca as a boy!

    45. @malvinas Yay, Sircca boy, and absolutely adorable!!! I really love his eyes :D

It didn't even occur to me to share my Sircca boy :doh He stole Alan's outfit as soon as he had arrived, and hasn't relinquished it since. The hat is technically a little much for my alchemist but... I like it too much to put it away LOL

    46. Nooo! Don't tempt me with a Sircca boy!

But for girl sculpts as boys spam, Lukas, my Shushu boy, is always happy to make an appearance here.

    47. It's always seemed to me that most, if not all, MNF sculpts could be either gender. My Alan girl doesn't seem at all masculine, and makes a charming girl. Admittedly, Alan is designed to be a pretty boy. The thing is, that these dolls are young adults or older teens, and by then, the testosterone has kicked in. Men usually have heavier brow lines, bigger jaws, bigger noses, too. I recently saw a kpop show where the all male group were in drag, and they made ugly women! Since they were all Korean, you can't say that Asian men, even the cute and somewhat androgynous members of a boy band, look like women. Maybe they just prefer not to make really masculine sculpts.

    50. Maya & Risse[IMG]
Excited to share my first new minifee purchase Maya! My Risse was a secondary market purchase. Risse is currently on a moe body, but I want to switch her to an A line. Problem is, her head does not seem to fit on Maya’s neck connector! Is this a common issue? I don’t want to spend the money on a body only to find that it does not fit. Very frustrating!
Can someone please explain how to post a pic from Flickr on here? It won’t work for me

    51. Next to your photo, there's an arrow, click on that, select "BBCode" then choose the size, I normally have mine set to medium, then copy and paste the entire thing in the box! (I hope that makes sense!)

      • x 2
    52. @AnnC They're so pretty!!!!
I think Risse is one of the heads that are a little smaller than the other heads (mika/mir being the other one?). It shouldn’t affect her being able to be put on the other body, but i have noticed that my much older ruth’s head is bigger on my newer bodies’ neck mechanism than my sircca or dina heads, or even my retirement karsh heads, and it would have needed to be sanded just a little bit to fit if i had wanted to put her on one of my newer bodies (i can’t remember if it was a moe body or A line, but it was probably the moe body since i tend to pop her on any of my spare alines).

Is the neck hole too tight or too big?

      • x 1
    53. The neck hole on the A line is too small so her head won’t slide down properly into the mechanism so I cannot turn the key.

Can it be done on a phone or do you have to use a PC?

    54. @AnnC Do you mean the hole in her head is too small or the neck of the body is too small? hopefully if it’s the hole in her head you can just sand it a little bigger! i had an issue with new extra hands not fitting properly on a new body earlier the year.. hm.

Anyway, i looked around to fact check Risse and Mika/Mir being “small” - Risse and Mika/Mir can’t fit on the Fairyline bodies apparently according to FL. Someone on the forum apparently got their Risse on a Fairyline body fine though. So I think her going on Activeline should be just fine, unless her head’s hole is too small?

    55. For Flickr, I believe it has to be done on PC.

For the neck thing: Fairyland is horribly inconsistent with their neck keys. I have dolls straight from FL that have loose heads, and some that the key is dang near impossible to turn! It could be the key part itself, it could be the neck hole in the head, or it could be both.

      • x 3
    56. It is the head hole that appears to be too small. She fits fine on the Moe body that I have though, so it appears the neck connector on that body must be slightly smaller. I did speak to a couple of people who have had a similar experience with Risse. Someone said that they bought a Risse direct from FL and they could see that FL had done some sanding inside the dolls neck hole to make it fit.

      • x 1
    57. If you don’t want to mod anything you should be able to swap the neck connectors. My friend and I did that with our newest girls (she has a moe girl, I got the active line).

    58. Is it easy to do? I can do it without restringing, right?
