I'm keeping my fingers crossed and my eyes open because my incoming second-hand Minifee head has seemingly gotten lost in the mail... S/he is a Spring 2017 event head that's coming all the way from the UK to the US and I think the seller was given the wrong tracking number sometime between the handoff from Royal Mail to USPS. We ended up with updates for an entirely different package that has since been picked up from a post office a few states away. (I called them and they confirmed that the parcel was assigned a different seller and buyer that, indeed, was postmarked correctly to their location.) The seller has been wonderful and communicative and is ready to refund my money if it doesn't turn up, which will be a huge bummer if it comes to that. There's a possibility that it's still in transit and is just untrackable, but it's so nerve-wracking. Hopefully my next update will be here and not in the Lost/Stolen Dolls forum.

My Hwayu came! I love her so much. I've always wanted a "spookyish" doll. I used a ribbon to tighten her corset. I think I need to get a gold or black one to match. I honestly didn't think I would like the fullset this much. But it looks so good, I think I'll just add to it.

Here she is near the window. But her normal spot is in the corner of a dark cabinet where she can be extra spooky.

I'm so excited, i have 2 heads out for faceups and I'm getting a tan minifee erda head soon (a twin for Sebby that needs a name still lol). Have some Sebastian in exchange for my excited rambling! He got a new blouse recently!

My Lami is on a long layaway so wont see mine for a while sadly. I too would enjoy some owner pix from different people once she starts to show up in the wilds. I love seeing how different people style the same dolls.

That's partly what has made it difficult to decide if/what sculpt I want to reshell one of my characters as. Sometimes the company photos is not at all what I'm looking for (not a fan of the "sad" eyebrows), but then I see an owner photo on Flickr and I totally change my mind! I even thought about switching to SD size, but I am not at all a fan of the F60 Moe body so I think I'll stick with msd size.

 

@Urushi-kitty Always love seeing Sebastian, his new blouse is cute af & congrats on the incoming tan (am I a lil jealous, of course but can't wait to see them!)


Theoretically....could we have a call for some full/e bust lovelies? No mold preferences (& no reason....not thinking of adding a new mnf to the crew....of course not ) And whichever of my neighbors may've heard me shout "She needs those ti****s!" Well, they can min' their bidness

I haven't posted my girl here yet, but I couldn't just ignore the call! This is my beloved Belle, my Luha girl, conveniently modeling some new clothes and jewelry she just got (from SalmonellaArt on Etsy):

As far as clothes go, she's really versatile - she'll fit just about anything made for Minifee unless it's very specifically only meant for small bust girls. Sometimes the shape of the bust does require some creativity - I have a loose-bottom crop top for her that I get to stay down under the bust with a miniature hair tie so it has the right shape to look flattering on her. Generally corset style or tie-back tops will be the easiest fit. My favorite shops for her have been SalmonellaArt and CeressBJDclothes on Etsy, but she also has stuff from CottonHoney, TiToDollUSA and balljointedsoulmates (all on Etsy) that fit great. (A note: CottonHoney clothes run big for Minifee. I love their sweaters though, they make great comfy sweater dresses for Minifee girls!)

For reference, she and my partner's Minifee Hwayu (who has the C/large bust) swap clothes all the time, and there's very little they can't both wear. I can't say for sure about smaller bust sizes - we just got our first small bust girl in the house about a week ago (my partner got a Catacombs Hwayu head on a small bust moe-line body), so we haven't gotten to experiment much yet.

Considering I haven't stopped thinking about the 'maybe' new girl for days - she already has a name & general look....guess she's not a 'maybe' girl at all & I might as well get shopping for her! And I'm sure my other girls wouldn't mind some new stuff either - the sweater dress idea sounds cute & since none of them have one, will be adding a few of those to the must-have list.

There can never be enough Seb. Have u decided on a name for his twin?

CottonHoney sweater dresses are so cute it's criminal, I swear! They are sometimes a little short so I usually pair them with leggings, as a tip. As I type this, Belle is wearing one and her sister (my partner's Hwayu) is wearing one too. They're just so cozy! I have to redress Belle for the day though now, it's 80 degrees out and definitely not sweater weather.

Aah you can't tell me these things, I promised not to get anymore dolls... that Maya sounds so gorgeous though! Good thing she doesn't have a stock faceup, I hate doing faceups

 

Quick question: has anyone noticed older heads seeming loose on newer bodies? I just purchased a Spring '17 MNF event head second-hand that's in great condition, but is slightly loose when I put it on an A-Line boy body (c. 2021-22, since it came with a Lookback Shiwoo head). It's just such that the head wiggles a bit and makes a rattling noise, but can still hold poses and won't fall off or anything. It doesn't bother me much and can probably be fixed easily.

I don't know if there was a change in bodies from 2017 through 2021 or if it could be an issue with the resin itself; there was a discussion on the FeePle forum of Feeple & old-school CP Delfs' headcaps loosening over time, which I noticed with my own Delf from 2011.

 

I've had heads that are loose on the body they were made with/for. I think it's a quirk of casting, as I have multiples of some molds and also normal version event version of some heads and some fit fine some wiggle/are loose. As example my scowling Alan fits his body 100% and head cap works fine. However the normal Alan head is loose on the same body/neck connector and also has a very loose head cap that needs tape to stay on.

I also have two Erdas on the Fairyline body, one is slightly tighter then the other for fit on the neck connector., but they are both within range of normal for me so barely note the difference.

@roserising Absolutely down for all the Belle pics I can see why u love her - she's a stunner & love her mix of sultry & sweet. & yep, I know exactly what mold my new girls gonna be: an Alan! There's just something about that face.

Thanks for the leggings tip too, my current girls are fans of leggings as a wardrobe staple. And ok I could buy sweaters to match pairs they already have....but where's the fun in that? lol If I'm gonna do wardrobe shopping, might as well do some serious shopping They've certainly gone long enough without anything new so deserve a good batch of clothing 'treats' I may also be trying to talk myself out of making 'the new girl,' TWO new girls & adding that Alicia to my order @ DDE

Shopping for doll clothes is so much fun! I'm always having to limit myself because if it were up to me, Belle would have a bigger wardrobe than I do and I'd be even more broke than I already am lol. I definitely say treat your new girl (and your old ones!) to some fabulous new clothes including new leggings!

Definitely would NOT blame you if you got that Alicia too. She is gorgeous. Sorry, I'm a terrible enabler - I promised myself I wouldn't buy any more dolls and would just focus on spoiling Belle silly, so I have to live vicariously through others

 

I have a thing where I see/am interested in most of FLs sculpts gender swapped than the bodies they're originally designed for. Also have plans for a couple new boys, maybe as 'Christmas presents', or save them for 2024 and they'll probably be an Ingrid & a Dina. And yeah, I think Alan makes a striking girl that I'm really excited to style and develop more as a character as soon as I get her.

Always struggled with buying things for my MNF girls as I couldn't decide who looked good in what & what style which one should have, but my Alan's got me inspired to just buy all the soft, pretty "fem" things even if it's for one of the other girls, not her So I see lots of pastels/halter tops/dresses in my future....and really want a cpl corsets for the Alan. Also even tho she's not here, she's pretty dang adamant I find some her cute jean shorts. Preferably a couple pair.

Pfffffft I don't mind enabling lol tho I could prob do with some better dolly control... Nah.

 

I love a good gender swap for sure! I'm so interested to see an Ingrid boy, that's such a cool idea. (I have seen a Dina boy once, and he looked so good!) My partner has a Siean boy and he's so gorgeous.

I used to have that problem so bad with other dolls! I got kind of lucky with Belle, I swear she decided her aesthetic all on her own lol. The problem is she suits so many things so well that it's hard not to buy everything for her. I've been making eyes at this dress on TiToDollUSA and I'm trying to resist buying it because I'm going on vacation in less than a week and it would get here while I'm away... but it would look so good on Belle! Being inspired while shopping can be dangerous for your wallet, but sooo good for your dolls.

I will be the anti-doll control here I couldn't bring anyone in and have them take attention from Belle and Arthur though. I would be too sad lol.

I also have a vampire Ingrid boy, but I don't have a pix of him. Storm (my Ingrid boy) always looks worried as has the default face up on normal skin. I need to find an outfit for my female Ingrid his sister Rain and get some photos of my Ingrid twins.

@digi Raven is based on my hubby, that is his hair color and curl pattern

The side shave? From the fiber I lost brushing it out, I balled it up and chopped it into tiny tiny bits of flocking. I laid a thin layer of my adhesive amd then sprinkled the flocking on and bit by bit covered it. After letting it dry, I give it a thorough rub down and I repeat the process as many times as need be to fill in any patchy spots.

I experimented to figure it out, lol. This was the first wig I did it on-

Her name is Hester and I adore her. Face-up by Angeltoast and dress and wig from Etsy (ZaraKryAesthetics & MKDollsArt) . I put her on a doll leaves body so she is tall. Neilla totally photo bombed her.

 

@brightberry Hester is super pretty Her faceup reminds me of my Regina (Chloe) painted also by Angeltoast! I just love the gothy look and the black lipstick!

I have got to switch her eyes back to hazel now that I have another pair! Raven kind of stole them from her.

What's the availability like for event heads after missing out on their initial period? Elf!Phoebe may work for a character I'm considering shelling, though it looks like I'm late to the party for her.

 

DenverDoll Emporium usually has several after the fact! Right now they have quite a few Crow Witch Sias and Catacomb Hwayu, so I assume they will also eventually have some Phoebes in stock as well.

 

I am super excited for my Phoeb when she comes. She has me plotting ideas already, haha. I'm such a suckered for the faerie looks. I think the event head is probably going to be her default instead of the regular one.

Also, I have to share Vi now that I havevher in the Alicia fullset outfit amd wig I made specifically for it. I am in love with how it all came together! Though, does anyone know if it's normal for the resin shoes not to fit their feet? Did they have different sized feet at one point?

 

@LiselT The only reason I could think of for shoes not fitting is that the Moe-line boys, and girls have smaller feet then A-line, Fairy-line and Motion-line dolls do. What body type was the outfit made for do you know?

 

@LiselT I have a pair of Alicia's fullset shoes and I've noticed it's difficult to get them on. I've not tried flat feet, only heel feet. I'm planning on boiling them in water to try and loosen them up a little.

 

In case I haven't let everyone here know, I'm looking to buy normal skin hands that fit the old a-line body from about 11 years ago, and that have yellowed so they match my girl.

Also, @LiselT she is amazing! I love that you made her wig! It matches perfectly.

 

@Tippetarius I believe it was a Fairyline body. Pretty sure Alicia was the release with the mermaid tail?

@sophiesoliday Huh, so it isn't just me. Good to know and thank you for the idea. I can almost get one foot in, but it won't fully settle in. The other I can't even get her heel in. There is absolutely no balancing in them!

@Nabbs Thank you! That wig was a little tough to make but I am very pleased with how well it matches! I'm one of those people who loves limited color palettes and everything to match.

Great new 1/4 prop at Michaels! Last year they had 1/3 sized Adirondack chairs, and this year they are smaller and perfect for 1/4 props!

Has anyone here ordered Lami? I’ve been dying to see some pictures of her outside of the official ones. She’s gorgeous.

 

I second this! I'm also interested to see what she looks like with an owner faceup, or with tan skin. I thought it was kind of hard to see what she looks like because the Fairyland photos she has white skin with white hair obscuring part of her face.

 

I ordered and Lami fullset, (along with some elf Lami heads and an extra body) however my order is on a long layaway so will be forever before I have mine in hand.

 

On Instagram is a tan skin Lami with owner face-up =) I think she is a modern Chloe =)
