Fairyland MiniFee MNF discussion part 64

@lee_bee69 I don't know of any shops with the boy moe body. But I have used a pants pattern for the a line girl body that fit pretty well. If you're interested in the pattern to see the sizing for yourself it's here.

 

Mine was never overly shimmery. It was very light but there I had to hold it in the light to see it. Also it was a goldish shimmer so it blended in. You honestly can't tell from my old photos that it was there.

 

That sort of thing is almost always in scale with mnf! They regularly have the adirondak chairs (usually with the spring/summer decor), and I found more of a cafe chair earlier this spring. They're not 100%, but they're really quite good!



Kind of unrelated, but I didn't heed the flickr banner and never checked my log in before they changed things. Now I have no idea what my log-in was, especially because they insist on using yahoo emails

Is that chair from Michaels? I can spot our stuff anywhere I think I purchased the blue and yellow ones mostly for my Littlefee and didn’t even think about them fitting the Minifees!

 

Yep! They had it with this year's spring collection. I think there were three other colours? Pink, green, and yellow maybe?

 

Thank you for your help! The doll I want doesn't have a shimmery faceup so that's promising. I think it must have been something they were doing a few years ago and aren't now. I'll make a note in the order comments too saying if possible to not use the shimmery effect!

 

Yup! We also had matching glass birds. I think it was the Rustic Charm collection? We’re now getting fall stuff in and there’s a bag of tiny pumpkins and all my coworkers at Michaels are like don’t buy the pumpkins. I’m like yu shouldn’t tell your boss what to do ‍♀️ But the Minifees need pumpkins.

 

Hello, hope I am posting in the right place! I'm wondering about a Minifee head on a plastic body- I've done a search but only seen other resin body swaps so thought I'd ask here.

My girl is currently on a Tonner body and I wonder whether a BJD plastic body would be an improvement, looking at this or one like it:

(I'm aware the skin tone won't match especially as she has gone pretty yellow!)

Hey guy's so a little advice. I bought a tan minifee m-line gitl body to swap the legs for my tan m-line boy body. Now the surgery was a success for my boy he has shorter legs which is what I envisioned for my character. The issue now is placing the m-line boy legs on the girl body. The elastic does not seem to be long enough for me to hook the foot piece on. I even removed the hip cups to ease up the space since the hip cups aren't so useful. what I should I do? I guess buy elastic just for the legs?

 

Or switch the elastic from the boy body too

 

Agreeing with Whooganana. Think of the elastic as bones. The "bones" for the girl's legs would be too short for the boy legs.

 

@ohbumblebee That is good to know. I wasn’t collecting BJDs when I used to work there ages ago or I’d have snagged some. I’m excited to have a doll with a scale that I might find things like that for more easily than my SDs.

Speaking of, I just checked and saw my order status changed from “Item processing” to “Before shipping” and almost had a heart attack. I thought I wouldn’t see that for another month! Does anyone know how long it stays in before shipping before they actually ship? I am leaving on a vacation out of town in 2 weeks time and now I’m worried she’ll get stuck at the post office or worse, shipped back, because I can’t pick her up.

 

I'm from the same state as you, and from my experience (there are no guarantees though, sorry) I've had my dolls shipped out in a day or two and then ems usually takes only a few days later to get to me. Most of the time under a week. Unless the po is having an unusually iffy week where my packages get to my city, then take a walk three cities over for a day or two then come back and are delivered. Lol. Salty? Me? Nohhhh

 

If the doll hasn't arrived by the time you go on vacation you can fill out a form and have the PO keep all of your mail, including the doll in the post office. They won't send it back because they know you aren't there to sign for it. You can either have them hold everything until you come pick it up or you can set a date for them to begin deliveries again. When I went on vacation a doll head arrived and I knew because of the tracking. I went to the post office the day I got back to pick everything up. It was wonderful to come home to that.

 

@Zavrinas Oh no, I hope your's reaches you quick, safe and sound with no post office detours. I'd be going nuts and be super pouty if my doll decided on a trip like that lol!

@SteamWitch Yeah, I was hoping I could do something like that or see if I can write that my friend who is watching my 4 fur babies can pick her up for me. Thankies for letting me know. I will be in the Caribbean on a cruise so I won't be able to check my tracking.

Finally got around to putting Altair's damn faun body back together after painting his hooves a few weeks ago so I decided to take a pic of him and his bf Gabriel! I'll... take a pic of his actual legs one of these days lol.

I got a few dolls back from the spa... I'm not sure how I feel about Honoka, since she has such a cute face, and I'm trying to go in a more mature direction BUT she is sooooo cute! I don't know how I'm going to style her quite yet!

Wow, I need more wigs NOW! She is currently wearing the wig I had for my Risse. Now I'm conflicted, haha.

 

Anyone see the images of Fairyland's MeowFees? Not my cup of tea, but I enjoy seeing them nonetheless!

Also, where does everyone find proper shoes for their Minifees? I’m having a bit of a time finding ones with the right inner length D8

 

My go-to place was always Summomo82 on Etsy. She made shoes to fit a-line and moe-line feet perfectly, I've had a few pairs over the years. I see her Etsy shop is empty at the moment though, I hope she comes back soon as I love her little shoes

Quick query: is there any rhyme or rhythm to fairylands fullsets being discontinued, or is it just based on numbers that we can't access? I've been hesitating on buying Iru for a while because I have other sculpts that take priority rn, but I'm getting worried his full set will be sold out while I deliberate rip

 

@tennjou there are only a certain number of full sets. So when they sell out, they're gone.

 

FL has added Maya to the a la carte section before her official sale, thats new :,D I'm kinda hooked.

Eee, Violet (minifee Celine) arrived and she's so dang adorable, I'm in love. She's so light and tiny compared to my SDs, I'm kind of floored by it. XD

 

Congrats @LiselT It is amazing how light they are compared to SDs. They get to go places because of it too.

Right now I'm really focusing on trying to actually style my dolls. I've been admittedly pretty bad at it throughout the years... Sometimes a new doll just sounds more exciting than clothes, haha!

 

Thank you~ I suspect she will be climbing into my bag rather often once she settles in! I think she's going to be turning into the inspiration for my silly chibi doodles/mascot for my art studio. She's just got so much personality xD

 

Maya is a lovely sculpt - when I'm ready to get a new body, I may have to select that head
In the meantime, Nika is happily monopolizing my lone A-line. And that is one of the things I love about MNFs - they are the only doll I don't mind switching heads!

I'm looking for reference pics for Mio and Alicia to pair with a Mir/Mika. I figure that because I asked for them together specifically, that maybe nobody has them together. I would like to thank everybody for there advice on elastic a few pages back. I will just take the lazy route and order more elastic lol. Maya looks really cool not a huge fan of her fullset but I think she is really pretty. My wallet is safe for now. I am loving everyone's photo too. I lowkey always wanted a Juri10.

I did want to introduce you all to my newest boy. His name is Mocha-Bear and he is a tan Modded Risse M-line boy hybrid with M-line girl legs. Hope you all love my little pastel boy!!!!

Thanks @Hakari-chan it's been a struggle lol. I'll probably just have to take a leap of faith and go with my gut. This actually happened to me in the past and I ended up scraping those characters and selling the dolls. The boy was shelled as a Unoa B-El and the girl was a mnf Ryeon. I regret selling the Ryeon head and will probably get another in the future. But honestly love these current characters too much to scrap them.

What exactly do you need to know @KaramiahS ? They're strung pretty straightforward - wrist to shoulder (in each arm), leg - hip - leg and neck to belly.

I having a hard time with how the legs are strung. Their is no tutorials as far as I can find for the Human legs. I think I have figured it out through.

Mir's head is a little smaller than the others. I wish it were a bit bigger to be honest!

@Zavrinas sorry it has taken a few days to get the photo taken for you. They look good together, I find with a wig on Mika/Mir head doesn't look as small as he seems. I also have a photo without their wigs on in my flickr account. Just ignore Alicia's ears, I am trying to take off the ear mod that her previous owner attempted.
