Fairyland MiniFee MNF discussion part 64

I've been out of the hobby for an awful long time Are there any new Minifee elves out there? I looked through their web site but I think oftentimes their elves wind up on their event heads (??) I'd love to see any if folks have some

 

I think the 2 latest ones that aren't limited are the new Jiyu and before that Hwayu. There was also an event elf head of lucywen and sirrca. I hope that helps

 

They are incredible!! The centaurs and costumes and faceups!! Ahhhh such a warm fuzzy feeling for these little lovelies. I would have bought all the girls

 

Finally got my Carol ^^ unfortunately the sleeping head is missing but I hope it will be shipped later, cause I wanted to try her with custom makeup

Ohh, I am really regretting not getting the Carol Aqua Fairy.

 

I feel the same, but I’m still in love with 1/3 dolls a little more. I hope they do another fullset soon as beautiful as Carol.

 

Make sure to contact the company you ordered her from! They may have missed that you ordered a sleeping head.

Haha thank you @Anneke you're totally right. Reggie (bottom left) is a complete self serving scumbag and Rourke (top left) was a playboy and loves to tease and flirt. Braesin (top right) is actually really sweet, but family circumstances make him get into fights a lot. And then Lucian (bottom right) is a clutz and a spaz that wants to prove himself to be manly and not a princess like his father and brothers treat him. Pretty much all trouble makers and I love them so much!

Made a new crop top for my Mirwen! I've been struggling with patterns because it seems like a lot of patterns I bought for minifees account for large busts and she has a small one. This top was just stitched together from an old top of mine!

As mentioned in my previous post, she has the default Mirwen faceup, it's very versatile. With a change of wig and head angling it feels like she has totally different looks in every photo.

 

any specific girls you are looking for? I have 22 minifee girls and I'm happy to share any of them! For now here is a shot of Mercy, my Rendia.

Wow, I love Mirwen! And that's an incredible wig. And I love that default faceup. It's versatile without being bland, it's got a lot of character and energy and warmth... gorgeous gorgeous dollie!

 

Haha I do not! I am not very good at group photos. Biggest group shot I have is of my 5 minifee elf sculpts (the characters are all fairies).

Purple shirt is Bramble (Minifee Juri '08), Deep green shirt in the back is Pythia (Minifee Nanuri '14), Coral shirt with pink hair in the center is Sen (Minifee Sarang '15 - modded), Red shirt with white hair in the back is Echo (Minifee Rin Elf - modded), Navy shirt in the front is Shadow (Minifee Siean).

 

YASSSSS the elves are my favorite!! For the longest time the original Shushu elf was my grail doll hehe ^^ I always preferred the fantasy/elf ears so that I could have them all be some kind of fae creature

Oh my goodness no! I am not that talented. The sweaters are by candydollshop on etsy! I have a Shushu but not the elf version! Mine is a modded sleeping Shushu.

Siean and Soony are two of my favorite sculpts! I have an old school Delf Soony (she was my first doll back in 2006 actually!)

 

Her mod is exquisite! I absolutely love the Shushu sculpt such a cute little nose.

Probably a dumb question but are standard minifee hands compatible with the male fairyline body? I'd love new hands for mine but I don't want to buy some and they not fit (like...Size wise?)

 

Jup, they fit! Wrists are exactly the same on all Fairyland MSD bodies.

Oh my GOSH! I have such a weakness for tan dolls. They are soooo warm and lovely! And so rare! I didn't even know Fairyland made tan dolls. And their dresses are so lovely! Did you make them yourself? Absolutely lovely, thank you so much for sharing!

They are so fabulous! Was the tan resin a limited run or free choice event or something?

 

I bought Cecile on the secondary market. Mirwen I ordered her that way. I think Fairyland releases it as an option around events and such at different times of year.

 

They generally do tan for select lines during events; I got each of my tan boys in different events at different times (and even a couple of years apart, but they still match nicely).

 

I think you can get tan right now at DenverDoll in the free choice section.

Wow she looks so fierce ! I love tan minifees (and tan dolls in general), but I'm too scared to get one since many people complain about the visible seam lines and discoloration at the joints... Which is sad because I want a tan minifee so bad !

 

@CloudyDolly I've heard those complaints as well and maybe I was lucky but I have two tan mnf heads and one body and I don't have any real issues with coloring or seams that are more obvious than on my NS minifees.

 

I know a lot of tan dolls have issues with seam lines (because the companies don't want to sand them) and irregular color. Out of all the tan-to-black dolls that I've had, I've never actually found those things too offensive. Some discoloration here and there, some big seams, but nothing that I notice once they are dressed and faceupped and gorgeous

 

I have 3 tan girls and the seams aren't enough on any of them to bother me, but I'm not super picky about seam lines.

 

I have to say I am a bit picky about seam lines (I have dolls that have absolutely no visible seam line, so I'm used to it). But I'm glad to hear that seam lines on tan dolls are not always bothering. Considering that tan dolls are more expensive, it has always been a turn-off for me.

 

That's a good point about them being more expensive and sometimes the fact that they have a buyer warning feels like it can be an excuse to ship out some really shoddy work (seen this from Souldoll!) It'd be interesting to see what Fairyland's tanned seams look like, though at the end of the day I guess it is all about buyer preference

 

Souldoll really did that ?? Ugh, that's really bad... I think that companies in general tend to have an issue with seam lines. I get that it's not always easy to make them completely disappear, but how come certain companies manage to do it while some other often leave very visible seam lines ? And I'm not even talking about tan dolls... I've seen several minifee dolls in white or normal skin with thick seam lines, so I wish Fairyland would take care of that issue

 

Oh! I shouldn't spread rumors haha. I don't think Souldoll did this really maliciously, but a few bad dolls went out (by now like 10 years ago) but because they had put that warning they wouldnt do anything about it. Seams you could cut yourself on! And that doesn't feel good when you feel like a company is cutting corners, even if they are still trying their best.

The whole doll making process (with humidity and whatnot) sounds super difficult so I just assume their artists have a hard time and the fact that no two dolls are 100% uniform can be part of the appeal of BJD

 

Just put a NS MNF Dark Elf Soo (DES) on layaway through DDE today. I'm soooo excited can I see any DES girls and guys. I'd like to get some inspiration for her face-up, please?

Hey! Does anyone know what Mio and Risse's head circumferences are? I can't seem to find anything.

 

There's a Carol in stock on DDE and people are getting them on Instagram which means she should be arriving any day now hopefully. I'm so anxious to get her.
