Fairyland MiniFee MNF discussion part 58

Jun 1, 2016

    1. Oh, I can give you a BW/NS comparison also. I didn't think about that earlier! LOL Noble (modded Kyle) is from 2011, I believe.

    2. Oh wow!!! She is really stunning! You should post pictures of her more often!!

    3. What a beautiful couple as well! I really like the WS. Ahhhh! Now I'm even more torn! Hahahahaha. Such beautiful dolls!

    4. I should photograph her more too  The problem is most of my dolls are SD+ sized so the Minifee get a little neglected, but it's fun to take group shots

    5. I think DDE is the only layaway option for Europe. I'm not from there, but I just watched a box opening video and I feel like the person (from England) mentioned something about that being the only layaway option.

I prefer the model legs so I was pretty upset when they disappeared right before the renewal. I think most people do prefer the cutie legs though. For some reason they seem more like toy doll legs or Barbie legs. I may get one eventually with cutie legs, but they are just that...too cutsie for me. I'm glad they have the option for model legs with the renewal, but I am a little nervous about the slight gapping at the knees. We shall see if everything ends up being ok with them.

    6. They really are lovely! I think their wigs compliment the WS so nicely too!

    7. I am a little surprised that Ria full set is not sold out yet. I thought she's be sold out by like 7 or 8 pm CST...
By the way I got her in tan skin full set! Still waiting on my Rus and Haru, but I just had to check out the renewal body (and the minifee event head is gorgeous).

    8. managed to order my normal skin Ria today and paid my dde invoice!

I decided to go with the model legs since the consensus seems to be that they're more stable and the lack of extreme curve doesn't bother me at all. if I decide to keep my event head I might just have little vamp teeth modded in and get her a body. haha

because I'm getting Ria in the fullset she'll have the FL faceup but I'm pretty sure I will be sending her out eventually to get redone. I dislike the distressed brows and the fact that they don't paint in her lips very much.

I can't wait to see what everyone does with Ria and the event head!

    9. @hsifalissa & @CuriousRaven - *high-fives for fellow Ria fullset buyers* I got my girl in tan too. It'll be my first time owning a tan doll! Pretty stoked 83 I'll probably wind up sending her out for a custom face up too, though. I do wish they wouldn't do those wistful/distressed brows on literally EVERY doll they release >__> Especially on a demon/witch like Ria? I mean, they don't have to make her look EVIL, but they could at least go for cunning or something? Heck, I'd even just take a neutral expression, hah 8'D

    10. Actually my first minifee was in tan skin! Their tan skin is so gorgeous they made me want to get one :P And now most of my dolls are tan skin, even my pukifees :P Agreeing with the faceup :/ but I'm super excited to see what the faceup artists out there will create with this new sculpt! Love her smaller eyes and TEETH :D

    11. There is also Dolkus which is based in Korea I think. They are a fairyland dealer and they offer up to 6 months layaway too.
I have ordered from them in the past and they have great customer service. Plus they are in the same country as fairyland so if something arrives damaged they can replace it really quickly.

    12. I can't say for sure but I assume DDE is the main place to buy from fairyland and get a layaway.

As for leg popularity, everyone claims cutie legs are the favorite. But I don't know if there is an actual count to prove it.
Bare in mind, the cutie legs are supposedly unevenly sized.
Also bare in mind, with this renewal in effect everything we know could be changing.

I personally prefer the model legs, I thing the cuties look weird.

    13. I'm going to have to disagree. The new event head looks just like my FLAMs, and I also have a blank Luka to compare, which doesn't look the same to me. I never thought I'd have an elf MNF, but I'm starting to feel such a pull towards this event head.

As far as Favorite Legs, I think Moe legs are the best looking, but out of the A line choices I think Cutie legs look much nicer compared to the Model legs which have no curves at all except the very top.

    14. I'm in the UK too. Unfortunately DDE declare the full value of the dolls when they post them, which means you'll be hit with a mammoth customs bill. I know someone just recommended Dolkus above, but I've not used them so can't coment on possible customs charges. I've always had to order direct but I've never purchased a full set before. I'm thinking I may have to put it on my credit card .

I have all legs other than the new Fairyline ones and prefer the model legs for posing.

I agree with the previous poster (sorry, I can't see the name to tag). I think the elf head is an elf version if Flam. I totally love the event head!

Congrats to all those who have placed an order and thanks to those who have shared photos.

    15. I'm from England and have only ordered a new minifee once and it was direct from fairyland. It sucks that they don't do layaway but they do lower the custom value on the package so the custom fee isn't as high, I think I paid around ยฃ30 for a order containing one blank minifee. I would love to order from DDE but they declare the full value which means a very high customs fee. I don't know about other places, hoping one day we get a europe dealer for fairyland.

Cutie legs appear to be most popular. I have two dolls with cutie legs and one with moe legs. The moe poses the best by far, the cutie legs may look nice but they're not the most stable. I intend to try model legs next as I prefer strong stable legs. Cutie legs will hold poses well but you have to fiddle about more to get them in the right position.

    16. I once ordered through dde and honestly for me the layaway is not worth the custom fees. For me at least it wasn't, I live in the netherlands and I had to pay around โ‚ฌ200,- custom fees to get my doll. That's just to much for me.

Also, maybe it's just me, but I find it kind of unfair that they don't offer free shipping on orders above 820 dollars from fairyland, but meh. Nice and all, but to expencive

    17. fairyland do offer free shipping starting from 820, or you meant under that amount? Also i heard that customs fees are less when you are ordering directly from fairyland. They do lower the value of the package.

    18. Dropping in late to the WS party. Here are my two WS minifees, my Shushu is from 2011, and Mio is from 2015.

    19. I think maybe @Indeh meant DDE doesn't offer free shipping for fairyland orders?

    20. I love Ria, she's definitely on my wishlist now. I'd buy her full set of it weren't just bubble boobs, but I'd rather have the A-line large bust. So I'm going to get her in ala carte. I really only wanted the horns from the full set, and I should just make a pair myself.

But I want that event head, and ala carte won't come close so I'm ordering my tan Tika A-line male now. Ria will have to wait until after my wedding. I cannot wait to see her faceupped and customised! Love the more mature looking face, I think she just bumped Celine down my wishlist a notch.

    21. Thanks everyone!

What do you think of best posers?
The reason I was looking at Active more than Moe, is that in this gallery (http://www.emmr.co.uk/category/comparisons/page/9/) it seems that the Moe doesn't lean to the right very well, or sit greatly.

      • x 1
    22. @astromayhem I find my A-line bodies sit so much better than my moe. All my A-line bodies have cutie legs, so they stand a little pigeon toed/ cocky but I like it.usually. lol Moe girl stands better. They are both decent posers if strung well, I'd go by aesthetics, whichever you like better. I prefer A-line.

    23. Just as the writer said, I think with some hot glue sueding it will really help with posing, so if you're choosing a body depending on if they lean side-to-side well, I think the A-line and the Moe line can both do it well (with some hot glue sueding on the chest joint)!

Now in my opinion, A-line bodies sit VERY WELL, the Moe line bodies tend to lean backward when I try to put their knees close when sitting. However, Moe line bodies are much stabler and easier to pose when standing. There are both pros and cons to these bodies, but for me they are both almost to perfection!

    24. I've been calling it the MNF renewal event head on instagram.

    25. Hi guys I just bit the bullet and order my fullset ria. She will be in tan skin. I was going to order Celine in tan for the event, but I fell in love with ria. I order her with model legs but I think I should have chosen cutie legs. Since it has that gap in the knees. I wonder why she has not sold out. I order her real late yesterday. I was worried that I would miss her. I guess she was meant for me. Congrats all who have order ria <3

    26. I guess I should consider myself fortunate that I'm not gaga over Ria since I still have another layaway payment to make on my Rus (and may end up having to rehoming him when he gets home :( ). I am looking forward to what everyone thinks of the Renewal body when they start arriving, though!

    27. I am also surprised she hasn't sold out. I just managed to put 28 of them in my cart on Fairyland's website. I'm assuming a lot of people aren't buying the fullset because of the watermelon boobs. I almost went with an A la carte Ria but when I compared that price with the fullset price, I figured I would get more for my money with the fullset (because I also wanted the outfit and would have had to join a split for that anyway). I may see if I can find a large or glamour bust and swap the busts eventually.

As for the posing discussion, I have an older A-line girl (who probably needs to be restrung but I'm too chicken still!) and she tends to lean to the right ALL the time. Lol. I had to suede her so she would sit up straight for me. Every time I would get her sitting correctly I would go to adjust her pose and her bust automatically wanted to lean to the side again. Like others have said, both lines have their pros and cons. A-line definitely poses better if you want them to sit, but M-line is much easier to pose standing. And I LOVE heels on my girls. It's so much easier to stand Moe girls when wearing heels. My fullset Rin has been standing in my dolly cabinet in her heels for months. She stands like a rock!

    28. Yeah the English version is a direct copy of the Korean version. I understand why the translators can have a difficult time. i kept having to change words and grammar to make sure my point was coming across the same. When I send it I'll include the original copy, if their translator wants to translate it again as well. I also left out the part about selling heads/ bodies separately. Looking back on it that is simply something we all have to make requests for, and didn't quite mesh well with the rest of it.

      • x 1
    29. Yeah it's probably the boobs that are not selling lol. Fairyland should really consider letting us choose the boobs we want haha. I also was going to order her thru a la carte option but with what it cost. It's almost as the full package. I wanted her dress as well and to buy it secondhand or in a split it would run for like $200 or so. Might as well order her fullset.
I love A line body but the moe as well. For the reasons you stated. Tho I do like the f-line body as well. Oh yes I love high heels on my girls as well. I'm super excited to see this new body. It probably improved from the older a-line.

    30. Now that I look at it again, the waist on the new A-line body kind of bothers me. I think the old one looked more natural. :huh?:

      • x 1
    31. I know why they didn't do it, but I wish they had the Glamour bust option, even maybe instead of the Large Bust. I prefer the look of the M-line glamour bust as it has a slightly better shape to it. I know some people can't tell the difference so that's probably why they stuck with the large bust.

I love the Minifee event head. It's been awhile since I've really wanted an event head. I am seriously considering getting her through an order. Not sure what skintone to get though, I'm considering her being the sister/brother to my Vampire Elf Chloe since the ears are similar.

      • x 1
    32. I love the glamour bust, too!! I was hoping it would be an option for the new A-line :(. It is sometimes hard to tell the difference in pictures but in person there is such a difference in the natural curves of the glamour bust. It's just prettier! My event head is going to be a fairy girl! I have been wanting one forever and I think I finally found the perfect head with this event.

Exactly!! I bought her in tan and the fullset total is $700 with that option. A la carte would have been $517 for the doll win a faceup, and the outfit alone would be at least $100 + shipping. I also wanted the boots so I would have ended up paying the $700 just getting the outfit and boots if I had to buy them from separate splits. I look at it as getting the rest of the fullset for "free" haha! (At least that's the excuse I gave my hubby!)

I agree. The waist on the old A-line body does look more natural. That was the first thing I noticed when looking at pictures. It doesn't bother me too much but I was hoping they would leave the waist alone. I had a feeling they would mess with it because the Fairyline waist was different as well...

    33. Just ordered my Chloe on the new Aline body and got the Minifee event head as an extra so I decided to add a Moe boy body onto my order! Now I have my first boy on the way! :celebrate

      • x 2
    34. I do wish Fairyland would offer tan event items. I would have gotten the Ria in tan along with the MNF head in tan, so that the head can steal the body. Oh well, at least WS will still work for me. I just didn't want NS, since most of my MNFs are NS.

      • x 2
    35. Hands down, imo, the moe is by far the better standing poser (this is with tight stringing). It can't sit super well but if you're looking for some crazy standing it's the best one. I've only had the moe and then A-line with cutie but I would trust both to stand regularly for days without issue.

Part one of my Moe posing series, part 2 is even more insane and her head is on:

    36. That posing is amazing!! :o

    37. I have a moe and two model leg active girls and they all stand really well.
But it is entirely true that the moe body doesn't so much sit up straight as she leans in an invisible recliner. It's so much worse if you add clothes that are tight or bunch up in crotch and hip socket areas. I'll actually put my moe girl down in a kneeling position the second she starts being fussy because I know she won't cooperate.

    38. Just put a tan moe Mio on layaway, I'm so excited~! She'll be my first MSD and I already have so many ideas for her. I do wish the moe had smaller bust options, but overall I like the moe body much more than the active, it's just so cute~

      • x 4
    39. Ok, I did it. :)
I JUST paid off my previous DDE layaway a couple weeks ago, and Celine and Luka arrived this past week, but I'm quite taken with both the event head and Ria (her little teeth!!! And I think Ria may look more like a sister to my Chloe and NF 14 than Celine will).
I ordered Ria with the model legs and default faceup because I really like how they blushed her lips, and then I added extra hands and heel feet so I would be eligible for the MNF elf head.
She looks just like FLAM with elf ears to me. I'm so envious of my daughter's two FLAMs. I never thought I'd have an elf, but my little PKF and PKPK have tiny baby elf ears, so she's going to be their mother. Time to think of names for Ria and my elf!!! :)

Congrats to everyone placing orders! Events are such fun! :)

    40. Oh WOW! That is some insane posing! I haven't attempted all that with my Moe girls. Looks like we are going to have some fun haha!

      • x 1
    41. Oh wow! That is some incredible posing! Thank you so much for sharing. Now if only they take my message to heart about adding more bust options to the moe-line. When I messaged them about the A-line renewal, they said they would take my suggestions about more bust options for the moe to the management so maybe if more people message them about it they would seriously consider it. I really wish they would. I just can't do the larger busts. But wow...that posing is incredible!

    42. I'm tempted to re-shell my Celine into a Moe line torso with A-line legs, not sure if that would still pose as well. I'll have to test it since I have both bodies. I really like that the M-line doesn't have a joint at the hips like underpants. XD

Speaking of hybriding different Minifee parts, I remember someone swapped A-Line model legs and M-line boy legs around, so an A-line girl had the M-line boy legs and was tall and the boy had the A-line model legs and was shorter than the regular boys. I can't find the comparison anywhere for the life of me, does anyone remember who did it? I'd love to see photos for a comparison. I really want to M-line torso for my Nanuri 14 head, but don't want him to be so tall!

    43. Can't find the hybrid you are talking about, but I did find a video of someone hybriding the moe and chic together so you could have a smaller bust. That actually looks like something I might try. I love the way that looks. I really just wish they would add all the bust options to every body. Bah.

    44. @calmwater801 Ah, ok. I hope they take your post seriously. It seems a lot of suggestions get overlooked by them, but maybe with the petition signed it'll help.

That seems perfect. I've asked FL on their board what they're calling it, but that's probably what it is.

I agree with the sentiment that the Ria fullsets aren't selling as well due to bubble boobs and that they should offer multiple size options.
I get that they can't be adjusting their fullset clothing according to the sizes, but they should offer the option to go with a smaller bust with the understanding that the top will be meant for bubble boobs, so if it doesn't fit right that's your problem.

    45. I know this was asked a couple pages back, but has anyone done a mock-up faceup on the event head?

    46. That sounds great but it's a business nightmare.
Because for every happy person they'd get 3 who assumed, even when told otherwise, that they'd get an outfit that fits complaining, cancelling orders, asking to switch, spreading nasty feedback everywhere, and generally hurting business. Because they'd realize their decision was a bad one soon as the doll and illfitting clothing was in their hands.
(People still complain about tan skin issues and those warnings are even in red)

I sew for the small bust and cutie bust girls I own and let me tell you they are not a huge size difference until you swap tops made for the other size. Things don't fit right in surprising ways.
I imagine the big busts being shaped so dramatically different would be so much worse.

    47. @Elcia

Yea, I guess it's just a matter of which generates more business problems for them. They're not selling out as quickly on their fullsets as people would expect them to. Maybe it's just us and the numbers are just fine to FL, but maybe it is a bit slow to sell the product, so if offering different bust sizes would increase sales it might be worth the few dolts who don't read warnings' bad reviews.

    48. @kita8
That I can't say for sure without actually seeing FL's accounting paperwork etc.
But if they notice we seriously don't like their trends and have taken our collective money with us they will change things.
It is a carefully balanced waiting game after all.

    49. How fast do the limited full sets typically sell out for fairyland? I know Rohan took a bit and he had even fewer sets offered. However I know the minifee boys tend to not be as a big a sellers as the girls. To me it seemed like most people were turned off by the bust situation.

Personally I think the costume issue makes a lot of sense on their part. Although they could remedy that problem by making 25 sets of each bust size with 25 sets in the correct costume size, but of course I could already see the chaos. People getting sent the wrong costume size and just the overall extra amount of work that would go into it. So in the end it really makes more sense to keep the limited model to one version, one mold available in different resins. They just need to realize that that bust size may not be the one that appeals to most buyers. Perhaps they will pick a different bust size for the next limited release.

Another factor that played into it, is that I just don't think this sculpt appealed to that many people. It was pretty hit or miss like Rohan. I instantly fell in love with Rohan, but me and like five people did. Most people didn't care for him at all. They saw it as a rehash of Karsh and just passed it on by. And I think a lot of people saw Ria as a rehash of Sia, Celine and Rendia smushed together. For people who have those sculpts that wanted a sister or who like that look, they were all about it. But there were a lot of people who felt the same "rehashing" sentiments or just didn't particularly care for those sculpts and didn't want more of the same. They want something original.

Or it could be...they just haven't updated the page. They have one of the limited release pukifees back up for sale and I know there is no way that item is not sold out. So who knows? Maybe slow on the page update?

I also noticed the realfee limited fullsets from the last release haven't sold out yet either which I was really surprised by as well. I scrambled to purchase mine cause I thought they would go fast. Granted there are 200 total sets, but still. Did they overestimate how many people would want realfees? I'm curious to know how the sales were for the last release. I know the Rus did very well and sold out. Wish there was a way to know.

    50. I think that CP/FL is going to do what they want aesthetic wise until the sales literally grind to a halt. You can tell that from how long people have been asking to hybrid the two girl mnf lines and they have only allowed it one time. Every time they have the option to use the full bust they take it and so far it has worked for them. Also there have been quite a few expensive FL releases lately which may have been why this fullset was not as quick to sell out. I don't know if they have already allocated a certain number of orders to DDE but it could be that once those update then she will be sold out.

    51. Congrats to all who ordered! I can't wait to see some custom Rias. The new A-line body isn't exciting to me at all. I'd be more tempted if FL listed out the differences and improvements...and if it somehow made for improved head posing, I'd be all in :)

Anyhoo, please allow me to share my sweet Lishe, Kestrel, home after a whole summer at the spa! This was my first time sending off for a commissioned faceup and I'm in love. Angel Toast is amazing! :D

    52. Seriously? The one bust size I want, and it's not included in the A-Line renewal. I just want a freaking D Bust on an A-Line body. Is that so much to ask?

    54. Gorgeous! Angel Toast did a wonderful job :love

    55. Well I see it this way, as long as we continue to buy and support, they are going to keep ignoring us and do whatever they want to do. It's possible that there may be a head honcho who has a set character in mind like the rest of us and creates that vision as he or she see's fit. And us as the buyer we just have to deal with it. Creative freedom is what they always seem to go for with these limited fullset releases. It is how they interpret their sculpts to be. Rohan is meant to be a prince. Mirwen was meant to be witch. Mio was meant to be the queen of hearts etc. Perhaps they just aesthetically like big knockers personally lol.

But before we all go on a massive Fairyland strike, lets just see what they are going to do. Give them time to respond to our feedback and hopefully they will actually take the time to listen. In the mean time. I have been out of the hobby for a while and trying to get back in. I don't know how to post pics anymore so I will just paste the link (If anyone knows where to find he bbc link in flickr let me know). Here is Blake, my Rheia Boy who has been with me since 2013. Bless his sweet little heart for putting up with sitting in the drawer for a whole year XD

Look who is still here with me.

    56. wow, she has attitude! Love her

    57. Thing is, they were limited edition event items, which is why they are desirable. If they produced more, who's to say they would be popular. I love the Littlefee babies but I already have 2 from the second hand market.

I can completely understand the rationale of discontinuing some items and it is good that CP keep being creative. They can't keep making the same things forever - what would we all be putting our grabby hands out to get?

All the moulds will need re-making sooner or later and they are not mass producing (still a TINY market, though international) so keeping the number of lines down makes sense.

I think they need to listen to what people do not like though...like the porn boobies...;-)

    58. Why weird - you can do it yourself, it doesn't happen by magic! :-)

    59. Your Blake is adorable! I'm just now getting to my planned minifee boys. I'm excited to see pictures of other minifee guys!

    60. Hm, do you guys think Ria's full set outfit would fit on a fairy line body? It looks like the new body's waist might be thinner than the fairy line body?
