Fairyland MiniFee MNF discussion part 58

Is anyone else having trouble placing their order?? I'm putting in my address and it keeps saying it's invalid? What does it mean by 'detail address' above 'street address'? Am I missing something???

 

I am very happy, I can get my Ria girl in a couple of months time instead of buying her now on my credit card. I don't need the fullset I just want the Ria girl, I think she has a lovely sculpt, I love the mouth and the smaller eyes.
I like the event head but that might have to be brought later from the marketplace if any one wants to part with him of course, I think he is going to be popular.

Edit: I have been looking at the renewal pictures compared to the older a-line and I do think the waist is narrower and maybe even the hips are also a bit smaller.

 

Well putting my street address in twice seems to have done the trick... 8'D Ria fullset and adorable gift head ordered!

 

Ah I'm really confused now. I plan to order Ria and was going to get model legs because the cutie legs drive me nuts but the gapping in the knee is concerning. It will also be a pain to order model legs if the new cutie legs have been fixed. My moe body poses so much better then my a-line cutie legs, going to need to think on this one. :S

Very happy with the minifee event head, I've always wanted a elf sculpt but no far haven't managed to get one.

 

I am so happy to have ordered my Ria FS too! And an additional body for the Ria sleep head! I ordered it with Mika's head slapped on. I will always see that sculpt as being male, so I can't wait to see the large bust on that one when it is unboxed. XD I can pretty easily pick up bodies it feels like, but getting the sculpts you really want has proven difficult so I am thrilled to knock him off the checklist!

 

@Nekomuchuu I'm glad you see it too, that was my first thought when I saw her, her eyes seem a bit...off? To me the right eye has quite a round bottom lid, while the other has that sharper turn in it ( no idea how to describe it properly haha ).
Otherwise the head is really nice I think, quite new and I like how she has small eyes compared to fairylands normally quite big eyes So curious to see her with different face ups!

The event head though...oh dear, I think I'm in trouble! I'm not ordering anything but I really love that event head! She is indeed a lot like the flam head. What I love about the flam head are the lips, and this one has almost exactly the same I'll probably be doing some hunting for that one

 

Hmmz... To me the cuties look pretty much the same (they may be positioned a little bit different but it's still the same shape, I believe)... But this gap in model legs is much more significant in the comparison picture, which worries me alot :-/

Also, the model legs are not available in a-la-carte mode, anyway.

I think I'll just grab myself a Pukifee and run ;---)

 

I have two Minifees with Model legs that I purchased 3 years ago, I believe, and they both have that gap-thing at the knees.

I caved and ordered a Ria fullset in white skin. The MNF event head sold me immediately, so I had to get it. It looks quite similar to Luka.

 

Good to know that Reference photos can be deceiving. Seems like it ain't so bad, after all.

 

Just wondering, do the model comparison pictures look like they may be longer to anyone else?

I'm on my phone so I'm having problems embedding my screenshot but, there's definitely a gap when I have the top of the new model leg head hit the header border that isn't there for the cutie.

The pictures look like they're not 100% to scale. So the dolls may look slightly taller, but that could just be due to the individual pictures being slightly smaller or bigger.

 

That's my general assumption too, and I guess we'll know soon. I just could see that being a way to further distinguish between the two leg types.

 

Hmm....perhaps I am falling out of love with Fairyland? I honestly have not been swoon by them since the release of Mir and Mika. They are my favorite company and I don't know why, but I don't get as excited as the rest of you when a new release is out. Lately to me it just looks like they are just copying and pasting the same molds but slightly changing features and calling them a new sculpt even with their event heads. Am I the only one that notices this? I got slightly excited about the renewal bodies and thinking they are going to buff up the engineering and pull off some even more insane poses but to me it looks like not much was changed with them either. It makes me sad that I feel this way. It makes me hug on to my Minifee Rheia, and Celine a lot more. I do like what they doing with the fairyline though. I love the concept I just want more variety with sculpts.

 

A few thoughts -

1. At least 95% of the worried QnA questions could have been avoided if they had said that -
a. the new A-line will also be available on 2 Sept
b. the new A-line will be available in tan during the event and
c. the new A-line will still have all the same head/bust/leg options as the old A-line.
They must have known hat when they made the announcement.

2. I really like the event head. it looks a bit like Sarang which I already have, but I think the differences are enough to want both.

3. This could be my chance for a tan a-line Rohan girl. I might even get the default face up, which would take the order over £500 - I think I recall the rohan face being delicate enough to represent either gender.

 

You can buy the bodies but NOT the heads separate. And, yes, the event goes through October 15th.

Hello all! It's been a while since I've been in the MNF thread, but I had to pop in and freak out about the Minifee event head a little bit. I think I may have to try and get it in a split, it's so sweet! It reminds me a lot of FLAM. I also really like the look of the renewal body. It seems about the same, but the slimmer/curvier waist and reshaped legs are pretty cute.

I'm also intrigued about the heads shown on the renewal body - are they blank Ria heads? If so, they look very different to me with the default faceup. I think I prefer them blank!

 

Oh thank you! I think that's the best full face picture I've seen of Rohan and his make up would be perfect for my girl!

I ran my letter back and forth through google translate, and changed it around a little. I posted it in Korean, and the English translation below it. I also left a space if people wanted to leave an additional comment. I'm cross posting it to my tumblr, but feel free to share anywhere else. I'll send it to them in about a week, once there are more signatures, and hype from the event has died down.

That being said,I really like Ria! I especially love her small eyes and overall maturity,can't wait to see her with custom faceups!

 

There are a couple people who have tan female Rohan's. Rohan looks quite nice in both genders I think. It's actually a more feminine sculpt then his photo op showed. I have the LE fullset and was a bit surprised by how soft his features actually were in real life. He definitely looks like an easily interchangeable sculpt.

See...there is one now! Not sure if that is the one I've seen before. I know I've seen a pic of a blonde rohan wearing a red shirt before. Yours is quite lovely! So sweet looking. I think that is my favorite part about my Rohan. He has such a genuine sweetness about him. I see it carries over. Love your girl!

So I just caved and ordered Ria's full set through DDE on layaway. I can't stand trying to pose my cutie leg girls in heels so I took a chance and ordered the model legs. I hope the gap is just the angle or maybe her knees were slightly bent for the stock photo. I'm crossing my fingers she will be okay!

 

Omg finally someone responds to me *Does a little happy dance* It's possible that FL is playing it safe but I love when they take risks. I also Like Ria. Her fullset is very pretty and giving me a Mirwen homage with the witch theme being presented again. I also love the open mouth and her dreamy expression. I suggest Fairyland look at some real people and model their face after them and just exaggerate their features if they haven't already. Looking forward to the Ria Sia twin spam.

 

@pokori You're not alone my friend, I feel exactly the same way. I don't know if I would have chosen to call this a "renewal" but I'm glad FL will still give people choice between the busts and head sculpts. Anyway I do think Ria and the event head are pretty cute and have potential. And I do enjoy seeing how people paint the newer sculpts~

 

That's why I enjoy Fairyland so much they allow you to do a lot swapping that other companies don't. Not a fan of the new event head but I do like the Ria fullset and looking forward to seeing her customized. But I am safe again. Now if only they can make tan a permanent option and more sculpted hands, I would be happy.

The MNF event head is really cute! My first thought was edited Flam head, but I think the elf ears fit her well. I don't know if I'm going to get Ria but I'm excited to see her with different styles.

Well I settled on getting Ria in NS and TS plus an NS of the event head.
Weird that the Waitlist hasn't been updated at all yet.

@pokori I've felt the same about pretty well all the sculpts released since Mir/Mika and many of the sculpts before them, but I just consider myself picky, which is fine in this hobby.
I really like the Ria sculpt, and I'll enjoy having the new version of the A-line, but I ultimately definitely prefer the F-line body.
I'm waiting for the F-line A La Carte to be released with DES and Luka as options, as well as the smaller bust sizes.
After these A-lines I probably won't get anymore MNF bodies unless I absolutely have to.

They've gotta do a proper F-line A La Carte release some day, right?
That last one was so limited it was disappointing. And then they probably complained about the lack of customer interest when they didn't sell out quickly even though they super limited the sculpts and only offered bubble boobs.

Is the English translation a direct translation of the Korean copy, because it seems kinda wonky in wording compared to your original post?

A-line (Renewal) New Release Event

 

I am curious as to why instead of renewing A-line why not just combine the A-line with the F-line. It would make more sense wouldn't it? If you don't like the model legs, you could just swap em out for cutie legs, or moe legs as well as fantasy parts. We are generating all of these sub categories for all these heads that can practically go on all of these bodies. Just a have Minifee ultimate Fairyline active moe line and it solves all problems lol

 

@pokori I agree, at this point I think they could add tan skin as a permanent option.

edited - @pokori I think housing A-line and F-line together would make a lot of sense. Best of both worlds really...lol

 

How much experience does anyone have with WS from fairyland? I don't see it very often. Half the time dolls I think are WS, are NS or vice versa because of blushing. There is a picture of a minifee shushu that I'm obsessed with and makes me want that sculpt so badly, but I can't tell if she is WS or NS. Pretty sure she is NS, but maybe you all can help.

Not sure if that link will work. But that picture made me fall in love with that sculpt so much. I might like her more than Chloe now to be honest. So would you guys say she is WS or NS?
And beyond that, what is anyone's experience with WS dolls since I don't see many of them? Is it just personal preference that everyone goes for tan or NS?

 

I filled up my split in no time so Ria is coming home with me. She'll have the factory faceup so that will have to go but I'll leave it until I can afford to send her off for one. For some reason FL never paints their lips to the fullest potential and that blue eye shadow...that's what they really need to switch up XD

@pokori I have felt the same way for a while. Don't get me wrong, I like so many FL sculpts but only one called out to me from the get go and that was Celine. I just love an open mouth and teeth so you know Ria has me fired up. I really like her and she looks so different from other minifee. Very streamlined and mature. I'm with you about the hands too, we need more, lol. I think the reason that they keep the lines separate is to not confuse people and price point/casting. It takes more to cast all those removable parts and I can only imagine how many they have to toss if the piece that holds the torso and legs together doesn't come out right.

@Meggethann she looks NS to me. But I have never seen ws in person. I always thought it appeared more stark than the peachy tone that this Shushu has.

 

The only experience I've had with their WS is with the RealFee May I had and her accessories. It was *white* white. Like the color of printer paper. I remember someone was selling a WS May

@Meggethann I'm seconding the NS motion. She looks quite a bit darker than my WS Kai. WS was the only option left when I got my Kai, but I am thrilled with his color honestly.

@misskale Wow! That is paper white, my goodness! My WS Kai is considerably darker. I imagine him closer to a 'cream white'. I wonder if it really varies that much between batches.

@AaloriRian I know right? I had to snag a Celine as well those teeth alone sold me. And now he's been here with me a whole year now with no body or a faceup but I love him dearly. And I agree I am starting to like Ria a lot the more I look at her but I am dying to see culur or Angel toast paint her. Their default faceups are painted so heavy on them it's hard to appreciate the sculpt. And with all the new lines they are releasing, they are only making their load a lot more like I said to Aquadoe they need more people.

 

@Meggethann, I don't think I'd be much help either, I've had 2 beauty whites and all of them were 2010 or older - before FL changed the resin mixture. The only one I still own is my 2008 ShuShu elf head on a 2013 body (she used to have a 2010 B Line).

 

Oh wow! She is very white. Almost a ghost. Could be a crystal ice queen really. Yeah. I would then definitely say the picture of my Shushu I want is NS.

I also second @AaloriRian and you as well. It's not the 80s...a little less blue eye shadow and maybe change it up a bit. I know they have their signature fairyland look and really I shouldn't complain because to be honest they do have some of the best faceups in comparison to other companies (where what comes home is nothing like the stock image and not pretty at all) but it could do with a bit of an update or change. I get that it is supposed to be "fairylike" though. I guess fairies want blue eye shadow. But oh to have angel toast faceups come default on your order...could you imagine?

I just sent my final layaway payments in this morning for my giant bday/Xmas/life presents to myself of my FS realfees and hippogriffs to DDE so my slate is wiped clean there. That also means my bank account is a bit sad. But now I just have to decide who is coming home...Chloe or Shushu. I can't decide. I don't really want to order with a faceup, but if I get a tan Chloe I'm just under the price to get the minifee head. Bleh. I imagine it will take me ages to get around to sending her out for a faceup, but then I have to pay to have her face wiped. I need that minifee head though. Wouldn't even come close to the head if I bought the shushu though since I wouldn't be getting her in tan. Decisions, decisions...maybe I'll just buy the head a body? I don't know. Now I'm babbling.

When you wrote NR next to your sculpts, what does that mean?

 

I really like the smaller waist to hip ratio on the new a lines. Very pretty. I'm impressed they got the event heads and a line pics up already.

 

I went with NR to stand for New Release as that's what's on FL's sales page for the renewal body.
Usually there's a standard for acronyms on the wait list, but when something new comes along I think we all just try things out til one sticks.

@pokori I agree. I'd love a shorty Moe sized F-line. I've always hated that the forum is split between Minifee and F-line when they share so much.

What are the actual differences between the minifee and the f-line?

 

I see someone needs some Rohan love, Gwent is always up for the challenge!

 

F-line's engineering is different. As a human on the outside they appear pretty similar, but the F-line has a fantastically easy bust swap system (instead of having to restring the whole doll), and better posing abilities in the torso.
The legs and hips also can be detached without restringing, and so they can have a hybrid body (or if they offered cutie and model you could swap them easily).
So far they've only done a seahorse tail, but they plan on doing more in the future.

Thank you for the information. It's too bad all the dolls weren't made that way. Sounds much more exciting. Perhaps with the new fantasy art line, the f-line will get more attention down the road. I know they used similar features like that in the realfees for interchanging bodies. Seems much more convenient. Of course when it comes to practical, fairyland seems to say buy more dolls instead of thinking of making dolls more versatile. We shall see though.

Cara just arrived today--I got her from @anthrogirl on the MP and it's love!

Delilah is on a Moe with glam bust, and Cara is currently borrowing my blank Celine's a line model leg body.

 

I've got quite a few WS dolls, and they are very near paper-white when new. But they mellow over time to a really nice pale cream.

 

I have to say I'm relieved that the renewal line still has the cutie bust and legs. I'm excited to see more/hear owner reviews for the updated body!

I finished layaway payments for my minifee today and will have photos to share in a few weeks time once she arrives! I'm quite excited to own a minifee again, I'm a sucker for all those joints and how pretty their body sculpts are.

 

@Meggethann I agree with you. Fairyland bust their butts to try and give us something special as often as possible, I just wish they would tone it down just a little bit. Perhaps I am just spoiled by customs these days. My favorite default faceups from them has been Mika's.

@kita8 This is true we are all apart of the same big family. It would be cool to merge all the bodies together but I know that is only a dream.

And I have been enjoying everyone's doll photos and congratz to all that has purchased their RIa I am looking forward to looking at all of the pictures and seeing all the creative things you do with her. Also I wanted to point this out. Third time is a charm but I posted a few times on here before and each time I was ignored until now. I know that the Minifee thread has always been populated and sometimes post get overlooked. But please if you can try to respond to everyone, even if you don't know the answer to their question. Not speaking just for myself but other people who may be new to Minifees or those who may have been active here once but returned to watching things from a distance. I know it's not intentional but it can be frustrating feeling like you are being ignored. With that said I hope everyone is able to get Ria she seems like a step forward from the traditional Minifee sculpt. And I love her slightly open mouth and mature face.

The lip and philtrum are a bit bigger, but otherwise I swear this is elf Luka.

I'm sorry I can't answer your first question but I do believe the cutie legs are more popular. I think the shape is more appealing to people, but I'm in the minority as I like model legs better. They stand much easier so I prefer them because of that.

I LOVE Luka so maybe that's why I'm so in love with this event head. The eyes look very similar to Luka's eyes!

 

Not especially? A large number of my dolls are WS from various companies. To be fair, I live in SF across the street from the ocean, so my biggest issue is usually managing enough light to take decent pictures of my dolls.
