Fairyland MiniFee MNF discussion part 56

Nov 24, 2015

1. @sher Hahhahaha, I bet your crew LOVES their xmas sweaters!!! XD XD XD

Since Sher showed off her MNF crew, here's mine! I'm missing my MNF Mio since she's loaning her body to my NF :)

2. Haha!!! She totally looks like "I'm going to remind you of this one day and you are going to regret it, big time."

3. ahhh your crew, gorgeous crew!! that NF girl... oh I wanna kidnap her. and bambi. and....
So... this happened, um... wig by fantyfoo. At some point she will get a new faceup but I do quite like this one!

4. @sher That looks fabulous with her skin!

I just ordered alpaca wigs for my Mirwen and my incoming Rheia head. I like the getting ready feeling :) I also ordered some A line flats so the M lines won't be the only ones with comfortable shoes.

And ***big announcement*** I believe when Rheia gets here she will be announcing a baby on the way!!! (because I'm obsessed with Pukifees and need to order one ASAP--I just bought a dress for a doll I don't have.)

• x 1
5. What pukifee you going to get to match your Rheia? I always like dolls with babies!

6. I'm looking at a few in particular: Ante, Cupid, and Zoe. Whichever I get, I want the sleeping plate, too, because I have a weakness for sleeping babies. I'm hoping there's an event soon, but I do want to order within the month.

7. The thread is running so fast and maybe because of this i haven't seen any Dreaming Sarang yet, the event head. I thought it might be an intersting sculpt. So I decided to buy a head and make a face up :3nodding: More pics is in flickralbum

8. Oh wow @Annaku she is beautiful! This makes me reevaluate those blank event head I see in the marketplace all the time! I love the eyeshadow you have her, and the lips, she's got some sass!

9. It probably won't happen for a while, but I've been toying around with the idea of making a MNF version of the icon I use in most of the other forums I participate in. I have an idea of a couple sculpts that could work, but I thought I'd run it past all of you to see if there's a concensus. Here's the icon.

10. @Annaku OH she is wonderful!! she came out just gorgeous!!

@Kirahfaye oh isn't SHE cute??!?! well... the cute little turned-up nose is what's grabbing me most. Risse maybe? Marcia has a cute turned-up nose but her eyes are too wide and her mouth too pouty, this one has a slight Juri 08 smile.... who were you thinking?

here is another shot of my new tan liria... I"m totally smitten. I think she's insane.

11. *out of lurk & shy mode*

On bodies topic again, I have both and even with the Moe-line sitting little problem I like the heights and legs differences !
( My main regret is not ordering a B-line before , I'm afraid that it would definitely sold out ...)

@magneticobsession , that's so nice seeing you searching about your first minifee ( Rheia in tan will be a great choice :thumbup ) and congrats for your future order , I'm pretty sure that Fairyland will offer tan with their winter event ;)

And Liria spam , as I'm happy that she received her new wig ^^

Edit : @Kirahfaye, your icon is lovely, she reminds me a bit of minifee Eliya ( not the eye shape , but lips and nose are pretty close and the pointy ears too ?

@sher , your tan Liria looks insanely real , she's gorgeous !

12. @Kirahfaye I could see her as a Soony elf head, or NF head with elf ear mods! I love pointy ears, just about all my non pointy dolls are going to get mods to make them elven!

13. Soony/Juri and Elyia are the two I think look closest. I'm not opposed to doing ear mods, but I'd rather mod sleeping eyes.

14. do we have a database here of fairyland EVENT HEADS only? I love looking in the bjd database here on doa but sometimes it's disorganized, there are duplicate threads and stuff... I'd love to see a database of all the fairyland event heads, with and without faceups. I did search but - am I missing it?

15. @Kirahfaye LOVE her!:D What if you forward the pic to FairyLand as a suggestion for a future sculpt?

16. Sully's home! Arinae and she tackled each other upon her arrival, but once they calmed down I was able to take a nice picture of the couple snuggling.

[IMG]Arinae and Sully by Redrosette, on Flickr

I love what Angeltoast did with Sully. My only regret is that now the face up I did for her girl looks pretty bad in comparison. :( Ah well. I'll have to keep practicing and wipe and retry in the future. And a note that their tops are all made by the lovely Wovenflame.

@Kirafaye I'm seeing a lot of Rena in your icon, actually. Mod the ears elven and I feel like she's be pretty close.

17. @sher I love the Holiday photos! and sooo jealous of your girls wig! its beautiful. Im so happy you finally have your Liria!
@crazykimochi as usual all of them are stunning! your group is awesome!
@lilaseven shes beautiful in that wig!
@albeli I loooove those lil buggers they are all so cute!
@Kirahfaye I think a modded Eliya would be good
@Redrosette Angel Toast did a lovely job! her face painting ability is amazing and she looks great!

18. Wow! Stunning photos! I love them all!

In case anyone is wondering how a Minifee Active Line Girl body compares to the Fairy Line Body - I did a picture collage to show a few angles.

by Charm505, on Flickr
On my Flickr page I have more comparisons. I didn't release how much work Fairyland did on the Fairy line body. I apologize for the nudity of the girls but I think you would want to see the differences without the clothes getting in the way.

I admit the Fairy line body is a dream and really quick to pose. It's like - Bam! Sia is standing! My Liria Minifee is only three months old so I know she is not strung loose but her legs take a little finessing to stand perfectly. Also found out that my Minifee Liria can't borrow Sia's bra because Liria's shoulder's/top chest piece is wider.

19. Everyone's girls are so lovely!

@Charm505 Thank you so much for all of the comparison photos!

20. @Loodles ... "Loodles" --that's fun to say. How'd I end up with TWO? my cup runneth over, seriously. I'm so thrilled!!

@Charm505 AH I LOVE it when people do stuff like this. it's so helpful! at very first glance the look the same - more the same than moe versus A-line, for example.

21. @OkamiNoShiro - That makes sense 100%. I was thinking of getting my first doll that I order from DDE with a faceup, just so I can get an idea of what I like and what I don't. I can't wait to see how Megan looks when she meets the vision you have in mind for her! I am so excited for you!

@sweetandsourluna - Riley and Seorin look so cute! I love what Riley is wearing! <3

@Annaku - She is absolutely gorgeous; love the faceup & that photo is just lovely!

@lilaseven - Oh gosh I am so freaking excited about getting my first one! I keep finding all sorts of cute things for my future doll. I think once I order my first one, then I will start getting all of the extras (clothes, eyes, jewelry, etc). And thank you for the positivity concerning Fairyland's pending event. It would be great if they offered tan again as an option!

@Redrosette - AngelToast did a fantastic job on painting your doll! She's quite exquisite. Very unique! Congrats! <3

@Charm505 - I greatly appreciate the comparison photos! For those of us (aka me) who don't have a Fairyline doll, or a doll period - comparison shots & reviews really help! Thank you!

22. I asked the question on the Fairy Line thread, but I'll ask here also - could the FL neck piece (key) be removed and replaced with an S hook so MNF heads could fit?

23. Happy to show the comparisons. :D

Hopefully these pictures help people save money if they have plans to swap body parts.:daisy

I love to help and I love to photograph stuff so I feel like it's a win-win scenario. Yay!

Thank you everyone for your kind feedback and comments.

I have a few more comparison shots on my Flickr that you are welcome to review or comment on. Here is the Minifee boy compared to Fairyline Girl body with the gift boy torso that Fairyland gave out in the last minute. I really like this new aesthetic and I feel it offers more body shape options. [IMG]Minifee Boy vs Fairyline Gift Chest by Charm505, on Flickr

I plan to test some Minifee heads later today or tomorrow to see what will fit the Fairy line body and post pictures on Flickr and the forum. I found out that Mika's head does not fit on the Fairyline body which is sad.

24. I know there is a nice image of all the heads someone put together up until the RFA release on Flickr. Only the Juri 08 has a face up shown, the rest are the blank heads. I'm not sure if this is what you're asking for, but I hope it helps somehow.
all fairyland MNF event heads

25. it sure SEEMS like the only parts you could switch are maybe feet, hands, and heads. no torso switching for boob size like you can do between moe and a-line.

@Shiyaria I did see that, and had it as a favorite... I really wish I could find an example of each WITH a faceup. I just have a terrible time telling what a doll looks like without a faceup.

26. @sher - Honestly, Fairyland should have illustrations of each sculpt with and without faceups. How are we supposed to have any idea what they look like with one?

27. For the least amount of mod work I agree with Eliya being your best choice.
I personally think Rena's mouth is a closer match but you have to do both ears and eyes.

And someone mentioned pouty mouths... I just realized FL or I should say CP likes to sculpt pouty faces, especially lately

28. Rena was on my short list, originally, but the fewer mods the better. SD size Soony has been on my grail list for a long time, so the Soony/Juri is one I've been leaning toward. Her problem is that pesky neck opening issue. The problem with Elyia is she rarely shows up on the secondary market.....

I wish I was responsible for that great artwork, but it's actually something I found (and bought) a long, long time ago off of one of the digital community website.

29. Annnnnd! I just bought a MNF Juri/Soony head! Well, actually, my husband agreed to purchase it for a Christmas present. LOL! I guess I found my icon's sculpt!

• x 4
30. Thanks! I'll make sure to update and post a picture once she arrives! :) But that is exactly what I am thinking. Going to start with the stock faceup and go from there. Who knows, maybe it will be perfect the way it is! We'll see.

31. @Charm505 Thank you for the pics! Seems fairyline is thinner than minifee! Can I ask, In what way does Mika's head not fit? Would it be doable with a mod? Do you think other MNF heads may work? I would love a MNF/Fairyline hybrid one day....

@Kirahfaye congrats on picking a sculpt! Excited you will have your very cute icon in doll form soon!

That pic of all the event heads got me 2nd guessing..... Does anyone have both or either new family 14 and nanuri 14? Can't decide which I like better. Which is more easily obtained through the marketplace?

32. Hello everyone, it's been a long time since I last posted here, but I've been keeping up and admiring everyone's dolls! I've been plotting on getting all the character's from a story I'm working on so hopefully that might take shape down the line. I wanted to post today since I got my main girl all together (hopefully for the final time, she's gone through 3 incarnations so far, all 3 Chloe heads, just different colors and bodies). She is a Minifee Chloe head which I have yet to paint since she just got back to me, on a mix of Minifee and Chicline body parts. Her torso, arms, and hands are all Minifee with the #9 hands and Full bust, while her torso, legs, and feet are Chicline. I'm really liking this combo so far! If anyone is interested in me comparing her to my other Minifees and Chiclines let me know.

33. @Loodles , thanks for my girl, I think this blue color suits her better than pink ^^ ,

@Charm505 your pictures are so great for seeing all differences between the bodies, thanks again ! (now I understand better why Fairyland made two separate lines for each , at first glance they do look the same but in fact it's not so easy to mix and match them !)

@auten01, wow your Chloe looks like a model ^^
yes please, more comparison pics :D

34. Ahhh, so much doll excitement right now! Lilith is on the way back from getting her faceup done and she should arrive to be today or early next week! I'm not super looking forward to restringing her because it will be my first time restringing a Minifee. But, restringing experience is good for me because my other doll plans have suddenly changed...

Somebody on FB posted their Soom Afi for sale this morning and it looks like I was the first one the message the seller about it! I haven't seen one for sale with deer parts for a reasonable price for so long! It's usually Ai that pops up for sale, so I jumped at the chance to grab my dream girl for Christmas! I'm crossing all of my fingers and toes that the sale will go through. :D

Anybody else have unexpected Christmas doll plans?

That Fairyline boy body is so cute! I don't have any plans on getting male dolls, but I might have to reconsider if Fairyland releases a cute Fairyline boy in the future.

35. Thank you for linking to that image! Very helpful. :)

36. Mika's head doesn't fit the Fairyline Body because the turn keys on the necks are different. The Minifee turn key is slimmer than the Fairyline Body and hides the s-hook. On my flickr page you can see what I am saying - here is a link to that specific image: Head Comparison
The current theory on how to get Mika on the Fairyline body (mentioned in the Fairyland Fairy Line thread by Kirahfaye) is to remove the whole turnkey off and put a bigger s-hook. Hope that helps :)
Happy to help with showing the difference between the bodies. :)

All right everyone, here is what I got in terms of a quick reference on Minifee heads on the new Fairyline body:

[IMG]Minifee Heads on Fairy Line Body by Charm505, on Flickr
In this photo composite I only show up to the neck and a little shoulder but on my Flickr page you can find whole torso shots with the Minifee heads to get a better idea of how body to head size looks. I show face side shots to show if the turn key or any weird gaps appear. Sorry for a lot of blank faces (no face up). I haven't gotten around to painting them. Juri 2011 was a face up I did back in 2011 or 2012 (she definitely needs her face up refreshed).
The only head that needs a little sanding to work on the Fairyline body is Minifee Siean, but I believe it is just my Siean because this event head doesn't allow the turnkey to lock on the Fairyline or any of the Minifee (Male and Female) bodies. All of the other heads displayed here fit the Fairyline body with no problems.

• x 3
37. @Charm505 Thank you so much! You have been super helpful with the pictures and explanations! Looks like my next doll will be a fairyline/mnf hybrid!
I do hope Fairyland releases another fairyline soon. Ideally with hooves haha

38. Yay! Happy to help! I totally agree with you on the hooves! I'm dying for them to release hooves and a Fairyline boy and if he comes with the hooves - Wow! I would be done for!

Oh and about Mika! I found something out yesterday and I'm posting this picture to show first:[IMG]Turn key Comparisons & Mika by Charm505, on Flickr
I found out Mika's head did not want to fit on my Minifee Girl body (body came with Liria originally)! I'm starting to wonder if Fairyland crafted a specific turn key neck piece just for Mika's head?! I guess a possible solution would be to just widen Mika's head turnkey hole if you want him to fit on different bodies?

• x 2
39. Great comparison shots! Also, I think it may just be your Siean head. I have used mine on both male and female a-lines with no problem with the turn key.

40. Thank you for the picture! I was actually hoping to maybe put one of my floating heads on the F-line body, so they could share until I could order her a body, so I was getting alittle disappointment that she might not work.
Maybe Mika doesn't work because it's a smaller head that was specifically designed for the smaller moe body? The moe boy body just looks so tiny to me, though I haven't seen it in person.
And of course the Soony head hardly even works for the regular minifee bodies T_T (though I still plan to try to get one at some point haha)
On another note, this is basically all my grails in one picture LOL

• x 1
41. LoL, that is what I thought! Thank you so much for confirming that probably just my and maybe one other person's Siean's head was sent from Fairyland without being sanded enough to fit the Minifee bodies. By the way your Siean looks pensive and lovely!

It was a fun project to test out these heads and to make a contact sheet. LoL, Mika is a lovely troublemaker! I agree that the head was probably designed for the Moe boy body. That said, I ordered him from Fairyland on a Normal Minifee boy body and he works fine on that. I have the suspicion that Fairyland crafted a specific turnkey for Mika's head size and uses that specific turn key on whatever Minifee body gets ordered.
By the way, I hope you able to get all the grails that you desire so that you can enjoy them. :aheartbea

44. Thanks so much @PepelsPeps ^-^

@auten01 , what a great combo , I love seeing comparison pics , so interesting ! ( out of curiosity, do you know if your Chloe was dyed with Rit Dye product ?

45. Went to a bjd-meetup today, been a loooong time since i've attended such meetings, was fun though! Lillans body hasn't arrived but a friend let her borrow her a-line, so I got to take cute photos of her and this badass Breakaway-lady! ;--)
Sigh, I need to send Lillan to get a new faceup.. I got my hands on a Juri10, she'll go to get herself a faceup along with Lillan, and juri10 will get her mouth modded! Not a big fan of the blowfish-look.. :D

46. I now have an outfit and have ordered a wig for my soon to be minifee Sarang14....

I am going to get an m-line body with the glamour bust for her.

Leekeworld have a sale on so I have ordered a premium mohair wig from them.

Exciting!

47. @Sienimies wow they both look awesome! What sculpt is Lillian? I still have a hard time identifying sculpts sometimes. Love her shoes! Also, I never thought of breakaway as a girl, my mind is blown! She does look badass!

48. Oh, dear - modding a Juri 10? Braver than me, @Sienimies!

49. Bummed out...looking through the Leeke wigs and all the ones that would be perfect for my Regency Era Mirwen character are sold out in all colors. :(
Looking at some other wigs they have that might work...

I wish I could take a better picture. My first minifee! She's so cute. I just got her head back from Angeltoast. I don't know what else to say. She makes me happy.

52. Awe I'm sorry to hear about the Leeke wigs not working out for you. Hopefully they create some more soon. What style of wig were you looking for?:daisy

53. She's stunning! I love AngelToast's work. Itchy to get my LTF back from her and get a January slot for some MNFs.

I wanted an updo in a brown color. Something early 1800s/Regency Era. I saw a few that looked like what I wanted but all the colors I would like were sold out. I'm watching a wig on the bay of evil, and I wish it was a buy it now instead of an auction. I like the color, the front is up, and I could put the back up or down. I'm waiting until I get Mirwen's hair settled before buying anything else for her babies (a PKF and PKPK) because I haven't ordered the babies yet, but I've bought dresses for everyone!

Sylvie (Mirwen) will be the mother, and I commissioned a gown from Kalcia on etsy that will look like this gown for the most part (no cape), fitted for a full bust but with a slightly higher neckline, and some standing lace at the neck like in the second link.

Rapunzel regency style set for Mini Super Dollfie MSD Minifee Volks Luts Soom Fairyland super gem disney

https://www.etsy.com/transaction/1079042836?

I bought little white lace gowns for the PKF and PKPK, a hand knit blanket, and some crochet outfits for the little ones.

I've picked out names for Sylvie's children: Daphne, Phoebe, and Gigi. The third name is for a LTF--either LTF Chloe or Bonnie. These are the de la Roche ancestors of my Chloe and NF characters, Coco and Mimi de la Roche, shown in my avatar. The LTF Chloe was originally going to be Coco and Mimi's little sister and be called Demi.

I also have a LTF Bonnie (Belinda/Bibi) coming back from AngelToast soon, so I have enough LTFs to have one per group. I just need to see how they all look and decide where Bonnie and LTF Chloe go.

My Nanuri 13 (Natalia) and Rheia (Olivia) are sisters and my LTF Leah is in their group. They are Coco and Mimi's cousins.

54. @Sienimies Your girl is gorgeous! And that female breakaway is awesome~ Not to mention those outfits are amazing.

@brightberry That face up is amazing! Congrats on her home coming from the spa~

I feel a little self conscious now, but I wanted to share a photo of my current project of making Christmas outfits for my girls.
I plan to make a long sleeve shirt for Ambellina probably black to match her overalls. And I think I want to find tights for both of them as well if I can't make them.
Jemma is a little more straight forward with her festiveness.

55. Wow! Those are beautiful dresses and your ideas are lovely. Is this the type of wig you had in mind? Leeke World
I'm just trying to picture it all. Hope it all comes together nicely for you because it sounds like you have a nice story growing with your bjds. Angeltoast does beautiful work and I'm sure everyone you send out will look fantastic. Thank you so much for sharing :aheartbea

56. @Shiyaria Their outfits look great! I can't wait to see them finished. I wish I could make myself sit down and sew. I don't have the patience for it like I did when I was younger.

Yes! That was my first choice wig! I wanted either dark brown, champagne, or auburn, but would even take a darker blonde.

I saw the same one on bay of evil, in blonde, listed by someone who bought it to fit a MNF but it was too tight and wouldn't stretch past 6.5", and I measured my Mirwen head and she's 7".

There were also some others that were similar but I ran into the color problem again, plus the worry it would be too tight.

I posted links to the things I've ordered for the babies in my Coco and Mimi thread:

Wow! Thanks for the link to your girls! They are gorgeous! Hopefully you get the wig of your choice to complete your girls.:kitty2 If I ever find that or a similar style of wig with the colors that you wantI'll send you a DoA pm to let you know.

My Mirwen's sleeping head seems small & I thought 6-7 would fit her. Mirwen is a beautiful sculpt & probably my personal favorite besides Juri 2011 (super happy Juri) for girl sculpts.

58. Awww, thanks. I love my girls. :)

I was surprised Mirwen measured 7". She does seem smaller than my others, but I didn't take time to measure them. I think because that wig has the braiding instead of having all loose hair, the cap can't stretch. I checked the next size up for the same style but didn't have any luck.
