@karrigankat That was me asking about the Mirwen. Thank you for your input! I was worried that I had purchased the wrong size, but had also heard that Mirwen had a much smaller sculpt. Thanks for chipping in on that. It's good to hear from someone who has owned both the Mirwen and Soony.

 

Thanks everyone for your input/discussion! I have 1 b line, 4 a lines(and 1 on the way) and 1 m line. I love both in different ways and I think that is one of the great things about Fairyland dolls. They are so customisable with lots of options! I probably won't be getting another m line body. But those hip bones and back dimples makes me consider modding my a line! And I would like to eventually swap a bust.....
My MNF army is growing steadily..

 

It's a new week and I thought I would share my Mika's beach rendezvous.

 

This is a late reply, but I have a MNF Mirwen, and well... I ordered a number of crobidoll and lichwig wigs in 6-7 some time ago, and after just testing them on her I can happily say they fit just fine, if a little bit snug. You probably wouldn't be able to fit a silicon cap under, but it's snug enough that it won't just fall off... :]

 

Sigh you keep making me love Sia more, and you're making me want a Mika now too! Stop that (Love this photo, it's so good!)

 

@sanachii Thanks for your reply! It's a relief to hear that the size I got should work from all of you, because I really like the wig.

 

Makes my day when I know I can make someone else happy. I love it that you love Sia and Mika. He is a fun sculpt to have around. These two have been inspiring me a lot lately.

My DES SP arrived last night! I was startled to find the "delivered" notification on my tracking as I was about to go to sleep. My door is at the back of the house, so I went around front in the rain and found her in front of my upstairs neighbor's door, along with a giant box of Xmas presents I'd ordered from Amazon.
Thank god no parcel theives had gotten there yet.

I plan to have the eyes modded open as I love the shape of her face, but find the default eyes too big.
She's almost exactly as yellowed as my Juri 08, so they'll be able to share a body for now. She seems to be less green, however, which I'm grateful for.

 

Congrats with her! Glad nobody found the packages and snatched her up though..! I don't recall ever seeing a SP to OE mod on a DES head before. I will patiently wait for the result! Sounds exciting!

 

Has any of you ever needed a spontaneous change to one of your minifees? Like, 'this doll needs change and it needs it now!'
At first I felt my Liria was perfect and so in character, and looking all nice but one day my view of her suddenly changed? I worked up a few more layers upon her faceup, gave her a new wig and is currently waiting for her new eyes.

lol, yes @kia20... I painted my DES, and now I'm in the process of wiping her. Your Liria is really unique and beautiful!

to the A-line and M-line debate, well I think I like the A-line more but I like the butt dimples on the M-line. M-line feet/ankles are weird too me and look fat and swollen. Those little curled in toes creep me out, they look like they have pointy toenails. I like the long legs of the A-line maybe because I am tall? But I like the M-line bust, but M-line girl doesn't pose as well as my A-lines. I will admit all 3 of my A-line girls are waay kickier, but their range of motion is better.

 

I can't wait to see her mod. I'm glad nobody took your packages!

 

I love both A line and M Line. I'm a big fan of A-Line cutie legs (and agree that they can be a total pain, ha!), and equally love the Moe torso. Eventually I'd love to have all three (including B-line)...the subtle differences in shape make for great group photos.

Just paid another layaway payment for my full Sia, i'll be sticking my Mika on that body~

I preferred the M-line to the A-line.
It think its a lot more aesthetically pleasing for me.
( I just couldn't pass up the easy change system on the F-line which is the only reason i'm not keeping M-line anymore. )

 

Seeing all of your dolls makes me so happy, yet so sad that I don't have one yet. I am impatiently (giggles) waiting for the next tan skin event. I can't wait to get my first Minifee. I just want to open that box and smile when I see her face for the first time.

 

I thought I'd just jump in on the a line verses m line question-- I'm not a fan of how big the moe busts are, but the rest of the body is very cute. I have an a line Liria and she poses really nicely and her proportions look fairly natural. I just don't care for the large, pushed-together chest on the m line.

@kita8 your DES is really awesome! I can't wait to see her modded. I'm looking forward to Fairyland repairing/replacing their old molds so I can get one! (And Soo, and Ari, and the list goes on...)

Well...I Doll was on the 6th...Do you think Fairyland will announce their winter event soon? I assumed they would probably post something after they settled down from preparing for I Doll. I guess we'll see! I keep checking every day. It will be better for me if it's a ways out. I need to sell some dolls to make up for all I've spent on Christmas presents )

I have to check out this M-line body everyone has been commenting on. I've only ever had A-Line girls, which I love. However, I'm curious about the one piece torso and hips.

Did anyone get to see Fairyland' booth at I Doll?

 

I thought that they would announce the event either the day of or the day after I Doll. Obviously that didn't happen I'm hoping to possibly place an order with Christmas money, since I blew all my dolly money last event haha, so I guess that's okay! I saw that couple people posted pictures from the booth on Instagram and tumblr.

Oh goodness! You're so cute, your comment gave me the biggest smile and I hope you can get your girl really soon!

 

I like all the bodies, currently I have one M-line, one B-line and four A-lines with different combinations of bodies, two of them are hybrid busts. I find that all of them pose well enough for me but I'm not the best poser (?) of dolls anyway. ^^ Also: Come ooooon Fairyland, announce your Winter event so I can spend some money!!

Irma is less exited to have more family members but I'm totally waiting for it so much! I just got a photo last week of my Sarang from the talented Jesmoth and I'm so exited to see the rest of the heads I gave her. LOL. NOw the event in and I can spend some $$$!

 

Wait until you order her. Any idea what sculpt you're going for yet? The wait for my Mirwen is killing me. She should be shipping this month sometime. I already have her wig and clothes ready to go! I check my email all the time waiting for a shipping notice. So in the meantime, I have spoiled Thea. She has a new outfit coming tomorrow. :P

 

I am VERY excited! I have wanted one since October, but didn't really know enough about them to make a good first choice. Now I am a lot more knowledgeable and am ready to go. Hehe.

Ooh yeah! I am totally going to go for a Rheia in Tan on the A-Line body I think. If I can, I might order two dolls... the second will probably be a Mirwen in Tan on the A-Line body as well. Not 100% sure though on the 2nd sculpt and body, yet.

When did you order your Mirwen? I hope you're able to get her soon soon soon! Would be awesome if it was before the new year!

@magneticobsession I ordered Megan at the very end of October. Her processing time is getting close to being over, so I'm hoping she will ship out soon. XD She is an M-Line body like Thea. But I agree, it'd be nice to see her before the new year! I've got my holiday break coming up from my University, so it'd be perfect timing. I'll make sure to post a picture when she gets here.

Welcome to the madness of bjd collecting! Saw your post in the facebook fairyland group. Always awesome to have new people in the group- can't wait to see how you will customize your girls! I will say it is worth it to wait for what you want and the way I try to do it now is wait for events cause then you can get bonus heads (or parts) to either sell or keep. During the release of Risse the red riding hood girl whom I adore and bought they released the New Family event head and tbh I love that head more than the Risse head she hogs the body most of the time (I need to buy another body)

I keep saying my next one will be my Rheia in Tan but they keep releasing things I want (Sionna, Sia etc) lol so she got put on the back burner. My hubby wants a Rheia in NS so she will come first considering I have got the last three dolls :O I want a NS Mirwen as well so we are in the same boat lol!

 

If you want to order 2 dolls, I'd suggest ordering through Denver Doll Emporium
They offer layaway, which is great for if you want a doll (or multiple) but don't have the full amount.

This is good advice. I went direct through Fairyland so I had to pay all at once for Mirwen, but my fiance just ordered her Realfee mermaid through DDE on layaway, and she is just making payments. She has done that several times, and really likes that option.

 

i order most of my dolls through dde just so i can spread out the payments, it is especially nice to not have to pay up front for a doll that doesn't come in for 3-4 months. then if it does come in early i can choose to pay it out if i want and get it shipped right away.

 

I've only ordered directly from Fairyland once, but that was because I had enough money on hand, and the order was large enough to qualify for free shipping. Everybody else was ordered on layaway/pre-order deposit.

 

I also like ordering through DDE! I am very thankful they offer layaway. It helps me a lot. I also like doing layaway and slowly paying for the doll and if it comes in early I can pay off the balance and have it shipped quickly.

If it wasn't for DDE and their layaway, I wouldn't have gotten my Liria.

Jumping in with the A line vs M line debate i've owned an Aline boy body for a while & still have the M line boy to play around with. Asethtically I like the M line body (at least clothed it looks very skinny compared to the Aline) pose wise I like the Aline body.

 

Happy Holidays all! I was so excited to find these sweater/hat Christmas ornaments at Michael's on my lunch break today. They are nearly a perfect fit for Minifees, heheh!!!

 

Those sweaters are adorable! I haven't seen ones like that that fit so well. I'll have to go to Michaels this weekend to see if I can find some.

 

Those were Christmas ornaments!? I never would have guessed it. The hats are so stinkin' cute!

 

On the topic of bodies, I have both! And I like both, depending on which doll I've decided needs which body :3 They both have pros and cons, my biggest complaint about the m-line is that it doesn't sit properly for me, lol~ a-line cutie legs bother me since they're not 100% even (so I'd go with model legs if I ever get another a-line).

Pommie is finally back in one piece! So stoked that you can actually see the pink in her hair~ I'll have to take some time to get used to her wearing 14mms! *x*

About the M line sitting problem, I was wondering about using a dremel to make the hip opening rounder so that the upper thigh would fit in better--the way it's designed it's a bit square.

 

Thank you @albeli ! That sounds like a good idea, but I'd be too scared to attempt it, lol!

 

It feels less scary than attempting faceups again. And I was an art minor.

After googling a bit I found a blog that describes the same type of mod on a resin soul doll that has the same sitting problem! I may tackle this sometime soon.

It's a mod that used to be quite common to have to do to a lot of different sculpts; an experienced modder might not even charge you much for that. It's pretty simple, as mods go. My very first mod was doing that to an Iple EID body. The old ones can't sit upright worth a darn unless you fix their hips.

Edit: Now that I think about it, I'm surprised a company like Fairyland, with their posing engineering, did not check that the Moe body *could* sit fully upright before going ahead with production. Odd, that.

You're all brave to be considering those mods. The most radical thing I've done is sand down a doll's nose.

@OkamiNoShiro - Aww I will keep my fingers crossed that you can get her before the year is out! That would be a wonderful surprise for sure! - I am so undecided on what doll I want. I've seen two pre-loved ones that I like, but am back and forth on... uh, this isn't easy at all! But I know for sure that my first order with DDE will be a Rheia in Tan! LOL

@sweetandsourluna - LOL it definitely sounds like we are in the same boat! There are just so many beautiful sculpts, bodies and hands to choose from. (Our poor wallets). I can't wait to get them all customized too. I found FantyFoo on Instagram and she makes BEAUTIFUL wigs. I would love if one of my future girls could wear one of her pieces. It seems like they sell out rather quickly though... but I love a challenge hehe.

@thakyuki - Oh thank you for the advice! That is one of the things I recognized about ordering with Fairyland VS DDE. DDE does the layway and when ordering more than one doll that will definitely be a convenient option, especially since the dolls don't ship the next day anyway.

@Dustbunnie - Oh you are SUCH a tease! How could you do that to my poor little heart? Hahaha. Your Rheia is GORGEOUS! Gosh I love those eyes on her. She is made up to a T!

The two I have right now are both second hand. I have the DDDy Yoko Littner that I got from a guy online, and Thea, my MNF Soony Elf, was from my fiance. Mirwen (Megan) will be my first NEW one, so that's exciting too. Took me a long time to settle on Mirwen, though. I went back and forth between her and Chloe for a long time.

 

Oh gosh that's so exciting! I can't wait to see Thea with her partner! Mirwen is such a beautiful sculpt. It's all in how the faceup is done that really makes features pop, and Mirwen has such a strong facial features that she will POP! Will you be doing her faceup, or commissioning someone to do it? The Soony Elf is your avatar, right? She's so cute!

 

Right now, Mirwen will just have the default facup from fairyland. Once I get a feel for the charachter a little more, and see how she progresses, I will probably have a custom one done. Not by me, I'm not that talented. XD I do like the default for her though, as well, so we will see. If I do have one done, its going to be bright colors. Megan is going to be a themed with bright eclectic colors. Lol.

And thank you! Yes, Thea is my avatar. She does have a custom faceup that my fiance had done when she first got her.

 

@Rosslyn I completely agree that FL should have fixed the sitting up problem on the M lines before releasing them.

Love all the talk of Mirwens! I wiped mine and was going to send her to AngelToast but missed getting a slot so I'm waiting. I suppose I'll send her when I send Rheia.
