Fairyland MiniFee MNF discussion part 56

I've found a few that say 4.5cm which is the same length of a Moe foot, do you reckon they'd fit? Or would they be tight? I think they're YoSD size too

 

They might be worth a try. The problem is that Moe feet have such a high arch, they sometimes don't fit even into shoes that are long enough. I have Aileen in a sort of stretchy pair for YoSD now. I fought to get her into them, but they do fit! You just sort of have to order with your fingers crossed, lol. Here are the ones I smooshed her into.

There are a few people on Etsy who sell shoes specifically for Moe. I have a pair from Summomo that are perfect.

 

I can vouch for Summomo's Moe shoes. I have the basic Moe shoes in four colors and they are perfect.

I have a Liria and she came with 14mm eyes, and they're very large, and very little of the white shows. Unless you have a Mio, 12mm will probably be fine. I'm going to get 12mm eyes for Liria so she looks more "grown up" instead of so innocent.

 

@RayRach I've had 12mm Mako eyes in my Celine for a long while and have only recently decided that I want 14mm for her! The 12mm didn't gap at all, I just want a different look for her

I haven't had any problems with gapping unless the doll started out as a sleeping head like my VE Chloe since she was modded to have open-eyes!

 

I have seen quite a few cases of this, and everytime someone has recieved a body or head WAY darker than it should be, it has been recast. A lot of the recasters tan colours are redder and more chocolately than the legit one, and this body fits that rather well. I would recommend contacting whoever you bought this from. I do not believe this is made by Fairyland. They haven't made this dark tans. And by looking at the bust part, the line between each breast doesn't seem deep enough.

That's what I was thinking, too. I believe only the B-line has ever gotten this dark of a tan, and that was from Luts a number of years ago during special releases. Plus there's very little nipple definition, and all Moe chest pieces from Fairyland include magnets in the back.

 

I'm too new to have seen a recast, but that was the feeling I got when they said there were no magnets and how dark the body was. If it was purchased through DoA there are rules in place against this, so if it can be confirmed a recast then let a mod know. Fairyland might be able to help you determine if it is theirs or not.

My Celine wears 12mm eyes, but many others use 14mm. The whites are fine in either side, but some have pointed out that the 14mm may be easier to pose the eyes with.

The DoA Minifee Wiki has each sculpt and an estimate for eye sizes for each sculpt. If there is a particular sculpt that you want be sure to ask again here, since owners will know better.

 

I take it you mean DoA not DDE but no, it does not look right to me, and the missing magnets issue is an obvious 'tell' of a recast.

Another shoe option for those of you looking for the Moe body is to check for "Effner Little Darlings" size shoes, intended for the 13" dolls. They're a few sellers on the bay of Evil. I want to say the larger Betsy McCall shoes also fit but tend to look clownish.

 

Thanks to everyone who was kind enough to help answer my question about the possibly recast body. The person I traded with has agreed to take the body back since it's pretty obviously recast and I've purchased a new body for Liria! I'm really excited to be able to join this thread when the body arrives.

Hey everyone! Hopefully I'm in the right spot! (I'm still fairly new here.) I just thought I'd share a picture of my first MNF, Thea. She is a M-Line Soony. Thea came to me in an impromptu purchase from my girlfriend. I am still waiting on my Mirwen to ship, and was admiring Thea while visiting her over the Thanksgiving break. She mentioned she was thinking about selling Thea, and I really liked her face, and the doll in general, so we struck up a deal and I ended up taking Thea home with me.

 

I'm glad you were able to resolve the issue with no problems. It is quite obvious that the body was not made by Fairyland.

@WindGuardKT, so good to hear that the issue has been resolved. I don't have either a tan or Moe body so I didn't feel qualified enough to comment, but I did feel the others were spot on with the recast verdict. Glad you are getting your money back and a new body for Liria!

 

I LOVE how her eyeliner matches her hair! Tan dolls with blue or greenish blue wigs has been a favorite combo of mine for so long. Gorgeous girl!

For any who are curious I have posted some pics comparing the F-line to the majority of the Minifee body types.

I'm slowly getting my doll supplies together. After the new year I'll be getting a DSLR and really vamping up their clothing. Pretty sure I don't have enough to fully clothe them all, and I don't like half the stuff I've bought.

Today she's teaching him the fine art of Christmas ball gazing. Apparently it's a lot like using a crystal ball but pertains only to Christmas related concerns.

 

elfonda looks like she is taking it very seriously, not sure you can say the same for flame

 

I'm curious, how different are Fairyland faceups on each head? I just received a SP head to my OE head (both Liria) and they're different. Their lips are pretty different, very noticeably when having the heads next to each other. Is this normal? I feel like it shouldn't be too much different, Liria wasn't offered for long, unlike other heads that have been around for years.

 

Poor little guy might do better with his Christmas Ball gazing lessons if I wasn't too lazy to change the position of his eyes?

 

I think Flame looks remarkably serious for a Soso. That's a great photo, @Wovenflame.

 

Faceups are made by hand so no two is 100% identical. Mixing pastels colours isn't a perfectly precise science, and neither are brush strokes

 

i'm always amazed at how close some artists can come. i can't duplicate mine at all. that's why i don't usually bother with sleeping plates, since i do my own faceups the dolls wouldn't look like the same doll awake and asleep anyway, but instead two different dolls , one of which just happens to have their eyes closed

 

Yeah, I consider an artist who is able to "twin" the open eye and sleeping heads well worth the extra cost they charge!

No Minifees?

 

Oh, that's really cool. Preview dolls to buy and a head for any sd body...wonder how that will work given the unique fl system.
I'm sorta hoping this becomes something they do more often.

 

Correct me if I'm wrong but I see nowhere in that announcement the mention of a winter event...? It just seems to be an announcement that Fairyland will be participating in a japanese convention??

This is where they mention the Winter event and no mention of Minifees, I am both sad and happy, I don't think my bank account is talking to me at the moment.

 

Ooooh thanks! I have to admit I'm also happy there are no minifees in the event, as my Christmas event dolly budget is already committed! :P I'll be getting my Siean a body, I'm pretty excited to finally be able to show him off.

Of course I do not mind^^, I got her shoes on the Ldoll festival in Lyon last year when I went there, but sadly I do not remember the name of the girl who was selling them, they are hand made, and she had only 4 pairs on sale and I got two of them, they are very well made. I am sorry I can not help you T__T. I wish I had bought all of them when I had the chance, but I could help you if you need me to, since I am planning to go there again next year and I hope she is there again :3

I don't think they said anything about not having Minifee at the Winter Event, they just said those were the Pukifee for the Winter Event (and they are so adorable!). I'm still waiting what they will have, I'll anyway order something from then until the end of this year. Long wait ahead then.

That's exactly what I was thinking! They might still have a minifee for the event, just don't want to announce it just yet. I do love those pukifees though. I wont be able to bring em home because I planned to start saying to buy my poor floating minifee heads bodies, but the winter pukifees are so cute.
And Fleur is so sweet! Aww!

 

Personally the doll in the pictures under the PukiFees looks like a MiniFee to me. I could of course be wrong.

If she is a MiniFee I like her outfit, her face is cute but I'm not a big fan of her face-up. She could of course be the Feeple60 sized head they are talking about.
