Fairyland MiniFee MNF discussion part 55

Sep 12, 2015

1. He's amazing! I really love his eyes!

2. Wow Loodles i love your Karsh i want one so bad but ive got alot of dolls in the past year so he will have to wait:-(

Sent from my SM-G920P using Tapatalk

3. I love Dillon's faceup, especially the eyes. Who did it?

He looks great!!! Don't ever put a shirt on him! :DAnd the faceup is perfect! Is it by burnt toast? ETA Oops, sorry, angel toast?

4. Thanks everyone! Yes albeli it's by Angel Toast, he got a bad SP to OE mod and he got fixed and a new face up. I love these shirtless boys. Lol. Do it vicemage ! I'm controlling my spending until October now!

5. Totally not what anyone was talking about, but Flemeth got her proper body!!

Flemeth and Bryagh

6. Thank you! Sadly her cheek has flaked somehow so I'm going to be sending her back when I can to get it redone >___< I love it so much. Kai of Darjeeling Aesthetics did it. She has a shop on here.

7. I'm doing the exact same thing! And trying to figure out how the pricing might compare to the regular MNF pricing so I can be more sure of how much I need to "stash" to be able to snag one. (As well as hoping that they do offer male and female versions so I don't have to do mods or splits...)

8. I'm pretty sure everyone will be talking now! Is that a chic line or m line full bust? Either way, yowza! Also, love the dragon and the wig.

9. Thank you! It's a m-line full bust, good eye!

10. Ooohh lala look at that posing! She's quite the vixen

11. That does it. I'm going to have to order heel feet and FL resin shoes for my moe girls. They aren't even here yet and they have me bowing to their every whim.

12. Congrats!

and....teach me the dragon trick! *snickers*

Oooh, Sexy! Do you have a name for him yet?

13. Quickly dropping by with some Liria spam. :aheartbea
[IMG]

14. Has anyone else who has a Liria noticed that she's actually strung well? I've ordered 6 bodies from FL over the last year or so, and 5 of the 6 have been strung way too tight. They're heads just snap all over the place. Most refuse to look straight ahead without some very fine fandangling (I'll be hot glue sueding them eventually) and love to kick any chance they get. Even my Rheia that arrived with Liria is like this.
But Liria, she's all sunshine and lollipops to pose. As good as my Juri 08. Leaves me wondering whether or not they spent more time and effort in putting Liria's together.
Or maybe by luck-and-chance the one good doll I got out of 6 just happened to be Liria.

15. Shes so beautiful. :love I love her face.

16. Mine is the opposite. My Liria is very tightly strung and the worst of my 8 Minifees.

17. I sure hope tan skin is offered during the fall event. I think we're all on pins and needles waiting for more info on the 7th :)

Love her eyes! I am waiting on my first four pairs of mako eyes (just got pics of them from our go leader last night) and I'm looking forward to upgrading everyone else in my group in the next group order.

He's beautiful, I love his face up.

I got some doll time over the weekend, and even took a few pics. Here's more of Zahara:

18. I'll only be in trouble if FL offers a F65 boy in tan - my next MNF should be a normal skin Chloe. "Should"........ LOL

19. I think you just had good luck! My Liria was very tightly strung, and made it so her head was either up or down.

I'm sad that I don't even have a name for my girl yet :( I haven't had the energy to do much with her since I've been back at university.

20. LuckyXIII his name is Jace. He'll be getting a new wig soon.
Shuklyah her hair and eyes work awesome with her beautiful face! I feel Liria's face up is so versatile.
Nikki'sNewObsession I love her sleeping face! She's so beautiful.

21. Thank you for the Zahara's spam! :aheartbea

Photo belongs to Rakeru Space but I wanted to share the amazing job she has done on my Chloe!
Shuklyah She looks lovely and I'm glad she arrived safely!

23. Mechromancia She looks absolutely stunning! When my Soony arrives and gets sent off for her faceup, she's going to have those vertical lines under her eyes too. Good to see that it looks great in the final product!

24. Lol, I love that you said "should"

Thank you :)

Anytime ;)

Gorgeous, I look forward to seeing more photos of her once she returns home. Congratulations. :)

Ren also had some time, showing off her crop top by crazykimochi:

25. She looks so striking!

Argh, you're killing me! I want my Celine and Chloe! :atremblin
I'm going to go play with my LTFs. They haven't changed clothes today...

26. @Nikki'sNewObsession, something tells me that crop top has an ..... interesting view from below. ;)

27. Nikki'sNewObsession She's definitely working it!
Kirahfaye Dat underboob doe. :p

28. Whilst playing with my LTFs I realized that I'm ok with Bibi not having a custom faceup, so that is some money saved...that I will probably spend on heel feet for my moe Chloe and Celine, which, as I noted previously, are not here yet (Chloe was a late August DDE order, and Celine was purchased last week on the marketplace and is coming from Norway). But I have ordered wigs, eyes, lingerie, clothing, and flat m size shoes for them. $$$

Also, what's a better eye putty than Leeke? My LTF came with nice eye putty that was sticky/tacky and just a tiny bit was used. I take it that was fairyland eye putty? I was just using some Leeke putty and I was not impressed.

And to make this clearly on topic, when I order those MNF heel feet, how do you feel about the resin fairyland heel shoes? I like the black ones a lot. And might also get the red ones. Or are inexpensive heels from the bay of evil a better deal? The heels that would fit the Tonner Ghastly one.

29. I really like using this one that Luts sells, it doesn't seem to ever dry out! I've heard of people using earplugs(??) too!

And random spam of my cursed princess of Arcadia, Vienna!
Vienna by Tina, on Flickr

30. Thanks for the putty info.

How could she be cursed? She's so beautiful.

31. @Mechromancia - That's a very striking face-up on your Chloe! I can't wait to see her wigged and on her own body. Beautiful!

@crazykimochi - Vienna is gorgeous! So is her dress. Is that part of Liria's fullset?

@albeli - Mack's Ear Plugs are soft silicone and are recommended as putty for silicone eyes, such as Eyeco and Soom. I've also used them for glass eyes, urethane eyes and acrylic eyes, with no damage to the eyes. You can get them in a pharmacy for around $5 for a package of 12 plugs.

32. I haven't heard of using ear plugs with silicone eyes; honestly, I've always heard the opposite! I do use them myself, though, for all my eyes; I've found that they're much more predictable in how they "age" than other kinds of putties. (I've scraped out some nasty old eye putty when switching out defaults for newer ones; generally the older earplugs lose some of their grip and will push out fairly easily, with minimal extra scraping.)

Well. I went ahead and stashed some money away for that Seahorse sculpt. Fingers crossed that I can make it work for me, and that it's not suddenly more expensive than the amount I stashed. (And more fingers crossed that it'll correspond with an awesome event AND some tan events so I can order up the LTFs I'm saved for, too! It's a wonder I can type anymore with all these fingers crossed...)

33. Thanks for the ear plug info. I'll go look for some.

This leeke putty seems like the type that would harden like cement instead of staying nice and sticky.

I'm also going to look for the sticky stuff sold for holding posters on the wall.

34. Sorry if I post this in the wrong spot, but how do faceup artists and others get such good lighting? I have a light box, stands with lights, etc.. cant get the same bright lighting as a lot of pics I see.. what am I doing wrong?

35. Safrindoll recommends the ear plugs for the silicone eyes they carry, including Soom.

Soom recommends Jovi Plastilina (a modeling clay) but they are sold out. They also say to use white rather than colors; however, if you go to the Jovi website all you can get are colors, or else multi-packs with white and two or more colors! If you do use this, get the one that's safe for children. Don't get an oil-based Plastilina. It's not good for resin. (Just as you never want to use oil-based pastels or pencils when doing a face-up.)

I recently bought some of the poster tack (Aleene's Instant Tacky--but there are other brands) to try as eye putty. It takes a fair bit of pressure to get it to stick but once it's in there, it sticks well. And it's white, so no danger of transferring color to resin or eyes.

I've gotten some absolutely wretched putty in some of my dolls. I don't know what it is, but it's so soft and sticky it's like trying to remove chewing gum. Yuck!

36. I wouldn't use that. That stuff hardens and then has to be scraped/chipped out (the stuff for sticking poster to the wall)

37. I use a kneaded eraser for most of my dolls' eyes. It's highly prone to getting knocked out of place, but I've found it's much easier to position, and much easier to remove. I've used Soom eye putty, but that stuff "dries up" within a few months, causing the eyes to fall out, and has to be re-kneaded to get sticky again. Fairyland putty definitely holds! Unfortunately it's a pain to get eyes OUT, and takes a while to clean up all the little bits, and quite hard to position and reposition.

38. Thanks everyone for the advice on eye putty options. It's very useful information.

I really loved the Fairyland putty that came with my LTF. I wish I could get more of it.

39. I highly, highly recommend Mack's silicone ear plugs. They're literally the best thing ever.

Also, got my Liria... still can't decide if I like her or not. I feel like I should get her a face up to really see if I do, but on the other hand, I don't want to spend the money on a face up if I'm not keeping her. =/

40. Still kicking myself for missing Liria, but at the same time, I know there will probably be (see already are) plenty of other FL sculpts that I will want in the future!

Shoved my boy into some shorts today, I think he loves them, but of course we will be needing more clothes >,<;;; Until then, here is him in his Moe Boy slender body and silver short-short goodness!

41. I can finally join in the army of minifee owners! My Liria arrived today, and is already quite opinionated on what she wants to do. Now I just need to find a job so I can buy the Celine I've been wanting since forever >.<
[IMG]

42. Congratulations on your Minifee! I hope you can bring home your Celine soon, I really love Celine's :aheartbea

Just one of the photo's I took of Max today, I am really enjoying her and feel that she has inspired me to take photo's again. It has been a slow year for me in the hobby but I have that spark back again thanks to this little lady :XD:

43. No worries, they are worth the wait. :)

Lol, yep...

Lol! Thank you ;)
yeah, what Tina said..lol

Vienna is gorgeous as is her dress! Its awesome seeing all your new girls coming together :)

Max is very pretty, and I'm happy to hear she has been so inspirational. It's always nice to have a character that motivates you to do, more. :)

44. Are you good at visualization or drawing, or do you need to see it actually done? Maybe look around for examples of custom faceups? I know someone posted a few links in the past few days, and she can do a range of looks.

Seeing him with his blonde hair in metallic go go shorts is giving me very strong Rocky Horror Show flashbacks. :sweat

Congrats on finally getting her! Is she doing a Betty Draper thing?

Love the pic! I like the contrast of the moody lighting and the sweet little dress.

Thanks to everyone who gave eye putty suggestions. I found some Mack's silicone earplugs and will be trying it out in a while.

45. @ abeli

I had to look Betty Draper up, I hadn't actually heard of her before lol! Elara WAS gonna be my mori girl(and prior to that an empress) but she looks really good in that dress so now she's gonna be all dolled up 50's style, and now I know of Betty Draper I'm gonna draw a whole bunch of inspiration from her outfits!

46. Not to sound stalker-ish, but I've missed your dolls too! You'll have to post lots of pictures

47. Wow!!! Both mermaids are gorgeous! And I really like the sculpt of the minifee, I wish I had more money^^
And here is my gorgeous girl Phoenix:
[IMG]https://c1.staticflickr.com/1/593/21655409966_1e494fc9c1.jpg

48. The Betty Draper wardrobe on the show, especially when it was set in the 1950s, was really awesome. I hope it provides you lots of inspiration.

I'm safe. I feel nothing. Her face almost looks like a one off of the Liria sculpt, but maybe it's the odd angle. And I'm not a fan of her being part seahorse. Is there a different word for a half-seahorse/half-human, or is she still a mermaid?

I will be very interested to see future releases, since they are calling it a Fairy Line.

Oh, Nekomuchuu, you snuck in on me! Your Pheonix is beautiful!!! I love the white design against her tan skin! I love the Mirwen sculpt.

As far as my MNF updates: I have no idea when my Chloe M line will get here (depends on FL and DDE), BUT the Celine M line I bought from Lady SleepsAlot passed through the New York post office yesterday, so I think I may get her by Saturday! Her wig is already here. AND, I bought a lovely Mirwen head from Wovenflame as well as an A line body from luckeegurl36, which should both be here by next week, so I will finally be able to join the MNF club for real! I'm so excited! :dance I also ordered a wig for Mirwen, and that should only take a few days. I have temporary wigs just in case.

Chloe, Celine, and Mirwen are my favorite MNF sculpts! I'm so, so happy! It's like a dream to be getting all three, and I can't say enough good things about what you can find if you do some careful browsing in the marketplace forum.

I also bought a pair on mag on heel feet from cinfelix. I'm thinking I may give Celine the A line body, and then give the heel feet to the M line Mirwen. I'll need to see what kind of heel feet the A line body needs. I'm sort of hoping it uses the hook feet because I can get hook on heel feet from DDE.

49. Vermont chick, I'm in Deep South Texas near the gulf cost--it's extremely humid here. And yes, hot. I think the Mack's will be fine.

And as for the Leeke putty I bought from DDE, it was so disgusting. I got it under my fingernails when I was applying it, it wouldn't roll into little snakes to circle the eye, and then it wouldn't stick so I had to add more and sort of pack the eyes in. And removing it was so messy. There were tiny bits of it all over my bed. It's pretty much worthless. Only $2, though. I will probably throw it away.

50. necomuchuu She is sooooo beautiful! :D where did you get her horns.... ? Thanks now I need a tan girl!!

51. Since my post was carried over to the new thread line in error I had better add it back on here. I currently have three Soonys, which is far more excessive than I ever intended to be. One will have to go but I'm not yet sure who!

Anyway, here is my latest Soony who arrived in July. She needs a name so any suggestions are welcome.

[IMG]Soony love by chocchip, on Flickr

I'm totally smitten with your Phoenix. She is gorgeous. I love her eye shadow and lip colouring.

52.
53. smudge, your Soony is so pretty!

I've been having trouble naming my FL dolls because I already used up lots of the names I like on children, pets, my reborn dolls, and by suggesting them to my younger daughter for her Pullip dolls (such as Chloe). And I don't want to reuse them. So what I've been doing is taking the general name of the sculpt and changing it to a nickname I realy really really like. My Chloe will be Coco, Celine will be Cece, and Mirwen will be Mira. Maybe kinda lame? IDK But it's helping me come up with names I like that I wouldn't normally think of.

54. smudge, how about Penelope? Or Lesley? Or Lulu? Pepper? Haha - I look at her and I see a 1960s girl.

55. Thanks for all the name suggestions. Kirahfaye, I had thought of Piper but Pepper seems more fitting. I also like Penelope. penguinspalace, July would fit too! albeli thank you. I like your nickname idea. The names you have chosen are very pretty. I especially like Mira.

Just one more photo from today, this time it is of Rose.

[IMG]Every Rose has a thorn by chocchip, on Flickr

56. Hee hee, I named one of my flying squirrels Penelope. I gave them all names from Greek mythology.
My cats all have Jane Austen names.

Rose is gorgeous!

Thanks about my nickname idea. It's working for me so far. If I keep the Nanuri 13 head she'll be Nina. My LTFs are Bibi (Bonnie) and Lila (Leah).

I totally get the hair color thing now. That wig really is perfect. They're all very beautiful--perfect faceups, hair, costumes. Just lovely.

And yes, one of my male cats is named Knightley.

57. albeli I think you have a full house!!

58. 3 kids, 5 cats, 2 dogs, 2 flying squirrels (not sugar gliders), and already up to 2 LTFs, 3 MNfs, and a MNF head. I found out about MNfs a little over a month ago.

Yep. Full.
