@Rinoa depends. It's not totally clear what body you're pairing with which head. Maybe a few more specifics? Mostly, you just don't know until you try, in my experience.

Thank you @Vindalootoo . I really like the Mio sculpt and couldn't resist her when she came up in the marketplace. Yes, that little one is trouble! They also just arrived and is making themselves known to all the others.

 

I'm probably going to use a Bluefairy Jr Blossom body as I've done with the one with the Chicline headback (although not 100% sure if their resin will match anymore). I'll test it out as I have the single jointed BF body. I was planning on getting the newer double jointed one for both my old hybrid and this new one.

I was considering the Dream Valley 1/6 girl body but saw a video where the person modded their headback to do it, but they said because the string and S-hook wouldn't fit so was thinking a smaller s-hook or something might work.

 

You say you used the chicline headback...do you mean the one they make to use an LTF on the chicline or the actual chicline head? I've never had the LTF head back off the body, but since that chicline one is designed to be used on the LTF, I'd think it's very similar. I put that one on a Doll Family H 35cm and had to fill the hole with apoxie in order for a simply s-hook to work.

Yes sorry I get confused, definitely the one designed for LTF to go on Chicline. I bought it directly from FL. LTF headbacks don't have the hole the chicline one does. I didn't need to mod it to fit an s-hook tho.

The other one I've got thought is a LTF one, so would need subtractive mods possibly. I'll have to get it out and try it and see.

 

Ah! That's what I used in the picture. The LTF head back is quite different, but subtraction is easy. Resin sands very easily. I've never had the head itself off, but it looks to me like all you might have to do to accommodate an s-hook connection would be to widen the existing slit and put in a cross-ditch to lock the s-hook. Dremel w/b easiest and quickest for the cross-ditch, but a simple file would work. Good luck!

The eyes I ordered for Ante finally arrived! They are the first resin eyes I have bought. More things are finally getting close so I’ll take full pictures soon but here are the eyes set. I got the eyes from Bhiner and there’s a seller on Etsy with the same pictures for nearly twice the price so I wasn’t sure what I would get, but I’m happy with them.

@NineOneThree Is it these?And which size did you buy? I'm totally in love with them. These are the first I've seen that might work for Wiishu and I've been looking for eight years!

Yes! They are size 14. There’s a seller on Etsy selling them for over $50, I couldn’t believe the difference in price. There are some other eyes on there from other shops I was interested in but I only bought one to try Bhiner out.

 

Thanks for sharing where they're from. I've been looking for purple 14mm eyes for my Littlefee Shiwoo for ages (to upgrade from the basic acrylic purples)!

 

They are more blue than purple but definitely look more purple if that makes any sense, lol!

I made a little hat out of a sock today. The weather is bad so lightning isn’t great but when I complete her full look I’ll show the hat better.

 

They are both gorgeous! Cute hat!

 

I think I have 1/8 down but I’m struggling with photographing yosd size. I can’t make the photo show how good they look in real life, I have to find the right focal length and maybe I can get better pictures of them outside when the weather gets better. Anyway here’s an updated picture of Ante, I’m starting to figure her out I think.

 

If that's what your "still learning" picture looks like I can't wait to see what comes next!

I'm also not the best at indoor photos, partly because of lighting and partly because it's harder to find a clear background. It's mighty tempting to start rearranging furniture with doll pictures in mind, but that would be ridiculous, right? * laughs nervously while sizing up my spare room *

I have wished I could rearrange the room, lol! I just use scrapbook paper or artwork as a backdrop indoors, It makes it portable so that I can get the best light. I also do not have a lot of props yet so I feel like my pictures might look boring. I love outdoor photos with pretty backgrounds, foregrounds, pretty light, and beautiful soft bokeh but we rarely have nice weather. Then when it’s nice, you have to put something down on the ground to sit on because it’s always wet.

 

A quick snap I took of Ichi-chan. Its not his bedtime yet, but he's ready!

I have wanted to try out Bhiner for a while now, so I ordered a pair of purple eyes too - lol - I feel like a copycat, but I really was looking for a pair of purple eyes and yours are beautiful! The eyes I ordered aren't for Ante though. I think the whole process of ordering from Bhiner is definitely a different experience.They do a really good job of letting you know what to expect though.

 

I don’t consider it copying at all. You’re right, it was a different experience and it’s worth figuring out when you see so many things on there being resold on Etsy for twice as much.

 

I have some new things on order for Ante but wanted to get a new pic since it was a little nicer today. I just wish spring would actually come so I can take pictures outside.

Hello!
I've just gotten my Hwayu (2nd hand but legit) yesterday and her faceplate keeps falling off?! I've fixed it with a tiny bit of putty now and the wig is also helping but I'm wondering if that's normal? The seller said she came like this from FL (they ordered there directly)
Not questioning authenticity but just confused because she's me first Littlefee and my 2nd BJD in general (my 1st was a Minifee a while back and my others are DD and Smartdoll)

Usually Fairyland will send the LTF with two extra magnets. These are for the holes at the top of the headback and faceplate - you place the magnets into those holes to solve this particular problem.

You can see the magnet hole in the triangular piece in this photo, there is a corresponding hole in a LTF's headback:



One of my LTF Lishes has this problem - generally her faceplate is held on by the plastic wig-cap she's wearing.

 

Congrats on her arrival! She is super cute, but yeah, some LTFs like to throw their faces. Mine fortunately are very snug on their headbacks, but I also never received magnets with mine as they were all secondhand. But my dolls with faceplates that suffer from "face-throwing-itis" got stuffed full of eye putty.

 

Yes, that's what I thought should go there, the seller said there never were any magnets though
Maybe I'll go look for some but for now the putty is doing its job too
Could I put in the magnets (if I find fitting ones) with some super glue? Or might FL be willing to send some if I'm ordering something else? I have no experience with their customer service yet for this stuff

I *think* you can look for “Rare Earth Magnets” to fit the diameter of the spots. Just test them before flying so you don’t accidentally set them in the wrong polarity.

 

if you're like me and no amount of testing can save you from yourself, I've had good luck with the freezing method - stick part in freezer, forget about it for a few hours, go "oh no my doll", and wiggle it out.

I need all of my dolls to be able to share parts as much as possible, so I have had to do a lot of magnet swapping.

I feel like I've plastered her all over the internet in my excitement but here is my new girl. She is a tan Ante I got secondhand in a trade that I've named Baybee. She's got quite a bit of yellowing so I'm hoping the sneak preview tan dolls fairyland showed a few days ago will mean that they'll allow orders for other dolls in tan. I'd like to get her a new body in tan and save the yellowed one as backup!

I just realized...I ordered these but never got them. Anyone know how long Bhiner takes to fill an order?

 

I've ordered from this seller before. It takes them awhile to make the eyes like up to 2 months. Then I know there are shipping delays even locally right now because of covid.

I just realized, when I went back up to drop them a line, that I had not! My first time on the site and while I read the procedure, I thought I'd get notifications when it was ready to ship/pay, but those never came, and dodo here didn't think to follow up! Fortunately, I think I'm still in the holding window.

 

I check once a week when waiting for the second payment notification in case the message doesn’t show up but it is easy to forget sometimes.

 

@Vindalootoo I ordered at the same time you did and have gotten mine - but I see you figured out what went wrong. It was my first time ordering from them too. It was a bit complicated, but now that I know how to do it, I will probably do it again. They have some nice stuff. Good Luck!

 

I got a blank LittleFee Shiwoo. I have done the face-up and now I'm trying to decide which wig looks better.

Very cute! I personally like the darker wig!

 

I like the wig on the right better. The one one the left is a bit short for my tastes but go with what feels good!

 

I also like the wig on the right. It looks more natural.

Personally, I'd like the cut of the right wig better as well, but I like the colour of the left one better!

 

Oh...SWEET job on that precious "widdow" face! I'd tend for the darker one as well...unless he want to cosplay a medieval laddie. The red has a perfect "bowl cut" look for historical, and the way you've done the faceup, the reddish tone goes really well. He's seems to have that slight redhead flush.

@Dollquest Thank you! Mine are indeed on their way now. I'm very excited to see if Wiishu likes them. That is, of course, the ultimate deciding factor.

 

Everybody (including myself) seemed to prefer the darker wig though the idea of a medieval lad was fascinating.
