Fairyland LittleFee Discussion Thread - Part 34

Hello!
This is my favorite baby Tauriel!

 

Today, I received a faceplate that I have been wanting for literally years, a littlefee Soony. Soony was the first doll I ever fell in love with way back in 2007 or so, but by 2016 when I actually got my first doll she was discontinued, and probably too big for me anyway.
When I learned there was a Littlefee Soony face, I immediately started trying to find one, but it took me a long time!

She is borrowing a body for this photo because she hasn't got her own yet, and she is having her faceup wiped because I am sending her out to get her eyes opened very soon, but I am so overjoyed to finally have my baby.

 

I am SO HAPPY for you!! Now please don't make me want one like you always do with dolls, we'll never see another ^^ Can't wait to see her with eyes open

@perfectionismxx How great to finally find a doll you've been wanting for so long! Echoing what @lilibet said, I can't wait to see her with her eyes open when you've had a chance to truly make her your own.

Adding in some seasonal spam of my own, since seeing everyone driving around with Christmas trees strapped to their car roofs this afternoon has got me feeling festive.

hii! first of all i just have to say all of your dollies are just precious!! i have a question about littlefee hybrids tho, if any of yall can help me i’ll really appreciate it! i want to get a littlefee vampire head but attach it to a different body. im not to sure how i should go about that. can i buy a head just by itself? what body would be a good match? thanks so much in advance & if this isn’t the right place to ask im so sorry feel free to delete!

 

@Ivke - I have never made a littlefee hybrid, but I understand they can be difficult to assemble because you will need to find a headback for any face-plate that you may have. Fairyland used to sell headbacks for chicline that would work for littlefee faces and they had a limited run of headbacks during the Realfee release a couple years ago but I don't think they're currently in production. Your best bet is probably the 2nd hand market.

Someone with more experience please weigh in!

@Ivke You can't buy littlefee heads separately direct from fairlyland, and the headbacks are much harder to come across second hand than the faceplates. I really wish they would sell them separately, but they don't

Thank you! Autumn has a standard FL faceup (as does Shelby), and Rand's was done by Pam Ford to be a smaller version of her own 2005 Elf Lishe girl. One of my hopes is that FL will sometime get around to making a LTF Elf Lishe faceplate.

 

Oh... she would make such a qt elf. Now I want that too!

 

I searched and scrolled a lot but I cannot find the answer to this even though I know it’s here somewhere but are the feet difficult to remove?

 

No they aren't. Sometimes my littlefee's feet get stuck in well fitting shoes and detatch from the ankle.

 

I imagine that’s not fun trying to get them out. I cannot get the feet to move on mine.

 

My littlefee always wear socks with their shoes for that exact reason! Before I started doing that I once had one so stuck in a shoe I was worried I was going to break it getting it out. Now, if their feet come off in their shoes, I can pull them out using the sock xD

 

You need to tilt (push) the toes toward the leg, until the heel part comes off because there is a little bulge the protrudes from the ankle joint (and a corresponding "dimple" on the foot piece) to help prevent them from coming off when you don't want them to. Don't pull the feet straight from the ankle joint or it won't come off very easily.

Unless you don't want them to come off and then they seem to fall right off as @lully.lullers said

 

I think that's why they come off with shoes. Cuz I tilt the foot as I take of the shoe

Thank you, I was trying to twist like you do for the hands, I guess I didn’t think to check the manual but it’s all right there. I see how they would come off easily when removing shoes now.

 

I needed to know this since my poor girls have to share shoes and the feet keep getting stuck so I just switched the feet.

I ordered new hands from Denver Doll and they don’t fit, maybe I’m missing a trick. The littlefee I have is from Denver Doll made in 2021 and the hands were just bought last week.

 

That happened to me too! I think FL made a bad batch or something. I emailed DDE and they gave me a replacement pair which did fit my LTF.

Hellow fellow Littlefee Lovers! I hope you are all having an amazing day thus far. I just wanted to share a recent Littlefee Hybrid I took on with you all. I'd be curious to know your thoughts on the proportional differences ^.^

 

Very well done mod! For all my modding and hybrids I've never tried to put a LTF head on something else, so I hadn't really thought about how it'd need to be done. This is elegant and functional.

 

This is tempting to do in general to my LTF headbacks. I am cursed with three that were assembled with dark magic and NO s-hooks inside the body, making them nearly impossible to take apart and restring.

I would love to make my Hwayu a bit taller and have been waffling on getting her a new body eventually.

She looks wonderful! Great proportions. I ended up doing a mod like that the first time I had to restring Wiishu. What on earth was FL thinking?

To which I wanted to add:
After my high fallutin' comments about buying from the company and not getting the tempting little Pong at DDE...guess what I did? A little Pong came available on the MP right when I desperately needed another body double for Wiishu for a show...And I succumbed. I thought the little face was going to go into a box, but I found these eyes in the stash, put them in, put on the white wig...doomed. He has just the right combo of sweet airhead for me! Not sure what his name is, but he'll definitely come out to play and get at least one outfit just for him.

Sigh. I'm so weak...

I don't know how much taller you want to go, but I wanted a taller body for Wiishu's "snotty, high elf counterpart" and Doll Family H came out with this very pretty, relatively inexpensive 35cm body. I modded the headback FL sells to put an LTF head on the ChicLine for it and got a very nice fit. The resin match isn't great, but it's a beautiful resin. Would probably take dye very well. Haven't gotten an outfit for him/her yet (Yrlani is hermaphrodite) so please pardon the lack of modesty.

Every time I have tried to adopt a full doll with the intention of just using the body, it has NEVER worked out. They always stay their full selves, and it's back to the drawing board on the body-snatching. It's like they know what is up and try their hardest to look as adorable as possible when you open that box.

 

So true! I've got multiple Shiwoo faces destined for different expressions for my Wiishu, mostly for photostories. But he's been guest of honor at a couple of cons and I finally decided multiple Wiishu-doubles in his fancier outfits that are hard to carry around was a good way for him to display himself in a case in the art show. But on a day to day, I've now got three little characters who need their own special outfits. I'm going to be very busy this year when I finally get the craft room operational again!

 

I know! I have bought heads for dolls to "give them a different look" and then have had to find bodies for those heads because they took on a personality of their own.

After drama over a second hand purchase was finally resolved, I decided to get Ante brand new. Because I was discouraged during the process I didn’t really prepare for her so I’m not settled on her look yet but wanted to join the thread and share a quick picture. I know this sculpt is one of the most common but she’s the one that got me interested in Fairyland.

 

I think you will love Ante. She has such a look of wonder and she can look quite different depending on the eyes and the wig. Littlefees are usually very easy to pose and I just love their size!

 

Congrats! I'm glad you got your little girl. She's darling.

I debated whether to adjust the stuffing for the feet, but those pink tennies poking out underneath were just too cute and so reminiscent of the "good old days" of costume competitions.

 

@Dollquest, I do love Ante and she’s drawing me in…now I want Leah and maybe one or two others so far

Thank you! He certainly tries. Since I go to SF cons rather than doll cons, he has managed to convert a few people...and cause others look askance at your truly! But we don't care. As long as they smile! One thing I was noticing taking some shots for this con, I really need to make getting his original faceup reproduced a priority. He gets handled a lot by all sort of people, and he's sadly scruffy. I refuse to wipe that original faceup, so I need to dedicate myself to capturing whatever that look it has in a blank face. I'll probably be whining loudly here this spring as it eludes me.

It would be difficult to trust that a doll’s original faceup could be duplicated, I’d be nervous but I guess if it’s a little different it could be like a makeover for Wiishu. If I was in that situation I might be tempted to get a duplicate faceplate instead of redoing the original.

Oh, absolutely! Thought I'd made that clear. No, the original will not be touched, though it really needs washed, which I can do without risking more than the blush that my friend Sim added in the first year I had him. I've got...three(?) at least, backup plates and at least two sleeping faces. When I finally sit down to try to duplicate the original...which is as much in expression as anything...his eyebrows are just, well, different, and I've tried twice to get FL faces to replace it. One of them is close enough for what we call his "adventure face"...it goes on the road with us now, so if he faceplants he's not risking the original, but the other is just all wrong. It really is mostly the eyebrows. I think I know the right angle to go for, but I've so far been too chicken to try anything more permanent than sketching them in with pencil. I let everything get between me and the attempt. I've got tons of faceups to do now...got a big crew all at once from Granado, and by the time I get through those, I'll have a lot more confidence to tackle Wiishu's

Vindalootoo, which conventions do you go to? I do a BJD panel at mine, but I take the kiddos whenever I travel, especially to other conventions...they're such great ambassadors.

She's lovely, and her outfit is quite stylish, even matching shoes!

Today I had the MOST EXCITING mail. I got Marketplace recently and when I went through allll the pages I found one of my grails, a Juri14! Even better - she came with a body! I'd already planned to change Ally's Rara face to Juri if I found her (because Juri14 on baby body is the cutesttt), and as-then-unnamed Halloween17 was waiting for a body so it all came together, thanks to @Chamillia ^^

Hello! So I made a Littlefee hybrid awhile ago but used a Chicline head back. I have another I want to hybrid, but it'll be with a Littlefee headback, does this for sure need permanent modding for it to work with another body? I'm kinda hoping I don't have to.
