Sendell: I know what you mean; I think it might be because the Nanuri sculpt is slightly older looking and more natural than some of the more anime sculpts. Plus the faceup she got from Eludys makes her seem really real to me. Oh wow, I LOVE your Lily! She's so magical looking! She looks like a little pink haired water Naiad. I spy the tips of tiny ears though. Is she a kitty?

 

Nope, actually, they're horns ^^
I got Soom Syen's horns as a gift some time ago, and never knew what to do with them until my friend Ladicius sold the girl to me: from the first time I saw her I decided she would be a little demon, but a very cute one! Only by her looks though, in her head she is as fierce as her full name indicates (she's named Lilith)!

 

Sendell: She makes an adorable little demon, that's for sure!

 

Oh she is just gorgeous! The wig and eyes look good in her! I just love her face up! have to say, I love the creativity! She is so different I LOVE HER! I love the Creative Antes, it makes them so interesting

Sendell: Thanks! I'll try to get some pics of Rebecca at her desk soon. What size are your girls? If they're yosd sized Barbie furniture can work really well. In my case my Hubby made the furniture for me, I painted them and accessorized with miniatures I already had - Calico Critters, Liv Doll, re ment and Barbie. The only things I had to make were the pencils, and the tiny pictures which I found on Google and printed out. You could also check out your local thrift store as you never know what dolly sized furniture and props you'll find. Good luck!

I just read a reply to someone that once they've caught up and their processing times go back to normal they're going to allow Littlefee faceplates with Littlefee Baby bodies! I really hope so. I want a Baby body for my Sarang but it's hard to find someone who'd want Rara or Ruru.

I honestly am not sure what exactly makes Joren so averse to clothing. At first I thought she was just wanting the PERFECT outfit, but now I think she just genuinely doesn't like clothes. So far the only thing she'll wear and keep wearing for any length of time is the pair of hakama that vampbee3 made for her from the special Chinese silk my aunt gave me. They've actually gotten quite bedraggled. I need to getnanother pair as soon as she's taking commissions again.

 

I don't think I've ever seen Joren up close like that, she's super pretty! What's the necklace she is wearing?

 

Shawnee, thank you. She is indeed much more impressive up close.The necklace is homemade, though. It's just a length of chain with a clasp stuck to it. The stone is fastened with wire that I twisted around it in as decorative a pattern as possible. The stone, actually, is a quartz point with iron inclusions. I found it in the mountains when I was fifteen, at a place where you could pan for gemstones.

I don't think you saw the discussion about this, but Joren is my familiar. I gave her the necklace as a special gift. Quartz is a very magical stone; it's supposed to be great for working with energy, like meditating. It's also said to be an amplifier, and inclusions in a piece of clear quartz are supposedly really important. The iron in Joren's crystal is seen as protective in folklore, so I thought this particular stone was a good choice for her.

 

ArtOlli: Melanie is darling! Where do you get your LTF wigs from? They are so pretty.
Redfaery: I love that Joren doesn't wear clothes. It makes her seem all the more magical and other worldly.

This is just the desk area. Hubby and I are currently working on the rest of it.

 

rebecca's desk is looking great! it's inspiring me to actually do something on my girl's desk when i'm home again next week. but this week we are trying to get out and do some hiking while my boys are away. unfortunately it is typical spring and everything is mucky/muddy mixed with alternate rain and snow. it's actually surprisingly nice hiking weather, but makes for lousy pictures for the most part i did get a couple of good shots of the girls playing in the garden of the lodge yesterday at the end of the trail. this one is my favorite. i love everything about it, the light, her pose and the way the wind caught eilidh's hair

littlegreycoconut & ArtOlli, thanks for the links and photo.... I simply just don't play with my El as a boy very often... I'm thinking I'm just not into the boy dolls as much. So perhaps I need to do some changing up. His original faceup I don't think suits the doll as a her (human face faceup)... so will prolly have to get a new faceup... but after Melady's face redone, I really started to wonder about making him a girl... El is really a great sculpt!!

 

My order has shipped from Fairyland. I have a fullset Rose and a split where I keep the Mio body, sleeping faceplate and the event faceplate. Nice surprise as it's a public holiday here so I wasn't expecting it.

So many lovely dolls! I especially love the two Nanuris!

Can anyone recommend a modder for an eye closing on an LTF plate? I can find lots of people who do eye openings, but closings seem to be harder to find.

 

I was intending to have my Mio and Ante as non identical twins but although they're cute together i don't think it works, especially as they are different skin colours, might try my sarang head when i finally get it!

 

do you want them completely closed or just closed partially? ban sidhe here on doa has closed some of her dolls eyes and she takes commissions for mods. she does really nice work, i plan to get her to mod a couple of my sleeping plates one of these days.

i think the different skin tones is a lot of why it doesn't work, but personally i think a pipi would be a closer sibling for an ante, and a luna for the mio (the latter is a combo i plan to try) the other thing than could help is to get similar faceups and hair colors if you want people to assume "twins"

of course in real life some siblings don't look anything alike. i have one brother that i could be the twin of and two that no one ever thinks i'm related to and has a hard time believing even when we tell them - and none of us are adopted

 

Yeah thanks for the suggestions, its not something i would normally bother about but i used to have non-identical Luts girls and sold one of them, now i have a ton of matching outfits i'm not using, i did have them in the same colour wig etc so it worked really well, i might just buy another girl from Luts when i've paid off my current layaway with them!

 

Prolly not... I love Melady's faceup, but I like my dolls to have different faceups by different people if they are the same size. I'm just weird that way. Unless I want them to specifically be siblings only then I would. I like how different style faceups gives more of a different look to the dolls, as they already have a similar sculpted looks especially with all mine currently being Fairyland only. With different faceups by different artist, if gives my dolls individuality. Now this isn't saying I wouldn't consider anthrogirl doing another faceup in a different doll size for me, as I really really love her style of painting.

is it one of the le plates then? otherwise wouldn't it be easier to just try and find a sleeping plate on the market place? (obviously if it one of the event plates you would have to get it modded closed, since they didn't come as sps)

 

Yes, it's the Nanuri 13. I like having sleeping faces, so I grabbed a second one to mod. Unfortunately I've no skill for modding myself!

 

Hope got a new faceup, new eyes, and new clothes!


I'm really pleased with how his faceup turned out! He's been faceup-less for several months now, poor boy. xP I'm really rather happy with how his eyebrows turned out, though I had trouble getting his eyebrows to look right. :P Both his eyebrows and his lips turned out really orange, which I didn't realize until after I had glossed them and taken a picture. (You can see what I mean here: Click ) I didn't want to start over from scratch, so I sprayed a couple more layers of my sealant and went over his lips, eyebrows, and inner eyelids with some white pastel, and I toned down the orange with a layer of blue pastel. :3 (I never thought I'd be grateful for having to take Color and Design my first quarter at college. :P) There's still some things I don't like about his current faceup, but I used up all of my sealant, so that will have to wait until later. :P

Did anyone who ordered their Mio or Rose from Denver Doll get their dolls yet?

 

Yes quite a lot of people including myself, Fairyland shipped the ones without the sleeping faceplate having faceup first, and i believe people are just getting notices for dolls with both faces painted..

 

I ordered my Mio fullset on December 20th and haven't heard from DDE yet. Both faceplates get a face-up.

 

I'm still waiting for DDE and Fairyland too, also a Mio with both faceplates and faceups, ordered Dec 23rd. Four months is nothing compared to Lati's waits though, lol!

 

RubyHeart, your Mio is so adorable! I ordered Mio direct through Fairyland in late January so hopefully mine will be coming home soon! Congrats!
