Fairyland Feeple60 Discussion - part ten

Nov 13, 2015

    1. Congrats, @Magical Rin ~ @Maritime ~ @Mirror_ada and @sammyjo421 ! :D

At that price, the Mermaid tail is super tempting, but thankfully for my wallet I'm not a fan of the theme so I can resist. I can't wait to see what everyone does with her!

And has anyone found her measurements? I'm pretty sure she's no larger than the Moe or A-line, but I'd like to be sure before I order!

Well, I think I'll wait to see pics of the event heads anyway, so I'll know which one to pick. DDE says photos are coming soon, I think FL just had a copy/paste link on their event page or something. Gah, Fairyland and their "limited release with limited information" events.

    2. Congrats to all those ordering. I'd love to get the human body for one of my floating heads, but I don't have the funds right now. I have a long list of want/needs from FL right now. Like an F65 girl body, at least one or two MNF bodies, and a realfee body. Not that I have room for many more dolls, lol.

    3. Full option ordered about an hour ago. I dared not wait for the eleventh. Sure I'll most likely kick myself later for not holding out, but would be more upset if I missed my chance. Luckily she was cheaper than I expected, so maybe the shipping won't cross my budget that I had in mind anyways <3

Looking forward to see what others do with her. I hope we all get our confirmation emails soon.

    4. Jaaah, I couldn't resist that theme either! That tail is too perfect. And like buying Sia: I'm so frigging in love with Seahorses <3!!!
And I think Scarlett looks like a mature NF. Call me crazy, but that mouth and nose got me the idea (if it was mentioned before, I'm sorry)!

    5. Aw congrats everyone. I'll have to pass on her human version too. although, I'm really feeling seahorse dolls now so I hope in the future they make more minifee ones.

    6. I still can't believe she's so limited I hope everyone who wants her gets her.

      • x 1
    7. Congrats everyone, let's all hope we get confirmation emails soon to put us out of our misery! :XD: *still no email yet and I'm so nervous!*

I think you made the right choice, she was limited to such a small amount I don't know how Fairyland came to the conclusion there would be stock left over for the 11th *_*

      • x 2
    8. Me, too, meeee, tooooo *_*:XD:. I'm checking my phone like crazy...that's not healthy :sweat...

      • x 1
    9. I think there will be plenty left over :) congrats to those that ordered her. I can't wait to see her :)

      • x 3
    10. Yeah I'm checking as well. And I agree! honestly with 250 how can there be stock left by the 11th?! Sia sold out within a day, and then even after the cancelled orders still were gone after a week.

EDIT: OMG!!! I GOT MY INVOICE!!! YAY!!!! SHE's TOTALLY COMING HOME TO ME! I'M SO EXCITED.

    13. Got my verification email a few minutes ago. Scarlett, I look forward to meet you!

      • x 1
    14. Got my invoice, too *woop woop*. I was a lil scared tho, because I ordered her 50mins after her release, buuut got lucky :celebrate and will hold her around christmas in my arms *yay*. Can't wait :whee:!

    15. Anyone know if DDE emails their clients when the shipment arrives to them? :nowords:

    16. Yes they email as soon as they get them.

    17. @sammyjo421, great thanks!
I was hoping to pay her off as soon as she arrives. :)

    18. I'm getting more and more tempted to order a basic Scarlett, but I can't order from DDE since they don't ever mark down packages to avoid customs fees... Which would be hell due to her price :doh Have any photos of the event MNF head surfaced? I can't find photos anywhere.

    19. I ended up ordering Scarlett Steam Age Full Option. At first, I thought I was going to just order the human Scarlett and outfit. But, the more I looked at her as a Seahorse, I fell hard! LOL...She won't be home for quite awhile unless I win the lottery! LOL

      • x 1
    20. Congrats on all the orders~!! >w<

I ordered my Scarlett at my work. xD My coworkers were looking at me funny as I tried to multitask with work and ordering her.
I ended up deciding on the Human fullset and right before clicking submit a friend asked me if I wanted to combine our orders to get all the event items. xD So I'll get to see Scarlett blank as well as painted and all the event items~! >w< I'm so excited~! I want to order her stuff now, but first I need to pay her off. xD Opted for layaway for now and planning to pay off asap~!

Now I am not sure if this has been asked, but what eye size are you that ordered Scarlett planning to get for her?
I'm thinking 14mm since I always use Makos, but just curious as to what you all are thinking~!

    21. I ordered the full package earlier today. I ordered her on the 9 month layaway plan, but I'll be putting money away to pay her off when she arrives. I'm still waiting on my Sionna that I ordered in December. She's paid in full, but I just like layaway when there's such a long wait, especially because so many wonderful dolls can pop up unexpectedly. I also really want to order Souldoll Freya, so she's next on the list. I put off ordering her to make sure I had enough for Scarlett.

I have to say, this one breaks the $1000 threshold for me. It's certainly more than I've ever paid for one doll. No regrets, though. I think she's totally worth it based on the stock photos. That tail is so detailed, and her overall look is very striking. I don't think she can be compared to any other doll. Truly a work art in every sense of it. I can't wait to see her in person.

      • x 1
    22. ^^^Congrats! If it wasn't for DDE's layaway plan, I don't think I could have done it, so I am thankful as well!

      This made me laugh today!

      * KEEP CALM AND DON'T RUSH. *

      • x 1
    23. I'm so anxious to get her now haha but I know it'll be short haha.

    24. This had me laughing a lot today too every time I saw it (as I obsessively kept going back to look over everything after I submitted my order).

I have to say though, it kind of made me like them all the more. It shows they pay attention to their customers and care. There are a lot of companies, not necessarily doll companies, that love to create a frenzy and get customers worked up. It doesn't seem Fairyland's goal to make their customers miserable just for hype. The limited quantities makes sense when they explain the work it takes to make Scarlett will impact their capabilities to make other dolls. I honestly hadn't really thought of that. Limited dolls normally just seem cruel to me and gimmicky, but it's not always the case. Clearly this doll is a lot of work. Oh, I really can't wait...

    25. got my invoice and paid it!
DDE added on the high heel feet at my inquiry if she came with those or flat and said should they find out later that she comes with high heeled feet they'd refund me.

    26. I GOT MY INVOICE! *flailing like an idiot* I'm so happy~ :D

I haven't paid it yet, but I will shortly. She ended up being WAY more expensive than I had hoped (my shipping cost ended up being over $100) but she'll be worth it! I can't wait to get her home~:kitty2 I also decided not to get her sleeping head make up since I don't think I'll ever use it, that's a lot of extra money for something I'd probably never use.

EDIT: The first of three layaway payments has been done! YAY! So excited for her~!:dance

    27. Congrats all ^^

Event heads have been posted on FL's image blog: CP/Fairyland

I think the F60 head would make a cute boy :)

      • x 1
    28. Yay @Magical Rin that's great. Buy yeah, my shipping ended up over that as well.

Saw the heads too. My bf thought the feeple head looked more masculine as well. I could use another dude in my group. Was no fan of the minifee one but the pukifee was adorable.

    29. Congrats to all the future Scarlett owners!! :) She is truly a beauty. I can't wait to see pics. Did anyone order her in tan?

    30. Yay!!! :D I'm definitely excited ^_^ Yeah I'm thinking 14 is likely since I use 14 in Mirwen and had been able to do 14 or 16
      in Celine.

    31. Here is my unfinished Celine

    32. It's gonna be a fun wait~!
That's how I came up with 14mm as well. Aiyana wore 16mm at first and went down to 14mm so I'll definitely start with 14mm and go down if needed. I saw some lacrimas with 12mm so I'm worried I might have to go smaller.

    33. My Celine wears 14mm

16 would work too but there wouldn't be much of the sclera (the white outside) left ..

      • x 3
    34. @SteffiPuschel your Celine is very cute! I like her soft, natural faceup.

I'm very intrigued by the engineering of the Fairyline body, so I went ahead w/ an order of a basic human Scarlett from DDE. I'm going to give the body to my SDF girl who's still floating. I also have a bit of a crush on Scarlett's mold at the moment, so she may wind up staying as well.:blush

Also, does anyone know if the basic human Scarlett comes w/ heeled feet? I know @Mirror_ada asked DDE to check about the feet included in the basic Seahorse package. I left my question in the order comments to DDE, but I didn't receive an answer with my invoice. Should I try sending a separate email?

    35. Guys, I chose the full option package Scarlett as my very first BJD doll purchase. Was this a good purchase, or should I have started with something smaller and less grand? I'm not sure what I should be expecting out of her, but she literally made me go, "There's the first one I'm going to buy right there!"

      I couldn't help myself. T__T

      • x 4
    36. @Effulgence honestly I think a good purchase, be it a first or a tenth purchase, is a purchase of whatever makes you happy ^^ I myself bought an SD as my first doll, which most hobbyists don't advise if you haven't been to a doll meet and seen the size for yourself (which I hadn't), but I don't regret it at all. Plus I've always preferred buying fullsets when and where I can. I'm just too lazy to go hunting down the perfect outfit and making sure sizes will work etc.

As long as you have the money, buy what makes your heart sing and it sounds like Scarlett did :)

      • x 3
    37. I haven't seen the sizes of these dolls either. I've been reading up about the sizes and it seems like it's a decently large sized doll, which is a great change from the usual things I collect or make, which are usually miniature sized. I don't think I will regret buying her since I'm already planning a complete room facelift and I'm already thinking of places to put her for display. She will definitely be commandeering this new room.

But yeah, watching what CP/Fairyland uploaded onto Youtube as a preview, I was blown away when I saw it. I was like, "I have to get it!" Then I read their blog post about it being their most difficult to cast with the mold problems and I feared for the price. Haha. All the details in her tail though ! It looks so amazing that they could put in all those gear and swirl details in. Also her sculpt blew me away too. A lot of sculpts I see are like super pouty and adorable, but she had this sultry, commanding look that I prefer over the cute ones. And don't even get me started on her outfit ! I love military-styled clothing. Everything about her is so great. The wait is going to be terrible. :whee:

    38. Congrats on the new doll orders! Everyone better post lots of photos or I'll have to hunt ya'll down haha.
What we need now is a male seahorse
Been dreaming and doodling of these male seahorses since Scarlett's announcement

A little peeved the sward comes unpainted for a 1.7 thousand dollar sculpt because that's another expense I'll have to tack on. :|

    39. @Effulgence , I think @jesymphony put it very well and I agree.I don't think you regret something you want that much. I think the first one should one feel special like that, but any time you have that feeling (and can afford it), go for it. Also, if for some reason it doesn't work out, it wouldn't be hard to find Scarlett another home.

I'd looked at bjd for a long time and finally decided to get DZ Rosemary but still had some nervous about the cost and it took me months to allow myself to get her even though I couldn't get her off my mind. Before buying her I starting looking around and found Angell Studio Victoria (an SD) and it was love at first sight. I had no doubts. It was like someone pulled her right out of my mind and made her for me. She was twice as much as Rosemary, but the cost didn't matter to me and at no point caused any hesitation. She was worth every cent. She was just so special. I have Rosemary now too, but of all my dolls, Victoria is the most special and the one that really feels right. If I could only have one, it'd be her and I'd be perfectly happy. I bought her full set as that's what sold her to me, but oddly enough, no matter what I put on her, she looks amazing and love her just as much.

    40. I totally feel ya on the whole unpainted sword issue. I don't really want to paint it myself because I'd rather have someone more skilled (or a professional) do that when I'm paying almost $1900 dollars for this thing ! As far as I remember, Fairyland used to offer the complete art for some of their older full sets, no? I wonder why they stopped doing that.

Also, I hope they release more parts for the Fairyline60. Therefore your dreams of a male seahorse/merman could come true ! Also because one of the event heads is a Fairyline60 event head and holds sort of a masculine look? I'd love to get a body for that, but it doesn't seem like all the FeePle60 parts is cross compatible with this new line.

I totally feel you on that ! I actually originally fell in love with the MiniFee Chloe Amythest full package, but I wasn't able to obtain that one. So I thought about just getting a regular old MiniFee in the same sculpt, but I never delved into it since I didn't have a job at the time and could not for the life of me justify a purchase like that. Then several years later and enter Scarlett, and I couldn't get her off my mind since CP/Fairyland uploaded that Youtube preview. So day of the release, I instinctively grabbed my cc and placed an order when I got to work. I justified it as, "Last year my big ticket purchase was a designer handbag that cost more than this, so this year, my own reward will be this gorgeous Scarlett," which timed perfectly with Thanksgiving/Christmas (depending on whether or not I feel like speeding up my payments).

I'm glad I chose an SD sized doll. There's just so much more customizability with the size. If it wasn't a FairyLine60, it definitely would have been a FeePle60 for my first purchase. Also definitely a CP/Fairyland purchase as a first since I love their sculpts so much !

    41. I'd love if they did some male versions! I had a Roke briefly to be my merman character, but then ended up not liking him enough to keep him. I've also been really really hoping for a male body option that's smaller/slimmer for one or two of my boys so a chest piece for this body would be perfect!!! <3

    42. After giving myself a couple more days to think (finances wise), I ordered Scarlett Human Basic with faceup :) Congrats to all who ordered, I can't wait to see everyone's photos of her ^^

      • x 1
    43. Congrats on your order! That's what I would get if I had any money left.:chomp:

      • x 2
    44. @vermont chick Thanks! Maybe down the line you could snag a second hand market Scarlett?

I'm very interested to see what they do with the FairyLine. If they make more animal/fantasy legs/parts and if those would be available to buy totally separately if we already have the compatible body.

      • x 3
    45. I went ahead and sent DDE a separate email inquiring about the Scarlett basic human set feet since I also wanted to ask them if I could include heeled feet in my current order if she didn't come with them. I'll post their response here when I receive it for anyone else who's wondering the same.

    46. I just got a response from Fairyland regarding heel feet on basic packages that don't explicitly state they are included:
"At FairyLand, basic packages do not include any heel feet unless mentioned otherwise"
So those of us ordering the basics (either the human or the seahorse with added legs) will need to order a pair of heeled feet if we want them.

    47. Congrats to the future Scarlett owners!
I received my sionna there are just one month today, and I love her so much :kitty2

    48. I finally got to open my tan Celine yesterday and I'm absolutely thrilled! :D I love her so much!

Meet the lovely Valarie Archer Danger, you can check out her box opening in the Arrival Gallery~

She's going to be very pleased to hear I have her idol (Scarlett) ordered :XD:

    49. My response from DDE also confirms this. For those of you in the same position as me, DDE will let you add heeled feet onto your order if you email them with the request.

    50. @Lady Jabberwock - I love her outfit and especially the shoes!

@Magical Rin - Congrats on Celine! She makes an awesome, gorgeous pirate ^^

    51. Hello! I've had a feeple moe for about a year now so Im a bit late to the party. Meera, my chloe and the little tan lady is Cadence. I acquired her pretty recently.

And good news! I finally got a Lacrima Vampire head!!!!! Shes not painted so I will need to send her out but I am soooo Excited to have her! Hopefully I'll get her in the mail soon. I have had the crappiest week last week and it made it a little bit better.

    54. @Loodles Woohoo! Congrats on your new Lacrima head! She is such a beautiful sculpt!

Okay It's probably way too early to be freaking out, I am indeed freaking out just a little bit, haha.
The sword needs to be painted and I don't see anyone on the Marketplace who is willing to paint a prop (especially one with such intricate detail) >_<'

    55. I'm going to modify and paint mine haha

    56. @sammyjo421 I don't own any tools I could use to paint my sword (and would not buy them because they would probably mold before I used them again haha) and am definitely not confident enough with my art skills to avoid botching the sword, most likely in a permanent fashion.
Kudos with the sword paint and mod, I hope you post tons of photos when you're done. :P

    57. I definitely will haha I'm going to make it look like an older sword with a crossguard. If you ever really want someone to paint yours I'd do it Free of charge. Haha I paint models too so I'm used to working with smaller large things lol.
