I think too Girrl is right, and her words make a lot of sense. I think they only produce things they know they are going to sell well, that is the main reason. I remember the petition a few years ago about the people wanting a LTF Pongpong and they finally decided to make it, but then LTF Pongpong was not successful as he was supposed to be and Fairyland said this later, they were quite disappointed and they do not want to have the same situation with boys.

I am still wondering myself all the time why they do not offer the head sculpts on the basic moe feeple60 girl, Lishe, Rona, Luka, Siean and Miyu if they have already the molds O__o, they could only get benefit, since I am sure a lot of people would order them. I just do not get why they only offer Mirwen Chloe Celine and Rin, even if I know that they are the most popular.....

I think this would be the same principle like with the MNFs, when you order them a la carte you have 41 heads to choose...., and they are not all same popular...

Or maybe I just do not know exactly how dolls are made, and it is not easy for them to produce them, but as I say I have no idea...

 

Don't forget that while Luts may have owned the rights to sell the dolls, I doubt they ever owned the copyright for any of it, except, it seems the name "Breakaway" (which in any Fairyland release, takes the name "Ital"). Otherwise there wouldn't be any MNFs, whose bodies are just a smaller version of the F60. I think you'll find that CP simply gave the bodies to Luts because they were old and not needed. It wasn't like CP was very going to release those Delf bodies again.

The main reason it seems that they aren't willing to release things is simply because they don't think it will sell to their own satisfaction. They've said a few times that unless X amount of something is sold, it won't be brought back on the market. They actually gave a number of dolls before they'd bring the Chicline back (all the information on that is in the Chicline thread if anyone is interested). They basically said that unless there was a guarantee that a certain number of people would ACTUALLY purchase the doll (in writing almost) they weren't willing to bring the Chicline back. At some point they changed their mind and they do very occasionally, do a new Chicline.

Like @brighteyes22 says, it's the problem of the LTF Pong, and to a certain extent the F60 Juri 12/05 remake. They have previously listened to the loud minority of their collectors and created a doll only to find it bombed spectacularly. The LTF Pong is probably one of the worst selling dolls they've made, and the only reason they release it was because they thought that people would buy it. Suffice it to say, they didn't sell. That has created a certain amount of mistrust in their customers, since they don't think that what people ask for is actually representative of the number of those who will purchase what they produce.

 

Personally, I don't think the Feeple60 boys would sell well because they don't have the right heads to match the boy bodies. It Fairyland decided to offer the Feeple60 boy bodies, it would have to create new heads for them. For instance, when clothed, my Mirwen looks like a muscular girl with a flat bust and this has been confirmed by people who are not in the hobby. Yrin would have been a good start. A Ruth-type head with a square jaw would have been great as well.
Another thing is that my boy's hands fall off regularly, its head wobbles, his head cap doesn't stay put, his arms bend for no reason. The body poses naturally, though it does what it wishes at the same time. I am sure I've heard the same complaints from other people. I am planning to restring it with stronger elastic and suede it in case it helps. And possibly add some magnets at some point. I wonder if these flaws are why Fairyland is reluctant to sell them again.

EDIT: the thing is, a lot of people complaints that there are events heads that they would love to get their hands on, if only Fairyland got rid of this habit of limiting the access to these heads, a lot more dolls would be sold.

 

I also asked FL about the original F60's, and they said that they are considered "prototype" bodies that they don't plan to rerelease. ;_;

However, I am a little hopeful, since I also asked about F60 Moe boys and they basically said that they might make them, and also said they'd pass along my suggestion of adding Iden and Moon heads. I'm not particularly interested in Moon myself, but IMHO he is a great male sculpt that could appeal to those that want a more obviously male looking guy (Mirwen can pull off "male", but was intended to be a female sculpt!). Also, the Fairyline60 girl body is really nice and I imagine that they will sell it again.

What I wouldn't give for a crystal ball! I am -thisclose- to shelling my main character as a Minifee, but my absolute #1 choice for him would be a F60 Moe boy. >.<

As for popularity of their boys . . . IMHO, Fairyland has been off the mark with a lot of their sculpts. You want to sell a bunch of your big, sturdily build guys? Don't give them dainty feminine features or huge lips that don't look anything like your more popular dolls. Want your mature mini boys to be popular? Don't make most of them look like children. Want to re-release a head? Pick one that is rare and expensive on the second hand market, not the one that can easily be found for a reasonable price. xD

IMHO Fairyland could be very successful with male dolls too, but only if they can figure out what head sculpts will be well received.

For me I always thought it was the opposite, the reason the boys didn't sell was because they DIDN'T go with an androgynous, girly look for the faces. All their attempts at "manly" sculpts, like Roke, and Rho, seemed to be met with a cold reception. Whenever I did see people wanting boys, it was sculpts like Mirwen and Lishe put on boy bodies, but of course, those heads don't look good on the muscular body. People wanted them on the softer, sleeker body. Its extremely hard these days to find soft, non-beefy muscle bound bodies for boys, every company is going for bigger, more muscular, manlier and manlier dolls. I honestly think if FL just went for the opposite, they'd do quite well. The original delfs were never on muscular bodies, and they were quite popular then, weren't they? People still want that original aesthetic.

 

Yes! I want the original aesthetic, I really do not like that ALL boys now are big ridiculous muscle men!

 

I think Botflybaby is right, people want want the original aesthetic and in my opinion I agree with you whooganana, all those muscle bodies lately are ridiculous..., I personally like the "normal" bodies much more.

Do you know guys what is the eye size of Cygne?, I guess she is wearing 16mm in the pictures of the premium eyes, but I want to ask before I buy some eyes for her. Maybe I should wait until she arrives, but then I would have to wait again for the eyes to come =__=.

 

I'm having that same dilemma with eyes, not sure to just buy a pair of 16mm and 14mm to be safe.

 

I think she has bigger eyes than Mirwen but not so big eyes like Chloe, she is something in between..., and my girls are wearing 14mm (Mirwen), and 18mm(Chloe), so that is why I guess she has 16mm in the pictures.

Maybe I should ask FL to be sure and will share the information here ^__^

kyliebee, if you need both sizes of eyes, I would go ahead, but if not please wait to save money^^, I am going to ask now^^.

Yes! Dolls these days, especially boys, just keep getting bigger and bigger. The average size for a boy doll seems to be 70cm these days, which is just too big for me most of the time. If someone started making slim 60cm boys again, I think people would really go for it, because NO ONE else is doing it that I can think of, other than one of dollzone's new bodies (which is really quite nice looking, actually.)

I mean, its also the old heads people are asking FL to bring back, but can you really imagine Chiwoo, Shiwoo, Yder, or Woosoo on a muscular body? It just wouldn't look right.

Congrats to everyone who ordered Cygne! I backed off after seeing how small the head looks on the FM60 body

 

Scarlett is such a sophisticated sculpt. I love her.

Every time I look at Cygne I just see perfection for me. But I like to hear what others don't like about a sculpt because it helps me refine my own tastes. I don't think I'll think her head is too small, but I haven't seen her nekked yet.

I think too Cygne is so perfect!, and I actually like girls with big head, so I am wondering now if you are right and am a little worried....

 

Head size can certainly be a deal-breaker for some. Half the time I look at Sionna I adore her, but the other half I just notice how small her head looks on her neck. >.< I really wonder how Sionna (and Cygne) would look on the Fairyline body.

@Diaspro ~ your ladies are gorgeous! I love how they are so similar, yet markedly different. I haven't really done anything with my mine yet, so I love seeing other people's Scarletts as inspiration.

It's just like @Dolly mentioned. I once owned a Sionna and had difficulties, because her head was small. Well, not her head, but her face. And judging from the pictures, her head (face) looks small compared to the other sculpts. Even smaller than Sionna

So this means, she has a normal head size, I just saw the head size of my Chloe, Mirwen and Lacrima, and are almost the same size, so I feel so relieved *___*

Hi all,
I've recently received Scarlett with the seahorse tail, and I'm struggling to fit her hips inside the tail. I'm afraid if I force it, the thin resin on the tail may snap, any suggestions?

 

So there are just so many dolls to buy. Do you ever feel this way? I feel like maybe I need to turn my computer off so I don't see all the pretty limited dolls because I simply can't afford them all. I only bring this up because I am trying to make the hard decisions right now with my hard earned money. I got my fullset Cygne (thank the stars that the gods were good to me) and I ended up switching her to NS from my original order of tan. I was planning on ordering a tan basic of Cygne with my fairyline Lucywen, but now Doll Chateau had to go and release a unicorn and well...the question is...do I really need that many Cygnes? I just worry that I will never get the opportunity to get her again. After losing out on Liria (who is my grail doll) I feel like I need every version of Cygne I can get my hands on since it will probably be the closest to a Liria I ever get. I really want a tan Cygne that I can customize with my own faceup while the fullset in NS I got can stay with its default makeup.

I know I'm babbling...I know they said that this winter event is your only chance to get Cygne, but do you think Fairyland really won't ever bring her back? It seems so silly to take such a gorgeous sculpt and not have it available. I mean...I understand that Liria was supposedly special for someone retiring, but could you imagine if they brought that sculpt back for a hot second? I would lose my mind. I guess I could hold off buying her till the very last day. Haha. I have until January 14, right? Sigh. So many dolls...I need a money tree!

 

I don't think Cygne is limited. I'm pretty sure they said she is not limited. She may not be available at all times like a lot of the minifees. But I bet she will be available during like a Feeple event or something.

 

I think just the vampire head is limited with only 100 as gifts

About your order of Cygne I feel exactly the same like you. I got too the Cygne full package in normal skin and after that I ordered Cygne in tan skin color as basic, since I was so worried this girl would be limited, and I did not want to have to find her later on the market place for a crazy price like it happened to me with Liria T____T.

I think you and I are very similar because I just thought the same like you. I was asking myself just two days ago to get another Cygne just in case she will be not offered again in normal skin color with no face up, but then I think I just do not need another one. I do not have the money either to afford so many dolls...

FL said that Cygne is not limited and eventually will be offered again in the future, but you know, this is the same like with the other Feeple60 sculpts like Lishe, Rona, Luka...etc, they are supposed not to be limited but they have never been sold again since a few years now, so I wonder if this will be the same with Cygne......

I do love Cygne so much, she is my favorite by far, and i would not mind to have more than 2 of them, and of course I do not regret having ordered two of them, she is simply perfect! *____*. But i will think about getting another one or not, as you say, we have time until middle January

 

Well, if you mean the Lillian SP DC just released, she isn't limited. So you could always get her later?

I myself am trying to figure out if I want a BW or tan Cygne (or maybe both!), she'll be my first FL doll! I just wish I had been in time to get the adorable vampire head. >n<

 

Yeah. I know the human Lillian isn't, but the pet Unicorn from doll chateau is. And I'd end up getting her free, if ordered the human Lillian now. Sigh...but I know I probably can't swing that cause I also want to get a basic Cygne too and I just don't trust Fairyland to bring her back.

Congrats on deciding to get a Cygne! She is so beautiful. You really can't go wrong. Haha. I'll probably end up with both tan and NS versions of her since I ordered my fullset of her in NS. Not sure how many BW versions people ordered, but she would be stunning that way too.

I'm a little late responding to this (fell behind on all my threads, yay!), but... I actually do want a Shiwoo on the oldschool F60 muscular body. I have a MNF Shiwoo on the muscular body, and love him, and want him in the bigger size, too, so I'd be the one ordering that combination. (I do think he'd look a little odd on the never-released one, though... and I don't really want either of my boys on a big version of the Moe boy body, I never cared for that one.)

 

I'm bouncing off the walls this morning. I should still be sleeping, but, my f60 chloe will be home today or tomorrow

Also I hope everyone is enjoying the holidays, I cant believe how fast this year has passed!

Looks like DDE scored 10 more fullset Cygnes today if anyone was still hoping to get her last minute. Also Fairyland opened up their orders for her again. Seems like it would make more sense to revert their order back down to the original order of 99 since they accidentally oversold to 120, but what do I know? Anyway...knowing how desperate I was to get her, I know how much someone else might still be looking for that fullset, so I'm letting the board know!! Buy while you can!!!

I am still debating my tan basic Cygne. Have till the 14th, but I don't think I'm going to be able to swing it. Still I'll be content with at least having my NS fullset coming home.

My FM60 Cygne has arrived! I know FairyLand said 14mm for the eyes, but judging by the eyes I've held up next to her face I think she's going to need 12mm. She doesn't look like much at the moment--no face-up, no clothes--but I'll take pics as soon as we get some sunshine. I'm kicking myself because I forgot to order high heel feet and I wanted different hands but forgot to get those, too. Looks like I'll be placing a small order soon. Oh, and they sent me a calendar in addition to the MiniFee head I selected as my event gift. Must be they had extras.

We've been fogged in for the past two days. There's no way I can take photos yet--it's just too dark in here.

About the eyes: My MiniFee Shushu has the same size eyes.

 

@vermont chick It's been extremely foggy here in PA for the last couple of days too.

 

The sun came out long enough this morning for me to take a few photos. It disappeared again when I started working on a face-up, but that's another story. And Photobucket is acting weird, but I managed to upload her finally.

I think FairyLand gave her 16mm eyes. When I took them out I couldn't believe how huge they were ! Anyone who puts 14mm in her will feel they're fine. Some of my 12mm left a small gap, but I found a pair that works. Of course now I can't take a pic of her with a face-up because the weather has gone all gray and cloudy again. Hope I can take more pics tomorrow.

She has a very thin nose.
