Fairyland Feeple 65 Discussion Part 7

@Stormlight Yeah, so my new Nuia faceplates have what may be the same problem but I got lucky and was just able to push (shove) both face plates on and they stay (sleeping and open eye....actually now I'm realizing that I haven't tried the event head, yikes). My Angela V2 doesn't have this issue at all.

It looks to me like both Nuia heads have a little resin that pooled inside the chin of the faceplate where it connects with the head back and is keeping the faceplate from snapping all the way in. The Angela faceplate doesn't have the extra resin blobs. I'm not doing anything about it since I can get them on still, but it seems like it could be a QC issue. But it also looks like I could grind/sand out the extra resin if I really need to.

Do you think this is the same issue you're having? I'm so sorry you're experiencing this at all let alone after a custom faceup! I hope you can get yours to fit!

@Feathered Shadows Thank you!! Her dramatic faceup is making me realize how much I finally want to wipe the stock faceup on my Angela sculpt with her strange eyebrows haha.

 

Thanks for your replies. I don’t think it’s the head back since the human Rozen plate fits on it fine. Pretty sure it’s the smirking elf plate that’s the issue. I did manage to get it to stay on, and I’ve got a tight mohair wig on him now to hopefully KEEP it there. Maybe it will, I dunno, stretch into proper shape if it stays on the head back long enough?

I don’t remember whether I tried the plate on his body before I sent it off or not, or whether it might have warped or something during shipping. But since this seems to be an ongoing issue, I’m gonna chalk it up to poor quality control finally getting me.

 

Question for those who already got their Nuia dolls - can her head wear 8-9 wigs? I know her exact measurement is 9.5 but I have my eye on a certain wig that is 8-9.

 

@Chameleon Thanks! Are any of them Luts wigs by chance? I have my eye on one of their wigs.

 

Can any OG person answer something for me really quick? I just received a F65 Chloe in the mail and I'm extremely surprised to see her (blank and unstrung) rune arm have gaits on them (if I'm using the term correctly). The part that usually gets sanded off that sticks out of the mold, on her arms and stuff.

Was this something Fairyland made people sand off themselves in the past?

I have three elf Chloe's now, two of them have default faceups and they are drastically different from each other, and 2 of the 3 have the same engraving inside and 1 has a different engraving, despite them being all the same head. Were their different styles for the Moonlight release and al la carte? The company pictures of her moonlight release looks like a combination of both of my faceups, it's so wild!

I'm just really surprised and would like any information if anyone has it As a note I am NOT worried about anything, just find this very interesting!

 

@Chameleon Ah ok. I have a few Leeke world wigs but not in the color I want for Nuia...I need fire red hahha

 

@Chameleon They do have one nice wig but it is more crimp than curl...and the Luts one I like is more curled ends than curly...I guess I am struggling with getting a wig that would work. I want my Nuia to look like Leetah from Elfquest.

 

Yeah, a lot of the event arms came with the gates/pour tabs still present. Mine did, I had to remove them myself.

Are your heads all the same faceplate or is it a difference between like OE, SP etc.? I know Chloe had 3 different faceplates, between the OE, SP and limited dreaming plates.

And no, they're all OE Chloe elf, but only one of them has her name above the other engraving.

 

Hello all! I am debating with myself should I buy a Nuia or not since I first saw her. But I never saw a picture (with face up) where she looks straight into the camera, her head is always dipped one way or another. Could someone who owns a Nuia show such a frontal shot of her face? It would help me alot! Thank you

I love her! I do wish she had a little bit more of a chin, but that's my only real critique - I think that's why she looks so extra good with her head tilted down. Her face up is spot on and looks just like the original photos (mine's just NS though instead of Tan).

I can't decide if I've tilted her eyes inward toward the center too much because I've been looking at her for too long lol. Or maybe it's the gold dragon eyes....

My Angela2 has returned from being painted and is back on her modded body.
I opened her eyes just a little bit and sanded her nose before sending her away
for painting. I made the nightgown from a scaled down people pattern - it’s
actually for my Feeple60 gals but fitted Angela2 well enough while she awaits
her Edwardian lingerie.

@Robyn_in_WA She looks so much better with a less pointy nose! Your modifications to her fave and body are fantastic! She is a beautiful, custom doll!

@Ctrowbridge77 I agree, her chin looks rather small, perhaps because of her larger lips. I do like her looks though. She has that “otherworldly” look to her. I love your gold dragon eyes!

 

I regretted not buying Nuia because after the Miwa incident, I was too nervous to buy. But when owner pictures started circulating I was kicking myself so bad. She is GORGEOUS. I managed to snag one of the designer sets on DDE and I'm so excited She definitely broke my budget though lol. Still paying off some other layaways with FL, so I'm nervous about the new release announcement in the next few months.

Definitely going to get my Nuia a custom faceup though because her lip paint is not my thing. Her eyes are gorgeous though. Can't believe it's Fairyland!

I use Ringdoll's normal stand (not the one for the 75 boys) for my girl and it's pretty sturdy. She only stands on it while I'm shooting her so I don't have any experience with leaving her on for a long time.

 

I got a new head back and tried my spare normal human Rozen face plate on it and it fits tight. This face plate fell off all the other head backs I had too loose, so this is a win. So between that and a neck connector thing I got, and a spare IOS 60 boy body I had, a new hybrid doll was born today. I had planned this body for a different floating head, but the resin match was off and neck too thick, so it now belongs to this Rozen head. XD

Can I ask if the faceplates are ok? Not falling off and such? I read others having some problem with faceplates and saw a boxopening video of Nuia where the poor owner had a hard time trying to keep the face part on the head back...
Not that it would stop me from ordering her... I just thought it'd be better to prepare myself.

May i ask as i am waiting on her myself but I am undecided about the full set. I have seen different pics where it seems the skirt and bra let are actually silver and not that dark like the original fairyland pic.
However yours seems to be perfect or is that just the lighting?

@Dollquest Such a pretty guardian, I love all the lovely Nuia ladies.

Question to the group as my own Nuia was my first and only F65 female, do they all have issues sitting down and holding a sitting pose? Or is mine just some combo of strung too tightly and/or unseen casting issues in her leg joints?

 

To make them sit, you have to pull the leg forward at the thigh a little when the leg is in a sitting position. Then I push it in a little. There is a click and she sits pretty well once her joints at the hip are in the correct position. Be sure her thighs are facing front.

So far mine hasn't clicked/caught on the catch, she jack knifes out of a sitting poses with in seconds, unless something is there to force/hold her into the pose. I've been fiddling with her a lot on and off to try and get the little locking parts to hold a sitting pose. With a lot of work/force I have managed to pull her legs in a way to see the workings once and I saw the catches and grooves for them. For some reason my girl just can't hold a sitting pose no matter how I pull twist or push things they do not line up or stay lined up when I do get them right. I am starting to think the catch parts is slightly too short in her both legs or else she is strung too tightly.

Again thank you though as knowing others can get them to lock helps me, as give me hope of retackling the issue and figuring it out.

 

Don't give up. It took me some fooling around with her but once I figured it out, it becomes easier. Its not perfect but it is a lot better and if you get both legs the right way, she sits very sturdily. I have 2 of the newer Feeple65s and I can get them both to sit well now.

Hi all, I'm looking around for a boy doll <70cm and the Feeple65 Rozen caught my eye. I'm a big fan of smiling sculpts and love his smirking faceplate. Does anyone have a picture of the smirking face with faceup? All I can find is blank faceplates or his default face. Thank you!

I wish I could help, but my smirking Rozen, Vampire Smirking Rozen, and Elf smirking Rozen all need faceups still.
That said I can say that the f65 head with an adaptor can got onto a handful of other bodies well. I have a normal Rozen head on the I.O.S. 63cm male body and it looks good. (kind of a thicker muscled short boy with a thick neck.) I also have a 68cm body I tried f65 heads on so sure you have a few hybrid options.

I like the Feeple65 body fine from pictures although I don‘t think it‘s the most beautiful ever. The face is amazing though!

 

The I.O.S. is yellower/lighter, but not a bad match and my extra human Rozen is keeping that body. I also tried it on my DF-H slim 68 boy in pink though without the connecter part in and it seemed like it would fit and work with the connector part. (though that body is another doll's so wasn't going to fight the connector on it.) The DF-H resin is more the right shade of peach, but was also a bit lighter. Over all neither are a bad match. Right now I have two floating Rozen smirk heads the human and the vampire. The elf is on a f65 body. Which I like well enough, but I like the f60 boys a bit better over all.

 

That is very helpful, thank you. I‘m surprised the Feeple head fits on the IOS body because the IOS heads are so small in comparison. I haven‘t handled an IOS but I have a Crow on a Class 60 body on order and his head is only 8 inches if I‘m not mistaken. It‘s actually good to know there might be compatibility because the enormous Feeple heads are a bit of a drawback for me.

Edit: or is the 63cm body actually the Class 70?

I too have Crow and his head to me looked too small on his default 60cm body (which is closer to 63cms in person with head.) I ended up ordering him a new body from Doll Zone the moment I got him home and saw him in person. Which in turn lead to me trying every 1/3rd floating head I had on the I.O.S. body which is how it got my blank normal Rozen head. The neck is so thick on it, it fits heads for 65 boy heads and bigger.

 

Oof, that is disappointing it‘s not a good fit for its own head We‘ll see what happens when I get him. Now I wonder if I should just get the smirking Rozen head and see if I don‘t have a leftover body soon.
