FairyLand Fairy Line Mini discussion part 5

Seconding this question! Im waiting til he gets here, but im thinking i moght want to swap the Altis head out. I know sadly that Mika/Mir wont fit, but are there any other companies/info about hybridizing Fairylines?

Or should i just find a Minifee head i like?

 

You can, basically, put any head you want on the body, as long as its similar in size to a minifee head + has roughly the same neck size. You just need to remove the neck adapter Your options are pretty vast; nearly every company has made MSDs. The FL fairyline/Minifee neck is 6 to 7,5cm (depending on the body), heads are 6-7inch, so I'd say stay away from heads that are larger (Bluefairys MSDs for example have a 7-8inch head, so they're out).
But other than that.. .the measurement list (BJD Measurement list [ver. 02.03.19]) comes to ~240 doll heads/lines in the 36-51cm range with a neck size between 6 and 7,5cm (not counting discontinued lines or companies that are out of business.)

I'm currently looking for a head myself, so I know the struggle :,D But for my incoming Klaus centaur.

I'm debating getting Klaus. He seems to be exactly what I've been looking for. Though I probably would go for a human body and not centaur.

 

Kraus is really handsome. I’d like to have him too but I think that would mean giving up someone.

I am not really sure where to ask, if I'm in the wrong place forgive me.

Few years back Fairyland usually release tan skin when available, but now is it a permanent? or is there are deadline?

 

Klaus is amazing. I really would love him someday!

Right now I only have one girl on the fairyline body with actual animal legs right now, which is my Ria. Not like you can tell from this pic =/ But she has rabbit legs. I didn't know if I would like them, but in person they are cuuuuuute!


I'm not sure about the tan deadline...I never expect it to last forever, and always suggest if you want a tan fairyland doll you go for it while it is available since they tend to take it out and add it randomly every now and again.

I'm waiting on my Klaus boy, but he's on layaway, so it'll be a bit! He's going to be my first Fairyland doll.

 

Tan is typically only available during the four event periods each year, so should be back during the Summer event, however it's not been released for all lines recently as their line manager isn't back (from injury) yet so they're not at full steam.

 

My Klaus centaur fullset arrived at DDE today! Yay! Finally I'm so excited. I hope him and I can get along. I haven't been getting along with small dolls since the beginning of home, especially minifees, but I'm hoping the armor will change my mind.

 

My Klaus centaur is at DDE too. It feels so cruel as I've got four layaway payments left, and no way that I could pay him off early.

Maybe they shouldn't tell us unless you only have a reasonable amount left to pay

 

Summer event is up on Denver Doll Emporium. Under Fairyline - Parts, they have the faun legs available for sale. It is only available in tan.

 

That’s so neat! I don’t have a male Fairyline, but I hope they keep offering parts.

 

@Kittywolf13 you might get better responses in the MiniFee thread, this is for FairyLine, which does not have bust pieces that are compatible with MNFs of either type.

 

For anyone curious - Mir/Mika fits pretty well on the Fairyline body, I have absolutely -no- idea why FL says that the head doesn't fit. No modding done, neck mechanism works just fine.
(FLS note: Please note that Mir/Mika and Risse heads are NOT compatible with Fairyline body which are smaller than regular sized MNF heads.)

 

I think it varies. Mine fits Fairyline, too, and I've seen others that do, but it probably isn't designed to fit.

 

The older MNF heads (anything before Momo) are all -technically- not designed to fit the Fairyline body, since it didn't existed back then, but they still fit. Yeah these two heads might be smaller, but I don't really understand where the 'omg really is doesn't fit' came from - maybe as a precaution because molds gets smaller over time, the heads might shrink further and then they won't fit anymore? we'll never know.
(I'd just wished that instead of putting out that warning they'd rather just edited the heads to definitely fit, like the rest of them.)

By the way, I've looked everywhere for Mir/Mika on Fairyline bodies, and haven't found a single pic x.x unfortunately you can't search for head/body combinations here in the doll profiles...

Thank you for posting that pic- I've also been really curious about Mir/Mika fitting on the fairyline, since I LOVE that headsculpt. If anyone has pics, I would also be very grateful to see them!

 

I just got a Lucywen recently and the wings came unstrung when I was adjusting them! Does anyone have any idea on how to restring them? I noticed when they came apart the knot was inside one of the actual wing parts, is that normal?

 

My human Klaus fullset arrived to DDE and I get to pay him off this week!

That being said, has anyone tried 12mm eyes in him? I know Fairyland recommends 14mm but I feel like he'd look good with smaller eyes.

I put 12mm in the elf vampire head and prefer it to the 14mm premium eyes that came with him .

Well, I went ahead and did a layaway for him. Beauty white. Though I got the normal head and not the vampire head. That head is lovely, but it doesn't really suit the idea I have in mind for the doll. The human head will be perfect for him though.

He definitely looks like he would look better with 12 mm eyes. I saw him on display at the Dolk store in Japan and the 14mm eyes just looked way too big.

After the initial box opening, I always feel weird taking pictures of an unfinished doll. Anyone else like that? Maybe one day my Altis will get another full body shot. :P

Still trying to figure out what I'm going to name him and alternative outfits. (He's staying in the armor for a while, since it took me forever to lace him into it. XD)

 

He's beautiful! Would love to see more Klaus pics. Altis too. He's adorable. I got my Klaus yesterday, but he's not really ready to show off (no faceup, no wig, no eyes, no clothes). I need to go on a shopping spree buying things for him. lol.

 

Decided to take some photos of my boys in their warm winter wear, and Elliot (my Klaus) pretty much dominated the photos. I feel like he's the best at looking dramatic.

In this photo, he looks like he's trying to sell my other boy a used car or something or reminiscing about the good ole days, haha.

His twin brother (I got the vampire elf version of his head when I purchased him) will hopefully be arriving back from face-up land soon and can pose with him for photos.

 

Hi everyone~ My MNF Elf Yder got his new body in the mail yesterday and I'm in love! The colour match isn't 100% because this body is much pinker, but I love the way it poses! It's excellent~

DDE has up the Erda Dragon Fairyline...he is lovely! I am good, hands not going for the "add to cart" button. LOL I am curious about the dreaming vampire head, though! It is also interesting that they have parts painting as an option with this one.
