FairyLand Fairy Line Mini discussion part 2

Oct 22, 2015

    1. Hi! I'm sorry for this question, I'm thinking of buying FL doll but I'm quite torn between choosing fairyline and minifee. Can anyone explain the difference of those 2 and which do you prefer? I've asked fairyland but they just linked me to their measurements table which I don't really see much of a difference. Thanks in advance! :)

    2. The Fairy Line is specially designed so that you can swap the legs with (for now) a mermaid tail. In nearly all other ways, it is just like the A-Line minifee. There are some differences, of course: you can change the bust piece quite easily and the arms sort of clip inside the body instead of being strung through the torso like most msds. Aesthetically, they are essentially the same. The Fairy Line is not always ready for order. It looks like it'll pop up just for events for a while, but you can order the minifees at any time.

I hope that helps. There is plenty more to say about the body, of course, so if you have more questions, fire away! You can see a video of the Fairy Line here.

    3. I have a question... at Sia's tail, what body can you attach? If I want to use it with another doll it's possible?

    4. @Dawn : The size seems to be slightly different too, but I can't find the comparative photo :/

@Ladyuzumaky : Theoreticaly, the Sia's tail can only be attached to the fairyline body, I think the hips don't have the same size on both bodies :) And the Moeline doesn't have the good joint, so it cannot have a tail...

    5. @Alishino aaaah, thank you! So if I buy only the tail I need the fairyline body or I can't do anithing with it... Thank you again ^w^

    6. I haven't try to switch the part, maybe with some mod it should go well ! But yeah, it should be simplest to have the right body (at least to put the tail/remove the legs, it's so simple !)

    7. @Alishino I need to think more about it, even if I really like that tail ;; It would be for a boy and that body is not quite my tast for a "him".

    8. I understand, I'm planning to have a Fairyline body and to make a him, I've got the torso already, but he will be Shiro, from Adekan, so.... I've ordered him with hight heel feet and it's the perfect bodyshape. (even if I'll mod him a little to have some male parts)

    9. @Alishino Oh my god he is so beautiful *gorgeous, cof*! *O* I reeeeally want to see him when finished *^^^* And yes, that body is just right for him **

    10. Thanks ! I'm still hesitating for the head, bu... At least, he will have a body and shoes XD

    11. Thanks for those info! It really is a great help! :3nodding: I've been really trying to figure out the difference, I've tried searching the web but to no avail. Omg! That video just really made me lean towards fairyline! Do they always place magnets on fairyline doll's back or is it just for Sia? I think its really great! :D But just need to know more before I decide, which line do you prefer? And which is easier to find clothes with? Which is better, pose-ability wise? Are FL dolls all light? They seem to pose well, with ease :aeyepop: Sorry to bombard you with many questions, just don't wanna buy before really knowing the pros and cons :)

      Thanks :) It's ok, don't worry about it :3nodding:

    12. @Dawn , I have a Fairyline, several Moe line, and an Active line.

The Moe line and Fairyline have magnets inserted for attaching fantasy parts. The Active line does not.

The Fairyline's torso is slightly narrower than the Active line, but other than that they look pretty much the same size wise.

As far as posability and handling, I prefer the Moe and Fairyline. It's easier to get them to stand, for example. All of them are great though.

    13. @Dawn, everything @albeli said! :D I agree about the Moe body, too. The Fairy Line is really kicky, but the upper torso posing in the Fairy Line is unequalled in any doll I've handled!

    14. My Sia is back from the spa! She's a river dragon and very much in progress, but I had to show her off:

    15. @albeli : Thanks! You've explained them well :3nodding: It's good to know those points. I'll research for some photos of those body side by side. I've been hearing people say FL dolls' pose-ability is great, are their weight light too? :whee:

@urbanizer : Thanks! You've been a great help! I really think Fairyline is the great way to go! I've another question though, about the mellowing, do they mellow equally and do they turn towards yellow or creamy? And the waiting time, how long do you usually wait for their dolls? I got one concern though, I've heard some people having problems, like broken staff/scepter, thin resin (I believe on the foot or something like that) and etc. :nowords:

    16. @Dawn, I can help you out a bit with your mellowing questions; the FairyLine bodies are still too new, but the FL resin recipes have been around a long time, and my two oldest NS LTFs (one fully from 2008, the other with a 2008 faceplate and 2009 body) still look fantastic, after being kept in a lit room (but out of sunlight) for as long as I've had them. I only just recently blushed the newer of those two, and before that she was still a reasonably good match to my newer LTFs. The NS color is really quite stable when kept out of UV light, with just a very slight leaning toward yellow (they start out quite pink). I can't speak for WS, as I have yet to own a WS FairyLand doll, and I'm not sure if their TS has been out long enough to gauge (I only just got my first TS recently, but it's a gorgeous color in person).

Wait times can vary quite a bit; I had my shortest wait on my FairyLine order (a bit over 2 months, iirc, for one FL and two LTFs), and my longest wait was on a rather large order some time back (5-6 months for two MNFs and 3 LTFs as a GO). Problems can happen, and I've seen some mixed responses to them. I've never had issues with my own orders from them, personally, so I can't speak to those matters. The only real problems I've encountered were a damaged ankle ball on my Puki's foot (which I was able to get replaced), and a stuck foot/ankle combo on one of my LTFs (ordered through a GO and I can't remember who ran it anymore, so not much I can do there, but it doesn't hurt anything so I can live with it).

    17. @Dawn see the above quote--it has a side by side comparison of an a line and f line. Click Expand and then click on the photo.

    18. @Redrosette : Your doll is very beautiful! I love the colors on the tan skin. Also her outfit ahhhh. I love it all. Hope to see more soon of your river dragon. <3

I just bought a wig for my Sia. I have decided what I want to do with her. So expect faceup pictures soon. Hoping to have her done before the wig comes in. I will be taking pictures when the wig gets here. :D

    20. @Redrosette Your Sia is lovely! I love the colors in her faceup. :D

@Annaku Congrats! I love fullset Sia's faceup, that eyeshadow is so nice. *v*

I am also completely head over heels in love with the Fairyline body just. Its back curve is sooooooo nice. I also got new hands for Lien! Had to sand them a little bit because I think the F-line's wrist connector is a bit thicker than the A-line ones? But regardless, they fit now! :D

Please excuse the background, I always want to take spontaneous photos of Lien, it seems, and never a legit shoot. T_T

    21. Lien is really cool ! This body is so perfect for males !

    22. So I pointed out to Fairyland that the Fairy Line measurements must be wrong. After showing them through the photo that it was at least the height that was wrong they said they'd look into it and have the measurement chart adjusted.
The chart has changed, although I'm a bit concerned that they may have just copied the A-line's chart now (except for the chest circumference which is bigger because of the giant boobs), as all but the chest circumference is exactly the same.
Although it could be true that they are the same in measurements aside from the chest.

    23. So, I went to a doll meet recently, and I took my girl with me. People had fun with her.

There was a lot of silly going on there...

    24. @CathyM : in first, I was like "oh, she is really flexible, but... the legs are too longs ?" and then, I realised XD

      She's really cute :)

    25. Ahh thank you! And yes I completely agree. *v* It's the body I always wanted for Lien but just didn't exist when I first bought him. I'm so glad I managed to get one off the MP! :D

    26. @CathyM ahaha your girl is so cool and pretty even in two parts :D love her crown too !
Sharing my Sia , she just received her own wig and eyes ^^

    28. My Sia fullset came home. I can't snap the bra on her - only when it's not on her. And I don't use the Sia head as I don't like it much.

My problem now is her name. My dolls always tells me their names pretty quickly but not this one.

    29. She's a one woman magic show!

    30. Here is a little pic of the first of my Sias (Jesse), since I decided to put her head on a minifee body and use the FLAM head on the seahorse body.

      http://i64.tinypic.com/6p6p9s.jpg

Still waiting to get faceups on my FLAM and tan Sia, so pics of those will wait~~
      - I'm kind of disappointed though, since my mint tail has some weird casting errors in the middle and bottom of the large "thigh" part as well as the tan big bust (the one I'm using for my tan sia) is filled with lighter and darker markings which aren't due to sanding. It's looking like stretch marks on the boobs and some dark spots bu the bottom of the chest piece on the back and by the shoulders... :/
Gotta try write Fairyland to see if they'll do anything at all since DDE claimed it to be sanding marks.. But after being in the hobby for over 5 years, I know my sanding marks by now, and it's definitely not sanding marks. I've talked to other doll owners in my community about it, and none of them thinks it should have been possible for it to go through quality check. :/

    31. That sounds like the issue might be marbling, which Fairyland lists as "not a defect" for tan skin.

    32. I wonder when everyone's Rendia's will be shipping out?:shudder

    33. My poor Rendia will be on layaway forever.....:atremblin

    35. My full package Sia arrived today. Does anyone else have an issue with the bra and wig not fitting at all? I even put the smaller bust piece on and the bra is like a hair away from clasping :huh?: And the wig seems two sizes too small.

    36. I wish I knew. I ordered and paid off a Rendia full set. Really excited to get her!

    37. @Cthula The bra is tight on my girl even a bust size down from the biggest. I wetted and stretched mine and it fits fine since then, and Bu doesn't seem about to take it off!

Buwaya has stolen my Luts Hades' horns and I love them on her! The Luts magnet polarity doesn't match the FL magnets, but I wanted her horns farther back anyway so I just taped some more magnets to her head.

    38. I am so tempted to get a pair of the mermaid fin arms and have them modded/painted to look like wings for my incoming Rendia.

    39. Sorry if this has been asked already, but does anyone know if a minifee bust can be put on the fairy line body? I ordered Rendia, but I'm not too fond of the full bust so it'd be great to know.

    40. Pretty sure you won't be able to get the Minifee bust on a Fairyline body. There's no way one would fit over the Fairyline torso and even if you were to swap a MNF bust AND belly, the MNF hips are wider than the Fairyline hips. They wouldn't fit together properly.

I'm so excited to see others' Rendias begin to ship!! I'm starting to get anxious because FL was so fast getting Sias out and it seems as if Rendia is taking a bit longer. Maybe they are trying to take care of some of the recent Fairyline issues. (Such as really thin resin).

She's so beautiful!! I love her outfit :)

I couldn't get the bra to fit over the full bust. I didn't want her to have a full bust anyway so I switched to the large bust and the bra finally snapped in back. The wig also seemed a bit tiny. It took some work but I did get it on my Sia's head. I already had an alpaca wig waiting on my Sia though so I didn't keep it on her.

    41. I ended up removing the snap from the bra, and putting in a hook and eye. Now it fits better, and isn't so bulky.

If you dampen the skin of the wig a little, you can gently stretch it onto the head. Just be slow, and keep it damp. I've done this many times, and it works because hide generally stretches pretty well when it's damp. Just be really gently.

    42. Thank everyone for the tips! I really didn't want to go through emailing fairyland, so I am quite happy there are fixes I can try at home :)
