Aesthetics Face up - Trying to draw real person look

Mar 18, 2018

    1. Hi guys, I'm back to critique forum again. Since my previous thread has been locked, I couldn't update photos on there anymore...

A few tools have been changed since last thread
e.g. using the brush instead of color pencil
And the style of coloring changed as well. I want to try different things and please let me know if the previous style looks better or the current one. Old style as below link (maybe page 2 looks better, page 1 is a bit bad looking due to lack of skill and practice)

      /threads/recent-face-up-practice.757700/

And currently the face up style looks like:

Any critique is welcomed, I can always learn something from it

      Thanks

    2. This is great! I love the eyebrows, and the way that you have painted the individual hairs. I had a look back at your previous work and you have improved so much. Thanks for sharing! You give me inspiration to keep practicing and improving myself

    3. Looks great :) eyebrows are perfect and lines in the lips look natural. I love eye makeup the most. Beautiful faceup!

    4. !!! I love the faint veins you've done!<3

    5. Wow Iโ€™m in love with this face up! The details on his face are impressive, itโ€™s one of the best face ups I have seen so far :)

    6. Wow great improvement! My only advice would be to smudge the veins a bit more so they appear a bit softer/peeking out from under the skin.

I'm not sure what materials you use on your faceups but when I paint (off-topic dolls) realistically like that I will take a slightly dampened cosmetic sponge and gently smudge the harsher lines - I sometimes paint the veins with acrylic or sometimes I use prismacolor pencils and both work well with the smudge method.

Edit: Also the capillaries are well done! Those tend to stand out/create lines so what you've got is perfect!

    7. I love the veins ahhh thwyret not noticable just like that, but when you look closer... That's so good. Great job.

    8. i really like the faceup. the eyebrows nd lips are great. what i would fix is the blushing. try adding a little less naxt time.

    9. Thanks, yes, practice makes perfect! Just needs to pick up tools and get everything starts going :)

      Thank you~~

      Thank you~~:XD:

Thanks! Glad you love it :blush

I use the water soluted color pencil (Faber-Castell). The color is a bit strong, I'll try the sponge method next time (since I put the sealant on already for this time),:doh thanks a lot for the suggestion

      Thank you~~ :XD:

Thanks for like it  I used to use the color too light, and this time bit too much lol :sweat

    22. Just as lovely, the light at the tip of the lashes really helps bring focus to the eyes.

    23. Wow those eyebrows look really good, and the lips look really good as well, just the right amount of "lines" in them!
