There is a water soluble glue for eyelashes. For heaven's sake, don't use crazy glue! Leekeworld has eyelash glue and it's really cheap! So do many other doll companies.

This is what I did: Use a tooth pick to spread a thin layer of glue across the slid between the eye lids. Wait a couple of minutes for the glue to dry a little bit. This helps holding the lashes at first contact. I cut the lashes into small sections length wise. Using a pair of tweezers, I insert one small section at a time to the area, making sure that the lashes are pointing down ward. It helps if you look at some one with their eyes closed to see the direction of the lashes.
I use mod podge. Also, you can get doll lashes super cheap on eBay. Human ones too. Sometimes those are more fun and dramatic!
Hi can anyone help me, my bjds eyelashes are lifting at the corner and need glueing down. Whats the best glue to use to stick them down? I live in the UK so something I can pick in the shops would be great x
I don't know brand names for UK but I just use plain old white glue (dries clear). It's the same stuff I used in school when I was 6 years old.
usually I use Mr color GX100 to glue eyelashes... but PVA glue is also ok. and I think some people use UHU to glue it? Not really sure:/
Yep, any old PVA glue, like you'd use for sticking paper, as long as it's not too watery Use a toothpick to apply it if you don't want to take the whole eyelash off.
My lovely little gal has eyelash discombobulation! I'm trying to upload pix, but my phone cord is MIA.... It is the Arlen PT Doll, and her eyelashes have decided to start shooting in all directions; I'm unsure if it is from her wig (it's been on a while), or what has happened. How do I set them straight again? I'm a newbie at eyelashes and am afraid to ruin them. I would MUCH prefer having someone, in Southern or Central Colorado, fix them. Is there anyone in Colorado Springs or Pueblo, Colorado area that can fix them? Will post pix tomorrow, or later tonight if I can find the cord, LOL. Thanks for looking!
Hey, are they band eyelashes that come on a strip? You can email the company for instruction. If your lashes are loose, gently pull them off, and reuse, but if they have lost curl, you will need to order a new pair, which will come with instructions, or you can ask the seller. Here, is how you can fix in a nutshell, when dislodging her lashes, be gentle, dont tug at the strands... Measure eyelashes, trim, apply light glue, waterbased, like Elmers with a toothpick, do not over saturate with glue, a few beads, on the upper seam, using a toothpick to spread. Hold with a tweezer on each end and bend, blow slightly, to dry the glue, making it tacky enough, to adhere readily, then you place eyelashes under the lid, press in place with another clean toothpick. Once dry, insert eyes.. Before gluing, you can experiment with placement, some eyes, are sculpted where the lash goes under the lid, ending just inside the head/eyesocket. This is just rough instruction. Do a practice run Don't panic, when we wear eyelashes, sometimes our own moisture makes them come askew... If you also google, you may find some simple instructions, incase I missed anything, am not clear enough, or am just confusing...
I wish their was an advice section, hahah. Anywho. My MNF Chloe has one eyelash that's coming off a bit. I didn't do the face-up, and I don't know HOW to do face-ups. But I figure it's something so tiny that I should be able to fix it myself. What do you guys use to attach eyelashes? Normal eyelash glue? Not really wanting to send the whole faceplate off just to have an eyelash repaired.
A little bit of white school glue/ Elmer's glue! I use a toothpick to spread a tiny dot of it where I want the eyelash to be and then use another clean toothpick to set it.
I just bought some eyelashes at a room sale at Dollism 9 and attended the face up demo so I'm working up my courage to try my first face up. My question may sound silly but if you have to cut down lashes do you throw the unused portions away? Or can you use them for another face up? I'm thinking that I would want to use the lashes closest to the inner edge so that they gradually get longer towards the outer eye. So that would mean one set of eyelashes per doll? And throw away the left over lashes? One more question, is there a rule of thumb about how small a doll is and if they should get lashes? The doll I'm going to work on is Doll Leaves Lian. She's only 16 cm but her eyes are huge so I think she should have lashes?
I would save them! Or you could layer them to create thicker lashes at the corners of the eyes. No need to throw something useful away. I would say just try out a bunch of different things. Lashes should be really easy to remove and not damage the faceup at all if you are using the right glue. I don't think there's any rule of thumb about the size of the doll getting lashes, either. I've seen some tinies with lashes. I would really love to see some pictures of dolls with human falsies if anyone can or will oblige me. I bought a couple pair (a thin pair and a thick pair) at Walmart for my Queena (which won't get here for aaaaaagggggggeeeeeessss) and I'm just curious how they look on dolls.
I like the idea you made to layer the lashes to make them thicker, Urbanizer. I never thought of that! Thanks!
I was just wondering if someone with some experience in the matter could give me some advice. I have a minifee head with a beautiful faceup but no eyelashes and I think they would really bring my character together. However, I have no experience placing eyelashes on a doll before. What is the risk or ruining the faceup while applying eyelashes?
It depends on a few things. The glue you use, how and how well the faceup was sealed, how well you stick the eyelashes. The easiest glue to use is a water soluble one, so that you can dampen it to remove when you wish to remove it. Elmer's white glue is a commonly used glue. Just dab a bit of it onto the eyelash (do check for length, and trim if needed) and wait for it to get a bit tacky before you stick it. I try to stick it directly on the top eyelid's edge, but on the inside edge (if that makes sense), and use a clean toothpick to move it into place. You can use tweezers too, but I prefer toothpicks. You need to be careful not to get the glue onto the faceup (especially the front, like on the eyeliner or eyeshadow), but other than that, it's relatively easy. Just work slowly. Applying lashes usually won't damage the faceup, unless there is excess glue or it gets around onto the face. Removing on the other hand, may peel off parts of the faceup near the eyelid, if you don't use water soluble glue and wet it to loosen the adhesive before removing. That was a bit long, but I hope it helps. If you work carefully, you shouldn't damage the faceup when applying lashes! Goodluck.
I have a Dollfie Dream that didn't have a soo nice flight, her eyelashes fell off. Some questions: 1. What kind of glue(s) is used to attach them to the Dollfie. 2. What are some ways to paint the lashes if I can't find the color I need. MY poor girls lashes were a dark blue, and very thick looking. 3. What are some websites that you have used for glues. 3b. What are some websites for eyelashes in general. If this has been discussed elsewhere please embed the links it will be appreciated!!!
White glue is common glue to use for gluing the eyelashes. You can find some eyelashes for dolls on eBay, Etsy, and many other sites. Some people use human falsies and cut them in half. Again, white glue or tacky glue.
Seconding the white glue (i used off-brand Elmer's, lol) It really helped me to use a toothpick to apply a teeny amount, then the clean end to position the lashes where i wanted them. As for where to get them, I'm unsure. I just glued the ones that were falling off back in place.
