I finally, after about a decade of admiring her, got myself a half elf! These girls are so sensual, and the sculpting truly is breathtaking.
Congrats @rianne on getting her! I spent 7 years pining for the EOS Nina and finally got her this year myself
@T4124 Thanks! Honestly I think I love dolls even more when I get to pine for them a bit. @IzabethS These dolls are so worth a wait. I'm in love with everything about them!
I completely agree! Even though the double jointed EOS body is the most bizarre body I've come across yet with it's internal sculpting. She's pretty limited in certain movements, but it's beautiful so that makes up for it haha. And dolly tax!
@IzabethS Oooh a redhead! I admit I kind of prefer these clearly hand-crafted bodies with al their quirks. It lends character and also makes me think carefully about what I'm doing with posing. I do have the old single joint body though, and I always favor single joints for that reason.
Agree, that wig is marvelous! How are you liking the single joint body now that you've had it for a little while? I am fixing up an older yellowed Limhwa body. It's taking me quite a while, but it's my favorite sculpting of all time so I am super happy to be doing it! The middle legs here are hers before and after using the "de-zombification" tutorial to dye her. Limhwa 57cm Legs Before & After by t4124, on Flickr
@nancy_schroeder_ca Thank you! @T4124 I love it honestly. It's easily one of my favorite female bodies ever. I absolutely love that the sculptor uses organic asymmetry so well (I'm not a fan of the perfectly symmetrical turn some of these dolls have taken), and I love that she has posing quirks. I like having to think about what the doll wants to do vs what I want to do. XD That is some amazing resin restoration you've done! Lovely work! I'm currently testing sueding options for the torso and hips, leaning toward hot glue for extra grip. So that will have to happen after I blush her, which I'm looking forward to in a way I don't normally with blushing. Her sculpting is just so inspiring.
Hello~ could anyone tell me the measurements of the 65cm male body? Couldn't find anything on the eosdoll website or elsewhere and never heard back from Junkyspot when I tried contacting them;; I'd be happy enough with just neck circumference and shoulder width if you wouldn't like to be troubled with all the other measurements (`;ω;´)ゞ
Back with more Ren. She's turning into my muse. If I can get a break between painting and studying, I need to make her some new tops.
Interrupting all this breathtaking beauty that is on display here for an answer @sahoma: we have just placed an order with Eosdoll for two dolls via email and so far everything is going fine; fast and easy communication, even paypal was offered. The waiting time estimate was ~65 working days. We'll see. I was nervous at first too because I could not find any proof of a single doll in the west that had come directly from there in the last couple years, and JS has been sitting on their stock for years meanwhile (plus there is often no "no make up" option). I love these dolls so much, I would also like to see new converts being able to get them
I saved these measurements around the time To-L came out, although whether the newer boy, To-M, has a different body I do not know. So I hope it helps some?^^ Measurements Limhwa ToL Height: 67cm heads: 23cm (9") neck circumference: 12.5 cm chest: 27.5~28cm waist circumference: 22cm hip circumference: 29~29.5 cm leg length: 36cm arm including hand: 20cm feet: 8.5cm
@sisyo @Mandagore There is a small difference between the original Mano body and the slightly larger body that ToM has. See my original post about their chest differences below. I'm sorry I no longer have the bodies to get entire measurements for you. And a pic of the torsos together. Mano on left is slimmer, ToM on right has "muscular" chest: image by t4124, on Flickr @sahoma I just ordered one of the tiny girls directly from EOSdoll earlier this year with no problem. She required direct bank deposit at the time, which cost a hefty $40 fee at my bank, so I am VERY excited to hear she offers paypal as a method now! The tiny took two months almost to the day. She is gorgeous )) Good luck! Edit: Here's my post in the tiny thread when I got her! Ordered in May, received in July! LIMHWA To You Sara discussion part 3 @Mandagore Congratulations! Which dolls did you order?!
@Mandagore That is perfect, aaaa can't thank you enough!!So glad you did, thank you !! @T4124 Yes, I saw your post (bless you for that also)!Hoping they still sell the slimmer version, though if not I can live with the muscular aha Excited to hear about ordering directly is feasible and Paypal is an option now∑ Time to save up hH
@T4124 See, I had the dimmest memory of there being a difference between the older and newer Manos^^, thank you for reminding us. Your boys are/ were? gorgeous. I felt stupid for not having found your post about ordering from Eosdoll, but I think I conducted my search before you wrote it^^. I am ever so glad everything was ok, though that is one hefty bank fee! Your girl is soo cute. And thank you! This time my sister ordered a Half Elf and I went with tan Mono. Both dolls already had been with us once, years ago, but life...*sigh* I'm glad they are coming back now. I also have a Limhwa57 Human and a tan To-L, from the time of the amazing carot tan^^ I think he might have turned a less carotty hue over the years, but I'm not sure. @sisyo, de nada
I'm so in love with ToM. You're killing me @T4124 ! XD And thank you all for the great info. Good to know she can be contacted directly for international sales. Though I'm pretty grateful to have gotten Ren for an absolute steal through JS, if I ever give in to a tiny girl, I know where to go. Bit of dreamy Ren spam for the thread.
@rianne I adored the half elf before, but your dreamy Ren absolutely kills me. So wonderful to see when all things come together in a doll like this. Is she harder to photograph to capture her eyes in the right way than an opened eyed girl for instance? It does *look* almost effortless, though^^
@Mandagore Aww thank you! Hmmm, I don't think it's more difficult. Just different? Like, I don't approach photographing Ren the same way I do my wide-eyed Dollshe Amanda or my moody Bimong Dandelion if that makes sense? I just take each doll as it is and figure out what works.
Thank you @nancy_schroeder_ca ! I have a (probably spectacularly stupid) question for the thread. Are the EOS body and the 60cm body one and the same?
If you're looking at the way the bodies are labeled on Junkyspot, the EOS body and the 60cm body are not the same. The EOS body is more curvaceous. It also features double joints at the knees, a double jointed elbow, and a mobility joint on the upper thigh. Additionally, the torso joint on the EOS body is directly under the bust, rather than being under the waist. Unfortunately, I didn't own the bodies simultaneously, but I think you should be able to see my posing pictures of the EOS body here, and the single-jointed body here (if I put the Flickr search links correctly).
Thanks! @snowgray I'm actually looking at Limhwa's home site. The artist has the 57cm (the old single joint) and the 60cm listed separately. Based on your photos, I'm seeing the same bust joint, so I think we have our answer.
It's hard to say for sure, but it looks like what the eosdoll main website has listed as "60cm" has the double jointed elbow, making it the "Eosdoll" body? The clavicle seems to match that, too? I didn't spot a bust joint picture but I may have missed it! I'm assuming you could ask the artist to produce exactly the combination you want, though, since it seems as if the headbacks are interchangeable with the faceplates, and the headback matches either body?
@snowgray Yeah I think the mystery is resolved. I'd actually want the EOS/60cm body for variety if I ever got another girl, so this is good news. ^^ More Ren spam for the thread.
So glad to see this thread come to life again -- Limhwa dolls don't nearly enough love! @rianne your Ren is gorgeous! Dreaming Half Elf is on my someday list. And I'll go ahead and continue the spam trend (and hope others do too) with a recent(ish) photo of Ros, my half elf.
@Poptart So lovely! I'm aiming for an oe myself. Half elf is so good, it's worth having two versions. X3
Sorry to double post, but I can't believe I haven't shared this image of Ren here. Also also! I just confirmed the order for her tan oe sister (on the 60cm/eos body) direct from the artist.
@rianne, congrats! I am already looking forward to seeing what you will do with her, you realise expectations are high after Ren has turned out to be so impressive^^. @Poptart, your girl is a sumptous dream
@rianne I completely agree with you there! And I cannot wait to see what you do with your incoming girl. Thank you @Mandagore! My local group had a meet-up last weekend and I brought Ros along with me and managed a few snaps of her.
Thank you @Poptart ! Ros looks fabulous in that dress. @Mandagore Haha! Thanks, and imagine how high my own expectations are. XD I was not anticipating how much I'd adore Ren. She's set a whole new bar. I ended up hot glue sueding Ren yesterday, just the hips and bust and she's an absolute champ now! She already had a nice natural fluidity to her, but the extra grip makes those subtle bends easier to achieve and hold. ^^
Your Leda is beautiful, though you may want to post her in the MSD Limhwa thread instead. This is the 58cm and above thread
No worries! Your girl is gorgeous either way. I used to own a Lily but upgraded the character to SD as I bond better with that size. I should share my EOS Nina again....
@IzabethS Yes do! Nina is a rare beauty. I'm still waiting on my tan half elf on the newer body, but I'll be sure to get some fresh Ren goodness up soon. ^^
Just popping by with some Ros, all dressed up for Halloween, spam. I attended my local meet-up this past weekend and dressed a group of my big girls up as witches and of course Ros was their supreme. Happy (almost) Halloween.
She's stunning!! I sadly haven't dressed up any of my dolls, but that's okay, they're still lovely in their normal outfits haha. I really should take pictures of Holly again...
Thank you! To be honest, I took the easy route for Halloween “costumes” and just dressed her in all black and called her a witch. And you should post more pics of your girl.
Ash is here at last. The half elf sculpt has quickly risen to the status of 'maybe all-time fave' for me. She's just effortlessly gorgeous.
Wow @rianne she sure is 0,0 Congrats! What do you think of the two types of bodies now that you have both (I think?)?
@T4124 The single joint is a much better poser (especially with sueding). She just looks good no matter what, while the double jointed body has the kind of stiffness that most double jointed bodies do (plus the boob joint is, like most boob joints, useless for natural torso posing). I love the compact curves of the new body though, and the sculpting is still absolutely top notch. The proportions are to die for, and she feels a lot more substantial than the single jointed girl. Basically, I love both, and I'm super happy to have one of each. But they're definitely proof that 'more' engineering doesn't mean better engineering.
I just discovered this company and their dolls are so beautiful! I would definitely like to have one in my collection someday.
hiya- just jumpin in here cause... woohooo I got a girl as well. And she gonna get the new body :-) waiting for her to come home
@greeneyed-soul congrats! These girls need way more love than they get. Some more Ash with her ear makeup showing.
now the decision is made as I wish to have another tiny doll- am gonna get a Limhwa to you Mari. Could anybody tell which eyesize she needs or do they ship the dolls with suitable eyes?
Welp, after much convincing from my boyfriend, I purchased an Elly. I was sooo not planning on a doll right now so I have to buy all the things! At least I know what I want her to look like.
She's here! I got her with the default faceup since that was the only option they had at the time. It'll do for now! I'm so happy to finally have an Elly. She's such a pretty doll. And, boy, do I love her hands. They're just so pretty!
