I think the new dolls are gorgeous...the body reminds me a bit of the Iplehouse EID body. The dolly with the blond wig on will be a must-have for me- her face is very unique and well-made ^////^

 

I'm so excited that they start their own website ^^. It'll definitely make a lot easier to order their dolls again and less hectic...I'm soooooooo happy now ^^ and for them.

 

Wow---this is fantastic news! I love my half-elf, and from what I can see of the new body------looks like she fixed some of the quirks. I love how the face and body are more mature. This will go to the top of my "want" list. Any idea on the cost yet or is it still a work in progress?

personnaly, the fact that they are so mature isn't for me.... I hope they will still sell the old dolls (because y'know, if they changed their names, maybe they will only sell new dolls too..? )

 

I hope she continues to offer the older bodies too. I love the new one, it looks gorgeous, but the old one was so different looking...

 

I may have to save up and get one of these new ladies when the site is open! I love the way the new bodies looks and oh so love the new faces!

 

I really loved her Leda and 1/6 scale girls, so I really hope she can get her old molds and continue casting them, too. All of her dolls are too lovely!

Oh, so Limhwa is willing to sell directly to people now? Awesome! I hope she makes Heartbreak boy someday....points to Avatar. I also hope she doesn't abandon her older sclupts too. I wonder what the reason is behind the name change.

The name change is likely some licensing junk with DollFair after it's collapse. Bimong changed names to Bimong's Atelier from Narin Doll when he set up his own personal store, too.

I'm just happy DollFair didn't eat Limhwa up after it failed.

 

Ellanie: Agreed, totally! My mom (bookdreamer22) has a beautiful Limwha Mano boy, and I'm thrilled that Limwha will be reborn from the ashes of the Dollfair fiasco. They're too good a company to crumble. I hope they come out with some new boys... ^_^

 

I agree. Both Bimong and Limwha create beautiful dolls and they are too good a company to crumble. Im so very happy that the horrible mess with Catrina didn't rob them of a future when it comes to creating their beautiful dolls.

 

I wish Limhwa the best of luck with this, although things must be pretty bad for her to have to start a new company. An established brand name is worth so much, and unlike Bimong and Narin dolls, she isn't splitting from the manufacturer just the distributor. Luckily, Limhwa's dolls are so beautiful that I think people will still want them-- maybe even more people, assuming they are easier to get than in the past.

I think there's still an awful lot we have yet to learn about the Dollfair debacle.

 

I know I'll want another one of Limhwa's beautiful girls, be it the new version(s) or the old! I love my Luna's gorgeous bod (especially her legs), but I would love for her to be more poseable since now she pretty much can only stand there and look pretty

 

Does look like a new body, not much different, bigger breasts for sure. Only a slight picture though. Good for the artist, I hope she does well.

 

The new body looks like it doesn't have those annoying little hip lip thingies (or whatever they're called) which is great for sitting at least

ETA: I just noticed that the torso joint is different which will probably help with the leaning the older bods did without sueding!

 

*squints* I can't get a good enough look at the hands to tell -- it almost looks like a Limhwa-sculpted head on an IpleHouse EID body. Does anyone read Korean to be able to know what the captions say?

(NOT in any way saying the body is a copy or anything like it -- it's also reminiscent of Unoa Zero in terms of the chest joint, but it's definitely bigger in the hips -- just wondering if they're new head sculpts but the artist is putting them on another body for her own purposes.)

Only curious because it'd be good to know before getting into speculation as to whether or not this is a new Limhwa/EOSdoll body type!

Ashbet, I would be very surprised if she put one of her heads on another company's body. But I do agree that the body looks a lot like Ip lusciousness. Fine by me.

Also, the skeleton new site has a section for 60cm. So, I suspect that these beautiful new women might be this height. Everso slightly larger than the previous dolls, but probably too small for me. Personally, I think it is a shame that she didn't go the whole hog and make them 65-68cm, to be good consorts for all the 70cm boys out there. But there ya go. I still might find a role for a shortarse in my troupe.

I hope we can still get the old bodies as well. The new girl is an absolute must have -- but I'd still like to get the Half-Elf girl I've pined for over some time now.

It may be that she has a contract with Dollfair that isn't up yet that doesn't allow her to list the older/others yet?

 

I actually got an email from Limhwa that said that she's considering making the older sculpts on the new body (which is double jointed)... or so I understood. Hopefully that will be the case because I want a Half Elf too. From her email it seems like the only thing she is waiting on is finding someone fluent in Korean who can communicate with her and handle the overseas sales / support.

We'll see. At least I'm happy she's not just closing down.

 

I hope the old body can be acquired, too. It is just so incredibly beautiful. I'll have to stalk the MP otherwise.

 

I am so happy Limhwa will still be around! And the new girls are looking gorgeous and the new body looks promising, a little taller and double jointed so hopefully a better poser. I even like the idea of having the older heads on it also as Ros -- my Half Elf -- could always use a little more height. But I too hope the old body will still be available, as it is the most gorgeous body out there in my opinion.

Very reminiscent of the Iplehouse EID & SID female bodies. Gorgeous!

 

I really like the new body and I agree it does look very similar to the EID and SID bodies!

 

The new body is gorgeous. Double jointed and yet finely sculpted -- that's how I've always dreamed. I could do with a smaller bust though (don't really like girls with large bust) but nonetheless she is gorgeous. (Although the rear looks a bit strange... but I suppose she will sit like a champ!)

 

I am so happy!! Can't wait to see more, I hope to get one of these lovely ladies, the new bodies look amazing!

 

OH my gosh I am DYING over those legs... no one does legs so well as Limhwa (always be Limhwa in my heart) in my opinion. With the exception of Unoa..

 

I agree, twilight! That's one of my all time favorite things about Limhwa's girl...those LEGS!!! I only wish mine were anywhere near as shapely as hers

These are great news!! I was worried if Limhwa was going to stop their business because of the Dollfair problems, but wow, what a great turn on the table 8D I really liked the new body, too... but I think it's a bit too mature for me. In my opinion, the old 57cm body was already very mature, with it's big breasts and the curvy shape... and already a bit hard to get clothes for, if I may say... So I think I'll stay with the old body.. I just would really like if the artist made an upgrade to the 57cm girls too, just changing the body to double jointed like she did with the 43 girls. The smal body is incredibly beautiful, and looks like a good poser also, so, why change so much? I hope if she makes a new body for the 57cm girls, it will be just like the 43cm one... same aesthetics, but double jointed ^^

This is so true. Ahem, to illustrate the point.;D I am also so very glad to see the new legs looking as good as the old.

 

Wow, it&#8217;s refreshing to see a nicely proportioned torso on a bjd female body (finally!),
although it could just be the angle of those photos. I have a soft spot for Limwha sculpts,
but I hope she doesn&#8217;t release a male doll (or I&#8217;m doomed!). If she does I hope the body
is as proportioned and realistic as this one (so I can update my Mano&#8217;s body to a less stylized one). XB
I would love to see an updated body for Mono as well (maybe then I can give up and finally
get myself one).

This is great news. I really wanted to get Leda but gave up given the dollfair debacle and bought a Minifee instead. Now I'll have to start saving all over again! But I'm really happy there's still a chance I might actually get Leda after all!

 

To be honest, the new body really reminds me of EID. Again, not that she copied or even that it's bad, they just seem to reflect the same design philosophy.

I would miss the original girls. I am really looking forward to a revisit or update to the original 57cm body.

 

ummmm, ya I was thinking exactly the same thing, and the string lines at the top of the thighs look like they've been photo shopped out.

 

I suppose I am seeing an SID/EID similarity. But it's obviously a Limhwa sculpt, it looks almost exactly like Leda blown up. The trend in female dolls seems to be toward the 'fuller' look anyway, Feeple65 and the new Oasisdoll all have that very curvey look.

 

I don't think it's the same body...just look at the nude shots on Iple's site versus the EOS/Limhwa images, you can see several differences in the joints, the sculpting of the back, and the position/style of the breasts. The artist might have taken inspiration from the EID/SID bodies, but you can still see Limhwa's style shining through

 

A little side by side comparison . . .

They've both got the whole full shapely thing going for them yes, but that Limhwa body is definitely a Limhwa body.

 

I am waiting for when these lovlies will go on sale......that body is so gorgeous!

 

I have a question for you Limhwa owners of tan dolls...

I was talking to a face up artist who asked me whether the tan pigment was mixed with the resin or whether it was a coating because apparently they do no work on dolls that have the tan as a coat (not sure what that means as I am new at this.)

Do any of you know if the Limhwa girls have the tan mixed with the resin or is it a coat? And have you had any issues with face up removals on them?

 

Hello, dollsoflace! I removed the faceup on my tan Half-elf when she arrived to me, and I had to scrub pretty hard with a Magic Eraser to remove her eyebrows for about 20 minutes. This did nothing to change the resin, apart from make it a bit shiny from all the rubbing! So I'd say the tan pigment is mixed in with the resin, but since I haven't actually cut into her or modded her in any way, I'm not entirely certain, more like 98% certain!

 

Are there any prices yet?

 

Limhwa gave me prices for the 57cm girls (not the new ones) which are: *direct quote from her email*

"Taned resin

1+= $ 530 (. heel foots gift)

2-= $ 500 ( heel foots gift)

1 + order= wig,acrylic eyes (random), 2 - order= X"

But she didn't mention anything about the new girls though I asked.

Ah -- thanks for the information. I was worried about that whole cleaning/face up removal with tan resin. I guess my biggest concern right now is the variation of tans that I have seen Limhwa produce. I've seen sunkissed to super dark... I'm hoping my batch falls in between those tones ... would you recommend using paint brush cleaning solution on tan resin?

 

I'm interested in getting a Limhwa 57cm doll either in urethane resin or French resin. Can anyone tell me whether they have had severe yellowing issues with the Limhwa French resin dolls or have experienced any other problems inherent to the medium? - for instance I've read somewhere that white scuff marks may appear in the joints due to repeated rubbing of the parts through posing.

My understanding is that the French resin has more of a translucent quality to it, but does it inevitably yellow more over time?

 

Was there any indication of the price for normal skin resin?

I've used Amsterdam Brush Cleaner for acrylic paint (kind of like W&N brush cleaner) on my tan Eva and it didn't damage her. She also came with a chip out of her torso, but I sanded it smooth as the replacement part that I received was of a different tan colour. The tan colour appears to be mixed with the resin and not just a top layer.

 

I am so excited that JunkySpot is the new Limwha dealer! I put off getting a doll or two for a while never thinking that the opportunity to get them might disappear but now it's not a worry! I hope he'll be carrying the new doll and body too!

I personally love the look of French resin and prefer to urethane despite the fact that it does yellow much quicker than the later. I have two Limhwa girls and both are French resin and both have yellowed. My Half Elf -- who is from the very first ordering period -- is about 4 1/2-5 years old and has yellowed considerably, but also evenly. I am her second owner, however, and she came to me somewhat yellowed already -- her first owner didn't do much to prevent any yellowing and I wasn't as cautious as I ought to have been in those early days. She looks a lot more yellow in person than she photographs though, so it's not a huge deal for me. This is pretty close to what her color looks like in person. Not an unnatural color, but definitely not that nice pinky white new color. Now my other Limhwa girl -- a luna -- is only about 3 years old and while she does have yellowing it is no where near as severe as my half elf's, but I have been much more cautious about storage and outside photo sessions with this girl than I was with my half elf. When I'm not "playing" with her she sits behind a black curtain -- along with my real-skin Iplehouse guy -- and we don't spend too much time outside in the direct sunlight. She hasn't yellowed so much as darkened a bit and unlike my half elf -- who changed color evenly all over her body -- my luna seems to be changing in her hands and chest-neck area. As you can tell by this pictures she is darker around her upper chest and neck area -- also her head but that's more to do with the blushing and the sealer for the face-up. Here is a picture of my half elf and luna -- as well as my Supia girl -- together to give you an idea of their color difference. My luna is pretty close to her fresh out of the box color and my half elf is not so much like her original color. As far as the white scuff marks go . . . My half elf seems to be more prone to those white scuff marks than my luna. But only around her knees and she came to me with them and since I've had her she hasn't gotten any more and my luna doesn't have any at all.

I personally love the translucency of the French resin and I think it photographs better but, at the end of the day, it all comes down to personal preference. I, personally, don't mind the yellowing and taking the extra precautions -- covering them up when I'm not "playing", not spending too much time outdoors, and keeping them in a cooler room in the house that doesn't get a lot of direct sunlight -- to slow it up a bit. All though I have seen Limhwa urethane resin in person and it is very nice too and it looks pretty close to the French resin so it's likely that I may order a urethane girl in the future -- maybe?

 

TBH I can't stand French resin. It yellows super fast and does nothing for me. It's all about personal preference/tastes, but that is one thing I don't care for at all.

You can always do an oxy bath to re-whiten the doll, so to speak, but people have had varied success with that treatment (you can find out more about it in the Workshop area I believe). Sanding would also work, but again, success is varied.

I had a half-elf Limhwa from the first ordering period. Within weeks, she had begun to yellow. It wasn't super noticeable in pictures, or really in person, but I could tell. I had always kept her away from well-lit places and hid her in the dark most of the time, but the ambient light got her anyhow. So I washed my hands of the whole French resin thing and stuck with normal opaque resin.

Just thought I'd let you know my experience with it.

 

UGH I am holding myself back from jumping in on that pre-order. I don't have the funds right now, and I am most definitely not ready for a doll that size yet. But on the other hand... it's so tempting...
