EOSdoll (formerly Limhwa) Discussion

    1. He ran right past my embargo!

    2. To.M was delivered!! He is gorgeous!

His face looks smaller than my Mano, I love it.

He looks to have the large size "muscular" chest piece. Here are the measurements compared to my skinnier Mano's chest:
Slim front armhole to armhole: 4"
Muscular front armhole to armhole: 4 5/8"

Slim back armhole to armhole: 4 3/8"
Muscular back armhole to armhole: 4 5/8"

    3. Awesome, I'll be eternally grateful if you do! Thanks in advance! (:

Edit: Darn, I should have refreshed the page before posting!
He is gorgeous! Argh, now it's going to be a struggle for me because I truly love his face!
I guess I shouldn't have asked for comparisons, in the end! Lol! Thank you so much for the
comparison photos, t4124, much appreciated! ^.~

    4. @T4124 thanks so much for the pics! He looks amazing! Congrats :)

    5. Does anyone here have any pics of Tom, with a non-default face up? I tried searching for him but couldn't find very much. Sadly he doesn't seem to be too popular atm.

    6. I have a Tom, but he has the company faceup.

    7. I'd love to see them anyway, honestly. Not enough people post him! I impulse ordered him today XD Would you be able to post a profile (like a side-view) pic of him when you have time?

And forgive me, as I'm usually pretty good about finding this info, but are the 65 cm boys measurements listed anywhere? I checked the EOS site and didn't see them. Going to pop over to junky spot and see if they have it listed there.

Edit: never mind actually. They made a mistake so I'm not able to get him. Oh well! Maybe in the future.

    8. Does anyone know if you can get these dolls ,specifically Half Elf and Elly, in white skin? I sent a message to Junkyspot using that form on their website to ask questions asking them if WS was still available but never heard back from them. Someone on ebay is selling a WS Half Elf for like $700 plus shipping and claiming on the listing that the Limhwa/Eosdolls are no longer being made in WS.

    9. Sorry double post

    10. well they do have white toyous in their stock, and I don't see an annoucement on limhwa's site (then again I don't think the site was updated since they launched it).
Maybe they just don't stock a lot of them?

Do let us know if junkyspot ever replies.

    11. I just won a tan limhwa girl on ebay for an amazing price. The person selling her didn't know or didn't list the specific sculpt name, though. She's got an open mouth, anyone know which sculpt that is?

    12. Luna has an open mouth with teeth showing

    13. I think she is a Luna.

    14. Yay! This is so exciting!

    15. thanks guys! I kind of lost track of Limwha after the dollfair disaster and hiatus afterwards, but they're so lovely. and they look like pose really nicely despite being single jointed, at least in the photos i've seen. Exciting!

Somehow I got the impression that they weren't making dolls anymore, but it sound like they are? At least sort of?

anyway, i'll be sure to share when she shows up. She's still got her company faceup, but I'm planning on redoing it in a more modern style. I want to document the classic one first though :)

    16. @Lirin They definitelt are still making dolls. They released a new guy and a new toyou about a year ago and they post on flickr from time to time.
They mainly sell through junkyspot. Their sites (eosdoll.com) say they take order, but payment is through bank tranfer only so I think pretty much everyone goes through the dealer instead ^_^

    17. Congrats! I was eyeing the same doll too. shipping to where I live was rather expensive, hence I gave up bidding for it.

    18. Yeah, shipping within the country was expensive, too. they charged $63 for expedited shipping, with no other option. Yesterday I got the tracking, and they sent it UPS Ground. By the estimates I got it cost them about $40. I don't know what to do about that honestly :/

    19. I would ask them politely what the actual shipping cost was and if you will get a refund of the excess shipping charge.

    20. i ended up asking them and they say that the cheapest shipping was UPS and$66.... I guess we'll see when the package shows up end of next week :s It's just so weird to me, because going by the SD17 sized box i sent last month (that cost that much to send to Canada), and the 5 pound weight listed on the tracking, it should have cost 42-something. Oh well, lesson learned i guess.

    21. Lirin, congrats on getting the doll you wanted, sorry to hear about you getting overcharged for shipping and handling fees.

Here's my own Limhwa doll, with his new lips:

    22. oh wow, he's gorgeous!! <3

    23. Thank you very much, you are too kind. (:

    24. my limhwa girl arrived today! she showed up without the dress and shoes that were listed as 'included' when i bid... I found her a dress to borrow, but it seems she'll need her own wardrobe, being such a different shape. the previous owner put moleskin on the visible parts of the joints, NOT the joint cups, so i took that off. Now there's a sticky residue. Is it safe to use isopropyl alcohol on the tan resin. It must be, right?

she's beautiful, though, a whole lot of presence. the next step is to take her apart and clean her completely. Considering wiring her for stability in the torso, anyone done that?

    25. She is beautiful Lirin, congratulations! I use 91% isopropyl alcohol to clean my resin dolls all the time, but I don't own any tanned ones.
If it helps any, I don't believe it would damage the resin itself. However, I have no knowledge on whether it would affect the coloring -- although, I doubt it would,
I can't say for sure not having any tanned dolls myself (i.e. I haven't tested it out myself to recommend using it on tanned resin). Sorry I couldn't
      be of any more help.

    26. You might find a small spot that it's visible when she's assembled and try it. Then wait a couple days before proceeding. I think it will be fine.

    27. Does anyone know if you can buy the heads and bodies separate? Either direct or through junky spot?

    28. I've contacted the sculptor in the past and she did not sell heads separately. I think your best bet is finding a split partner, if you do not want one piece.

    29. Oh okay, thank you!

    30. What did you want the head or body?

    31. @SagoneHishukato

Junkyspot will not split the body and head either--I asked.

      • x 1
    32. Beautiful dolls everyone. :)

    33. The body

    34. @SagoneHishukato

If you want the body, you might be able to buy the whole doll at a reasonable discount via the Junkyspot Black Friday sale (lasts a weekend, usually). I found the doll (Junkyspot Black Friday) a little more than $100 off, and with in-country shipping (I see you’re in the US too), that may be, in total, the cost of the head. I also found a doll at about the same price on the DOA Marketplace

    35. Oh wow. I'll keep that in mind. Great info. Thanks!!

    36. Even better, JunkySpot seems to have extended their “Black Friday” sale and it’s still going on (click the sale banner on the home page). Most of the large Limhwa dolls are on sale.

    38. I just order Tom in normal skin and with the default face up. I'm glad for the sale junkyspot is having :)

I'm so excited to get him. I hope it doesn't take long :)

    39. Junkyspots dolls are really in stock, so he will arrive very quickly!

    40. Ah me too lol

    41. does anybody have that Eosgirl and can show me pics? she is tempting and half elf on the new body as well

    42. I snatched up the last in Stock EOS Nina from Junky Spot, so now I'm (im)patiently stalking the tracking number! I've been wanting her for 6 years, so almost since I started the hobby! I ordered her as a birthday gift to myself, and she was on sale as well as blank. Perfect!

    43. Congratulations! And Happy Birthday!

    44. Thank you! It isn't my birthday for another 2 weeks (April 1st, pffft!), but she should arrive by then. She left the US yesterday so I'm hoping she gets to Austria soon!

    45. [IMG]

      She made it yesterday!

    46. She looks very confident that she is in the right place! Great outfit! Have a very Happy Birthday!

    47. She looks great! Congrats!! :) How are you liking her?

    48. Thank you! She's fitting right in with the rest of my collection, even if she's the most realistic of any of them!

Thanks! I like her a lot, but she desperately needs to be restrung. She's super floppy! I also need to suede her so she stops falling over backwards when sitting. Her CoA says she was made October 19th, 2015, so she's an older gal. I can't believe she sat so long at the Junky Spot unbought!

Also I already gave her a face up that I'm pleased with.

    49. Oh yeah, Limhwa bodies aren't the easiest to deal with aha. They're sculpted beautifully though! I have never seen the bigger female body in person though, I assumed it posed better since it's double joint?

It confuses me why Limhwa dolls aren't more popular.

    50. I took her apart today to tighten her stringing and boy is she strung weird! Her legs at the hip sockets are pretty stiff due to how they are sculpted internally. Like the upper thighs above the mobility joint literally lock in place. And she's strung with 4 loops of elastic. One for the arms (the only normal loop), one from the head to the upper part of the lower torso piece, then one loop for each leg that's strung through a resin bar in the groin. At least now she poses better that I restring and sueded her!

    51. IzabethS, What a bright girl, really like her outfit!

I recently also settled a girl of this firm, Leda MSD, named Emma

    52. nancy_schroeder_ca, Thank you! She unexpectedly appeared by sharing her with my handmade, so joking ... like her name is barter ... Emma Barter

    53. Thanks for the compliment @Katushka_Nitok ! This is not her permanent outfit, I'm still waiting on it to arrive from Russia off of Etsy. Turns out she can wear SD13 boy pants though!

Your girl is lovely! I had a Lily for a while but upgraded the character to SD sized as I don't really like MSD dolls... Holly, my Limhwa EOS Nina, is the mom to Melody, my Doll Chateau Snow Nymph. That was one thing that kept me from buying her for so long was that I feared they'd look really awkward together. I was afraid for nothing though!

    54. IzabethS, Both are pretty! But I was struck by the image of Nina, an unusual ... attractive

    55. Agreed, Nina has a certain beauty to her. I've pined after her for years!

    56. I made a comparison pic of my Luna and Eva when they were blank. I find their similarity and differences fascinating!

    57. Both are beautiful! They are pretty similar, but in these blank pictures one can definitely see the differences too!

Here's my Nina, named Holly, again. I need to take new pictures of her...
