Limhwa emailed me back! She says Tol (Tuel, To-L) is available in white and ns!

I gotta wait for tan, but I'm so freakin happy she's releasing him again!

 

I just got a letter from Emory saying that my doll should be arriving this week too!! The downside is
If she doesn't get here by Friday (doubtful) I'll have to wait till next Friday to open her because my daughter will be going out of town till then and will be upset if I open it without her. . I guess that means I can have time to organize a box opening party with my local doll meetup friends. SO excited!

Now I don't know if I should be happy or upset; I always wanted
a To-L but when he came out I was broke. And now that he's available
again, I don't want to add more dolls to my collection (besides the ones
that are in my already long wish list)! Oh well, I guess as long as she
doesn't re-release Mano I might be safe – although If she revises the
67cm Limho body I could still be in trouble. XD

i ordered my tuel in white skin, was a little sad that he isn't being made in pink skin like limhwa used to! But that just means a big blushing job so that the nabarro head i have for him will look okay
now i'll have a floating tuel head and a spare mano body but they're different resins so not much chance of making a second hybrid, sadly.
I'll post pics as soon as he arrives though! I've never seen a white tuel so this should be interesting!

 

So... he just arrived today!! His box was wrapped in metallic wrapping paper with a pink bow, totally gorgeous!
Sadly I was on my way to catch a train to go to another city for school, so I only managed to rip the wrapping open, swoon a bit, then pack him up till i get home on Thursday! D=
But from what I saw, his WS resin is sort of vaguely creamy yellow, (I was hoping for stark white but he is going to be blushed anyway, so meh) He is absolutely gorgeous though! Such lovely smooth resin, not the toothy resin I've had from Limhwa before, I wonder if he had been sanded?
He came with wig, eyes and clothes! I will have to wait until Thursday to do photos unfortunately, but you guys! Tuel is gorgeous! (also the only WS one that I have ever seen. it suits him!)

 

Psycholily I can't wait to see pictures of your boy and his extras that he came with! Did he come in any special sort of box too?

I just got word that my doll Mimi is shipped. I would really like to find out what the difference is when you order direct from Limhwa or if you do like I did and order through the Junkyspot. I already know mine isn't coming with clothes and I had to order wig and eyes for an extra price.
I'm thinking if I ever order another Limhwa that I may get my friend in Korea to help me write a letter so I can just order direct instead. It seemed like it took about the same time but Psycholily not only got her's sooner but had extras shipped with hers. That sounds like a plus to me!

 

Citrinepoint - The box was.... purple? I don't remember! D= [EDIT: It was green *facepalm*]but a very nice cardboard box with the name of the company on it, pretty standard as far as boxes go, I think! The wrapping paper was quite a lovely surprise though The pilows that came with him seem to be cotton, instead of the satin ones I usually get with dolls, I find them to be better because they aren't so slippery ^_^

My doll took... around 50 days? I'm not sure if the extras come only with boy dolls or if the girls get extras too, but I do know that Limhwa makes to order no matter whether you order through a dealer or not, so I can't imagine the production time is any different?

EDIT: I've been quite rushed lately and may not get to take proper pics of him till next week T_T Just had time to snap a pic of his head for the MP!

 

Hello! Can someone tell me the shoulder width of the Limhwa 57cm girls? I can't seem to find that information anywhere and the only measurement is for shoulder to elbow.

And from what I gathered during the first ordering period through JunkySpot,
the head available with the old body is slightly larger and less mature than the one
available on the EOS body. Although, I can't seem to find that information anymore
but it would be awesome if someone could confirm it, since I'm interested in the head
and for me the smaller & more mature, the better.

I have the Half-Elf faceplate and headback from an EOSDoll body, and the dreaming Half-Elf faceplate from the old Limhwa body, both bought from Junkyspot. The dreaming faceplate fits the headback fine, and I don't think there's a massive difference. I can compare them when the dreaming faceplate comes back from the spa.

From the photos on the EOS flickr account, it seems like the EOS Half-Elf has smaller eyes but that could just be me
being fooled by what I recall reading and not an actual difference - I'll have to try comparing both opened-eyed sculpts in Photoshop.

Does anyone happen to know when the next pre-order might be?
It's all very confusing trying to order one of these girls!

 

You can check JunkySpot's Pre-order forum to see when Emory runs a new pre-order period for (Limhwa) EOS dolls.
He usually runs a new one after the orders from the last one have arrived but I'm not sure how long that takes.
JunkySpot also has a newsletter with updates of new items in the shop but I'm not entirely sure if it includes news
regarding pre-ordering periods but it couldn't hurt to subscribe. I hear you can also pre-order directly from EOS but
I'm not entirely sure how that works - still you have to wait until the dolls for JunkySpot get made and shipped to receive
yours. I hope that helps. (:


As a side note, I had heard that you had to be a member of JunkySpot to pre-order dolls from them but I don't check
often enough there to know for sure if that is true anymore or if you can pre-order dolls regardless. I believe you had to
post on the forum which items you wanted to pre-order and you can only post if you're a member but that might have changed.

I still really want a dreaming half elf. I have so many ideas for one. >_> As a boy.

 

I really want a half elf Limhwa, but the eos website is so confusing to me no details of the body or pictures given. Is there any where else I can access this information and is she a good doll? I am very new to BJDs so any information would be appreciated.

They have the Half Elf 57cm version (with the old Limwha body) in stock right now, as well as
what I believe to be the new Half Elf sculpt with the new Eos body. I don't own any of the girls
so I can't help with information about them being "good dolls" or not but I hope the rest helps. (:

Thank-you very much I have had a look and I think I will order one. Looking at the description it states the seams are not sanded can anyone explain what this means and how does it affect the dolls appearance?

 

Seams are a normal part of most dolls/toys that are cast in two-part molds; you get seams where the two molds meet.
Some BJD come without them because they are either sanded by the magnufacturer or they have a differnt molding process.
There are various tutorials on the customizing section on how to remove the seam-lines yourself or you can pay someone else to do it for you.
A lot of people don't mind them however, since again, a lot of other dolls (and toys) have them. In the end it is a matter
of personal preference - also, some companies have seams that are not as bad and some have ones that are "terrible,"
while some vary from batch to batch.

I removed all the seam-lines from my own dolls because I like blushing them and seamlines get in the way of the look I want
but otherwise I think I could have lived with most. I hope that helps. (:

I was going to answer, but got beaten to it, so instead I'll assist with a visual representation of a seamline. My boy, Lux, still has his seams, but are pretty much invisible. You can see his on his shoulder (left side) in the picture. Most of my dolls have been pretty good with not having very noticeable seams so far.

From what I remember from doing a preorder @ junkyspot for limwha/EoS, you can order an original head on the new body, but its not available in tan unfortunately

 

I've been asking LIMHWA directly about tan all year, but she is still replying that it isn't possible right now, unfortunately. . But someday! The instant tan is back on the menu, I am buying a Tuel so fast I might sprain something. I can't wait!

Anyway, here's my new Luna with my tan Half Elf. I just finished the Luna's faceup, and I love her! Luna makes the Half Elf look more childish in the face by comparison. The Luna is pointier, the Half Elf is rounder. I adore them.

Anyone has any noticie about high heel feet on 60cm Eosbody? She said me a year ago what she was working on them, but hasn't any notice.

 

So I just ordered a Half-Elf from Junky Spot. She will be my first Limhwa girl.

What sizes do you guys recommend for wigs and eyes? I see Junky Spot says 8-9 for wigs and 16mm for the eyes; I would think 16mm would be too big for her, especially for a more realistic look?

Just wanted to double check before I order anything for her.

 

For the realistic look, yes, 16mm is far too big. The whites are barely visible. JS posted some pics of their own of the Half Elf, especially a face shot, and you can see that the iris is way too big if you want her to look more "real." My friend uses Eyeco Soft Glass in 14mm and I really like the look. Unfortunately, I don't have any images to share of it.

 

I use 14mm glass Ginarolos in my half elf I think. It works well.

 

Does anyone know if the Limhwa company stopped selling the Dreaming Half-Elf? Seems on their EOSdoll website, there is no longer a dreaming half-elf for sale, only on junkyspot. Hmmm...

 

Dreaming Half Elf is discontinued but the sculptor released her as special request of various people to JS.

 

Is it possible to order from the Eosdoll site now? I remember a while back you couldn't...?

Hello! I 'm wondering if anyone has the new eosdoll body and might have found any clothes that got other than Iplehouse SID/EID girl clothes? She's a tricky size and ends up having to borrow clothes from my bigger boys, but I'd really like to be able to get her some more clothes.

Try with the VolksSD DD clothes the measures are very similar as EOSdoll body.

 

Urgh I am dying to know when the next tan release from them might be. I always want dolls which are hard to find!! Really love tan dreaming half elf Anyone know any latest news on Limhwa?

 

From what I can see JunkySpot hasn't take preorders for EOS dolls since March of last year.
However, just this past December they had tanned Limhwa/EOS dolls in-stock (they still have
some of them but none of the large girls in tan). New preorders used to be run once the dolls from the
previous preorder had been shipped but I'm not sure if that is still the case since again, JS hasn't
run one in a while (they still stock the dolls however, just haven't paid attention how often).
I believe you can also order directly from Limhwa/EOS through the artist's website but I'm not sure
exactly how that works. I hope that helps a bit. (:

In the past Limhwa was willing to take orders via email. Payments were made via bank transfer as she didn't have Paypal (and didn't plan to get it back then.)

Her English isn't too good, so it can be a little tricky communicating with her. I had a friend translate my messages to Korean but I do know she replies in English, as best as she can. I just felt better sending my messages in Korean so there would not be anything "lost in translation."

The last thing I heard was that she wasn't going to continue making tan due to problems with the casting company, but this was during the worst days of Korean winter where weather conditions become even less favorable for resin casting.

 

I am so disappointed that Junky spot hasn't done a Pre-order in a long time. x_x I really want to get a Half elf! I hope they hold another order soon..

 

Junkyspot recently listed a bunch of in-stock Limhwa dolls!

 

Yeah. And within an hour or so all Normal skin dolls were gone. xD Atleast on the half elf.
