    2. Loving your fun! So very cute.

    3. What a great pic, jarmie - they look adorable together! Really nice to see someone posting a new Catsy pic here, too. I've been so bad about taking new pics myself and I miss seeing new pics on this thread. Thank you for sharing! :kitty2

    4. are elfdoll catsy dolls still available? I found it diffecutlt to navigate the site I found, art something, wasn't elfdoll.

    5. Sorry deedee17, as far as I know catsy is no longer made, only available "used" sometimes. Thanks Cattwo and Valli - glad you like my silly pic!

    6. Thankyou Jarmie. Aww what a shame.

    7. Glad to see a new pic, jarmie! Every Catsy needs a minion.
I just took two shots of Purley, inspired by a new prop.

    8. LOL! Never thought I'd see the day you had Purley potty trained! These pics are wonderful, phanuel! That outhouse is a fantastic prop and nice touch with those magazines, too! :kitty2

    9. Great prop phanuel! It's true, isn't it, that one new prop can inspire all sorts of silliness. Great pics!

    10. Thanks, guys! I get a lot of catalogues and emails from http://www.miniatures.com/ and I'm always having to restrain myself from ordering, but once in a while I see something too good to pass up.

    11. Fabulous puss pics!

    12. A couple more for today:

    14. She's really sweet.

    15. I had to get that outfit for the bunny slippers :kitty2

    16. Definitely! Those bunny slippers are fab!!

    17. Kitties definitely need their beauty sleep!

    18. Pool Party!

It's so hot down here, my Catsy crew decides that getting wet isn't such a bad thing after all. :kitty2

    19. Great shot! Although the lady on the right has gotten way too much sun :kitty1 Love the bathing suits and that tiki mug! Reminds me of the late 1950s-early '60s when all things Hawaiian were popular.

    20. I so miss my Catsy! All of your pics are so wonderful . . . and I can live a little vicariously through all of you!

    21. Love the pool party, Cattwo.
Awww poor you. Good thing you can come here for a kitten fix, spensers_mom.

    22. Thanks for all your nice comments everyone! Much appreciated! :fangirl:

It seems like it's been ages since I took a Catsy pic. I get lots of ideas for them, but the set-ups take more time than I usually have. I've gotten more into the "point and shoot" mode these days, but I actually enjoyed doing this one. My cats with the magnetic feet sat perfectly on the edge of that little metal wash tub, because when I took their feet off, they stuck right to it - lol! But my Josie doesn't have that kind of body, so that's why she wound up lounging in the lawn chair with her tropical drink. And, of course, what's a girls' pool party without a boy like Bogart crashing it, right? :kitty2

    23. Cute! Love that innertube float. (It's hot here too.)

    24. Thank you, jarmie! :kitty2 They made a series of swimsuit Chelsea and friends dolls and that innertube (and the swimsuit the orange cat is wearing) is from one of them. Chelsea's clothes are usually a decent fit for Catsy.

    25. When I first looked into these anthro kitties, I told myself I would ever buy them, they looked too weird for my taste. But now I'm here and I'm so enamoured by them I must have one :ablink: I guess since my tastes have shifted to more vintage/retro looking dolls, and Catsy owns that look! Thank you to phanuel and Cattwo for convincing me through your cute photos <3

So I hope you don't mind my noob question, how does one go about ordering a Catsy? :sweat I know they're by Elfdoll, but their website has no dolls whatsoever on display and I'm thinking they might be discontinued? Are they only obtainable via the second-hand market now?

Also, what clothing would they generally fit? I've seen people dressing them in monster-high clothing, but would Blythe clothes also fit? They seem to be on the slim side which is why I think they may fit Blythe clothing. Last thing, if one would purchase a dollhouse or miniature furniture, would 1/6 or 1/12 be ideal? They are 14cm so that would be 1/12 correct?

      Thanks in advance :)

Edit: I've seen some Catsys with paw hands and other with normal "human" hands. Does each cat come with both interchangeable ones?

    26. Welcome to the Catsy thread, Chamillia! Glad to hear you enjoyed our pics here and that maybe they've helped persuade you to adopt a Catsy. We don't mind "noob" questions - we enjoy sharing any info we have!

With regard to Elfdoll and their site, I think your guess may be every bit as good as mine. When they first closed the original site, it was with the idea they would reopen and perhaps offer dolls through ordering periods like other bjd shops. But that was more than a year ago and there's been no word since about any future plans. I hate to be pessimistic but I think they may not come back. If that's the case, then the only way you can adopt a Catsy is to find one here in DOA's Marketplace or perhaps on eBay. They do turn up every so often and you can always post a WTB in the Marketplace for one, too.

Size-wise, Catsy is only 14 cm or 5 1/2 inches tall - so very tiny. Dollhouse furniture and accessories work well with Catsy in the 1:12 scale. Clothing from Blythe is too large for Catsy. Here is a pic of a Catsy with one of my Estella bunnies. The bunny is wearing Blythe clothing so you can see what I mean - it's much too big for a Catsy:

Better clothing choices are fashions form Barbie's little sisters, Kelly or Chelsea. There are also lovely outfits made by Dollinstyle for slim 14 cm dolls. You can find them at Denver Doll Emporium, Doll Peddler and there may be some other retailers who carry them. I used to swipe the clothes from Bratz Kidz dolls, too, since much of their clothing fits okay, even though Bratz Kidz are taller. In the pool party pic I posted earlier, two swimsuits came from Chelsea dolls, one from Kelly and two are from a Bratz Kidz. Some dollhouse doll clothing works, like Heidi Ott, but it's hit and miss. Some things will work and others will run a bit too long or large. If you'd like, go check out my flickr album and you'll be able to see all the different clothes I've been able to find for mine: https://www.flickr.com/photos/88404558@N07/sets/72157632628410190

Regarding the paw vs hands question - When Catsy was first introduced, she came with human style hands. These hands are tied on, as are her feet. The next generation of cats came with magnetic paws and feet parts, so it's easier to swap out bare feet to shoe feet. If you see a white Catsy with hands, she's an early one. If she has paws, she's a later one. Black Catsy also has paws, but since she was produced between the old hand and new magnetic paw period, she comes with paws that are tied on, not magnetic.

Phanuel and others here may have additional advice for you. If you have any more questions, just let us know! Good luck in your Catsy search, Chamillia! :kitty2

    27. Thank you so much Cattwo for the extremely helpful response! <3

Looks like I may have another doll who is going to be very difficult to dress and shop for :sweat I have slim MSDs, and now I may have a slim tiny >_< I hoped Blythe clothing would fit, but there is no way that can happen now lol. Although the good thing from the tiny size is I can finally get a dollhouse and some 1/12 scale miniatures! I've always wanted to decorate my own dollhouse! :D

I'm glad the newer versions come with paws too, they look so much cuter imo :)

      Thank you again!!

    28. Cattwo has covered just about everything. Unfortunately, many of my sources for Catsy clothing have disappeared, including Elfdoll! But you can still find Only Hearts Club Li'l Kids outfits on Amazon and they fit pretty well.

On the plus side, settings and props are abundantly available from any dollhouse miniature vendor!

    29. There doesn't even seem to be a way to Contact Elfdoll...! So we can't even ask.
Eh. Just as well. I know Rainman has been wanting to concentrate on his own stuff for some time now. Making money on dolls is nice but customers can be a headache even when they don't mean to be. I also know what it's like to have several interests and neglect some for others. The guy needed a break from the dolls. We can all sit and hope he'll come back but only time will tell. I'm sure we'd all celebrate the return of a Catsy ANY DAY!

    30. That is such a great picture, phanuel! That lobster's hours are numbered (if that look on the face of one your dolls is any indication, lol!).

    31. Very true Ballerina! (I had always hoped they would think about making a Yosd sized version but . . . )

    32. Now that's a rather strange guest to share your loo with - lol! Phaedra is certainly an excellent hostess! Another wonderfully charming pic, phanuel! :kitty2

BTW - I think that's the nicest version I've seen of Mushroom Peddler's octopus - love the way she did the spots!

    33. Thanks, Cattwo, I'm very happy with my mollusk, the spots do look great. I had to wait seven months for him (he was supposed to be finished in April) but I am not disappointed in the results!

    34. phanuel , that litter box is precious

I wanted to ask you guys about the price range of Catsy's on the secondary market. How much are they usually sold for on eBay/DoA? I've had no luck with either sites before so are there any other options? I'm in no hurry, just want to be armed with knowledge incase one pops up at the right time :)

    35. At this point owners are going to be keen to the fact that Elfdoll seems to be "no more." Catsies were $250 from Elfdoll, with the exception of Black Catsy who was limited, she was $300.
NOW, those prices will probably be jacked up quite a bit; as to how much, one can never guess what a seller is going to see fit for a doll that's no longer available. Sometimes it depends on how desperate they are for cash, others might just want top price because they know a buyer's chances are slim to none. I've seen Black Catsy listed for as much as double ($600). But since Elfdoll has ceased production I haven't seen any Catsies listed.

    36. I was just wondering this myself..I'm really sad since I really wanted to get a boy to go with my girl, they would have been perfect match for a topper on my wedding cake. Now I have to think of another route..I still have yet to finish blushing up my girl...

Phanuel love your Catsy's little pet. :)

    37. So far, all the Catsys I've seen for sale here on DoA have been reasonably priced--at or around the original Elfdoll price--including the original white Catsy Girl I got during the time between the Elfdoll productions. But these were before the company's current, maybe permanent, hibernation. It's hard to say, some people like to make a fat profit and others just want to sell their doll.

    38. Thank you for the input guys! :-O I hope that when I do find a Catsy, it won't hurt my bank account too much lol.

    39. I agree with phanuel - sometimes people just want to sell their dolls quickly and they only want to recoup what they have in them. Other times, yes, you'll find people asking very high prices, but that doesn't always mean they get those prices. As with any doll, prices usually have to do with popularity and demand. As much as I love Catsy, she is not an extraordinarily popular doll, which is why her secondary market price should never be much higher than her original cost, in my opinion - even if Elfdoll never makes another. I can't begin to count how many dolls I've gotten through the years at prices well below what they originally cost - some really rare dolls, too. So for those of you wanting a Catsy, definitely don't give up hope of finding one at a price you're comfortable paying. :kitty2

BTW - Just a note to say that when Black Catsy was introduced, I believe it took over 2 years before she was sold out everywhere. And she was only done in an addition of 40 dolls. So this is what I mean about Catsy not being a super popular doll.
