Dust of Dolls Appi discussion part 1

Well (if your profile is right) you are in Russia and I am in the USA! So there's definitely a time difference there with distance and waiting. I also wait about an extra week for international deliveries since I no longer live in New York state and now live in North Carolina. Just that little bit makes a huge difference.

My tracking number still has not updated which makes me cry a little on the inside. To help ease the wait I've done a quick little mockup for my incoming Coti (who is stealing Cota's antlers apparently)

Although this is strange, because I made an order almost in the last days of the preorder, but on the 5th day I received the track number. Although the premise does not hurry.

 

Just heard that the snow is really very bad in France and they've delayed postal work for 3 days to keep everyone safe! I am glad they do that as I think they send people out in dangerous conditions in the USA far too frequently. But that is probably why a lot of people aren't seeing their packages move!

 

Yes the weather was awful for the last 4 days here in Paris. Dust of Dolls is based here so the package are all stored at the postal office, waiting =/ But the weather was better today so, hopefully, all of the orders that were stuck will begin their travel

 

Ah, I forgot to add, I've received it but the tracking just says the package has been sitting at the post office for 5 days without moving, hence my sadness! But I do have my tracking number!

Oooh I just checked and it shows she has now left the country!!!

 

exciting! I am looking forward to hearing a review of the body compared to your Appi. Mine are both getting faceups so it will be a wait!

 

I might not get nude photos only because I hate undressing Leilani! The dress she wears is YOSD sized and it's a mix of tape and pins holding the back tighter together But I'll definitely let y'all know about the posing and such! I have a hopeful Dolly Date with my partner on Sunday so if she arrives I probably will do body comparisons because I really want to suede Leilani's body. Its so hard to pose

 

I know original body had a hard time standing and also couldn't sit upright. Crossed legs was the best leaning against something. I am very glad she redid the body. I think the bow legs are a bit less also which should help with the standing!

 

But the old version of the body is so feminine and refined .. and these cute little legs

 

Yes but in person it couldn't sit up right not at all, can't stand. I guess if that's what you like looks wise. I think this new body still has the similar look but she has fixed the posing issues.

I love the new body, so much more posing possibilities !

 

After I restrung my Appi Lünn (and I think I added hooks to her feet) she can stand well in shoes. I can't remember if I sueded her, but that would help, too.

 

Omg some of the photos that have been going up on Facebook and Instagram are killing me! The posing and the creativity is just!!!! Beautiful!!!!

Nice! I ordered both with faceup. Maybe I will add a bit of extra color to Cota by Viridian if it looks like it needs it. I love the Cota Esthy faceup on her own girls - I would have ordered that Cota with her faceup if the example had looked like that! it's more refined than the Cota she put up for makeup example. I am glad I ordered Coti though, like many I found her more interesting and appealing over time looking at her mold.

 

Ahhh so many gorgeous girls~! Coti has grown on me a lot over time (especially those lips~!) but I'm still glad I went with Cota, I have so few smiling dolls and she'll fit the character I have planned a bit better

Oh no.... I was so excited to get my girl today that I planned to stay home. Tracking has been saying she'd arrive.

I was hoping she'd arrive yesterday (and had a slim hope for today), because she arrived at 6am at the PO in the town next door and it said it left town But it hasn't arrived here, so have to wait till Monday T_T

Has anyone else found the magnets in the antlers to be fairly weak? Even on Cota they were not staying well with a hard cap wig (which is mostly all I have now). I'm trying to figure out how to make them stronger or what I can do to make them stay better.

 

Now I am wondering how long it will be for the other two heads that go with this body to be released! I would think there may be a preorder soon for those two dolls....

 

Ahhh congrats @SmoteyMote~! My girl is finally in Aus, but I'm not sure how much longer she'll take to actually get to me ;___;

I started working on Aphelion's faceup today.... and then "dropped" a bottle of glitter on her. We'll see if I stick with this or end up re-doing it. I still have a bit to go on this faceup though and I'll give it a while before trying something new!

My sweet girl is finally here~! Words can't describe how smitten I am with her, I've wanted an Appi for years now so it's a bit surreal to finally own one~♥ Her legs are pretty kicky, but beyond that she's a lovely poser, and quite possibly my favourite doll (though I don't like picking favourites lol) I've started working on a pattern for a corset for her, and will hopefully start on a wig soon too~

Congrats to everyone else who's received their dolls, and hopefully the wait won't be too long for everyone else~♥

My Dust of Dolls finally arrived after being shipped on Feb 6th then staying in France for 12 days then when the tracking to deliver was rescheduled on Monday, then Out for Delivery on Tuesday but the post man forgot to deliver it and finally got it Wednesday so total of 15 days.

The box that they came in had rips on the seams and they arrived in weird positions but safe and sound they were so I’m quite happy about that! The only complaint I have is I’m missing a pair of eyes and the foam emit a lot of lint all over them as you can see in the close up.

They’re both simply adorable and I love their size and their hands!

 

They are so adorable! I'm sorry to hear that the box had rips and you were missing a pair of eyes. That happened to me too, I only got one pair of eyes but figured it wasn't worth the hassle to notify them.

Did everyone else who ordered both get two pairs of eyes?

 

I've been trying to find a record of how much the Appi cost, so I can start setting aside the money for one in the future, but I can't seem to find it anywhere since they are not for sale right now. Can anyone tell me how much they cost?

 

They were sold on the official website at the price of 400 euros nude and 464 euros with makeup + shipping.

 

I saw someone's unboxing and she received both eyes for coti and cota so i assume it was just a mistake.

I was also missing a pair of eyes in my Coti & Cota order ! I did notify them but got no answer yet.

 

Thank You! That is not as bad as I thought! Everyone selling one on the marketplace seems to be trying to sell them for a lot more... supply and demand I guess, but way way out of my price range.

 

Usually limiteds sell for more than their asking price, esp if the company made it known that it'll be the only release of this particular mold as it was with Cöti and Cöta.

Was the reason I got her because I knew I couldn't be a**** to shell out the second hand market prices but I still wanted her

 

I agree i’m so sad to see how much people sells their dolls just arrived, if there is a preorder for jamä i will not miss my chance.

 

She is beautiful! I saw her on a flickr. Very much it is pleasant!

 

Finally got Parfait's wig finished~ I Think I did okay, considering I know nothing about cutting hair lol. She stills needs eyes, faceup, clothes etc. but I'm currently working on a crown for her (priorities am I right?) I really can't deal with how in love I am with her, she's just the sweetest thing~♥

My body arrived, so I tried out my hybrid with an Aileendoll Cedric Cyclops head.

 

They are all so amazing and adorable! Definitely need to put some money aside for one later.

Just an update I received an email reply saying that they will send me a pair of eyes since it was missing. I’ll keep you guys posted if I do receive them and how long that takes
