I admit I'm a little guilty of that. Most of the time it's because Seung doesn't like to produce different poses and my photoshoots with him are barely enough to produce a random spam attack. I do agree that sometimes DoC's can get pretty underrated though.

Hello! Well maybe I will order an Hoo's head with face up and then order the body in the future, but since I know some companies doesen't make the exact skin tone from one production to another (hope ya understand me) and i was wondering if someone knows if this happens with DoD, and i'm also worried about if the head goes out of stock, because I need HIM, he's perfect for my character.. Can u give me a little help here? Thanks (:

 

I think DoD resin varies a bit. I have a DoC from last year, and someone I know has another DoD doll from later the same year, and hers was a bit pinker. I dunno if it's common for them to change or if that was coincidental though.

 

I really need Homme Ivan and Homme Kirill they're going to be characters in my story as little demons who come to harass my guy Raiden (Soom Monzo) they're gonna look so small next to him xD is there anything i should know about DOD's bodies? I know about the horrible resin matching throughout the years and such but thats it D: like any weak joints or so i should look out for? They're so cute though

 

Only thing I can think of is beware the stringing- my Si came tight and managed to scratch up his neck pretty bad :/

 

yeah my DoC Petsha was quite tight to begin with but she loosened up after a couple of days and some gentle moving around of her joints,

also I don't know if it was a one-off problem but she hadn't been finished properly, her seamlines are showing on some of her limbs though other than that shes awesome :3

 

Seams aren't uncommon with quite a few companies. Both my DoC's arrived with seams and so have a good number of the rest of my dolls. Doesn't mean they're not finished and nothing to worry about

 

I would greatly advise you DON'T buy the parts separately because DOD's resin colour does not stay consistent. In fact, they are the worst company when it comes to resin colour differences, which you would think wouldn't happen since they only have ONE colour resin (except for those one-off tan ones).

It definitely changes every year and even every six months, probably if they run out of the current batch and mix more.

I'm excited you want a Hoo - they're not very popular and not many are here on the forum. I love my Hoo and DOD did a great custom face-up on mine.

So depressed that I didn't do well in my exams.

 

I have a question about the old girl body? Would anyone choose the old body over the new girl body even though it does not have double joints? I mean, let`s say that the character you want for your girl is just a little girl and not a teen. And you would not want her to have teen shape. Would it be worth it to get the old body over the new? Will the posing be good enough for a single jointed doll to ignore that it only have single joints?

He's a Homme Ivan. And I've had him for two years now!

 

Its usually mostly up to you, if you're more into poses, I suggest you could make a hybrid or mod the old body for more posability or just sand the new body for smaller breasts.

Thank you so much. I am going to order a Pitts as soon as I have the money. But I think I might go for the old body. I could always wire it to make it pose better. I just love the shape of the old body so much.

 

It's been years since I visited this thread, I was hoping to see more than 100 pages xD

After almost 3 years, I just remembered that i haven't added my Orien (tender too) to the database...the main reason was because I wasn't bonding with him, I had a hard time with him, I changed his name, face up and I even put him up for sale 2-3 times...luckily I never sold him :] all it took was a change of wig XD it was the same wig he used since the beginning but I chopped it off one day when I was bored , without a care in the world(I wasn't planning to use it anyway or so i thought) but then i looked at my finished work lol and decided to try it on my Orien and BANG!! BANG! BANG!!! that was the Orien I was waiting for!!!!! and even though i bonded with him a year ago, I just realized I haven't post any pics of him on this thread!

I just received my little Butters and took pics with him...it was dark/midnight and inside my room, so please excuse the bad quality...

But I have a question for everyone... the eye area for the new sculpts (from Twin-B to the newest), is it really that concave that the eyes look like they're always looking down (esp. domed eyes) or is it just bad beveling on DoD's part? I kinda like Mint and Twin-B but how the eyes looked threw me off. Dx

I felt the same way! I think it's because his eyes have been strangely placed inside his head..

He actually doesn't have any teef... the space between his lips just leaves enough room to paint one... something I have to do every time I give him a face-up cause it just multiplies his cuteness. |D

Quick DoC noob question - what size wig do they wear? Specifically for a Bee-a. I looked all over their site and couldn't find anything.

 

I think they normally wear 7-8inch. I know that Petsha's head size is smaller than normal, but I'm pretty sure that Bee-a is 7-8.

Kid Delf Wig I have (KDW 37) and a Leeke wig are slightly big on my Too head (which I"m pretty sure is the boy version of Bee-a sculpt), but not so much that they're unwearable. So I agree with the 7-8, although you might be able to fit on a 7.5

 

Thanks guys! While I'm here - I've been looking at Bee-a photos and it almost seems like there are two different versions. I don't mean "tender" either. In some shots it looks like her lips are slightly open and in others they are closed like the product shots on the DoD site. Is this just an angle thing? In some custom face-ups I've even seen teeth. It's almost misleading since I really like how she looks on the DoD product page, but some customer shots look like a different mold and others don't. It's odd.

 

If she is the same sculpt as Too with just outward change to the lips (I'm 98% sure), it's just face-up. I paint "teef" on my Too. There's enough room to put some white between the lips that it looks like teeth.

 

I have a bee-a ^^ So I can help a little. I think as a general rule, 7-8" would fit. I only had two wigs to compare, but the leekeworld M-size was a bit big (easily wearable with a rubber wig cap) while a Formydoll wig was a nice fit, since their sizes tend to run tighter. So it kind of depends on the company and how tight they make their wig caps. Hope that helps!

I humbly have to disagree. Bee a's mouth isn't as pouty, and her nose is much tinier then Too's. XD I thought they would look more alike in person, but apparently not.

I think you might be right with the angle thing, and also that it's possible some are just painted that way? I thought my tender Bee-a's lips were closed, until I got a close up and realized they look the slightest bit open with the new faceup she has. So I'm thinking that if you have a darker line between the lips, it would make them appear more open like the site

 

Bee-A's lips are slightly open. Here's some pictures of my Bee-A taken/face-up by the lovely Ticuk. The 'closed' look is probably due to the DOD face-up, usually they paint a dark line between the lips.

If you just want a Bee-A, try finding a splitting partner for a Too/Tender Too at the Marketplace - Splits or you can open a Thread yourself and host it. If you're lucky you might find one, and save on shipping cost.

 

Err... another question. What size eyes does Bee-a use? On the DoD site they only say 16mm or 14mm. Does that mean 16 for Too and 14 for Bee-a? Thanks again!

 

that's up to you. I've used 16 and 14 mm on my Too. It depends on how much white/iris you want to show.

 

I've put both in my Too, and he usually wears 16mm because I like him to have a more innocent look. Here's a 16mm look:

Nabbed some Seung pictures today, but not a heck of a lot of them.

 

I've got a 7/8 wig from Leekeworld on mine. When I first got it, it was slipping a little (this may just be because its very long and thick), but I just put a little velcro on the head and the inside of the wig and it stays on just fine.

 

Hello, I was wondering what bodies a DoC head would fit well on. I'm really interested in the kid delf body but I'm not sure if the head would fit or not. I can't get a new DoC body because my boy has yellowed a lot over the years.

 

hey everyone my boyfriend an I are both thinking of getting a twing-key each and i was wondering if anyone had some lovely spam they could post up of their own?

 

It should fit, but I don't know how the resin match would work. Even yellowed I dunno how that'd look. o.0 If I remember tomorrow I'll try and do a head-swap with my boys and get a picture, but I've never taken my Si's head off without help before so no promises ^^;

 

Is yours from the original NS color (not the NS pink white?) if so, it might work. My KD is only slightly peachier than my unknown year (but definitely not pink) Too. The skintone looks close in light and/or flash but there's still a difference. Could probably work with blushing.
