My Jade (Elva Mamie) finally got a new faceup!



The wig she was sent with has really grown on me, but I'm still looking for the "right" eyes for her... After seeing the "Citrus Cocoa" ones on Painted Wings, I'm starting to think a spring green like those would be nice. Anyone have any recommendations?

 

I think a pair of emerald green eyes would really brighten her face up. She is beautiful! Congrats on a lovely girl!

 

She's beautiful Kittzel! I love her eyelashes, they look very delicate and natural. I love green eyes even though my favorite color is blue! They look very enchanting/regal.

 

@Meggethann @Sunrei Thanks! I really like these eyelashes too, I think they're Dolk? I'll check for sure if anyone's interested. They're much more wirey than the Volks ones I used before, so they look very lush but don't bend to sit flush in her eyes wells very easily.

 

Oh I've never ordered anything from Dolk before. I ordered my doll's eyes from Luts.

Hi! Does someone have their Little Elva on junior body and willing to share pictures please? The promotion pictures are not very good. I would like to hear about posability also. It's hard to say what is the difference from the standard body apart from smaller bust and different hands.

My goal was to give her a more understated look (compared to the pink lips and mascara-lashes of her previous face" and re-balance her features by slightly altering her mouth and eye shape... just with paint, no permanent mods.

I can’t help with clothing/shoes, as mine is on a Luts Kid Delf body, but I bought the head straight from DreamingDoll, and it took less than two months. Once I got a shipping estimate, it was right on time. Their checkout system also seemed to work smoothly. I hope you have a good ordering experience. These dolls are stunning!

 

Hey Riene! I haven’t ordered from DDoll in a good while myself (not since I got my Lia in 2012–and holy crap have I really had her that long???? XD). From what I can remember it took maybe a month or two to receive her, and it says on their website that the wait time is generally anywhere from 40 to 50 business days, so 1 to 2 months seems about right.

As for clothes, my girl can wear a mix of standard mini and slim mini clothes. She is taller than Minifees, so sleeves and pant legs and whatnot made for them might be a bit short on her, but if you get stuff fashioned more for Unoa, Narae and so on, it’ll fit her just fine! I’d say be careful with non-stretchy skinny jeans and whatnot though. It might not seem like it in pictures, but the Little Elva thighs are actually pretty thick.

Nine9Style is the safest bet for finding clothes that fit since they actually have a Little Elva girl modeling their clothes. I also have my girl in some boy pants I bought from Alice’s Collections that fit her just fine.

As for shoes, her feet are about the same size as the female M-line Minifees, so they’re pretty itsy bitsy, but it doesn’t look at all off if you put her in standard Minifee sized shoes. For some of the flats I have, I’ve just stuffed the toes with paper towel or tissue bits to make sure they don’t fall off. On the plus side, plenty of extra room for her to wear stockings/socks along with her shoes!

 

Mine also shipped right about where they estimated. I think it might have been at the long end of their estimated window rather than the short end, but still pretty punctual.

I've been roaming the forum for a while now and I stumbled upon this thread just today! My first ever BJD is a Little Elva Airi and I absolutely adore her. I ordered her last year around this time and I've bonded with her so much over this past year. I was originally planning to stop after just one but she ended up being a gateway into collecting and shelling my OCs! She's still currently my only one (and super spoiled), but I hope some friends will be arriving soon! ^^

@sleepinghazard Your Airi is adorable! Love her outfit. Glad to hear you’ve adored your first doll so much. Always nice when a doll just clicks with you. I’ve been tempted to get an Airi for myself, but other doll plans take priority for the time being. Maybe one day...

Speaking of sharing...my Lia’s head got back home from the faceup artist this week.



I wasn’t too sure about her new look at first (she had her default faceup since I got her in 2012 so...), but the more I sit with her all put together, the more I fall in love. She has a much bolder and mature look to her now, so she fits her character’s personality a lot better.

I was reading back posts on the thread and saw mentions of a Christmas and/or winter event. Should I wait to order my Leia? What were those events like? Thanks!

And thanks for the advice on clothing and shoes! My poor Dollits and MiniSupia girls didn't have any clothing and spent far too much time wearing the wrong sizes! I want my next doll to have something waiting on her.

Does anyone here have the Elva Girl Body and the 16 Elva Girl Body (both are 1/3)? I'm interested in the 16 girl body but I'm not sure how well she'll pose, so does anyone have pictures

 

comparison here! I only have the 16 body but her posing is really nice. She needs some sueding or kips or something to hold really finessed poses, but the joints give a really good range. For example, this SUPER OLD photo from Jade's box opening:

Hello! I have a DreamingDoll Misora, and am really tempted to add a Ryuna to my doll family at some point in the future. Ideally I'd like to have her in a tan skintone, though. I did see that there was an event featuring a tan doll previously, so I was wondering if anyone could tell me more about that--was that the first time the company has offered tan resin? What are the odds they'll do it again? Thanks!

 

I plan to buy Chris head from DDoll hybrid with Luts SDF/SDF65 body, however, by reading most of the replies here, I don't see the resin matching would work :'( So, do you have any recommendation?

 

I realize this has been a while, but I do have my DreamingDoll NS head on a Luts NS Kid Delf body, and the color match is close enough to not be an issue. I did not do any blushing to make them match. If you stare closely, you can see that they are a tiny bit different, but it doesn't show up enough to bother me, and it doesn't seem to show much in photos. Pay careful attention to the head measurements, though. They tend to run slightly smaller than other heads in the same scale.

Also, I have FINALLY found a wig that I think will allow me to bring Meara, my DD Leia on the Luts KDF body, the final step into her character. I ordered it last night directly from the Monique Trading website. It will probably get here in early August. Very excited! I hope the color and scale are correct when it arrives. I don't mind doing a littler bit of trimming and styling, but I need it to flow correctly.

 

I'm trying to determine if an Elva girl body would be a good hybrid for my Elfdoll head. The neck sizing appears right, and since Elfdoll normal has a solid chance of matching Fairyland normal which in turn sometimes matches DD...

The question I really have is between "yellow normal" and "normal" what is a better match for Elfdoll (or Fairyland or Spiritdoll if you will)? Since there are two flavors of normal I wasn't sure how to puzzle this one out. I know Spiritdoll normal will match, but then I'd have to mod the neck. It's all a bit nebulous.

 

Does anyone know if the 16Elva girl body has double knee joints or how far they bend? And maybe info on the tan resin color they offer? Was thinking of hybriding DD Noah with some other brand body

I've been taking pictures of my Airi on the Dreaming Doll Little Elva type A body:


I love the Type A body, especially the sculpting, although it leaves me a tad confused. Mobility thigh joints, double-jointed arms... but single-joint knees?

So I figured I'd mosey over to Dreaming Doll's website and see if there's a newer body. And now I'm really confused:


This photo from Dreaming Doll's website is for the newer "Type B" body. It has double-jointed knees, but... where did the abdominal sculpting go?
What happened?? And why?
