DreamingDoll Discussion (Ddollshop) , Part 2

Jul 18, 2013

    1. Mirren, thank you so much for the male/female pic! I was out of the country and didn't see your post til now.... He would make a stunning girl! Hmm....
Here's some old spam for the new thread.
Minnow and Fry...with Fry still awaiting the rest of her face mods.

    2. What lovely pictures! (I assume you mean me, Mirrin!) I am happy to help!

Here's my not terribly old addition!

    3. I have a question for Little Elva owners, what eye size can be used for your doll? I would highly appreciate if the eyes are not showing the white around it

    4. If you don't want visible sclera, bump up the size. Their eyewells aren't that deep so you should be able to fit 16mm eyes in there, probably. If not that, you could opt for doll eyes with coloured sclera. I know Mint on Card offers some.

I wouldn't recommend such a big size otherwise, because it won't look very 'natural.' I like smaller eyes, ones hovering around 12mm.. because it's more realistic. I'm just saying this for posterity's sake...Smaller for realistic, larger for a less realistic look.

Also, it depends on the mold you get. Airis have smaller eye holes.. so it doesn't take 18mms to cover the sclera, I wouldn't think.

    5. Meet Brooke! She's my first BJD!!!~ [IMG]

    6. Ooh, she is gorgeous! Freakyviki. Little Elvas are such great start for beginners. Where did you get that dress? It's highly lovely

    7. I got it from Angell-Studio >< it's really beautiful~

Aheheh, I kinda like her bald more... I don't know if it's just the hair or I really do 0.0
and, I didn't think resin felt like porcelain! And they're actually quite weighty ~

    8. How do you guys manage to put an eyeball to your bjds? I am so scared that if I ever put eyes to my Airi, it will come out bad, cross eyed or the putty might be shown. Any help will be appreciated :)

    9. aheheh, Actually. I asked them to put in the eyes for me cause im scared to put it in >< If you still haven't bought her, you can actually request them to do it for you heheh... They actually do all the requests you have, theyre nice ^^

    10. Oooh, really? I did not know that. I am going to own her as my 3rd bjd. And sorry if I have too much questions about her though

    11. Putting in eyes aren't that hard... You just have to make sure you use the right kind of eye putty with the eyes. If you have glass, like DDolls come with, I'd say use silicone ear plugs. They're super easy to put in and adjust that way. It's just an easier stuff to work with. The only thing about the ear plugs is you can't use them on silicone eyes. Silicone on silicone action causes some melting issues.

I had introduced my Lia a bit ago, in a head switch picture, but here's a better intro for her- Her name is Gwyneth Alice, and she's pictured here with my Nathaniel.

    13. Very cute, FreakyViki. The dress is very adorable on her.

She's lovely, Catalystflours. Lias are too cute. I dig their smiles. You don't see them like that a lot on dolls.

    14. Might as well join celebration for the new thread with some picture spam of my own :D

May there be much Dreaming Doll beauty and adorableness to come! :D

    15. Anyone here owns a Little Elva Bella?

    16. Idaheika, your doll is just so adorable!

Catalysrflours, Lia you got is so cute. I love her smile

    18. Mirrin, I love her outfit! All the different textures and shades...sigh.

    19. she's beautiful~ I love the shade and the dress you got her with

    20. Thank you both. The dress is a slip that came with a Nine9 Style set. I think it is too cute by itself too!
I'm really into fun textures like that!

    21. No problem, I always wanted to see more of your photos of your Airi~

    22. Wow, they're very different, elinate. If you're into the bigger eyes, it's nice. I like my wee eyes on Airi, but they're very well done.

    23. Where can I find someone who can mod eyes like Airi's?

    24. Hehe Thanks Mirrin, well to be honest, I did like Airi's wee eyes a lot. But I guess I wanted to try out something different, so I asked the faceup artist to open those eyes, but overall love their new look, and thanks for the compliment :) Oh yah, you know what, I actually decided to purchase my Airis after watching your Youtube Video regarding the review of the Airi's body! So thank you for introducing to me such wonderful dolls! ^^

    25. Hi aphtaiwan, I got my Airis' faceups by the lovely Nomyens. She's from Thailand, and her faceup skills are amazing! You could find her at http://www.nomyens.com/html/contact.html . She could do almost anything, and would show you the preview of your doll's faceup before sending it to you! Hope it helps ^^

    26. Thank you for the link. Oh my, I think I will ever go for Airi now.

    27. hehe, you are welcome aphtaiwan :) Hope to see your Airi if you ever get one ^^V

    28. Does anyone know if any of those dollmore wigs will fit little elva's heads??? ~~

    29. Hello FreakyViki, little elva heads are quite small so a 6-7 inched size wig helps, dollnore only has 7/8 size for msds

    30. Thank you aphtaiwan for the sweet compliment! ^^ And elinate, the opened eyes Airis are really well customized. :D They look so cute! (even when I do like the "sleepier" versions too)

    31. haha, thanks elinate. Yeah, Airi is a very gorgeous doll but I kinda go for Lia

    32. One of my twins has her eyes opened, too, and I also prefer the sleepy look myself, but Fry needed to be more intense than Minnow. I plan to do further mods on her face--taking those cute puffy cheeks in a bit, making them more hollow.

    33. so, weird question, but i have been having problems with the right shoes for my Airi. i ended up having to add some foaming, even though they are MSD sized shoes. where do you guys get your shoes?

      also, little picture :D[IMG]

    34. elinate, thank you i will check it out!

    35. I just wanna ask something about dreaming doll's quality? Is it considered a good one like it's a little heavier than usuals? or just the average??? :)))

    36. FreakyViki, I would consider Dreaming Doll dolls as bjds of good, solid and consistent quality. Especially resin-wise. :) I dunno about aesthetics and sculpting, since that kind of belongs under individual taste, but the resin itself is really nice, smooth, does not chip easily and ages slowly and beautifully.
For me, the joints and some details in the body could be better, but I still like my DD girl Kelly above the rest in my collection. :D

    37. Hey guys glad to have found Ddolls and I seem to have fallen for Misora! I think she would be a great new sculpt to reshell my character Keiko. I would love to hear any and all opinions on DD. I just saw a body review on YT and it looks amazing! But do they stand well?

    38. elinate,
thanks for the compliments! I didn't do the eye opening...that was rykaan I HIGHLY recommend her. I love her work so much, I'm afraid to wipe that lovely face and mod the cheeks!

TsukiKyou, oh, yes, they stand very well!

    39. Miss Emily, From your picture they do stand wonderfully! How easy is it to find clothes that fit them? Are they like standard msds or fit slim mini things better?

    40. You really need to go with slim mini clothing, as they're slim minis, TsukiKyou. That is, unless you're really shooting for the baggy look.

Here's a picture of Viv from today!

    41. Mirrin, thanks for the advice! Viv looks beautiful.

    42. My Ddoll surprised me with how well she stands. I took photos of her an uneven stonewall, and was able to get her to stand for several photos. she stands beautifully on solid surfaces and in all shoes i have tries so far.

    43. That's wonderful! If all goes well I can sell off my old Keiko so I can get Misora as the new Keiko right away! I love that her company photo gave her a dreamy creative look to her. Does anyone here have a Misora? Misora spam please =D

    44. Kira's new wig finally arrived, and we had so much fun outdoors last week. here is one photo with her little bento box.sorry its so huge.

    45. Oh, Kira is gorgeous! The wig is perfect, especially with that shirt. I love her belly :) She makes me wish I could drive up to KY just so we can have an Airi meet...

I was finally able to take some more photos of my gals--stopped raining for a whole day (gasp!) You'd think it was monsoon season.

    46. They both look so amazing! Great photos <3

    47. My girls got new wigs and eyes! Omg, so excited to show you all how they both look! hehe

Here is a photo of how Minori looks now!

And here is a photo of my cute Miyuki with her hair tied up! ^^

    48. Mirrin-I like Viv's photo! Her braid is very elegant and beautiful. Great job!
Elinate-I like your girl, I can hardly remember if that is an Airi sculpt because of her eyes modified. Anyways, I love how you styled both of their hair.

And a question again pops in! (been a while since I went here :( ). Where do you guys buy Little Elva shoes? As far as I know their feet are quite small in size. But since I wanted to get a Ddoll Airi (or any sculpt from Ddoll). I just want to make sure what shoe brand for bjd you have for her

    49. Hi aphtaiwan, thanks for the lovely comment, and as for the shoes, I've mentioned earlier in the forum, that the slim minis' heels can be bought at this Ebay site. Here's the link to it http://stores.ebay.com/Doll-shoes-ou...=p4634.c0.m322
. Basically, they sell slim msd's heels that are able to fit well with the Dreaming Doll Little Elvas. So you could check it out, the shoes are pretty high quality and reasonably priced :)

    50. if you hunt around and keep the measurements in mind, you can find a few pairs in many places. the ebay store mentioned by elinate is by far the most extensive list of slim shoes that i have seen. i think there was a thread on here about slim MSD shoes, as well. it had owners pictures, the fit, and the seller.

    51. I bought my gals shoes from the same ebay seller...but I looked under the Matt Tonner shoes, 'cause I was looking for hiking boots.

    52. Oh, how I loved Airi so much. Though I find the open eye and sleepy eye Airi both beautiful. I don't know how to choose between those styles

    53. I absolutely love my Little Elva's, I just got El in, He is such a cutie!!!

      Ryan & Riley
      [IMG]

    54. Finally an El! He does look like Misora, I even thought it was her at the first place!! Anywho, I like your dolls Lisa, especially Ryan and Riley. I am in hope of getting a Bella, she really reminds me of Ryuna in that smile and eyes

    55. I have a question again for you, Little Elva owners. Does your dolls come a little loosely strung when they arrive or are they just strung really right? Not loose nor tight?

    56. My little elva was strung tight. she is my first, so i have nothing to compare her to, but i didnt have to consider restringing her. i know people have different preferences in stringing, but i can say it wasn't "loose" and may be considered by some "too tight" but i dont mind at all.

    57. It has been so long since I was in this thread. It's great to see everyone's dolls again! They all look absolutely wonderful!
Elinate - Your girls are gorgeous!
Lisa - El is adorable, and your girls are so pretty! I love their Tinkerbell tops.

I've been busy and haven't been able to mess with my dolls lately, but I took my Lia out for a quick photo-shoot the other day. I think her smile is adorable. I think she was just happy to be able to wear a gown.
