@LaughingAB My Lia wears a 6-7" wig but it's not from Leekeworld. I will try one of my LW wigs on him later to confirm; I'm assuming the 6-6.5" LW will fit him best.
No problem-o! Just checked and my 6-6.5" Leekeworld wig does fit my Lia (snugly). Other sculpts may vary, though. I hope this helps you!
Rune is looking gorgeous as usual - I love how the flowers match his eyes! Also hi, thread! I just ordered my Misora last week - it's only been a few days and I'm already dying over the wait, I'm not sure how I'm going to last a month (or more+) lol.
I finally finished my Mamie's faceup a couple weeks ago. I'll try to upload some pictures when I can get some decent light.
Thank you! Congrats on your incoming Misora! What resin color did you choose? I hope you'll spam photos of her once she arrives. Looking forward to seeing her!
Can't wait to see!! Doing custom faceups looks so fun but super daunting, did it take you long? I went with the "normal" resin, and I'll definitely be spamming plenty of photos! I'm looking forward to making a video of my first unboxing if I can get my webcam working on the day, actually.
Most of the delay was just putting it off because it seemed daunting, but that aside it was still a long process (spaced it out over a couple days) because it was my first time so there was a lot of fiddling and improvisation as I tried to get the hang of the materials (I'm used to working with paints and chalks and pencils, but... not on resin). Here's the result: It'll do, for now at least. Sorry for the sub-par lighting, by the way. Desk lamps aren't the best for photography... My favorite thing about Mamie is how slightly different angles can give her subtly different expressions. She can look serene, cheerful, or intense, depending on lighting and posing. Poor thing still hasn't found her name, though...
@Kittzel She look absolutely gorgeous - I love her expression, it's so peaceful!! dreamingdoll sculpts are so lovely and natural so I think subtle faceups like these really bring out their charm... Hope she finds a name soon, lol.
Thanks! I agree about the sculpts. I don't see many Elva sculpts around, so I'm glad I can show off how pretty she is. And I think she might have found her name: we're testing out Millicka Jade (though she'll go by Jade or Mil).
Hello, all! I only own a DreamingDoll Mae (SD), but recently I've been very drawn to the Little Elva Leia head sculpt. She looks just like a character from a book I loved as a child. I don't want the large bust body DreamingDoll offers, but the smaller bust girl lacks a mid-torso joint. I was wondering if anyone here also owned a Luts Kid Delf girl body (preferably the older type), and might be willing to put their Little Elva girl head on it for a picture comparison. I'm less concerned about resin matching, as I am willing to do some blushing, and the doll would rarely be unclothed. I would be aiming for normal skin on both. I've also added a thread in the photo request section, but this thread seems a little more aware. I'm loving looking at everyone's beautiful tiny ladies and gentlemen here.
I really like that photo in the middle----her nose there looks so cute to me. Unfortunately I can't help you because I don't own a Kid Delf. but hopefully someone else will pop in and be able to share a photo!
Sorry I can't help but I just wanted to comment that I had exactly the same problem while browsing for my Misora! I'm not too fond of how large the bust size is on the DreamingDoll body and was eyeing the Luts Model Delf body with the smaller bust. I ended up just getting the full Misora set because I thought it'd be better not to be too adventurous with my first doll, but I'm still super interested in the Delf body so I'd love to see how it looks if you end up going through with it o/ Really gorgeous! I love how her eyeshadow matches the colour of her outfit, she looks so classy & elegant.
Certainly, Linnet. I'm still looking for someone with both one of these girls and a KDF girl to head swap for me. The reason I'm aiming for that one particularly is because I already have the KDF, but I don't love her head. I love the DreamingDoll head, and you can buy them separately on the site! I really don't want to have to buy the full doll just to get the head in case it doesn't fit.
@EriChanHime, I have Dreaming Doll Lia and KDF centaur multibody with large bust. I can take picture for you but only with half of body without legs. Is it okay for you?
That would be perfect, Teffy! Thank you so much. Half a body would still give me a good idea of neck size fit and proportionality. Very much appreciated.
@EriChanHime, here it is. I'm really sorry for the delay. Neck fit and proportions are pretty good, but color matching isn't perfect. The head is Dreaming Doll Lia made in 2012, the body - LUTS multibody made in 2014. I hope it would be helpful. gibrid2_IMG_2794 by Katteffy, on Flickr gibrid3_IMG_2793 by Katteffy, on Flickr gibrid1_IMG_2802 by Katteffy, on Flickr
Oh, thank you, Teffy! That's exactly what I was hoping for. I'm willing to blush her neck if I have to, as she'll wear clothes all the time, really, so the fit was much more important. THANK YOU! *EDITED TO ADD* I DID IT! I went ahead and ordered the Leia head with a company face-up. Now to plan wig and eyes, although I expect I will need to just cave and make her clothes. Anyone ever read the book "The Seal Child" by Sylvia Peck: Seal Child It's a lovely, bittersweet book, very short to read as an adult, but I've always loved the illustration on the front of Meara. When I saw the Leia head and company paint, that's exactly who she looks like to me. I knew a girl a long long time ago who looked like that painting as well, and I thought she was wonderfully, hauntingly lovely. So, that is the base character/name that I'm going with for my new KDF/DD hybrid. I'm aiming for a semi-Mori aesthetic, lots of baggy soft clothes in muted, soothing, ocean-like colors. SO EXCITED!
Congrats on ordering your Leia! I'm not familiar with The Seal Child, but I think the Leia sculpt looks very close to the girl on the book's cover! Looking forward to photos of your doll once she arrives.
Thank you! The wait is killing me. I haven't ordered anything from a company in a LONG time. Fortunately, looks like their wait times are reasonable. About a month, I'm hoping. I've been shopping for eyes and wigs and stuff, but I'm afraid to buy too much before seeing her, since I've never seen one of the DDolls in person in this scale. The fact that the site says she wears a 6-7 wig is surprising, since my KDF and JID dolls wear 7-8. Do these girls have pretty dainty head measurements?
@ EriChanHime: I have a Misora and she wears 6-7 wigs just fine. I tried a Luts 7-8 wig on her once and it was way too big and just looked wrong. Here she's wearing the wig that came with her, size 6-7, fits her perfectly. IMG_5058 on Flickr
Very pretty! That's good to know. Their wig section was blank when I ordered, which is sad since that's exactly what kind of wig I want, but it dark brown. Your Misora has such a wonderfully serene look.
Makes sense. I suppose that's one of the things that contributes to their more life-like feel--slightly more realistic proportions. It's only been 10 business day since I ordered.... DYING... Edit: Argh. 20 days now. The whole doll is listed at 21 days estimated time, so hopefully this week I'll hear something. Any lovely spam to tide me over? Does anyone else here actually own the Leia sculpt? Second edit: She's at the Post Office! So excited!!! I never got a shipping notice at all, but there was a package slip waiting for me when I got home today. I checked the website and my order had changed to "Shipped" with the same tracking number as the slip. Hooray! I am hoping to pick her up tomorrow, although this particular PO has ridiculously stupid hours, so we'll see...
My Leia head arrived today! Went to the Post Office during my lunch break and picked her up. Totally opened her in my work parking lot. She's lovely. I was a bit surprised to see that the head didn't come with any sort of eyes, even cheap ones, as I was hoping to use them as a baseline shape to choose others. Do your girls do better with rounder or flatter eyes? She was packed super carefully, and she came with a cute little notebook featuring two dolls on the cover, as well as her ID card. I'm very pleased with her face up. It's very close to the picture on the website, and she has wonderfully delicate eyelashes. I admit to being forced to adult this evening, and make dinner and clean the kitchen, so I'll have to wait till tomorrow to try her on different bodies and see which one she'll be getting, as well as see if I have any eyes and wigs in my stash that can work as temps for her. Please meet Meara...well, part of her.
Meara got the perfect dress (it matches the cover of the book she's from: Seal Child) in a swap and while her wig isn't perfect, it's at least the right color. Still looking for a wig around this color of brown or slightly darker with blunt bangs. She's ready for summer. I love her so much! The DD Leia head fits nearly perfectly on the Luts KDF girl body neck with great mobility. There is a small gap around the back but you have to flip her upside down to even see it, so I'm completely happy. The color also matches the older but not too old (maybe two years or so) Luts normal resin. Love!
She's beautiful! I love her straw hat. Looks like she's ready to go on a picnic! I honestly don't know how I missed her arrival, btw. A very belated congrats!!
Hi everybody! I'm new to the forum (first day on DoA woohoo :p) and just wanted to quickly out myself as a total Dreaming Doll fangirl Definitely subscribing to the thread! My favourite Little Elva sculpts include Airi, Ryuna and Lia but to be honest, their girls generally have a super gorgeous asthetic about themselves. So thanks for everybody posting their DDolls and keep em coming!
Hi @Sasha of the Crows and welcome to DOA! I'm a fan of Little Elva sculpts, too---I own a Lia, myself. (That grin slays me every time!) I hope to see you around here and the rest of the forum! If you have any questions or need help navigating, please don't hesitate to ask.
@PeppermintPocky Thank you so much I was just checking out your Lia boy (not in stalking mode, don't worry XD) and he's the cutest little thing! His eyes are mesmerizing :p And yeah, we don't need to talk about the grin.. Lias pull this off so perfectly
I forgot to mention that my Ari came home a few months ago. It's been hit or miss with her as the poor thing got overshadowed by an unexpected chance at a grail. I am now finally trying to play with her. ^_^ So quick question for Ari owners. What kind of eyes do you use to keep them from blacking out in photos? I was thinking of saving up for some Oscar Doll eyes in a light color, possibly 10mm...
Hi guys! Newbie to the MSD size here! I love tinies but fell in love Dreamingdoll Lia I would love to make her an adult version of one of my dolls, Reina. She's a pukifee pongpong who has a permanent expression on her face. Lia has such a lovely smile too, I can see Reina 'growing up' to look like that What sized eyes do you guys use for your Little Elva? Lia especially. I love the wig on the company's pictures as well.
Welcome, Sunrei and Sasha! I don't have a Lia, but I can definitely see her being a slightly more subdued but still cheery version of Pong. I definitely agree that the DDoll aesthetic is interestingly different and generally pleasing. While I wouldn't need to own one of each, I genuinely like looking at all of them. They're a good meeting between realistic and stylized for me.
I can't help you with your question, but congrats on your Ari!! Hi @Sunrei! I own BOTH a DreamingDoll Lia and Pukifee Pong, so if you'd ever like to see a photo of them together, please let me know. I'd be happy to snap a picture for ya so you can see how they compare. As for eyes, I prefer using 12mm in my own Lia. He's a boy, though, and I generally opt for smaller eyes in my boy dolls. 14mm will fit but the irises take up most of the sculpt's eyewell. His head wears a 6-7" wig perfectly.
Definitely agree on the aesthetics part, Lia and Ryuna stood out to me immediately, though some of the other sculpts are captivating in their own way! I love Lia's cheerfulness and Ryuna's slightly foxy look(Its that subtle smirk). Haha, yeah. Reina would learn to tone down/be ladylike in adulthood, but as a child she is hyperactive and imaginative. Here she is with her best friend, Arden the centaur and two of her girl friends Flickr YES, PLEASE! (All caps for enthusiasm!) You have both? Joy! I would love to see a group photo of any other MSD sized dolls with your male Lia, comparism photos are always helpful Thanks for the wig size! I was going to make an adult Arden too! I bought a MSD sized centaur body from another DOA member. I would love to see some Little Elva spam in general, especially with dolls from other companies, like Model delfs from Luts or Minifees from Fairyland(Male or female). I heard that Model delf's heads are small in comparison to other MSD sized dolls, but I hope Lia's head would be compatible?
Picture for you. I also own a MNF, so I can take a photo of them together later this week. If there are any other minis in my profile you'd like to see Little Elva Lia with, please let me know. I'm always happy to help.
Awww, so cute! They look adorable as boys too! Pongs can't help but look excitable Blue is my favourite colour, but I thought that the green default eyes looked good on so I never did switch in the blue eyes I bought for her. Yes, I'd love to see her with a Minifee too! One of my other dolls, an Ante, has a minifee version I don't have plans to get a minifee yet, but I am curious I like the medieval style shirt your Lia is wearing, did you make it yourself?
Thank you! I'll be sure to snap a picture of Rune (my Lia) with my MNF Rheia soon. The medieval outfit he wears was a commission made by AzuriellesGrove on etsy.
Hello again! Here is my Lia boy next to my MNF Rheia. Sorry it's not a full-body shot. I will say that the two are the exact same height and overall look pretty good together (IMO, anyway). I hope this helps you!
Yes, it does thank you! They look compatible in terms of size. Quite the contrast in terms of costume What do they think of each other?
Hello, everyone! I have a little Elva Ryuna myself. And I'm wondering if anyone knows of any place that sells clothes that can fit little Elva bodies? I'm having a hard time finding pants in general. So far I've only been able to get leggings.
I commissioned someone on Etsy to make a dress for her but she's closed until September. I think you could find people who craft for minifees and tell them to add +1cm to their bust and waist. The hips should be the same measurement but I'm not sure. I haven't even ordered my doll yet You could link them her measurements on her profile though.
@Sunrei Do you really think I'd be able to ask for another cm or two from the sellers? I just don't want to make more trouble for them. It'd be super nice if they could; I think I've seen some even say that they're willing to accommodate some buyers if asked.
Well, they don't interact much. Each shelf in my doll cabinet represents a different "story/theme"---my Lia is in my medieval group, while my MNF Rheia is in my retro 1980s crew. I would assume my Lia would be flabbergasted by my Rheia's bodacious behavior and they wouldn't have much to talk about. Especially since my Lia wouldn't even know what a microwave is, hehehe. I second the recommendation for etsy; in my experience, the sellers there are very kind. Doesn't hurt to ask them. Also, once you earn MP access you could also commission custom works there.
Sent you a link, good luck Generally people on Etsy are really nice, if you ask politely you will receive a polite response, whether its a yes or no. Plus, the ones which are marked 'pre-orders' haven't been made yet, the seller is trying to anticipate the number of clothes to make by asking customers to pay up front or in advance before starting. Doesn't hurt to ask right? Remember that most of them want customers and good reviews too! Oh you're organised! I like the word bodacious, it's sassy! My character is going to be in a medieval like setting, but it's not a historically accurate version. It's basically one of those alternative realities where the world has advanced on magic rather than technology.I tend to dress my dolls differently than the setting I write about, mostly because I like the dresses on Etsy and because they inspired the story after I had them for awhile My reasoning is in this world, they exist as dolls lol! I also write AU stories for them as one shots for fun. My dolls are my inspiration
I love the word bodacious. Probably use it more often than I should, lol. That's cool your character is in a medieval-esque setting. I'm a fan of magic, so your idea sounds very cool to me. I tend to dress all my dolls in outfits their canon counterparts would wear, then once I achieve their proper "look" I don't change anything. (I know I'm among a minority in this hobby---most folks love changing clothes, wigs, etc. but it's just not how I go about customizing). And my dolls inspire me, too. They also keep me on my toes.
Yup:3 It's funny how they almost decide their own personalities. It must nice to have dolls who are content in terms of clothes, lol! I gotta ask, because I was just browsing shoes, does Lia come with flat feet and heeled feet or just flat feet? I remember seeing a YouTube video of a girl opening the Dreamingdoll parcel with both, but there are no options on the page
Unfortunately I can't help you there because my Lia is on a boy body. Hopefully someone who owns a girl will pop in and answer your question for ya.
When I got my Ryuna, she came with both feet. I think it even mentions at the bottom of the page, below all the pictures, on whichever doll you choose that they'll come with both flat and heeled feet. Hope this helps!
Ah, thank you, I missed that somehow. I've contacted them and they said she can come with a wig as well
Yes! More beautiful DreamingDolls are joining. There was a Ball Jointed Doll convention in my city last weekend, so I took Meara (Leia/KDF hybrid) to find some stuff. Sadly, still no perfect wig for her, but I did get her new eyes, so she’s moving closer to the illustration she’s based on! They are 12mm Ginarolo glass eyes in Violet. I’m quite pleased with how they look different colors in different lights, and I clearly need to take better photos! Life has been a mess lately, so maybe next week!
Adult Reina is here! She looks so cute with her child self @PeppermintPocky @AdamantSilence The present by Sunrei LaChance, on Flickr Its a delight to photograph them together♡ @EriChanHime Meara's looking good! The seal child sounds like a good read
What an adorable picture! They look amazing together! Congrats on adult!Reina's arrival! I look forward to seeing more of her in the future.
