Dream Valley Waiting Room

I ordered my body yesterday, I was intending to wait a little bit to coordinate with the estimated arrival of the head I'm hybridizing it with (Doll Chateau Snowborn) but I decided it's nbd if I have a headless body floating around for a while.

If Im that bothered by it, he can just live in the box till his head arrives from DC.

(Plust if I do get the body long before the head, that gives me time to clothe him!)

 

I got my order earlier. Tried to do a box opening video but the camera was having none of that. Pictures will have to come later.

 

Added myself to the list. Ordered a Hyaline on the Male b4-04 body and a winged b4-06 body. Going to put a Doll Chateau Bella on the winged body.

Excited to get something in from DV. Their dolls are so lovely.

 

I'm hoping that the Ann my sister ordered back in October will ship next week after seeing a few other October order arrivals (congrats you guys!!) in this thread! We're both rlly excited!

I'm watching my credit card like a hawk because I got the cash to finally finish off my last payment to Alice's Collections for my monsterboy and I am about to SQUEAAAAAL....... >v<

I'm not even sure how to start commishing his clothes! D: I --dread-- trying it myself, especially that four-pronged hat, ohmygooooshness.... But I might at least give it a whirl first. I'll need a sewing machine. Everyone keeps saying that dolls in this size-range are much easier to sew things for, so maybe I'll just give it my own try and see how it comes out. 90% of it is stretchy spandex, even the silver bits. >.>

But yes! OhMAN am I excited! The money's processing now into my card, so once it goes through I'll email Alice for that one final time, and heck, he should ship sometime in March!! >v< (Estimation based on past comments!)

 

So exciting!! I'm waiting on on of the SD boys too, and I also heard that clothes should be easier for this size, but whenever to research and compare his measurements to other sizes, i cant find anything that's a close enough match..guess I'll have to figure out sewing it myself as well! Ohh gosh best of luck with the stretchy material ;v; I bet your mosterboy i going to look fantastic once hes all done! I'm personally looking for either princely outfits or mori stuff for my boy, so we'll see what i can find

I paid both my orders in full in late november/early december and have been impatiently sitting on my hands the entire time... March is so close yet feels sooo far!!

 

I ordered a Ding through DDE on December 3! I'm hoping it comes in soon, but it seems like maybe not for another month

 

Priestly kind of things and very loose hoods would also work for his "normal" (he really doesn't have a normal XD) style, and I see something on Alice's that might actually work. We'll see, cuz these DV boys look pretty tall and skinny in design rather than buffed out like other dolls, and I'm a pretty bad judge of cm difference in comparing. Especially shoes. I hate buying shoes.

I looove princely designed things! Period clothing is some of my favorites to find, but looking for boy stuff, especially in adult and not childlike, is veryyyy very hard.

I ordered Christmas Day and I'm biting my nails since this last payment was made, cuz I dunno how long he'll take. At LEAST another month, maybe a half after that, but man when he gets here I am gonna internally explode. >v<

I can't wait to see your boy too, we should send pics back n forth of them waving to each other. XDDD

Ohh priestly/loose garments not only look good but are also practical for looking good even if its not a perfect fit, that's a good idea! Alice is always a good start and oh!! What about Doll Chateau's clothing line?
they had something kind of in a priest style for their larger boys so I'm wondering if that would fit? Tall lanky boys are my favirite so I was smitten with Elias from the start I hate buying shoes too, thankfully most of my crew doesn't care for them!!

That's my greatest worry with my boy....i can try altering clothes if the style is right but the size is big. It's eaiser to shrink them then make bigger, right?

OOOH I just looked that up. D8 I love the one with the curled toed shoes too!! Holy crap I want those shoes. DX I wanna get one of each of those outfits and splice the heck outta them to make my own thing. They even come off jestery even just being the way they are. XD And yes holy cow, that lanky tall boy thing is my favorite...... I was gonna grab the 53cm body RIGHT before they surprised me around their Christmas event, and I almost died. XD This'll be my first SD, and it's a giant even. XD

Is your Elias boy gonna stay in his fullset as he is and be pretty? I got the spookyboy they should be distant penpal friends. XDD I'll def take shots of Jester once he gets here and I dress him up in the stuff I order for his arrival. I always have eyes, wigs, and a set ready for when my dolls get here as welcome home presents. :3 He won't be naked for a wave shot!

I did a comparison image! I don't know how useful this will be, or whether 1cm makes a difference a lot of the time, and there ARE some sharp "I dun think that's gonna work" elements to this, but maybe with the right snip here n there, it's possible to finagle these? I color coded it for faster checking of things, cuz I get confused glancing between the two lol.

A-body-04-1 -- Athos

 

I ordered a tan resin B4-03 to put a Wol head on back in December and im still waiting on it, hope it comes soon!!

 

I'm hoping I'll hear something about my Ann ordered late October.

They're so pretty right?? I kinda hoped the big one would fit my boy but it's such an expensive outfit to buy on a maybe ;; ;; I never ever thought I'd get an sd but I kinda just fell in love with his sweet face and whoops

For now, yeah! He has no name yet though >_<
So far his character is a serene guardian/prince of a magic forest He's gonna stay in his gorgeous fullset until I can sort out even more pretty clothes for him~ oooh oooh is you boy's name Jester? They can definitely be penpals~ Having stuff ready to use on arrival is a fantastic idea! Shows good planning ahead which is something i don't always do >v>;;;;

Thank you so much for this comparison, it will help a lot of us!! my biggest worry is thatcyhe neck area is too small, and the sleeves might be short maybe? Although if you're considering using different parts and know how to sew/make adjustments it may be doable! I....have no sewing experience so I'm not the best authority XD

 

I'm willing to adjust some stuff. When I had Ciel's outfit come in, they offered to get his direct measurements. I know most places don't do that, but if I like the outfit enough, I'll figure out a way to frankenstein it. I was gonna customize with with bright sky blue accents on the priest's robes anyway, honesty, it wouldn't stay the same as I bought it. >v< Just basics! I can't sew super complicated things or a nice coat or shoes from scratch. D: But I can fanagle fancy stuff!

Oooo forest stuff is my aesthetic, I love things like fairies and elves, especially the spooky old-world ones. XD But fey in general are a fav of mine. Ivy vines and willow trees in particular are my favorite, with like a desaturated tinted pale green. That'd look pretty cute on your sweetface boy. ;c;

Ye his name's Jester, at least as a nickname. I call him that mostly, but his actual name is Authello (Aulo). He's a fey demon. XD So... I guess in the same ballpark, just the Unseelie Court, as opposed to ya boy who would most likely be in Seelie. (Good fey.) They'd make some fun pics, too bad we prolly don't live close. XD That'd be a fun as heck shoot. Their opposites remind me a lot of Hades and Persephone which I loooove-uh.

 

Oh you're super brave!! And lucky too, I love shops that ask for measurements, it ensures a fit and is great customer service

Blue accents on black would look really nice, i keep imagining diamond shapes or maybe fancy swirls? Sewing is a great skill to practice, even if its just embellishments!

I have to agree with you there! Something about the calming earthy tones really calls out to me, and my boy is in WS so he's gonna be super pale >>;; I'd love an ivy vine partern on something for him, maybe like a cloak or shirt? Because of how tall and elegant their bodies are I kind of want clothes that show off his shape!

Authello is such a great name choice, sounds ancient and imposing but not too terrifying!! I'd be so down for opposites pics hahah!! I'm on the east coast and with all my luck most everyone else with dolls are farther away A fey demon and a fey prince.....I can see the potential for a high fantasy adventure style shoot or my weakness: serious characters in fancy clothes in ridiculous poses

Also I've really been able to settle more on some character traits after hearing about your boy so I must thank you ;v; .....still need a name, though. Elias is a beautiful choice but I will keep looking!

 

He's more of a checker-style jester, but also works really really well with diamonds. 8D Aside from that, silver filigrees and moons and stars (the four-pointed one on his outfit, mostly) would also look really elegant/jestery on him at the same time on a priest's robe. Man I can't wait to be able to snag one. Gotta save up a bit. >v<

Oh I meant like fake ivy vines! Like drape one across his shoulders or wrapped around his arms with some earthy toned fantasy clothing. It'd be really LOTR, but it would also be gorgeous regardless. XD And YES OMG YES I love their thin, elegant forms, that's the first thing that glued me to Dream Valley! Usually I love sculpts over bodies, but mmmhmmm. They're like chiseled Greek statues.

Oh thank you! I was aiming for that when I named him, but also for it to fit his face.... XD Names are complicated for me. I only JUST named him. I had this char in his earliest form when I was 2 years old, and he only just a few months ago got a name that suited him. DX I'm awful at it, I just called him Jester til then.

XD I'm glad I inspired the dark vs light in you. 8D If I think of any interesting smooth earthy elf combos for names, I'll maybe toss some for you! /Cries I was wrong I misread which of my AC orders was shipping it's not my boy. I feel dumb as had hopes up, and am back to waiting. However I did email asking if they might have an idea how much longer I have to wait.

AC wrote me back they said dream valley said my doll should be done in a week or so, so at least soon.

 

Oh that's cool they gave you an ETA! She told me in my email after my layaway was done that the average time is 3 months, n they start production the moment the first payments go through, which mine was Christmas Day. So hopefully by the end of this month, he'll slip into shipping, at least that's what I'm basing time from. .D

Woo my boy is shipping for real today!

 

My Body and two little beans have finally shipped! I ordered in October and have been biting my nails every since then. I mailed Alice about a month ago and they told me that tan takes an extra 30-40 days. So yesterday they sent me an email saying they had them and were shipping them through a faster shipping company that's estimated to arrive within 8 days.

I got my babies in on Wednesday! There was some slight bad news with the body. He came in stained and a little damaged.I haven't contacted Alice's Collections yet, but will be doing that here in just a bit. Once I get some photos uploaded I will share them here. The staining did come off with a magic eraser thankfully. (it was caused by the black foam they are packed in. warning for any one ordering white dolls.)
But despite that I love my little beans and the body fit my Hid head perfectly.

It is why I have 4 dolls on layaway for myself and I just bought a head from the mp also with plans to buy bodies for that head and a floating head I have in the near future. Oh and I guess another head that we bought that needs a body too... orz I got myself in deep.
