Looks like you and I have similar ideas on what to do with that 3-armed body, mine is also going to be a many-eyed demon with the heel feet and a black backarm (but a different head). I love your design for him! Was the gradient also done by dyeing or was that pastel blushing? It looks really good.

Can't wait to see how other people's Blesses will turn out, my backarm body sadly won't be here for a while longer.

Sorry for double posting, but Alice’s Collections just sent me a shipping notice and I think it’s for my Scar. Wow, three Dream Valley deliveries in the same month!

I say I “think” because I only ordered him in September, and this seems really fast compared to the wait for my yosd Bless. There was a free Coco, some clothes, a wig, and eyes in that same order too, so I’m hoping they’re shipping everything including Scar! We’ll just have to see what’s in the package when it hopefully gets delivered on Friday~

 

I ordered too in September... maybe in the next days I'll get an email from Alice too... maybe I'm not deluding myself...

He's beautiful! I've never owned anything larger than an MSD before so he's huuuuuuge!
But my gosh is he strung tight! I'm going to dye him, so I was going to unstring him anyway, but I can't even get his head on or his hands/feet off so I can dress him properly. Either way, very excited about this unexpected arrival!

 

Oooh the first of the Scars congratulations, now I am all excited even if mine might be a while more. I ordered grey skin, and with face up and outfits so assume mine will take his sweet time, but excited to see kitties are on the move.
Good luck on fixing his stringing.

 

If I saw the person who strings Dream Valley dolls on the street, I think I would hide behind a dumpster or something until they pass. That person has arms of steel. I bet they have never lost an arm-wrestling match. I imagine they look something like Jason Momoa in Aquaman.

 

I feel like there has to be a trick to it, like a tool or machine that does most the work for them. Cuz it seems to me no human could string dolls that tight and not have arms jacked so big it would put the hulk to shame.

This reminds me I need to take time and restring Scorpius (my Sundial) sooner then later. He is strung so tight I honestly fear trying to get his head back off, and take him apart come Spring when I go to mod and dye him.

 

*peeks in* Hello! I seem to have gotten caught up these last few months and forgot to post in here while I waited for my coffee skin Calle.

I ordered her on September 12, 2021 through Clover Singing. I got an email 2 days ago that she arrived to them and is ready to ship. So all in all, the wait was about 5 months and 2 weeks. I wasn't anticipating any shipping notice in February since it's usually a busy time of year with catch up from Chinese new year.

I'll post pics in here if anyone would like to see them. I have a few darker resin dolls I plan to do a resin comparison with.

 

I just put in an order of a blank Rubin and a blank Sylves dragon. I guess I'll get them in the autumn then. Should I post on the Waitlist? There isn't a feb22 yet

My sibling just ordered the Fullset Dragon Sylves. Made the mistake of sending them a photo and it was love at first sight hahaha. Going to hang around to see how other Sylves go since they don't have a DoA, and maybe throw some photos here once it arrives!

Welp, I did it. I ordered a full set Abyss. DV doesn't offer human legs, but I did ask Alice's Collections to tell them to please please please consider making more dolls with the mermaid torso, because I love it.

Finally have a shipping notice for my BJ divas June 9 order dragons Collier, Izzy, Bor and human Rin.. super excited

 

Juuust put in the order for Aiden through DDE! He will be my first little resin friend! I'm unbelievably stoked!! Let's see if I survive the wait...

 

Got my tracking number! At least, I think it is. Alice told me that I would have one on Monday/Tuesday but this morning I got a message on my phone by FedEx, so I think it should be it
And the best part is that the delivery is set for seven days from today
I don't really think in the slightest it's going to be that fast...

 

OMG. The dealer forgot to send me the tracking number, and the package was delivered to the shopping agent's warehouse on 1/27. If I did not ask the dealer last week for the update, my doll will be destroy after the two months storage time in the warehouse. I am so mad at this dealer. By the way, I was surprised by the production time of Dream Valley, it was shorter than what I had expected.

 

I have a huge box waiting for me on the table in the other room.
She arrived about ten minutes ago. Four days from China to Europe. I know I should wait the weekend to open it, I know, I know...

 

Starting to get frustrated. I purchased my first set of Dream Valley heel feet back in June of 2021. Just emailed BJDivas - they still aren't in.
I ordered a second set of heel feet from Alice's Collections in January of this year, but I told them to hold onto the feet and ship them with other stuff I've ordered (to save on shipping). I am beginning to suspect I'm going to get my heel feet from ACBJD before I get the heel feet from Divaz.

 

My Calle arrived today and I must say I'm really disappointed. I ordered her in the limited coffee skin (which cost a pretty penny extra), and this is what she looks like. Even accounting for monitor differences, this is drastically different between monitor and reality. It looks like their normal tan to me, but I don't have any of their tan resin to compare against. What do you guys think?

Hmmm. I ordered a body in Coffee and it looks darker than that to me. Lighter and warmer than the promo image in retrospect, but definitely darker and more opaque than another doll I have that I assume is similar to Dream Valley's tan (Serenade doll).

Well part of one of my Dream Valley orders came into the dealer. The Leo outfit and event pet Coco I ordered with my Scar have come in, even though my Scar is still not done. Hopefully this means my kitty will be on his way sooner then later as Dream Valley sent stuff to dealer already. As is having Coco and outfit sent to me now as a Spring bunny is a lovely idea, and the outfit was for another doll anyway. X3

 

@Celestila that color looks just like my regular tan Zhao, definitely not the color shown on the head cap picture. I was concerned when I ordered Zhao that the new tan would still be the translucent orange color. Thankfully it’s a nice tan this time. Don’t think I’m going to risk it in future orders though.

 

Well I heard back just now. Dream Valley is saying she is indeed coffee and sent this pic.

I don't know if they're playing me or if their reference pics have issues with lighting and/or color editing. I feel mislead and don't think I'd buy another DV doll that's not a typical white/pink/normal resin or recommend others to if they're after a certain look.

I'm just not bonding with this girl at all. I may attempt a dye job to the proper color or maybe pass her on to another home.

 

@Celestila - that's such a disappointment. I'm sorry. I agree with you - what you received does not look like what is pictured.

 

@Celestila Sorry this happened to you and that DV's reply was less then helpful. I hope you are able to darken your girl's tan to a deeper shade. Staring at the photos it looks like a case of them not using the right lighting for their color ref photos, which really sucks and is misleading. All the colors look much darker in the reference photos by a few shades. Hell I own DV dolls in normal pink, normal yellow, and white skin from them and all are very pale colors, and a touch lighter then those refs. Also their white isn't a pure/paper white it's creamy, but that photo makes it look lighter/pure.

 

My June dragon order finally arrived on March 17! Everyone arrived safely. Having some real issues trying to get Collier's ponytail clip to stay on though. If anyone has any suggestions?

I finally got an update on Gloria. She’s currently in the makeup stage so HOPEFULLY it won’t me much longer. Anyone have an idea of how long the makeup stage normally takes? I know weather can cause delays so any kind of ball park to give me an idea of how much longer. XD

 

I was holding off on giving my thoughts since I was waiting on an order myself, but honestly? Though my initial thought would say that's not coffee, the doll I received is barely darker than my chocolate one, despite the way the swatches look.

Chocolate left, coffee right. They're slightly more distinct in person, but the main difference is really that coffee has a much redder undertone than chocolate; it's not even much more opaque.

Outside of direct sunlight, the coffee does look a bit darker, but I have no idea what lighting they did to get the deep brown of their samples. The undertone of your Calle does seem to match my coffee headcap, so I guess it is accurate, but I definitely was expecting something darker as well.

Maybe some batches came out differently than others and ours were in the same one? That's all I can think.

 

Thanks for the commiseration everyone. Fingers crossed ya'll get your dolls quickly and as expected.

@asuu I was hoping someone else who ordered a coffee doll would post to see if it was just me. It's unfortunate to see your doll is the same. This is purely conjecture since I'm ignorant about the casting process, but I'm wondering if coffee was just leftover/reject dye from the chocolate dye? Hence the limited time availability/"may not return" disclaimer?

It's a bummer for sure. I'm glad I didn't add a coffee Rach to my order now, or I'd be stuck with 2 dolls I'm not keen on.

 

My Chaos who is coffee/pink shipped last week and should get here on Tuesday. Now I’m curious to see how his color turns out. I’ll try to post pics here when he arrives.

 

My grey Coco and Leo outfit came on Sat, hopefully my Scar will be finished and get to the dealer soon I want my kitty. I'm so in love with my bunny though it's too cute.

 

Seeing the post from @Celestila has me worried. I have a Calle in "Purple Skin" coming next month and now I wonder which purple it's going to be. She looked dark in the photos, so i hope she doesn't look different than I expected.

Dyed him immediately of course lol. He still needs a face-up. He's going to be Autumn-themed~

And yeah, that coffee color is for sure not the color DV advertises. It's still a very pretty color nonetheless and contrasts nicely with his pink resin human parts.

 

Congrats Slight, he looks fantastic! I'm getting really curious about the coffee color though... my body honestly looks really different from everyone else's coffee resin photos. I'm not sure what's so different. I ordered from Christina/Cloversinging if that helps for science.

I took this photo under my daylight painting lamps and adjusted it to be as close to real life on my bright phone screen as possible. For comparison I have Rosenlied WS, Dream Valley White (Coco), Resinsoul NS, Fairyland NS, Dream Valley Yellow, Fairyland Tan, Iplehouse Light Brown, and the Dream Valley Coffee. It's closest to the Iplehouse which is the darkest color I have currently. Does this look like a different color from what the rest of you got?

I'll be able to add another data point once my doll arrives. I ordered a Chaos with coffee skin through Christina and got the tracking number a couple weeks ago. She used Yanwen as the shipping method and I have no prior experience with them, so I'm not sure what the ETA will be.

 

I don't have a photo to share although she's been home for a while now, but I've ordered a coffee skin Calle through Christina as well and the resin definitely looks more like the photos Glace Leau shared!

 

It might be a batching issues thing, where some batches of the resin come out a darker or lighter shade. Some companies have a lot of trouble getting tan resin or even grey to be close to the same between batches. Or a combo of uneven tone between batches plus bad lighting/editing of the ref photos.

 

My coffee doll was bought in-stock via DDE, so it may be that the US dealers received a different batch of dolls compared to domestic? I definitely was expecting a color much closer to your photos, though at least it doesn't hurt my plans— if anything, there's a second body I would have order if I knew it'd turn out this color But I also do my preorders through Christina, so I suppose it wouldn't have...

The strangeness to me is that I don't recall hearing about this level of variation with the chocolate resin, and light tan seems to also be fairly consistent from what I've seen thus far. I thought the post-orange tan era would be safer, haha.

 

Yeah, I ordered my coffee Chaos through BJDivas, and he’s pretty warm/orange-toned and not as dark as Glace’s sample or DV’s image, so there might be some truth to US dealers getting a different batch of resin.

No matter what, I’m still super stoked about my wolf centaur dude, haha.

 

Wow! I wish mine was closer to Glace Leau's photo. Now that there are more photos coming in, it really is looking like inconsistencies between batches. I've been in this hobby since 2010ish and while I've heard of difficulties with darker resin colors, this is the first time I've seen it firsthand

 

I'll grab some photos in natural light tomorrow, but with no color editing this is the coffee I got under yellowish indoor lighting. I think it has a redder undertone than the little promo swatch with the black background, but looks relatively close to the sample in the reference image with all DV's resin colors.

Sigh. And just as my list of dolls I’m waiting for shortened to one doll, I’m back in the waiting room. I swear, my wallet is afraid every time DV does a new release. I was super tempted by those cute candle dolls, but ended up ordering just a male Cheer with a plant arm in purple resin instead (my Bless needs a friend). Always wanted a purple DV doll to join my hoarde of other purple-resined dolls.

 

I’m still waiting for two dolls. Gloria and Lami. They are now the only dolls I’m waiting for. I keep trying to distract myself to make the time pass by quickly, I’ve never had to wait so long for dolls and the exciting for getting them has disappeared. I’m worried that when I do get them I won’t love them as much since I’m so frustrated. I know some have waited a long time for dolls as well or even longer, but has anyone waited a year+ for a doll then didn’t love it when you did finally get it?

 

Check out the Dollshe waiting room. After 2+ years, some people are so angry that when they finally receive their order, they can't separate their anger at Dollshe from the doll. They're putting the dolls straight onto MP.

My girl came in last night! I ordered her through DDE last September. So that would put me just under 8 months of waiting.
She is a lot lighter than advertised but I was kind of expecting that
I feel like most bjd companies edit their tans to be darker* sadly so I tend to look up a lot of resin photos.
*(Maybe they do it by accident by editing up the contrast on advertising photos?)

 

I was eyeing those but being in the UK my Bor was so expensive to ship to me. -.- I can’t wait to see what you do with your moon. What colour did you go for?

 

Just couldn’t resist a little feather-kitty lol. I went for yellow resin, because that’s a resin color from Dream Valley I didn’t have yet. Dunno what I’m going to do with him just yet, and I’m running low on dyes at the moment lol.
