Me too! I just discovered that they're up at BJDivas! It looks like only the blank heads, limited bodies, and outfits so far, but the outfit listings show everything.

 

I shows the event details too, cary or gary is gift. Also at first glace i thought i i liked grayson better, but look at cayes' blank pics. His scowling eyebrows are wonderful! Im still getting my monster girls this time but human cayes will probably join them sometime down the line

 

Grayson (I think) reminds me of Vine... a LOT. Similar smirk lol. Human version is like brothers.

I love that there's human versions too!

ARGHHHH this is gonna cost me so much but I love that dang body and I love fantasy sculpts. *sob* DAMN YOU DV!

Okay maths done, I can do it. But what colour?

I intended to get a Vine one the monster arm body in tan because I love tan. But what colour to get dragon boy? I dunno if the peachy tones would be as effective but white is a pain to blush I find. Hmmm...
I suppose I could get him in tan too but that's an extra £60.
I mean I guess that's not much in the grand scheme of things, especially not if I do it as a layaway for a few months.

What do you guys think? Are you gonna get a dragon boy? If so, what colour and what are your plans?

I could also get white and dye it but that's a little intimidating. Still, could look super cool to do one in like purple or red or black or something right?

I WAS saving up for September events but I suppose I can put the Impldoll order of madness on hold for a year. Might be sensible. I've sort of accumulated dolls a bit too fast and think I need to slow down anyway.
So maybe i'll focus on the Dream Valley order which is time sensitive, and the head that's being released in Sep I want. If I budget for those two things then I should be AOK... I think.

Wigs might be a challenge. I find wigs awkward with horned dolls. Any suggestions there?



Also so uh.. this happened.

I was playing with colours and I decided I already have so many blue toned dolls, so many cool toned ones. A bit of crimson is a change of pace right?

Now of course, whether I work up the courage to actually DYE HIM once he arrives we'll see..
but I think he could look potentially really cool in dark red.

With like darker tips for contrast and near black wings.

Question then becomes, what colour wig?

I'm still trying to decide which of the new dragon boys I want. Both the smirky face and the serious one are both pretty, and I like both the red and blue designs. I do like them in the white resin, though, so that's easy enough to decide. Those horns and wings are to die for!

 

I'm thinking maybe a dark blue wig so it stands out from the black wings... nghhh hard to find though.

And yeah, I have a real weakness for fantasy sculpts lol, but they're so often waaaaay outta my price range

 

@purple_monkfish I'm in the same boat with you; plenty of dolls at home that I haven't properly worked on, but I may not be able to pass up snagging one of these guys. The red would look really cool and unique I think! If I get one, he'll be staying white. I really look forward to seeing how everyone styles theirs.

If anyone is willing to sell their carey freebie i’d totally buy it though. I don't know why, but i dont like Xion enough to shell out more money just to get carey.

 

I don't think I have any use for the little dragons tbh. I was gonna get Gary because I think he's cuter but if someone would like to buy the dragon I can probably figure that out. But i'm UK based which means outside EU isn't so viable.

Thing is, the dragons are cute sure, but I just don't DO small animal dolls really. Not unless they have a creepy element hah. I wish they'd rerelease Peanut, Peanut was awesomely creepy.

Right now i'm impatiently waiting for Angelesque to update with the event so I can order. Hah, COME OOOOON

This is pretty much me with all the freebies. I like them, just not necessarily enough to buy a doll for them.

 

Hi guys. Can anyone please tell me if DV ordinary normal resin match well with Luts normal real skin? I would like to put my floating head on the boy body, but I don't know which colour of resin to chose. Did someone try to make a hybrid like that before?

 

Hey! I’m new to the community and just trying to learn more about DV. I really like all their fantasy sculpts. I was going to get Glen till I realized I missed the order date by a week. Hopefully, I’ll be able to adopt him. DV’s current event is tempting. The little dragons are so cute, but I don’t know if I want to shell out all that money for Adela and Gary or for Cayes (even though his sculpt is really interesting).

 

I'm interested in the Elvish sculpt. Does anyone have any pics of him they could share? Thank you!

Does anyone have both a Dream Valley doll in WS and a SoulDoll doll in the old WS? I'd like to hybrid my SoulDoll Liddel (old WS) with a Dream Valley 1/4 body but I'm not too sure about the two resins matching. What do you think?

Hey guys! Was curious about the current wait time? This’ll be month six so was wondering if it’s likely to ship this month or not c:

 

It was my understanding that the current wait is 6+ months. UK dealer was just getting jan/feb orders in this month so yeah...

 

Ugh! If that's indeed the case, then I won't be seeing the body I ordered until January at the earliest since I placed my order in July.

 

Yep, i'm in the same boat. I'm estimating Jan/feb. Which is painful but I just have to forget I ordered so I don't pine and fret over it.

 

@purple_monkfish Well, considering I've been waiting for 15 months for my Dollshe boy only to find out that they cast the wrong size of doll (my original order was a 44cm and I asked to upgrade to the new 55cm AND paid immediately for that upgrade), 6 months isn't too horrible. I have other doll stuff to occupy myself but I can't wait to see this boy put together.

I am ever so slightly annoyed that I missed seeing one of these 3-arm bodies in person at DollNorth this year. Someone had one and stopped by my friend's table in the Doll Market and I missed seeing it by like hour.

I admit, i'm finding the 6 month wait hard. I keep like psyching myself out of being excited and it gives me way too much time to question the purchase. I don't like it.

I'm waiting on a dragon boy and a boy with the three armed body, plus one of the small dragons I qualified for.
nghhh.

I hope I still love them when they finally get here.

Next time I think i'm gonna either buy secondhand or pick a company with a shorter wait time lol. Long waits are bad for me, too much time for regret.

 

Yeah, I was pretty steamed about that with Dollshe. They asked if I wanted the smaller doll and offered to refund me the extra I'd paid for the larger version, but I want/need the larger size. So I wait *sigh*. At this point I'm just hoping I don't make it into the 2-year Dollshe Club.

I think my longest wait (Dollshe aside because everybody knows you WILL wait this side of forever) was almost 9 months for my DZ boy. They had a huge backlog at the time. I think my fastest brand new from the company doll was my Iple Creaa-J boy. I got him in like 3 or 4 weeks from the time I ordered to him arriving at my door and I ordered him with a face-up, too. Very close second would be my RS tinies. I ordered a Pixiu in red with face-up and full body blushing when he was first released and it was during an Xmas event and I think he arrived 6 weeks later. I also ordered 2 Bao's, one in dark grey and one in white, both with face-ups and I think I got them about 5 weeks later.

The MP is soooo dangerous to me. I try to tip-toe past it and not make eye contact but I somehow find myself in there with a worrying amount of frequency.

 

I'm always in the marketplace, just window shopping lol.

My big problem is that companies with long wait times (like DV) just produce such NICE things that I desire immediately nghhhh.

I mean this time around I was waiting for impldoll's event in september unless there was a great event from one of the other companies on my wishlist first. And Dream Valley burst in all "hey, so how about THIS msd dragon boy huh?" and I was all "NOooooooo take my money"

I'm a little intimidated though. This is the most i've ever spent on a bjd before AND I had plans to dye him red or something. But of course there's so much that can go wrong with that plan and i'm stressing myself about it. Nghhhh

 

I feel for you on the spending front. It can certainly be intimidating to spend a large amount on a doll and then to contemplate some sort of mod on him/her... nervous business.

 

It does sound nerve wracking, but from what you were talking about before, it sounds like it's going to be a gorgeous mod! I'll definitely look forward to seeing how it comes out in a few months!

The wait time almost makes me glad that I went in for the long layaway for my Grayson, by the time I finish paying, he'll be ready to be sent out, haha.

For those that have a Ann, Ian, or Purple: Aside from the adventure that is stringing, posing, and dressing around their tails- How are the DV yosd bodies as posers overall? Do they hold poses well? Are the peanuts in the elbows/knees decently engineered? Can they hug their knees or is that round hip joint not really equipped for it?

I love the aesthetics of the body so I'd love to hear about it more.

 

I haven't seen it posted- do any of the models come with high heel feet? I'm prepping for my Mia, and I've heard these dolls can be tricky to find shoes for. Would it be worth finding a matching resin to get new feet? The Dream Valley sculpts are so detailed and cute that I might be inclined to keep her in low shoes though

 

I’m getting a vine doll with the third arm body, I was wondering if anyone has tried dressing the male in feminine clothes (dresses, skirts etc) Also how do you work around the third arm. This is first bjd I’ve ever had so i’m Super excited

I had a question about making a Vine hybrid doll and was directed here, so I’m hoping this is the proper place to post.

I really like the Vine doll (his expression is great), but I feel like his body’s proportions are going to be a little hard to find clothes for. Because of that I’d like to put his head on a new body, but since I’m new to the hobby I don’t have much basis for rebodying dolls. Has anyone found any bodies that match the neck/head attachment proportions and color (I’m going to go with a “normal” skin tone) of Vine?

as for wig color, a complementary pastel color could look really neat, or you could go with classic black with the red skin!

 

Aww thanks. I was considering maybe a white wig, keep it simple. Or a lovely midnight blue.

That is entirely up to the dye. It's such an inexact science. I'm just hoping I can get it smoother this time. Last doll i dyed ended up REALLY splotchy on her face but she was secondhand so may have had residue I didn't manage to scrub. But it was a bummer. I managed to blush her to cover the issues but it took a lot more work than i'd wanted.

i've heard that if you sand the entire body with really fine sandpaper (or even a nail buff) it helps the dye take more evenly

 

I like the idea of a midnight blue wig or a really deep/dark purple wig for a red doll.

Dolls with horns/ginormous ears spit in the eye of non-custom wigs. I had to mod a wig for my RS Jun as he has huge ears and they interfere with the edge of standard wigs. I also had to snip tiny holes in the wig for my DC Clemans so his horns could go through the wig otherwise he wouldn't be able to wear a wig period.

Like how pink is the normal pink skin? And if I choose pink, which BJD company have the same skin tone for jointed hands?

I made my first payment on Dec 18. But on Dec 25, I received email from Christina about DV discount promotion and other companies as well. So, I quickly emailed her back to see if I can get the promotion despite placed order a week earlier. And DV said I can! OMG I save a lot!

i'm waffling hardcore. i want Bethel and i want this other limited time DZ boy too, but i don't think i can do both and be able to spend enough to get the event doll, and there's 20% off floating around... that seems like a waste of an opportunity, so it's a lil frustrating.

i really like the extra texture on his arms and hands, and i noticed today on the blank body page it's on his legs and feet too!

Hi all! Finally got new wigs and clothes for my girls, Sophia and Iao! Sophia is on the left and she's a Hyaline, and Iao is on the right and she's a Thorn! Also if anyone is looking to get a Thorn, she's got a fat head. Her head is a centimeter bigger than Hyaline/Silence so keep that in mind! Her head was supposed to be on the small side for the wig she has on but I still struggled getting it on her.

 

@shruggoths they are soooooo cute!!!! where did you get their clothes/shoes? :0 are those the company faceups? they're gorgeous!

 

@chatdemon all clothes are from Alice's except the shoes which are part of the fullset, and yes they're both the company faceup! I ordered shoes for them too but they haven't shipped yet, we'll see if they fit... Shopping for Sophie is so hard though on account of the arm. I know I could get something I wanted just for her and cut a hole in the back, but at the same time I feel bad doing that to clothes that are more expensive than mine sometimes.

 

@shruggoths thanks!! my mia sculpt is ordered, currently waiting in DV limbo and nesting for her arrival lmao. i've heard that most minifee/msd clothes fit the 3 arm girls fine, they just have narrower shoulders and a smaller bust. did you just search msd sized stuff, or did you have to like, actually pay attention to measurements?
