Dream Valley Mini Discussion Thread

I'd like to second the request made a little while back for photos of other heads on naked bodies. Specifically 43cm size. I have a winged elf character I would really love to make, using the B4 06 body. But Dream Valley doesn't seem to have any 43cm heads with elf ears so I'm looking at hybrid possibilities Thanks in advance to anyone who can help!

 

I have Cloris and the head has elf ears!

 

I think their new Rosa has elf ears, too.

 

Speaking of the new Rosa... I'm in love! Anyone ordered her yet? I'm thinking of spending my bonus on her... but I won't get my bonus until March! Ack!

 

I took my doll apart so I can paint her better. I need to start thinking about a head for her. Anyone have any suggestions or wanna help me search, pm me!

How tall are these dolls?

 

Hyaline and Silence are about 17" tall.

 

My girls finally all dyed, painted, and put together! Heres Enna, she’s a modded Minifee Nanuri 2018 head on the B4-03 body. God I’m so in love with this body!! I was a little scared about this hybrid since it looked like the minifee neck was a good bit bigger than DVs and that the head of course is way larger as well and while those both definitely ended up being somewhat true I think she turned out looking pretty good. Restringing her was a nightmare tho lol

@bella8y aw man, that's such a gorgeous hybrid! i've been wondering how a larger head would look on this body and even though i could find blank photos i had a hard time visualizing how it would look with a wig... i'm a big fan now that i've seen it. the dyework looks real good too!

I got an email saying that my order has come in! Waiting to see how much left I have to pay to see if I can bring them home yet. So close but so far!

 

I don't know if anyone still wants to see naked body pics, but this is Clorise with her wings. I was so disappointed her wings weren't painted and am afraid to try and take them off to paint them myself.

 

Does anyone happen to have Dream Valley white and Doll Chateau/Dollzone white? Are they a close resin match?

 

I can answer that next month when I pay off mine but hopefully someone else can answer you sooner!

 

@LuckyXIII Thanks! I'm not a big hurry, just trying to come up with some body options for all the heads I have.

 

My Doll Chateau guy is a couple years old and may have mellowed, but I can say that my new DollZone and the Dream Valley white are a super close match. I did a head swap on my Vine and Benjamin and it's hard to tell the difference, at least in indoor lighting.

My dc lance head in old white does match nicely the dv msd girl body in white skin, dc/ds new white is more cream.

I still need to pay off my foxes! There is something I may buy this weekend but if I don't then I'm paying them off since they're ready to ship. just in time to start a new layaway, lol.

Does anyone happen have (or have seen) a Dream Valley and Doll in Mind resin match or hybrid?
I was thinking pink skin for DV might be the closest to DiM's normal, but I'm not sure...

(I don't know if I'm allowed to post questions here, but I couldn't get my answer anywhere)

I've noticed that some 1/4 Dream Valley dolls have third arms (Mia, Silence etc.)
While I do find them very attractive and aesthetic in some ways,
I just don't understand how you dress them up.

Can they only wear the clothing included in the fullset?
Does the third arm come off? (Is it magnetic?)

 

I have the body with the third arm but the my character doesn’t wear clothes so I can’t tell you about that aspect with much certainty lol. The arm is strung on the same string the body’s strung on though (and btw, is an absolute horror to restring lmao)! I think what I’ve seen most people do is put them in shirts that are lowcut, or the one time I dressed up my girl I had her in a dress with buttons in the back and just stuck the arm between the buttons/ don’t button it all the way up.

 

Has anyone gotten their girl or boy body to wear heels with the flat feet? I ask because in Thorn's original promo pictures she's wearing heels with her outfit, but as far as I can see the 1/4th body doesn't come with heel feet.

 

Does anyone know if the Dream Valley female MSD body is a good fit a Unoa hybrid? Thank you in advance for your reply

 

I can't get up enough courage to take Clorise's wings off to paint them - she is perfectly strung and such a great poser.

Would anyone happen to have the Elvish sculpt? The stats on him says he takes 16mm eyes. Is this actually the case or would 14mm be more appropriate? I'm not 100% sold on him as I'm still working out the character he'd shell but I'm leaning VERY heavily towards him partially because that 3rd arm body is so interesting and unique and I'm hopelessly drawn to the unusual/unique. That little smirky smile kills me, too, and I really like the shape of his eyes.

 

Anything stretchy with a lowish/wideish neckline works well. The only thing that totally won't work is a hoodie.

 

Aaaaaaaa..... i saw their little wolves for the easter sale. I really wanted to get the little canines but i was not about to shell out for dolls i dont want just to get them. I hope that they sell them individually at some point.

 

Vine's hands are literally the most lovely hands ever! Not sure if I'll ever find ones I love more

 

He looks amazing! Is the third arm easy to move and hold poses?

 

I've restrung mine so that the third arm has its own elastic loop and can be removed from the body whenever I want, so I can no longer vouch for the company default posing (tho, IIRC Dream Valley strings them rather tightly, and the third arm could hold poses well enough back then).



The third arm is definitely heavier than the normal arms, and mine can no longer hold a complete horizontal outstretched pose. The easiest I could have them in is a reaching pose coming from above the shoulder, like these:



I'd say the third arm can definitely benefit from sueding to perform better. Wiring might not be doable as the interior cavity is tight enough just for the elastic alone to fit.

I have a question... Ive been looking at the pictures the 3 armed dolls and it looks like seren and hyaline the special arm has a right hand and silence and elvish have a left hand. Can anyone who owns them tell me if thats correct? Are there both left and right versions of those wonderful monster hands?

 

Oh my I never noticed that before but I think you might be right! The girl body the thumb is on the opposite side.

man, if they would sell those monster arms alone you could mod something pretty dang cool with them.

When they first released them I was all "I want one with two monster arms man!" lol. I hope they do that at some point, it'd be cool.

Hmmm I actually hadn't paid attention to that. In company photos Seren has the right-handed monster arm, but the one I received is left-handed (same as Elvish). Upon closer inspection, the monster arm's shoulder joint and bicep both have "L" markings. The hole on the torso's back looks like it can accommodate either arm, though. Maybe people can specify which monster arm they'd like to receive?

Guess I got lucky because I do prefer the left-handed monster arm.

IMO it doesn't look too bad, the shoulder still has its full range of motion. It can work if you ever manage to get a matching pair of the monster arms ^_^

The hand reaches a bit past the knees, I'd say. Not much different from when it's attached to the back. Like this (old picture):

I love it. I mean I was thinking them doing like two holes in the back and having four arms but maaan, elongated monster arms are pretty dang cool and horrifying.

Oh thats wonderful! Thank you for showing it in the regular shoulder socket, thats what i was hoping. Maybe ill ask them to know for sure. I really like hyaline and silence as twins any way but really want opposing monster arms

 

I also had not noticed that. I'll need to take my Vine out and see which arm he got.

@purple_monkfish I was thinking of doing something similar, and back when my Vine was on order I asked through BJDivas if Dream Valley would sell the monster arm separately, and DV said no.

 

I wanted to let you all know, I sent Alices Collection my question about the 3rd hand, and Dream valley confirmed there is a right or left option for the monster arm. And that if you have a preference just make the request when you order.

So I will probably be ordering one of each in the near future...

Any guesses when they're next event might be? Alot of places are having summer events lately. I am ready to order but their event dolls are always really cute, so I'd be really bummed if i just barely missed out because i was impatient

 

Problem I have with the dv event, much like the events for DC and similar is that the amount you need to spend for the event doll is often so far beyond what I was intending to purchase lol. Fine if you collect sds but if you're into msd that's like 2 dolls or even 3 to meet the requirement man!

I did the maths on this recently and decided a DV event unless it's a money off one isn't really that viable for me.

But I do look forward to seeing their next lot of limited dolls, they're always really interesting.

 

Can anyone tell me if the boy feet really are 6cm by 1.5cm like alice collections lists? And if so do you find normal msd shoes fit ok? I am trying to look into shoes while I wait.

 

Well im planning to get 2 girls with the monster arm, so like 600$, so i should qualify if i wait for an event

 

5.8cm heel-toe and 2cm at the widest part (1cm width at the heel). My old MSD boy shoes (fits LUTS Kid Delf feet) are pretty loose on him and needs thick socks to be comfortably snug. I was actually considering if girl shoes might be a better fit but I haven't been able to get one to try it with.

Yay two monsters! Sadly I can't quite stretch to that right now.

September is set to be insanely expensive (so much stuff coming out plus so many events) so i'm probably gonna be broke till new year hahahaha.

 

They posted some teaser pis to Instagram, but I have a feeling it's for SD size. Still, they might have a cute event doll to do along with them. I wish they'd rerelease Peanut.

they claimed on instagram to someone they were msd but yeah, my feeling was sd because of their proportions. I kinda.. hope they're sd because then I won't need them... <_< if they're msd I will be in PAIN. Pain in the wallet!
