40–49cm Dolls Dream Valley Ehecatl - A Very Long Mini

Jun 6, 2025

    1. Well, this has certainly taken me a while to post! DV Ehecatl arrived just about a month ago, on May 13th. I took a bunch of pictures of his box opening so I could share him with everyone!

Since my lighting was very yellow, I've used GIMP's auto white balance for most of these, since it brought the colors to decently accurate because his white is such a pure white it could easily tell what needed adjusted. It didn't work for the photos focusing on his wings, though, since those photos didn't have enough white for it to align with; I've edited those myself to the best of my abilities, but they're less accurate.

Such a beautiful and gigantic box. My precioussss....

Opening it was like opening a delightful puzzle! Some of these photos will be out of order because I want to take his parts in order, and I sometimes opened separate pieces of the same thing at different times, what with all the wrapping preventing me from seeing which part was where. He was packaged super well!

I started with his headdress. I've tweaked the light and shadow on pictures of the main piece and the wings, so you can see the texture better.
      [IMG] [IMG]

And here it is assembled! There's magnets inside the head piece to hold on the wings.

After I unwrapped his headpiece (the main part, at least), I went for a larger wrapped bit: his wings!
(I did decently well with the color edit, but it's a bit bright and too blue. The first is more accurate.) They shipped it with the wings turned around backwards so the feathers could lie in a way less likely to break.
      [IMG] [IMG]

If you're wondering how it attaches to the doll, I checked. It's strung through from one wing to the other, and the center stretches just enough to get it on the doll. Boy was I paranoid about breaking it when I did so for photos, though! (This edit isn't blue enough. Proper color photos upcoming!)

Next I turned my attention to the biggest piece in the package - the doll himself! But since there's a photo limit per post, you're gonna have to keep scrolling if you want to see more than just a mummy. ;)

    2. I was so thrilled I picked the head I did when I unwrapped him! His open-mouth head is just the right balance of matching the snake body, but not too dramatic for my preferences. (How did I end up liking neutral-faced dolls mostly? Heck if I know.) The sculpting on his hands is also utterly perfect!
      [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

He sat decently well when I coiled his tail and let him rest some of his weight on the box's padding! Look at that stunning tail color! It's a really rich teal-toned green, almost blue enough I wouldn't blame anyone for just calling it teal.

After looking at that slightly awkward tail end, I dug out the tail feathers. (These were wrapped with the wings from the headdress, so that's the bit I took out of order.) It was the one casualty of travel, which is honestly impressive with how thin all the feathers are. I contacted DDE (through whom I ordered) and they've put in a request for a replacement tail piece. In the meantime, I'm sure I'll end up fixing this one! The missing feather was loose in the bottom of the box when I went looking. (This was also a me-edited photo, and while not color-inacurate, shows off more of the mold release that's left over on the resin than the auto-edited ones do.)

I put the tail feathers and headdress on him to get a look at the full ensemble! The headdress does not like to stay up without a wig, haha.

"But wait!" you're probably thinking if you've been paying attention thus far. "Sof, you unwrapped wings!" Why, yes, yes I did. I also almost forgot to take pictures of them on him; I had him almost put back when I realized there was a set of wings sitting next to me. :doh So I had to pull him out again and get the actual final photos.

And there he is! Thanks so much for checking him out!

    3. Ugh, he's so gorgeous! I wanted an Ehecatl when they released but I didn't have the money or the space for one. I could maaaaybe have budgeted for a layaway, but it's a lot harder to fudge the numbers on physical space! I hope you post lots more photos of your handsome fellow so I can live vicariously through you. :3nodding:

    4. Grats on getting him! I love mine, and it was such a hard choice on which one I wanted.

    5. I love his design but he was a bit big to sit in my collection and it wouldn’t be fair to keep him locked in his box all the time.

Congrats and the snake body colour is so pretty!

    6. He is absolutely regal :love

    7. I adore this sculpt so much, even if he's much, much too big for me. The moment I saw him I thought he was the most gorgeous sculpt DV had ever released, and his face reminds me of Kusuriuri, moreso than Dolk's recent release. I think, if I were ever to venture into that size (aka clear out enough space to keep one), this would be the one doll to make the cut. Congratulations on your amazing new friend, I hope the Alan Army welcomes him!

And yes, his hands are exquisite :drool The kind of claw nails I aspire to have in reality and such delicate but detailed veining... just beautiful.

    8. Yes, he's all very nicely sculpted, isn't he? Do you know what you're planning to do with him yet? Congrats!
