Oh wow, thank you so much for finding that image, it's so helpful! The head are starting to look a touch large but i'm sure once the bulk of clothing is adding it'll visually balance out a bit more. It's good to know that this hybrid combination would work

 

Wow, all these pumpkin babies are so cute for the fall! (And always, lol, but it's thematic at the moment).

I'm kinda in an impatient mental state at the moment regarding the eventual arrival of my Izzy and Aiden, so I've been browsing for clothes and accessories (and oh god, wigs, I forgot about those, lol). I remember someone mentioning that the fox boys might be able to fit fashion doll clothes, does anyone know what they might fit?

 

My little plant dino and my Vivi's (DV Rin) backarm body have arrived and I'm so happy with them I love that 30cm girl body so much, the sculpting is just gorgeous, and I'm so glad I decided to impulse buy that Rin on Ebay a few months back, she fits the character so much better than the Cerise I got for her first.

For some reason even though I ordered them together, Clover-Singing shipped them separately, two days apart, and they arrived two days apart as well (kudos to DHL!). Interesting how with both the venus flytrap heads, the tongue looks to be what the s-hook attaches to and is hidden with. Blushing them is going to be an adventure, but I'm looking forward to it, although I'm kinda afraid to take them apart^^;;. I'm also wondering how it will work with the inside of Tea's mouth since his eyes + eye putty are clearly visible inside there and will cover up/interfere with the blushing. Now all I need is to find Vivi a pair of Doll Chateau rose heel feet/shoes and she'll be complete as far as the resin parts are concerned^^.

 

@ShuriTigerH - they are so wonderful i love all the 3 armed DV's and the flytraps are so neat - that's really fun about their tongue holding everything together about Tea - i wonder if you could make little covers that the eye putty could grip, and blush those the same as the inside of the mouth? i really love his snaggletoothed mouth... that's a great angle you have him in the photo he's so expressive, and she's so dainty, which makes the 3rd arm so much more fun to me - like ---surprise---- don't underestimate her

 

Call me crazy, but I saw that DDE has some Zhao in stock, so I just bought one! In a moment of panic I decided to get one and know it’s mine as I’m still waiting on one from divas. I’m tired of waiting and who knows when the first one will arrive. I feel sooooo relieved. I know, I know, now I have two. I’ll deal with that later, but now I’m so excited again!

 

I recently adopted someone else's Dream Valley Calle, and she's my first smaller-than-conventional-yoSD-tiny! I'm trying to figure out what clothes to fit on her, but i'm so lost! Does anyone know if blythe or pullip clothes would generally work? Or any other options for me to look at?

 

If I didn't still have a Scar on layaway, I'd be tempted too. Different color twins and mixing around parts would be so cool!

 

@Cap'n yes, I was very tempted by the black resin Zhao, but decided to ‘play it safe’ and went with tan. If my budget allowed, I’d get one in each color!

 

A friend of mine got her black Zhao in. She got the fully blushed option and faceup. He's blushed with brown and gold! Kind of a neat contrast actually.

 

My Zhao from DDE arrived today! I love the light tan, it’s not orange like the old tan, lol. The blushing is very nice too. It was a very busy day, so no time for a proper box opening. I will take pictures and get Zhao (still searching for a name) put together. His clothes haven’t arrived yet and aI need to figure out a wig.

 

My Zhao arrived! I've been watching his shipping like a hawk since I got the tracking number and he managed to get delivered just as I was getting off work - thankfully my apartment complex has a spot for them to leave larger boxes. I've got a zillion pictures but don't have time to get a box opening thread put together yet. But I've got one little problem - the magnet in the tail piece that lets him have two tails is the wrong direction! The other one is fine and I was able to switch a tail to it but now I've gotta go through the daunting task of getting the magnet out AND flipped around

I'm still getting my Zhao's box opening put together but it finally gave me the kick I needed to upload the pictures I took of Izumo's shorts - managed to make her a pair that went around her tail and they stay up. They need some work though - something in my measurements was so off that they needed a zillion darts to eventually stay up. She needs a better shirt, stole this one from some old stuff I got for a Dearmine doll years ago now.

Has anybody in this thread had any resin problems with Dream Valley?

I've kept mine - a Glenn - in a box almost the entire time (in fact a box within another box), but I got him out last night to check on him for a resin match and his extra hands are... gross? They've yellowed extremely compared to the body (and I've never even used the spare hands), and they look significantly waxier. It looks like they're having some kind of chemical reaction/breakdown, to be honest.

The rest of the doll is fine, looks pretty much like the same pink matte resin since the day I got it, but those spare hands... something weird has happened to those. Presumably they're a different resin batch for whatever reason, and possibly a bad one.

Anyone else had that or anything similar?

 

I played parts swap so my Zhao, Monji, now has the blushing of a Xi. He'll get a faceup sometime this year......eventually.

Omg, I haven't had that issue but that sounds terrible! How long have the hands been boxed up? I only have white resin by DV right now and I haven't noticed any discoloration.

 

@Cap'n About six or seven months! I'd expect some yellowing as a natural process, so I don't mind that as such, it's just the hands have become a very different colour and look to the rest of the body. I'm genuinely pretty taken aback. I've had the odd doll yellow extra fast before, but I've never seen one become... waxier/shinier/greasier-looking with zero handling or time outside of the box.

 

@nattherat I've not noticed any problems but I also only have white resin (assuming yours is the pink resin). I wonder if maybe the resin wasn't mixed enough in that batch? Might be worth trying to talk to DV about it as it doesn't sound normal.

 

I have spare hands+feet+bow for my Julie (NS) and they all look pretty much identical to her body after sitting in her box for months, no changes or discoloration at all. I’d second contacting DV about it to see what they say, though I don’t know how much they’ll actually end up doing…

 

Had a new arrival today! Going to try and take some time this weekend to blush and paint them! Still not sure what to do about clothing yet, this is only my second YoSD size doll, and my first is wearing minifee clothes that are oversized on them. Any favorite shops for YoSD sized dolls from Dream Valley? I think they're about the same size as the fox boys.

 

I got my Bless head today! I ordered him with a Glen I fullset back in July but he shipped separately and I was told Glen would take another month.

I got Bless with a faceup but completely forgot he had a forehead tattoo. It's not very obvious in promo pics because his wig covers his forehead but it is listed in the description on Alice's Collections page for him. I'm pretty sure I saw that when he first released, but when I actually got around to ordering him from New Clover Singing I forgot about it and didn't ask if they could do the faceup without it. The wig I'm planning on using for him will cover most of his forehead anyway so it's not really a big deal but I did try to spot remove it only to find it stained I was worried it might since the tattoo was completely black.

I also found some sanding marks that were kind of hidden by the black paint. I don't have the proper materials and equipment to attempt sanding so I think I'll just try to come up with some other design to make as a forehead tattoo for him to cover it up. If anyone has any suggestions, I'd love to hear them! I'll be using his head with the fox body!

My Samander arrived today. He's getting a different head (DZ Little Carter-1 head), I'm hoping to somehow be able to string a Zhao cat tail on him (or stick a magnet in that stringing hole) and he'll be getting some body mods and a pair of the 1/6 demon heel feet and then he'll be the demon version of one of my DZ Carter-1 twins. The other twin will be getting the B6-12 body with backarm A, mods and heel feet. I will be keeping Samander's head though, I'm intending to mod his expression into something a little less "derpy". B6-12 body, B6-13 body and two pairs of heel feet I ordered a few days ago, so the second twin is going to take a while^^;;.

I finished customizing my little mischievous dragon. They fit really well into Barbie clothes, although the velcro has to be left partially open for wings and tails, of course. This is Taro (like the milk tea).

 

Holy Heck guys! I actually managed to paint up my Gru and it wasn't a complete disaster Given how bad i've always been with a brush I guess the years of practise has started to pay off

The plan to use coloured gel for the eyes and put a balloon light inside works quite well but I did have to line the head with black foam so the light doesn't shine through everywhere. That was a bit fiddly but worth it in the end Still got to think up clothes but at least these guys look fine without clothes too.

 

@Epicari They look amazing, very unique and the painting looks really clean! I really like the stark black&white color scheme with the blue eyes, and then that cute little blush^^.

Just finished customizing my new tiny DV dolls, Ghost a DV Bless who arrived on February 15th, and his sister Hollow who's on a B6-13 body (DV accidentally sent me the female body instead of male, but I'm happy with her anyway).

 

@slight I love your dolls so much, they look amazing. Creepy, cute and halloweeny, right up my alley^^. Nice to see both those bodies side by side too, I own a 30cm (dragon) body and a 27cm (human) one, but I didn't quite realize just how much thinner that 30cm body is. Also now I know how that nekomata tail looks next to the 30cm body, gives me an idea on how it will look on my future demon boy, thanks^^.

Just for fun, I actually put the nekomata tail on Bless's back magnet in place of his back-arm, and I think it looked really cool. Kinda gave me Tokyo Ghoul vibes lol. Looking forward to seeing your demon boy!

Thank you so much! I'm honestly relieved that the doll turned out so well as wasn't sure if I had the skill to do it. It's always nice when you succeed at something I have to admit the hands are my favourite part of the doll, they're so tiny but expressive

 

My big DV order shipped to my friends place (we did a huge group order) and in it I have an Abu incoming along with my Scar and extra Scar head. I'm excited for Abu because he's going to be adorable with my (off topic) bjd tigers. Haven't really planned what sort of lion he will be, but I got him in white for possible dying options or he could be a white lion after all.

Also DDE has a couple Abu in stock if anyone is interested.

 

Oh wow, they both turned out so good! I love the black to white gradient on Ghost and I hadn't thought about combining a pumpkin head with an anthro body so it's fun to see that combination

 

I want to start body blushing my Bor, but I have no idea where to start. I’m a bit scared to take him apart because of how many pieces he has and how tiny the hooks are. Not to mention I can’t decide on a color for him. -3-
Anyone have any advice or experience with Bor or similar sized dolls? He’s so adorable but he needs a little color to make him pop a bit more.

 

Honestly, I rarely take dolls apart to blush them, unless they are super huge. A tiny thing like Bor could be blushed in one piece, just take the head off and spread out all the limbs so you get the most even coverage of sealant. Also take out the eyes from the head before you seal it (I know, I'm captain obvious). I am curious to see what direction you will go with him!

 

I had a friend who just gave me the same advice. I don’t have any MSC and for faceups in the past I have used a sponge on Winsor and Newton matte varnish. I’m curious to see how it turns out since the resin feel of DV seems a bit different from other companies. While I was at the hobby store today I found some really nice green/blue glitter that could work as scales for him so I might try that as well when I’ve looked up some more information.

I managed to completely miss the sheeptaurs they had in December somehow, I just discovered them in stock on Denver Doll the other day and I bought a Pany for my birthday cuz I loved his face.

The original plan was to dye him black and make him look like a Valais sheep, but when I got him in the mail Tuesday the light tan looked so nice that I'm gonna keep him that color and make him a pretty tan sheep instead.
I think I do still wanna flock parts of him like I was originally planning though, he'll be my fuzzy boi.

 

The sheeptaurs are so cute. And a Valais sheep would be adorable! But panys tan face is very sweet!

Just came over from the mini disscusion. But I was wondering if anyone knows if there's a size comparison photo/image between the B6-07/b6-08 and an 42-45cm msd?

DV Julie is so cute with the giant ears! And I love her face. but I haven't seen many pictures of her out side of the company ones. Is she just not that popular?

I'm also a little concerned with how delicate her wrists look.


I hope this is the right forum. I'm so confused as to what size she falls under.

 

I’m still waiting for my Lami to reach me. T^T She shipped from Alice collections on the 16th of May and hasn’t moved since the 19th. I really want to see her sweet face in person! How frustrating. :/

Size wise, it looks like B6-7/8 are both ‘standard’ yosd though they are a bit slimmer than other companies. So next to MSD they would be more kid like in size comparison. I’m also still waiting on a DV Gloria who is MSD so if I can get both side by side I can take a photo but the wait for this company has been so tough for me.

I do have a Bor with me and at first I was worried about breaking him but I’ve given him a good tug around when blushing him and their resin is quite sturdy. Not saying accidents couldn’t happen but it seems like they are well engineered.

 

it's definitely the wait that's the hardest part lol.

I ordered a mature MSD in February, It'd be nice if DV Julie could go with her, the faces are different but I think I could make it work. they are both pretty slim. most YOSD's I found were either too small or too young.

I'm doing a large non-BJD-related purchase pretty soon, so Julie might have to wait a bit anyways. but pictures are always appreciated!

 

Because Dream Valley is more slim in yosd size, I think they would look much better in comparison to MSD. I have a 5stardoll Tong Tong that has the 'chubbier' body and she is definitely more kidish.

Dear DV lovers who purchased within the last year or two, could you please share how long the production time was? I ordered a 51cm body in the beginning of February and it hasn't been produced yet.

 

Congrats on your Sherra order! I was super tempted by her little owl feet, but settled on just ordering her wings.

From my experience, DV orders take at minimum five months to produce. Closer to 7 months seems to be the average in my case. I have also had orders take as long as over nine months.

 

@PhDolls I ordered a full-set dragon ver. Silina in June 2021 and she was shipped in Dec. 2021, so about half a year. Pet dragons took about 1 month longer to be produced.

Re Sherra's feet - that's what got me convinced to get her In Slavic mythology there's a creature that has bird's body and female face, so when I saw Sherra I couldn't miss her, she looks so unique!

 

My fullset Lami took about 6 months for production, though she’s stuck in shipping at the moment. I also have a fullset Gloria that is ‘still in production’ but I ordered her through a smaller dealer, I ordered her back in May 2021. Lami was from Alice Collection so I think if I want any more DV dolls I’ll order through them again.

 

Denver Dolls can take a bit longer to ship, too, since they usually wait until they have a bunch of orders to submit to the companies. Although maybe that won't be the issue since it's a limited edition.

Following the waiting room, Alice Collection is very consistent. It just stinks that shipping is still having problems because of covid. The wait is the worst part for sure but they’ll get here eventually…..I hope. XD

I can’t get over the cuteness. She took 5 months for production from AC and she took a few weeks to get to me. Alice collection gets dolls so quickly.

 

Just popping in to ask if anyone has the "Cat Bodies" B6-13 or B6-14. I just ordered one to go with an Baichuan Lan head (fingers crossed that the color will not be too horribly off!).

I'd love to hear opinions about the body if anyone has one!

 

I don’t have the body but I have the head and that was my exact idea. I have a DV Lami, I was thinking about testing the head on her body but I haven’t looked at dimensions yet so not sure if they have the same neck thickness. The cat bodies seem a bit thinner than the standard yosd dolls. I would absolutely love to see pictures though!

 

@Tonboko @LikablePlatypus I have a Lan head and a DV cat body on the way too, looks like it was the obvious combinationI got the body in white though, that's probably a bit too white for the Lan head, but I'll figure that out. The body (plus a B6-12 demon arm body) is in transit to me right now, the Lan head was supposed to be here already but got returned to Clover-Singing due to a supposed address error. I haven't heard anything about it having arrived back at Clover's, it's gonna take a while and a bunch more money to finally get to me though, so no pics for a while yet. Also I'm having to undergo extensive medical treatment soon so there's no telling when I'll be up for taking pictures, but I'm looking forward to seeing yours!

I was thinking about going for their natural skin tone since white would definitely be too white and the lan head seems more natural tone than the white they said it was coming in. XD I though about dying but I wouldn’t know where to start. Fingers crossed they go well together. I’m out of dolly funds at the moment so might be a next year project.
