Dream Valley BJD Tiny Dolls

Feb 6, 2018

    1. Very cool faceup! I'm still trying to figure out what kind of faceup I want for mine. Yours is inspiring!

    2. @Solesa
I would say the colors aren’t so true because I took them at various times of day, with different lighting, with my phone :sweat I’ll have to get pictures with my camera instead of my phone. I’ll post soon, but the resin is a beautiful tan with a nice hint of translucence. I was pleasantly surprised with Dream Valley’s tan.

    3. @WaterGleam that would be awesome if you could do that! No rush, I'll just keep my eyes open for when you get around to it. :)

    4. Having Mr_Sunstrider post their Purple with a faceup got my butt in gear just in time to catch what might be the last of the face up weather before fall sets in. I gave both Izumo (my purple) and Youko (my Loxy) a face up today! I couldn't get to blushing their ears but I'm still really happy. All my light was gone by the time I was finished so these aren't great pictures but I'm too excited to wait until tomorrow.

    5. Oh yea, that's definitely a new cutie! I like that the body we first saw with Purple is clearly going to get used for other limited heads!

    6. This company makes so many cute sculpts! It's like everything I wish Doll Chateau would be. I can't wait to see what they release next.

    7. The new dolls are exciting. I really want Ann but with the boy's fullest.

    8. I am so tempted to get that Ann! I heard they're retiring both after December, though.
And I really really want Foxy and/or Loxy!

    9. They also retired Purple, at least temporarily, after the Spring event he released in but he's back for this one according to their event explanations. We could potentially see Ann come back if you miss her this round just judging by that. Its also the second round of Loxy and Foxy, so I'm not even counting those out for another potential special event release or some very similar ones down the line.

    10. Hello to all you folks on this thread! I just ordered a Dream Valley Ann full set on layaway and I'm soooooo excited :D I've never had a mini doll before, or a girl! My three darlings are all boys over 60cm, so I'm really excited to see how I feel about the smaller size in comparison!

I kind of wish it was possible to order her with the male full set, since I prefer the color blue lol. But I can't wait either way!

Suuuuper wish I could have afforded to add more to the order so I could get Foxy or Loxy though :whee:

    11. I don't know if anyone here ordered directly. A bulk of us went through Angelesque or Clover Singing and BJDivas recently also became a dealer for Dream Valley and Legend Doll also seems to host them and participate in events, if slightly differently. If anyone did order directly, hopefully they'll get back to you.

    12. Fabric Friends Dolls USA is a dealer for Dream Valley Doll.

    13. I'm trying to figure out clover singngs and it says there are 3 Available at $99.99 does this mean I don't have to order anything else ECShop_mobile
I try ordering but it says delivery address must not be empty I fill the forms out as much as it lets me if anyone can DM and help would be much appreciated

EDIT: I finally ordered but it says I haven't payed even though money came out of my PayPal

    14. I was originally going to go through Clover Singing myself, they have a unique set up when it comes to the event dolls. So yea, judging by the explanation I got when I was talking with owner myself, that's exactly right. As for not having it marked as paid yet, that could just be the time difference between Clover Singing and you. The money is out of Paypal, but they may need to update your account at the site themselves.

    15. Strange questions for all the Purple owners in the thread - are the ears attached by magnets? How strong are they? (Do you worry about your doll's ears falling off, or do they stick pretty well?)

Also, can the doll wear normal pants, or would they have to be modified for the tail?

(I doubt I can scrounge up the money in time to get one, but I'm still insanely curious about this adorable sculpt!) ^_^

    16. They are attached by magnets. I find them pretty sufficient when my Izumo is wigless, but when she's got her wig on, they're pretty weak over all. I have had one slip off a couple times, thankfully over carpet. I do worry about it, but I also haven't made the effort yet to fix it. They've only really had issues if I'm moving the doll about, so when I walk her back to my room, not when she's standing somewhere for periods of time. As long as the place they sit is steady, I don't think they'll just fall off at random. But if you've got a lot of hard flooring or take your Purple out, maybe removing the ears for travel would be safer.

I haven't made pants myself yet, but having ordered the clothing Purple was shown wearing, I'm going to go with needing to be modified. I've certainly been planning that since I got Izumo home and in her clothes.

    17. Thank you so much for taking the time to satisfy my curiosity! <3 I have a doll with magnetic antlers, and while they stay on okay while he's sitting, if I move him around much they tend to get dislocated or fall off, so I completely understand what you're saying.

And that makes sense - the site didn't show any pictures of the clothing sets from the back, so I wasn't sure if there was some sort of accommodation for the tail or not. I was guessing there would be but wasn't sure.

Even if I never own one, I'm really looking forward to see what you and the others in this thread do with your amazing dolls!

    18. I have a couple anthro dolls with ears myself, and they don't have the same wig and magnet issues I feel Izumo has so I'm learning with it. But I'm glad the explanation makes sense to you! I don't think I ever thought to take a decent picture of the back of her pants when I first put them on....nope, I checked, I didn't. I really should, though I don't feel like unstringing her belts again! But it would be helpful for everyone to see something on how some kind of pants work with that tail. Hopefully I'll have some time to do that soonish.

    19. Don't bother on my account - belts look cool but sound like a nightmare! xD;; I'm sure there are pictures online somewhere, or perhaps someone will post in the thread when the new fullsets come in! ^_^

    20. I think I can at least give everyone a good idea without having to undo all her belts. The loops are just a little tight or it wouldn't be a problem at all XD It'll be a few months before we see either of our new dolls with these lovable tails, so I'll look for something to help people out in the meantime anyways.

Edit: I got the pictures and I put them in an album with some other reference pictures I've taken. I figured no one needed to get notifications about butt pictures so I'm just going to link the album. Reference Photos

    21. Did anyone here get their summer event dolls? :) I was dying to get them, even sent them an email to ask if they could maybe open up orders for just Hawthorne and Plum, but they said no. :(

    22. I got my Loxy a little while ago, I won it in the photo contest here ^^
To my surprise he came painted and at first I was like meeeeh cause I like customising my own dolls, but it's grown on me!
He is such a cutie and fun to pose.

    23. We've certainly talked about them in the thread and someone was looking to know when it was possible they'd show up on the mp that didn't get told they wouldn't be so I've been assuming they are. I haven't posted a photo of my own Loxy yet, but had certainly planned to so if it takes a while to find out you won't be alone :XD:

The painting on loxy looks amazing by the way. Congrats on getting him in the photo contest!

    24. I did end up ordering Ann with Ian's fullset as well as a blank Ding, Foxy, and Loxy. (I also ordered a fullset Vine... which I really should have done when Peanut was available, because I cry inside every time I see one. I regret not getting him.)

I'm contemplating doing the face up myself for Ding. But I might be better off if I send him to an artist. I could just try both ways.
Has anyone seen pictures of owner face ups?

    25. @WaterGleam ordered a blank Ding but I dunno if they've gotten the head faceupped.

Better late than never! Here is the picture I've forgotten about. I figured I should post it now before things get really busy! I would say this tan is true to how it looks in person. I did, however, body blush and did the faceup myself.

I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday! :kitty1

    27. It looks awesome. Thank you for sharing

    28. Oh man. Just saw their new anthro dragon dolls and I am madly in love. Good bye money...I’ll miss you

      • x 2
    29. You said dragons and I had to go look. I'm only very narrowly safe from pining this round! They're freaking adorable!

    30. The dragons are freaking adorable! I must admit though, I'm disappointed that the little dragons are gifts and not available for sale separately.

    31. I had originally went onto Alice's Collections looking for some eyes and pants for my msd boy, but found Dream Valley's Christmas event and immediately fell in love with the little dragons as well....:D so, I went ahead and ordered a fullset Adela and a Gary with makeup!! I can't wait for them to arrive :dance

    32. Yup I’m on that wagon too. Just ordered Adela and Gary. It was love at first sight.

    33. I just ordered a Ding through dde! I've been wanting a Nappy Choo, but they seem almost impossible to find, and Ding is so cute and a lot less cartoonish.

    34. I have a boy Sultan Basic coming from Alice collection. Wonder if anyone else has ordered him. Dose anyone know what clothes and shoes for?

    35. I got a Purple today, that I purchased of a friend. -^3^-
      So adorable.

I originally was contemplating getting a purple (cause of her adorable smirk), but decided to go for this one instead.
Kinda forgot it was blushed and had my own plans, but it's way too pretty.

      [IMG]Foxes by Wildcard_Snowy, auf Flickr

Quickly threw something together. The wig is a keeper, but I'm really having issues with the ears (they keep easily fall off, adding a magnet makes the ears hold, but drop downwards). As for clothes.... I thought he and my other fox that is about the same size could share, but Purple is slimmer, so it has to wait for it's own set and has to make do with the shirt for now XD

It's great to see all the other foxes -^3^-
      Very lovely!

    36. I got a little Ding in the mail today and have to say he is SOOOO dang cute!! Anyone have Grug to share? I don't think I've ever seen any owner pics of him.

    37. I think you're the first person to have any spare magnets to put under the ears and mention it! I wonder if theres any way to combat them dragging downward with them because you're right, they are very weak once a wig is on. I have that problem with Izumo. Your darling is adorable and I love his wig! The makeshift clothes look really nice too!
It looks like Ding has been the popular one. Congrats on him, I love your photo.

    38. @JinCIncy I wasn't even really aware DV had these baby-type of dolls. They are kinda cute, but a tthe same time I am glad I have no use for one XD Not more unplanned temptations to add to my wishlist on that area. Dream Valley certainly makes it hard to resist opportunities thought XD

@HeavensChaos I have several magnets to spare actually XD I got them partly for former cosplay projects and now for some dollprojects or when I had to exchange some magnest, because they came with were... uh... no good.
I don't really want to exchange them in this case, as the magnets are on the outer side of the head and not on the inside. I would use additional magnets to strenghten the force if they were inside, by popping them on the outside of the headcap, put the wig on top and than add whatever was to go on top.

I'm not sure why I didn't do it the same this time actually, but tried it on the outside of the wig. I should have known better from other experiments, but likely was too tired to thing straight.
So what I did today, was pop an additional magnet on top of the in-the-head-magnet and then put the wig on top and then let the ears snap to their correct place. The pull is stronger, they hold better now, but they still easily fall off when nuged in a way that's more than lightly brushing over them. Better, but not the way I want them.
I intend to get stronger magnets, cause the one's I have right now in the better size are some spares that were actually meant for easier removal, when pulled the right way.

That said, you CAN add more friction if you want to add a magnet to the outside as well (which I'm also considering trying when I got more time), by applying the magnet to the ear and then happily and thickly applying hot glue around it and wait for it to cool. Then cut away the excess-glue and pop it on. The glue should work like silicon discs and give addiotnal friction so no downward pointing happens - unless you want it to - and the magnets should give additional pull :3

Let me know the results if you get to try that before I do XD

Btw has anyone gotten a DV normal skin yet and gotten to check for some resin matches? I'm curious about the shade of NS and if they might make up a good body option for hybrids :3

    39. I haven't gotten to get any extra magnets yet so I haven't gotten to try anything yet. I'll keep this in mind though! I've got other dolls with magnets set up like Dream Valley does it and I've had them pop out after time so if you're still inclined to exchange the magnets you might get lucky if the glue just wears out.

      • x 1
    40. The normal pink is very close to DC's pink and Fairyland's NS. It's a better match for DC.

    41. Congrats on your Ding! Did you paint him, or is that a company faceup? I'd like to see pictures of Grug too, but I don't know if anyone has one.

    42. He has the company face up. It's really nice.

    43. Does anyone have a picture of Dream Valley's pink skin?

I feel like I've forgotten how to use my camera but I got a couple clear shots of Youko during an impromptu photo op. I put the scarf on him for Christmas and I think he's keeping it until the snow actually decides to melt.

    45. I really like Dream Valley and am looking at some of the smaller ones to go with Clorise. I was wondering if there is a way to take Purple's tail off? Not that I necessarily would, but options are nice.

    46. Aww he's adorable! I can't make up my mind on faceup/blushing. I was leaning towards snowflakes, pastel rainbow, or beach-inspired.. but something xmas-y and red really suits them so maybe that! X3

@bajib Purple's tail is strung, so you'd have to unstring the tail if you wanted it off. I haven't really inspected the inner workings so I'm not sure how easy that'd be.

    47. Thanks! My Clorise's wings are strung so I thought Purple's tail would be. I just thought it would be nice to be able to take it off for travel or storage. Thanks for letting me know.

      • x 1
    48. Thanks! They did Foxy up in red for the official faceup/blushing, so I always think that red suits them XD plus I just love red. Snowflakes could go into a red, xmas-y theme I think!

      • x 1
    49. purple came with an alternate abdomen body part so he can be turned into a boy without a tail, but i would find it a chore. the tail section is heavy, more than half the weight on the whole boy... the wee foxy is absolute heaven.

      • x 1
    50. It does sound like a chore to restring. Does he come with the alternate part or do you have to ask for it?

    51. Purple and Ann have the same body; Ann came with it and I had no idea she would! XD
The tail can be rather burdensome, especially with clothes but restringing might be worse.

      • x 1
    52. and @bajib - the extra piece was a surprise to me as well...I am thinking also that so much of purple's personality is in that tail...

      • x 1
    53. I've unstrung purple's tail and restrung him with the other torso piece, and while it wasn't much of a chore I did have to buy a shorter elastic for him because otherwise he was too floppy. full disclosure though I'm an idiot who couldn't work out how to knot the elastic well enough so there wasn't too much lmao

    54. I did the same with my Ann and need to shorten the elastic as well. But I also suck at restringing.

      • x 1
    55. Thanks for all the advice about Purple's tail. I, too, am an idiot at restringing so that could be a problem. I worry that the extra weight in the tail would make him hard to handle. But I would really like to have a smaller Dream Valley with the slight weirdness about him - not too candy box pretty. Any chance of pics of Purple or Ann with human body?

    56. I've found that the tail really helps to balance him, and makes posing even easier for me - and that's saying something because I'm just awful when it comes to posing (it's why the majority of my collection have obitsu bodies). XD

There definitely is extra weight because of that tail though. I think it's more of a you'll have to see it in person to decide for yourself sort of thing.

And goodness I totally blanked that they sent a human torso! I have some fantasy bits and a floating head that might work...but that'll be a bit more of a frankenstein project. Don't mind me, just talking out loud.

      • x 1
    57. I swear I bought Purple for that tail :XD: Its definitely some weight but I've enjoyed just playing with it. It has made getting measurements for sewing a little awkward but I think I'd have an easier time if I could get my Purple's head off easier than I currently do so I wasn't always worrying about chipping her faceup. I think my only real complaint about the tail is that I don't have any good doll chair for Izumo so I have to use my only doll stand, and the tail is in the way so she has to stand at an angle.
