oh no i was really hoping the horsman would be a 40-50cm doll so i wouldn't want him but he is huge and perfect unfortunately i won't be able to get the money to buy him in such a short time so i hope lots of other people do so i can live vicariously through them lol

 

totally agree 1/4 might have been easier to resist
one of my universes is spawned from the horsemen mythology, though none were part horse so far LOL
as tough as big horses are to come by, this is an interesting option. such graceful lines as always and i love the niello resin it's gorgeous.
i might be doomed again. Dream Valley might as well just live in my wallet.

Coming in here to ask about resin matching and the horseman. I told myself to get a grip on my layaways but here we are.

If I get him at all I'll only be able to afford the body at the momebt, but I'm curious about what resin matches what? I have heads I'd like to put on him - Little Monica (white or normal), Switch (any color), Volks (any color), Soom (grey, newer) and Luts (white or normal) and was wondering which of their skin tones would match any of these? If any?

I'm totally new to this company and can't find much information on matching these, so I'm sorry for asking! I'm still researching on my own.

I can take a picture of the same headcap with recent Volks normal later as well, since I don't know if anyone's done that previous. There are also a few comparisons with DV white if you dig through the references forum though.

 

I've only WS, PS and a light grey from Dream Valley, and none of the other ones you want to match but Switch RW & NS/PB.
DV's pink skin is darker than Switch rosy white and not a match to NS/PB.

however, DV's standard white is almost identical to Doll Chateau and DollZone WS (a creamy tone), there might be more variety of comparisons for your other WS to those.

He'll be in grey though, the Niello color is pretty, but... I'm not into it's price tag.

He'll hopefully go nicely with my grey Heliot.

well, i'm in for the horseman. i really regretted not getting Scar, and also the 1/4 size wolftaur
so, not this time.

 

So I just saw the massive discontinuation on Instagram.
According to BJDivas, none of the bodies shared with non-discontinued dolls are going away - but Z7, Qing, and Cecelia/Belinda human are the only dolls offered on the B56-01 body. I've already emailed BJDivas to find out if the B56-01 body is going to be discontinued, because I want one more.
Dream Valley! How can you do this to me?
Also excited to see what new stuff they're going to create.

 

Update: per BJDivas, the B56-01 female body is NOT being discontinued.

Hi, is it official that all the bodies will keep being on sale even when the dolls that were sold with that body got discontinued? The bodies are still posted as products in all the dealer's purchase catalogs, so I would like to know if they are still for sale

 

Yes, trust me, I rushed over to ask the dealers who carry them to make sure. The bodies are staying.

Has anyone who ordered Horseman heard anything about him shipping yet? I ordered mine through Alice's Collection via layaway and the company said to expect shipping notice by next month. I thought maybe someone else might have gotten theirs sooner.

''we are receiving our September orders now~

So, while I do not have a NS Supia doll, I do have a NS DV doll, and DV NS is very yellow. I had an extra pair of DV NS heel feet that I included with an old, yellowed April Story NS body, and it was almost a perfect match.
DV NS matches old, yellow-ish NS, like AoD, Doll Chateau, etc. The light beige with yellow and a little gray undertones? Yeah. It's that color.

Mine showed up yesterday, so here he is in all of his nude glory. (I wasn't really expecting him, so...his clothes are MIA right now.)

i just got my boy today, in the niello dark grey resin. i'm recovering from a hand surgery so i'm not able to put his head on by myself right now, but hopefully i can get some help and take some pictures soon too the body blushing on the niello is a sort of brown/grey maybe a bit of metallic sheen to it. once he is put together, this might be the one that gets to stay out on display in a stand since he's got 4 boxes of accoutrements

 

Yes, Mine is the light grey! As much as I wanted the specialty color, at the time I couldn't justify the price
The grey is gorgeous though! It's similar to Peakswoods grey color. I'm so sorry about your poor hand!! Hopefully you'll recover soon and we can see your lovely boy too!! I'd love to see the Niello color!!

 

I know what you mean, I had wished the niello was available blank and without the outfit, but in the end, I'm very pleased with the faceup. the bright collar, greaves and hobble seem like they could use a bit of antiquing.

the grey you have is really beautiful, he seems to glow! it was my second choice, and I waffled a lot thank you for the well wishes. i'm hoping it's not too long before I can doll-wrangle.

the skeleton scales looks so good blushed. I hope your crown and mask arrive quickly too.
I see a lot of possibility for the skintone being very flexible with various lighting.

 

Grimalkin, yeah he looks like very dark tan, if look from afar on him or on pict. But when u see him near he have a like very cold dark grey color+dark tan, its a bit hard to describe. He like a chameleon

 

i love the shimmer too, and i also like how if i held mine in some lights he was more brown toned, and in others more grey-purple. it is really going to be fun playing with lighting for his pics. don't you love the gold accents on his skin? they did a good job with it, not super bright, more like a highlight. glad to see your pics

I wish I had been in the position financially to have afforded the Niello color as well, but I really shouldn't have even bought him to begin with (whoops! )

DV's next release is a 1/3 girl with rabbit legs, taller sister of Olivia and Safina. Good to see a new 1/3 girl after last year's head discontinuations.

 

I'm already thinking about how to budget to make her fit in my expenses. I didn't get the smaller one for reasons and still regret it, but it's not going to happen a second time.

 

Did anyone keep track of the measurements for the body for Vanora and Adria? I didn't need a bunny body, so didn't order it. I've been looking around for one that could work instead, but I'm not sure I'm remembering the measurements right, and all the listings are down now :/

I hope you do not mind me sharing my hybrid girl here (Fairyland Juri 08 head). When I saw the DV body, I knew it was perfect for my girl. She still needs a little work (tailoring her outfit, making her wings and tail), but I already love her so much.

I find DV 60-cm girl bodies difficult to hybrid, so I'm always looking for new ideas!

 

It’s about time I sought out this thread, though I only have 2 DV body hybrids in this size range (DZ Minas/B56-01, and Soom Heliot/DV Horseman), but I am planning on ordering a full Alter this winter. I’m wondering if DV will be doing a winter event, I’ve been waiting for it.

I did see it, it looks amazing! I would be tempted if I had any need for a giant dragon, but fortunately I am safe.

In other news, my wife and her family sent me money so I could order the Alter I've been wanting for years. I paid part of him too myself, but I am excited. I know he won't make it before summer, but that's okay.

 

I want that so bad!! It could be my girl's dragon form. I know it is going to be a kick to the wallet though.... More like a bazooka.

 

It's so big!! I can't imagine how long it would take to paint!

 

Huuuunnnnnhhhhh I love it. I love it so much. I don't care if it's an engineering nightmare that poses horrendously. I want one.
There's no way it will fit into my budget.

Not sure if the best spot for the dragon is here or the 1/4 topic; how do you even guess what size this guy counts as? I keep checking DV's official site hoping they put up info early. Based on previous releases, do we have any guesses at his price point?

 

I just kind of assumed here, since it looks so big, but I guess it could be 1/4 scale to a dragon too xD

 

Dawn (the griffin) was $700 and this dragon looks even bigger than she was so I’m expecting close to $1000 at least if not more. Puts her a bit out of my price range but she does look incredible.
