Dolpa 28 - December 16, 2012

Oct 31, 2012

1. @Ahiru: from what i see on their pages on volks.co.jp there is no microphone included with either doll. also, re: hands, the note is that they both come with SdGr H-01 hand, no other hand is included. that's about all i can make of it... not sure where you're seeing something about order forms?

morisawa yuu does have an extra note on her page which seems to say she is only available for sale at dolpa 28, and at the afterevent at sato, mado, & web sale... creamy mami doesn't have this same note. i am not that familiar with volks afterevents... does this mean normally afterevent dolls are available from sumikas?

2. They could mean the Japanese after event, not the international. That means available on the Japanese website and the sumikas. In the past some limited dolls have not been available at all locations. We can only wait and see, because Volks has been known to release dolls to the wider market. Of course if it is because of licensing, then it will not be available outside Japan at this time.

3. I don't know about other optional SDGr hands, but on Twitter, Volks said that only Yu Morisawa would come with a paper form for Promise(Yubikiri) hand, same like Lorina and Alice had.

4. Melty looks so adorable, but I'll have to pass, maybe I can at least get an outfit.

5. Man, this Dolpa is going to just swallow up my wallet. I want so many things this time.....ahhhhh!

6. Does anyone know which wig in the SD cape dress that Yu Morisawa use? (The brown one)
I couldn't find that volks mentioned the wig type in the picture ;__;
Yu with this wig is soooo cute

I which I could get both Yu and the dress >__<

7. The option form allows you to order the option hands + the promise hand. This was the order form I recieved with my SwD Una.

8. Aah, I really want Melty! She would be my first DD. I wonder when Volks USA will be running the lotto. I haven't had good luck in the past. :(

9. XiaoCream: Thanks for clearing that up! I was guessing it was something about the hands.

10. I just got my guidebooks today. Yay! I'm tempted by Creamy Mami and by both DD but I guess it will depend on the number I draw. Looking forward to seeing some fellow DoA folks there!

Maybe it's me but Creamy Mami looks like she could be related to Heath and the School D head. I think she would make a cute boy too.

11. pris84 I totally agree with you. One of the first things I thought was that she reminded me of my old School D head.

12. Great to know, thank you!
It's not as bad as Hasekura was, but I might not try for her after all... D':

13. Well, I do hope that Yuu Morisawa is available some other way than in person. She's coming home one way or another, but it would be nice not to have to fight on Y!J. :(

14. St. James - Her smilie mouth is love! I'm anxious to see how they are releasing her too.

15. Well if she proves to be Dolpa only, then I'm safe from this Dolpa. There is no way I'm going to pay those inflated second hand prices.

16. I wonder if Volks means that there will be limited (e.g. fewer than normal) quantities of Yuu available at the actual Dolpa hall. In other words, a forewarning to set expectations that you're going to have to be *really* lucky in your number draw in order to bring her home day-of.

17. Volks never hints at how many of a doll will be available, but by saying Yuu is Dolpa only that is an indication that there will be fewer available than a doll with multiple AE releases. :(

18. I'm going to this year end Dolpa too! For now I'm safe after the Tokyo Boys and Girl onslaught. Hopefully neither of the SDGR girls appeal to me in person :D

19. both yuu and mami are available thru volksusa ^^
forget the exact price but yuu is a little over $1300 and mami is a little over $1400
checked myself at the store today.

20. @bjmommy ahhhhh thank god, haha. I really need yuu in my life :p

21. Ksusha, thank you for the pics. I think they look even more adorable in these photos than on their official website xD.

22. I'm so happy that I dont really care for any of the dolls in this dolpa. My poor empty wallet is safe.

23. Oh no!! Yuu is actually hypothetically maybe obtainable! I feel worse! At least if she was Dolpa only I could give up with some dignity!

24. Where can you find them on Volksusa? I looked everywhere on the site for mami.

25. VolksUSA hasn't made the official announcement yet. It takes them a little while to get the webpages prepared, but they did confirm their availability to those of us who have inquired. :)

26. Thank you St. James. I have some awesome friends that offered to get Creamy Mami for me from the Tokyo Dolpa, but it's so much easier for everyone if I can get her on Volksusa instead. Anyone work out how close the exchange rate is between the doll's Japanese and US pricing?

27. I have a random questions and I apologize if this is already stated somewhere:

Do Kanon and Neon come full-set? Sometimes the YOs come full-set and other times they only come nude.

28. AmoraSeth, both Yos come nude this time, but with wig and with a form for some optional parts if I got it correctly :)

29. Thanks!! Ah yes, I see that now - oh Google Translator, you are a life saver.

I am glad to know that they come with the wigs, I really love Kanon's little curls.

30. If it's actually 81 yen to the dollar in person, then she'll be less expensive at Dolpa ($1295 including tax) but not by much.

31. Has anyone mentioned that Volks will be present at IDEX in Orlando FL in April of 2013? I would love to find out more about what they might show there. It looks as though they will have 3 booths.

Jill

32. jilllamyre, I haven't heard anything about Volks in Florida. Hope you'll keep us posted!

Has Volks announced when the After Event for Dolpa 28 is?

33. The AE is on 12th Jan. next year ^^

34. Thanks! :) I'm going to Japan this December so I wanted to make the most out of Volks events while I'm there.

35. thank you for picture of creamy magic, she looks like cartoon, she's beautiful

36. I am also going to Japan this December! Are you going to the Dollpa too?

I am so nervous this will be my first dollpa and I even don't know how to manage, I know there will be a three lines at the entrance and I have to join the Sumika one to get the dresses!

But what about the bingo? I don't speak Japanese but I am learning the numbers, so could I play it? And what about those rock/scissor/paper I've heard about? I'd be able to do that too? I ordered the bento with my volks news I hope it is yummy <3

37. Hey! I'm going to Dolpa too! I've only been to one other Japanese Dolpa before and I was very, very overwhelmed. There will be 3 lines. One for the limited dolls, one for the limited clothing & shoes and one for the dealer's room. Last year, they held a lottery in line for the dealer's room too. So even if you arrived early, it didn't matter. Apparently that was the first time they did that. I think it's to discourage people from coming so early.

Bingo was ok without understanding Japanese. They hold up a big board so you can see which numbers are drawn. Just remember to take your guide book to the bingo booth to get a bingo card to play (they'll clip something out it to know you have a card). The Dolpa I attended, if you got a line (vertical, horizontal or diagonal), then you jump up and yell Bingo. You come up and get to pull a string. The string is attached to a prize. As Bingo goes on, of course more people get a line. If there are too many people and not enough prizes/strings, then that is when you play rock/paper/scissors (if I remember correctly).

I ordered Bento too. I've never had one from Volks before. :) I assume you ordered a guidebook?

Are you bringing a doll?

I'll be hanging out in the Dealer's line. Hopefully I'll see you there. I'l be sticking out like a sore thumb with my blonde hair. :)

Oh ... and if you are going to Tenshi no Sato in Kyoto, you need to make a reservation first.

38. Yup I got the guidebook!

Yaaaay now I am sooooo excited!!! I am going to be the other blonde girl jumping happily around her husband in the sumika line with a YOSD Chika in her hands! We should totally meet up at dollpa! It would be so nice to be together!

I will only be staying in Tokyo so no Tenshi no Sato this time, but I am already so overwhelmed I am going to a dollpa! And I'll be going to tenshi no sumika for sure! Are you bringing a doll too?

39. If you're going to be in Tokyo, you should check out Tenshi no Mado in the Harajuku area, maybe! I'm not sure what else is different about Mado vs. Sumika, but they definitely have more FCS options, so maybe they have more stuff in general? anyway if I was in Tokyo I wouldn't want to miss it, so figured I'd mention it to ya... :p

If you guys get any cool stuff at this Dollpa please post pics! there's so much nice stuff being released this time :)

40. Tenshi no Mado? I didn't even know that existed! i am going to do some research. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

And I promise a lot of pics, I've always been seeing the dollpa thanks to pics of other people, so It will eb amazing to make my own this tame and share them with you!

41. I'm sure we will find each other! I'll have my YoSD Kuuta with me. He's my official traveling Yo! hehe And I'm thinking of bringing my SD17 Shiro. He'll likely be in a bag until I get inside and after the madness is over. :)

I definitely want to check out Tenshi no Mado, monozuki! Do you know if you have to make a reservation like Tenshi no Sato?

Does anyone know what this is? Some sort of Christmas event at Tenshi no Sato and Tenshi no Mado?

http://www.volks.co.jp/christmas/#cont_mado

http://www.volks.co.jp/christmas/#cont_sato

42. Sorry, I don't know! I took a very long break from dolls and only discovered the existence of Tenshi no Mado about a month ago, so my familiarity with it and with Volks in general is pretty... nonexistent haha. My best guess would be that a reservation is not necessary though... from what I remember Harajuku is a pretty happening area and it seems more likely that they have a straightforward storefront there than a hidden invitation-only showroom... but I could be wrong! If someone else knows, pls chime in :p

I took a quick look at those links for you though, and it looks like you are correct, they are running a Christmas Event.

The event includes special "Coordinate Model" dolls that will be displayed in the store and are first come first serve, and also a special FCS event where you can order SD girls with the Origin Body. They also have Christmas Gift Boxes available which are like mystery bags / fukubukuro. And of course holiday themed gift cards / wrapping / a photo space for you to take pictures. And one-off models of course.

Looks like the main difference wrt the event at Sato vs. Mado is that Sato has Tokyo Tower themed kigurumi Yo-SD sets, which are also first come, first serve.

edit: hmm oops maybe this post is getting a little off-topic. I guess here's a few pics Volks has been posting of Mami and Yuu that are keeping me starry-eyed and waiting hopefully for the afterevent in January, haha:

https://twitter.com/volks_doll/status/271924526634397696

43. Thank you for the pictures: how I envy all those who will be able to take part to this Dolpa! I wait for the after event and keep my fingers crossed.

44. You don't have to make reservation to visit tenshi no mado, it's just a really nice store and show room with a photo space floor. Definitely a must visit :) (I am not sure about the event tho, there might be limited space in the store?)

45. Thanks for all the info, monozuki and Myth! I'm definitely going to check out Tenshi no Mado when I'm there. I'll probably go on the 15th when I arrive.

I'm really excited about this Dolpa! And a little surprised by no SD17 or SD16 girl release. I wonder if Volks is scaling back or just being conservative because it sounds like this is there 40th year as a company in business, so wondering if they are planning more surprises all year round?

Looking forward to seeing a few people from DoA at Dolpa! :)

46. There are actually six Volks showrooms in the greater Tokyo area, including Odaiba where the Dolpa is. The closest Tenshi no Sumika to the Dolpa is a very short train hop away at the Lalaport Mall. Others within easy train commuting distance are Harajuku (Mado), Shinjuku ALTA, Akihabara, Yokohama, and Tachikawa. You could go to all of these in one day if you wanted, but... as most of the stores are open from 10am-8pm, you'd not be able to do the Dolpa and the stores on the same day.

Tenshi no Mado is a Super Dollfie-only store, which means they don't have Dollfie Dreams or the DD Tenshi no Koromo clothing lines there. No reservation is required. They have a photo space, exclusive FCS options, a bunch of doll displays, and a shopping area up on the second floor. If you go, the entrance to the shopping area is *outside* up a staircase from everything else, so don't miss it. To get to Mado, you have to take the Takeshita-dori exit from Harajuku station, walk about halfway down Takeshita dori, then walk uphill through a residential area to reach it. It's a solid white building, so you'll know it immediately when you see it.

The Christmas Fair is being held all of December at Tenshi no Mado and Tenshi no Sato, the two Super Dollfie-only stores. It's a winter celebration with exclusive items you can only buy during this christmas season, and they're also having different SDs and other events available throughout the month. There is a schedule on volks.co.jp.

47. Wow... Thanks for all the info. I still don't know when I'll be able to visit Japan with all these dolls standing in line... But the information you all gave are excellent! ^^ *saving all data*

48. Thanks for all the info, monozuki, Myth and Holo's Apple Tree! That is highly welcomed info!

Holo's Apple Tree: is there any place with the adresses of those sumikas? As I will be doing some tourism around those districts I'd like to stop by in as much as I can!

Now onto the Dollpa! I've received my booklet today, YAY! and it turns out it is in perfect Japanese which I can't read! So I have like a ton of questions, I will be very grateful to anyone who can answer them! Actually I think I am going to post the already answered questions I have for Pris84 or anyone who is planning to go there, it may be helpful!

THANK YOU SO MUCH to dear Elphsnt who has helped me with this useful info!

0. Anything important?: I strongly recommend taking water, coffee/tea/energy drink and rice balls. At every convenience store you should be able to find rice balls wrapped in plastic. They are easy to eat standing up and quite cheap.
1. So I get to the place and what do I do?: There will be three lines. 1) Limiteds (sign in English and Japanese) 2) Sumika Items (sign in English and Japanese) 3) General Admission (dealer part)
2. Can I has a One Of?: You can enter. Please understand that winning is very rare... often, people will buy ten guidebooks to then enter their name for a particular One-Off. Also, please note the time of the One-Offs drawing and listen for your name. It will be pronounced using Japanese sounds, so it will sound a little strange, so it is important to listen carefully. <3 To buy a One-Off: a) Complete the One-Off form in the back of your books. It is best to do this before the show. b) You put your entry into the box with the number of the doll you want. c) The name is chosen that day and the winner pays and can take the doll so anyone can enter. There is a spot for a Volks card number, but that is not important for you, so please ignore that. And, please use your home country information. You can enter your name for as many guidebooks you have.
3. BINGO!!!!: Find the Bingo card booth and get your Bingo card (give the person your guidebook and they will stamp it and give you a bingo card). (Pris84 information, thank you <3) Bingo was ok without understanding Japanese.
4. Private photo site: It seems there will be a nice play to make photos. A 60 minutes turn costs 3000 yens?
5. Cloak service: will cost only 100 yens! And will make easier walking through the dollpa.
6. SD Quiz game: Could I enter to that? I guess no because you will need to speak japanese!
7. Lottery & Questionary: I already found my questionnaire in my booklet. Imagine I can get to understand it and answer it with a japanese friend. What do I have to do then? How are the winners announced?
8. Stamp the chance!: Could anybody explain this to me?
9. Dolly Doctor: You can get to the dolly doctor for various services like changing eyelashes, putting kips... but What does ◆ 瞳の取替え mean?

Well that's all for the moment! I'll post some photos of the guidebook if anyone is interested, just ask (I'm doing them anyway for a friend!). Sorry for the bunch of questions, this is going to be my first dollpa and I don't know if there will be more, so I'll be trying to do as much as I can!

49. Yes

You can enter, but yeah, you would need to speak Japanese.

You can fill it out in Japanese and I believe you put it in a box that will be there. Then the winners will be decided later via a lottery after the Dolpa.

Okay this you do in steps.

1. You collect stamps which you receive for every 10,000 yen you spend.

2. There is a "lottery exchange place" where you exchange 5 stamps for 1 lottery ticket.

3. There is a box to put your filled out ticket.

4. The winner will be announced on the stage.

It means eye exchange.

I have been to Dolpa before (and will be going this time as well!) but I don't usually participate in the events. Its usually just a big shopping trip for me ^^;;...but anyway I read over the information and told you what it says, so I hope this helps!

50. I googled this and yeah, looks like volks is on the exhibitors list for Idex :D

51. OMG! Thank you soooooo much!!! I am so thrilled I will be able to participate in that much things! I don't care if I win or not, just participating it will be enough for me, hehe!

52. Hello everyone!

We're so happy to see that some of you are planning to attend the event in Japan and that you are excited for the Dolpa!

We just wanted to drop a quick line and let you know that we made an official announcement regarding the items VOLKS USA will be offering. Please check it out here!

Remember, if you have any questions at all, please make sure to email them to us directly as we may not get to questions posted here in a timely manner.

53. So excited to be entering for Miss Morisawa tomorrow! :D

54. Mami is super cute. She reminds me of Charlotte and School C mixed. I wont be entering this lottery, no funds unfortunately. I love love love Kanon but again I'll be sitting this one out. I will say, I am still hoping for a re-release of Lorina/Alice if Volks is listening. Not to mention I just received my Vol 4 preorder with Yori posted for sale for those who purchase the book, she is to die for!

55. I might get the book how much is Yori?

56. Time to pull out all my lucky charms when I enter for a little Neon. n___n Good luck to all those who enter! The SDGr girls this round are really precious. :aheartbea

57. She is the same price as the SD-13 girls $823.00 usd you just have to buy the Komame Lil'Custom Vol 4. She has the best default face up I have ever seen. Preorder last til March 31st. I am hoping once the holidays are done I can con the hubby into buying her for me :) There are also hands available in the preorder.
