I'll pipe in by saying... I hope they don't come out with a SwD Luna. Because, I am already saving for my dream girl and she has a painful price-tag.

Dolpa is always a Volks only event. Please do not bring dolls from other companies.

fireflytrance - I saw you post at the beginning of the thread that you might go. That would be so much fun! Do you think that you would go to Sato too? I'm picking up an FCS boy there and having an Omukae and would love to make a party of it with friends.

 

I would love to go but it recently got decided my family is having a big reunion in NY in June. I think I'm going to have to put it off going until December (or maybe August.) Its too bad, it would have been tons of fun to go to Sato together!

I just found an announcement for a doll exhibition that will be in Harajuku at La Foret at the same time as Dolpa and posted a news thread about it: http://www.denofangels.com/forums/showthread.php?p=4431685#post4431685
Even if you are only in Tokyo for one day for Dolpa, since the exhibition is open until 8pm, if you aren't too exhausted, you'd be able to see it as well -- plus do some lolita shopping at La Foret.

I am so excited that Dolls Drug Kingdom will be in the exhibition!

 

Ooh, thanks for the link! If we're not too exhausted after Dolpa, we should try to go. Although, I fear most everyone else at Dolpa might get the same idea, lol!

 

We're arriving in Tokyo on the 28th, so we're going to go to the opening on the 29th, since they said that limited items might be available. Harajuku is always a good place to start off our visit anyway.

 

I'm going to be there too since I have to go to SCC in Tokyo on May 3-4. After that my friend and I plan to visit Sato in Kyoto on May 6.

I'm been to Tokyo for several times but this is the first dolpa for me. Really exciting!

The Fall/Winter one moves around quite a bit more and can range through out the the first 3 weeks in December, but the Spring one is always during Golden Week so moves a lot less.

Hihi, I would like to confirm that the DP21 Guidebook will be out in all Volks Sumika stores on 28th March 2009? They can be purchased outright in the stores and also online from that date onwards right? Cos I have a fren going Japan in 1st week of April, if so, I can prolly get her to grab a copy from me ^^

 

Sorry, Volks Stores are accepting preorder/reservations of the guidebook as of the 28th of March. It didn:t say when the guidebook will be out.

 

The guidebooks will be out April 11th. I can't wait to see what they're going to offer this time around~

But I didn't see any mentions of Dolpa 21 on that page so I might be wrong. Volks is being such a tease on the new DD blog, showing us pictures of props in progress, demo wigs and outfits, but not the actual dolls!! it's like torture, but a good kind

I just saw the dolpa 21 guide book is available on sale but when I tried to buy it online, they said it can't be sent overseas

surely this can't be happening, I need them! My air tickets are booked

 

As far as I know the books can be purchased at the door, so don't freak out if you can't buy the book ahead of time.

 

You can buy it at the door but then you can't line up ahead of time for LEs/the Dealer's Room or the Sumika. ^^;;;

Usually finding the book in Japan is not so hard unless you come in very very close to the actual date of the Dolpa. I'm planning to get mine when I get to Japan on the 23rd. ^^

 

I am thinking if I should purchase it when I reach which is like 1st May which is just a few days before the event and I am not sure if they will sell out then. Alternatively, I am thinking of purchasing it online but I just want to confirm, the DP21 Guidebook do not ship overseas? If not, I really have to trouble some frens staying there currently to help out on this >_<

 

I have gone for the last 2 Golden Week dolpas. It was easy buying the book the first time round at one of the sumikas even though I got to Japan only 2 days before dolpa. The 2nd time round a friend who was based in Japan helped out and I was told there weren't so many booklets on sale then. I will be getting to Tokyo on 1st May 2009 and that will be the first thing I will buy if they don't ship the booklet overseas

 

Volks just emailed me to tell me they do ship the dolpa guidebooks overseas. The not shipping overseas bit was a technical error on their part and they have rectified it.

 

I just ordered my guidebook!!! Can't wait for it to be shipped XD

 

I don't know if anyone else has noticed, but the Dealer's page is now live on the DP21 site. I always find that it's fun to go through the list and decide who I want to go to first. I'm heartbroken that Channel Toy Box won't be there though, because I was looking forward to getting something from them the most.

 

Oh I'm so curious about the new dolls! I wish I could be there,hopefully in the future

 

Are they going to Doll Show or neither event?

I'm getting my guide after I get to Japan, they never seem to sell out and I arrive over a week before. ^^

However I did book my hotels in Tokyo for that part of my trip.

 

I don't know if they will be at Doll Show, but there's nothing on their site about it yet. I'm just kicking myself that they had a booth at the Kyoto Dolpa and even had a lot of nice, inexpensive things, but I figured that I could get things from them myself at DP21, so I didn't arrange for anyone to pick something up for me.

I'll be in Tokyo on the 28th and am going to buy the guide first thing the next morning.

We booked our room in Tokyo a couple of months ago, but waited a while to book a ryokan in Kyoto and were surprised that a few were sold out already. However, we finally found a very small, nice one that's near the station that had vacancies. We've also booked for Fukuoka.

Well, Volks just thoroughly caused a 360 in my doll plans.

Tsukasa was one of the first 3 dolls I ever fell in love with, before I knew anything. ^^'; And I swore if they re-released him that I would have him.

And maybe re-releasing Jun will make my vague far-off desires of making a Jun boy that much more plausible. >3<

 

Well, I can say that a decent chunk of the current collection is going to have to go.

If that isn't what I think it is, Volks, you are truly masters of evil.

Wow! That is exciting news for a lot of people! It would also mean that I'm off the hook as far as dolls though, because as gorgeous as they are, none of the Tokyo Boys (or Girl) has ever "spoken" to me.

If it's just Tsukasa, I'm definitely safe~ But until the full release is announced, nothing is ever certain. Still, if it is Tsukasa or Jun that's totally awesome because I know a lot of people have been wishing for a re-release.

I wonder if it is indeed a Tsukasa rerelease, or a new Tokyo Boy character release. Tsukasa's silhouette is the logo for the Tokyo Boys storyline, so it might not necessarily be a rerelease of him. There is still a character mentioned in the story that has yet to appear, which is Jun's friend Ami.

 

If that's the case, I may still be doomed.

Mmmmmnnnnn~ I'm actually going to be in Japan during that time.. I wonder how much my friend in Aomori would strangle me if I tried to get back to Harajuku for part of it before I flew back out to the U.S.
