Dolpa 20 (December 7, 2008)

The International website only does lottery now. People were writing programs to refresh the page under the previous method of first come first served and that was causing crashes on the Volks website.

 

I don't know... didn't the logo say "Dolpa 20 + 10th anniversary"?

We voted on so very many things in those surveys and despite the re-releases, there are a lot of doll sizes we voted on still left out aaand there's new stuff in this Dolpa.

I'm inclined to think they've still got something else up their sleeves.

(Or maybe I just want Tsukasa that much)

Anyone else have thoughts on this idea?

 

This makes me so happy it's crazy. (Not happy that people did the whole scripting thing to get dolls, but happy that Volks changed it from being a race to something a bit more fun and equitable!)

 

Thanks! I had heard that they were but I wasn't 100% since they still do it first come first serve with limited clothing.

 

Usually, after the actual DP is over (before the AE), Volks USA has this lottery entry things. You put in your order for all the items you want to try. You do this on the Volks USA website.

In a week or two, they will post more details on the site.

After you entered your order, then you get a confirmation and order number, then you wait until the date that they announce the winner (then your credit card is charged)

 

I already read Japanese forum. Yes, Kurumi is coming!! In addition, Miruku (White skin kurumi) will also come though it's dolpa place exclusive.

I have a little series of questions revolving around the after event *I hope there is one*

Okay, what if I entered the lottery for Kurumi and I tried like a crazy person to get her on the Int. website. If I ended up somehow getting her on the int website AND winning her in the lottery, could I cancel my lottery entry or would I have to "sell it"?

I'm basically asking if winning lottery entries can be canceled?

Also, I asked this question earlier, but I didn't get a response. I know that you can "split" a lottery item and, refund people if you don't win. However the rules state that the person running the split must be keeping a substantial portion of the doll. If I wanted to split Kurumi and only keep her head and maybe the wig, would that be okay? I consider the head, while not a large part, to be substantial in value at least. Figured I'd ask that here before taking it all the way to the mods.

Do you think that the price for Kurumi or Miruku will be ridiculously above their approximate 900 USD price? I hope not...But she's such a popular (and limited mold...)

I'm pretty sure that you can't cancel a lottery entry once it's been submitted... the authorization for the transaction is already approved on your credit card

 

You can not cancel a lottery entry (it should say so when you enter on the lottery form as well).

For your other question, I would PM a mod to be sure, that is what I did when I split a lottery doll before.

Mmm...what a pickle. I've wanted Kurumi since I first saw her face in a fuzzy Dolpa 16 scan, but I have rotten luck when it comes to drawings and lotteries. I always have.

 

Yes, but if they are anything like the past lotteries, you will know whether you won the US one before the International After Event one happens. I have always known by the After Event if I won through the US lottery or not. Hopefully it will be like that this time too. ^_^

 

Why not put in for both lottery and After Event then sell your extra Kurumi at retail price to a hopeful member if you happen to win two? I'm sure someone will snatch her up if you offer her for sale, so you'll make yourself and another person happy.

 

I have the same problem too...as much as I love Iris, I can't afford her. Besides, I rather have my Renee.

Oh, I hope not!!! Hopefully they'll have enough to satisfy everyone, then the price shouldn't be so high. There's no way I could make it to the Dolpa, so I'm really hoping that a kind-hearted seller on DoA will have mercy on me and let me buy Miruku fora good price.

I'm thrilled to see the re-release of Kurumi! I was so bummed when I wasn't able to win the One-Off for my friend, and I also felt bad for my other friends who also were dreaming of this doll. But with this re-issue, it just goes to show that doll dreams do come true if you wait long enough! Also I'm happy to see Lin & Shinn again too! Lin was the first Yo that I had to have, and I know I'm not alone in this! LOL! Since was able to get Lin, I may have to try for Shinn this time. Maybe I'll be getting a new dolly for Christmas afterall! Ahhh the joys of shopping year round for everyone on my holiday list....my gift closet overflowth! Perhaps leaving enough in a dolly fund for me!!!! Woo-hoo!

Needless to say I almost DIED when I read the news this morning... Not only is Volks re-releasing the one and only doll I have EVER regretted selling and that I miss terribally But they are releseing 2 verions of her!!!! OMG I almost had heart faliure this morning

Volks has really outdone them selves this Dolpa I must agree..... All of the dolls are gorgeous and tempting in some way shape or form.... LOVE the new SD16 girls, and the outfits on Tohya & Kohya.... But especially the sexy outfit on Iris.... LOVE IT!!!!!!! Even the DDs are temping!!!! That tan girl is to die for!!!!!

The greatest of luck to us all.... and I may be a bit bias but Cammy baby I hope you and I both ger our Kurumi.... And everyone else of course.

I'm so happy!!!! A Kurumi re-release. I've been waiting patiently hoping and hoping for a re-release and we finally have. I just hope I'm not disappointed in the lottery.

 

Because I certainly don't have enough to pay for two, and I can't pre-sell an item.

 

Is johanna white skin? if so...then i am doomed! I love kurumi too but err i can't spend that much money!

 

I really think you will know the results of the VOlks USA lottery before the International. I have known for the past 2 years before the After Event whether or not I won the US lottery and I am pretty sure the same goes for everyone else. We just have to keep our fingers crossed that they do the same thing this time too! If they do, then you can't enter for one lottery until the other is over with and you won't get yourself in a bind money wise. Don't worry too much, just try to stay positive!

 

Oh, I hope you can get Shinn, Juli!!! Do you have any names in mind for him? I'm trying to think of something "planty" to go with Lily.

I think the white version of kurumi and the kohya are cute, but not tempting for me. None of these dolls are saying buy me now XD which is good. Im very picky though but I have a feeling volks is going to get me outfit wise >< ^please no puredrops, please no pure drops X.x

I had such a strong feeling kurumi would be re-released this dolpa I started saving early :-) Sadly my luck has been against me recently, but I desperately hope I can win her in the after event, I’ll be utterly devastated if I can’t. I hope everyone is able to get their dream doll!

Is it like a lottery as to who is able to get what? I've never taken part in any of the Volks Dolpas, they seem very confusing to me, lol....and scary!

 

You are welcome! I do want a dollie, but I am scared to even mention it as I am afraid to get my hopes up. I really want a Kurumi for my Luna. Oh how perfect it be to have my 2 girls together at last! But, money is going to be hard and the competition for her even harder! If the gods smile on me then maybe I will get lucky! I am just happy that people get a chance to get their girl again.

 

It is never really known how many are released from Volks. The lottery is to see if you are able to buy the doll of your choice. It is a bit scary especially when a doll you love is at stake, but I think it is well worth the risk.

 

Volks never release the amount of limited that they will have.

As for getting the items, the method differs depending on the outlet you use. In the US, you can get limiteds from VolksUSA through a lottery. Once you win the lottery, you pay for the item and wait a certain amount of months to receive the doll. On the international site, before it was first come first serve. Just recently they inputted a lottery system. At a live Dolpa, sometimes it's a lottery... Other times you just go in line to pick up a ticket to pay for the item that that ticket is for.

I think that since MSDs are their big sellers for FCS, Volks feels less inclined to release LE MSDs. Look at how many F18s there are out there. But I have a feeling we may see a third release of Toppi, she is the mascot of the LA Sumika after all.

 

Oh goodness, it's a Lin re-release! And here I thought I was done with dolls for the year. *lol*

I'm rather sad there's no MSDs in this Dolpa, but maybe they will have some cute clothes at least. The Yo-SDs are cute, but I'm pretty happy with just my Kun atm, so I think I'm going to hold off for a while. I'm holding out for a girl MSD (or SDC) as my next doll... until then just continue bonding with the ones I have

That's a very good point, Izayoi!! I've never thought of it that way before. Another Toppi release would be lovely, though I'm still praying for Elsie and Nagisa!!

LE white varies if I remember correctly.

 

Aaah... I'm completely and utterly safe from the dolls. Kurumi and Miruku are cute but me and girls don't mesh. Thus that rules out the SD16 girls as well. And while Kohya and Tohya are gorgeous dolls they just aren't on my 'favourite molds' list for Volks... and Lin and Shinn were my least favourite Yos. <<';;; Hopefully there'll be something in the clothes I absolutely love!
