Dolpa 20 (December 7, 2008)

Not a Linn re-release! Volks always does this when I have no money. I got disappointed that there were no YOs at the Volks USA web-dolpa so I ordered a Little Fee and now I'm so disappointed. Linn was next on my list!

Iris and Johanna reminds me a little of Olivia and Amelia fused together. I'm leaning more towards Iris though. I love her visual look. Kinda retro. =3

Also in love with Mikuru and Kurumi. I'm a sucker for dolls with crowns. XD

 

Looks like another re-release of Saber, but a dark Hollow Ataxaria ver. I know which doll I'm gonna put in for. !!!!

 

A beauty white SD16 girl FINALLY! But at the same time as a Tohya re-release?! *dies* AND it would be at the one Dolpa I can't attend *shakes her fist at the JLPTs*

 

Actually, Miruku is Kurumi backwards... with how Japanese is written, it is くるみ　(ku-ru-mi) so みるく is (mi-ru-ku). Make sense? I wasn't born to be a teacher.

Good luck to everyone who wants one of these cuties!! It was obvious that Kurumi would be the most popular for the re-release.

EDIT: but yeah, you are right... ミルク (mi-ru-ku) is how 'milk' is often written in Japanese as well... maybe going for a double meaning, eh Volks?

So it is rumored that Miruku is only available at the physical event? That makes since the US just got a US only release and Korea got a Korean only release. I am sure after market prices are gonna be scary! I guess we wont know for sure what items will be available outside of Japan until the International Site is up and Volks USA makes an announcement.

I can't wait to see what outfits they release! I hope it is something adorable. I am also a bit taken back by the lack of MSD or SDC dolls. I wonder if they are going to release any before the anniversary event is up?

I'm happy that volks is re-releasing kurumi again for everyone She is such a cute. I hope to try for Lin and her outfit this time. I ordered the Dolpa 20 guide book and hope to get it next week

Oh gosh, meeeee tooooo.
Although I am seriously tempted by the Yo's... I can't believe that there is a double (sort of...) Kurumi re-release! That must be a dream come true for a lot of people.

Volks seems to rarely do MSD stuff any longer, outside of FCS and School dolls. In terms of LEs, Yui is the only new headmold released in the last three years (Toppi was the last one before that and she was from 05). It makes me sad that apparently they're not very popular any longer, because it is my favorite size from Volks :/.

Anyways, I feel VERY lucky that I don't like any of the dolls this time around. (I can't say the same for outfits -- OMG I need those outfits Shinn and Lin are wearing!) But I am very happy for the Kurumi rerelease because I have so many friends who have wanted her badly over the last two years. Good luck to everyone going for her! At least this will pull her secondhand price down a bit .

I have been waiting for her ever since I lost that first Kurumi lottery !!!!!! ok now whats my chances of winning her ...... ? So these will all be offered in the USA site right? EEKKKSSS

LOVE ....! now I have to keep my Limited Rose who was standing out in my family of hypers as she will need a friend.

This is a dream right? but I just knew volks wouldn't be able to resist releasing Kurumi forever!!

AND LINN too! one of the few Yo-SD I have been wanting!

 

oh wow I love kurumi's outfit. >_> I may just have to put in for her in the lottery..... I wonder how much the faceup will differ from the original.

 

They have released SDC, such as Renee this time last year and Ryu in August. Plus, there were some MSD's such as Nagisa last year and Enn (which was very limited and hard to get I believe). ^_^ I guess just the proportion of new minis to SD's and Yos seems a bit off. But, I do love the SD girls and Volks has done an awesome job with the large girls and yos this year.

Ah, but I wasn't counting the more mature SDC (I like MSDs for their childlike proportions) and both Enn and Nagisa are old sculpts that were rereleased. I want new LE MSD heads! I think that ever since they introduced the Yos that they have completely eclipsed the MSDs in the "cute children" popularity category, and that's why we don't see them much.

Looks it's just going to be Kanu Unchou for me. She is absolutely perfection and I love how they've posed her just like her manga and anime covers!

Yes I agree about the Yo-sd focus actually its put me off Yo-sd a bit so many of them.

I do think they should come out with some very cute MSD releases for dolpa.

Usagi665, I swear volks has ninjas that spy on our most secret doll desires. I have the same dream doll, but I planned for my White Cat Chris girl to be modded(Really what I want is an SD16 SwD Chris girl, but I'll probably never get to Huis Ten Bosch to order a dream FCS, so this will do XD).

Anyway, yeah, to say that Volks did a good job for Dolpa 20 is an understatement. I was hoping for Rozen Maiden, but....I wasn't prepared for this!!

 

Am I crazy or is there something vaguely Vampire Knight-esque about the new Toyha and Koyha outfit's? They're not exactly the same and they're obviously not mean to be character dolls, but the outfits definitely remind me of Vampire Knight or at the very least the outfits On/Off wear in Vampire Knight videos lol

I sort of like Iris and I generally am not fond of SD-16 girls though I would want to see more pictures.

 

Saber alter is gorgeous! Damn, I'm not a DD fan but how not to be tempted?

Ah, I see where you are coming from. I do agree with you too. I really wanted a mini as my next dollie and there have not been many new sculpts in the that area. I like the way the MSD look with my larger girls (a bit more in proportion then the SDCs). I love Yos too, but they have eclipsed the MSDs a bit, haven't' they? Well, lets keep our fingers crossed for future releases!

On a different note, I am dying to see what we are going to get a chance at! I love the big girls this time around. They are to die for! I really am dying to see outfits and shoes too. I love new dolpas!!!

 

K-kurumi... I might have to dig a big hole in my wallet... T_T

The two sd16 girls are really gorgeous, but they're the only one's really calling out to me (thank goodness) I really love the DD's this time around, they're very beautiful. I'm going to wait to see better pictures before I decide if I want to try for one or not.

Ah! It's a WHITE SKIN Kurumi! I've wanted a BW Volks doll for . . . ages, and always wished I could remake my Kurumi in BW via FCS like I remade my Nono in sunlight. Oh, it is so tempting to try and "upgrade" her now! Unless Volks USA offers her (or someone wants to trade Kurumis with me, lol) I think she will be out of my price range though. The USA recently got our own exclusive releases at the online Dolpa and Volks USA didn't have the DP19 exclusive Yo's, so I won't get my hopes up.

But what wonderful offerings they have this Dolpa. I am really impressed by the SD16 girls, they are so PRETTY! Its hard to tell from the blurry little pics but I may be falling for Johanna.

Volks has really outdone themselves, this is such a great mix of new stuff and rereleases.

 

I'm so doomed- I need Kurumi! She's always been one of those dolls I wish I could have but would never shell out the crazy after market price for. My sdc Ren really needs to sell now! XD

I think that Kurumi might be available through VolksUSA, but Miruku is only available to those actually attending the Dolpa.

I'm sure she'll be available through Volks USA, the Volks international website, as well as through the two Volks retailers (Kerbey Lane and We Love Dolls).

Volks USA holds a lottery, the International website does first come first served(but this may change hopefully), and you need to get in contact with Kerbey Lane and We love dolls in order to enter with them. I don't think the white skinned girl will be available though, since she's Dolpa only. Hope this helps!
