Dolpa 20 (December 7, 2008)

The International event usually ships out right away, while the Volks USA group usually still waits - atleast that's been my experience. So if you purchased through the international site, then you'll likely get your doll soon. If you're through the Volks USA site, then you still have a bit of a wait.

 

That just doesn't seem fair. :p *shrug* Oh well.

 

The problem is all the Volks USA stuff ships together in a big crate, on a boat. And then it has to go through customs. So it takes a long time to even get to LA and then it has to be processed and mailed out from there. That's my understanding, anyway.

If you win it in the AE, it ships right to you from Japan. Of course, you also pay top $$ for EMS shipping that way.

 

has anyone got an e-mail from volks regarding that Kurumi will be arriving earlier then planned?

Volks sent me an email yesterday saying Kurumi will be arriving with all the other DP20 dolls. Sounds like they are expected any day now.

Does this include anyone who had full services? My Kurumi was ordered with full services (sanding, ect) Volks stated on their website there was an extra wait time for full service orders. I am hoping sooner than later.

 

I don't know... my girl is coming with no services (I thought that getting those would lower my chance of getting her XD I know, I'm lame)

Well I ordered all of the options so I'm just going to assume Kurumi will arrive later than people who ordered her without. I haven't recieved my shipping notice yet but when it does, it'll be one happy day!

Do I have to worry that my credit card was charged for Johanna in mid January and I still don't have any shipping notice or tracking number from Volks?

I was charged in December for Kurumi and I still haven't gotten a shipping notice due to extra services for her but I don't think you need to worry. If you are concerned though, I'd call Volks tomorrow just to confirm that everything is O.K.

 

Are you having any of the Satogeri services done to your Johanna?

 

Maybe Volks is still sending them out. I know with other orders it sometimes takes hours between when they start sending out the notices and when they finish. If I were you I'd probably give it the rest of the evening to see if they send you one.

 

Its hard to be patient for another month because of the Satogeri stuff, but I have to remember how pretty and perfect she'll be once she gets here.

Nakitama and the other people who are currently talking about their dolls shipping ordered through VOLKSUSA (or Kerbey Lane or WeLoveDolls who are officially sanctioned resellers for Volks.) Unless someone in NORTH AMERICA kindly put in for the VolksUSA lottery or Kerbey Lane/WeLoveDolls allotment (which I sort of doubt since you said your card has been charged) it is impossible you are getting one of the dolls people here are talking about shipping since your location is Germany and VolksUSA/Kerbey Lane/WeLoveDolls do not ship outside North America.

It sounds like you won a Johana through the On-line International After Event on January 11. You would need to talk to someone else who won a doll through this event to see when they are shipping, much like people who are waiting on pre-orders of dolls ordered through the actual Dolpa. In the past the On-line International dolls have sometimes shipped before the VolksUSA dolls and other times a month or so behind. The dolls pre-ordered at the actual Dolpa tend to ship a month or so after the VolksUSA dolls.

Thank you so much! They both came from the USA lottery. I won Iris myself, and my mom won Kurumi for me. I'm so thrilled - Kurumi is my holy grail doll, but I never thought I could afford her.

I am so sorry to hear about the crack on your poor Kurumi You should send the pictures of the crack to Volks as well. Maybe they can just replace the chest piece.

 

Volks is great at taking care of things like that. Just email them. I had an issue with a doll hand before and they replaced it right away. I am sorry though as I am sure it was a shock. I hope everything works out.

I'm still wondering how she got the crack though.. because the shipping box was fine, her box was fine (a corner had just a tad bit of damage but nothing serious) ... so its confusing me on how she got cracked :/

 

I wonder if it was related to extreme cold or heat? The weather has been super nutty lately. When I got a girl from them a few years ago, one of the hands was damaged very badly. They were really nice, I sent the hand back to them, they sent a new one. I did just what you did and took pictures and emailed them. I really hope your experience is as good as mine. Since it is a chest I think they should be able to replace it as all the ltd girls use that same chest. Please let us know how it turns out! She is very pretty btw ^_^

You know I am not sure, but I think her head is the same size as Luna's (Luna's is not really the same size as other Volks SD girls). If so, then SD16 wigs work really really well. I love seeing Kurumi in different wigs, I can't wait to see what you and other new owners put their girls in.

 

haha.. I'm still trying to figure out what size she is.. because DD size wig.. I don't know how big their heads are (never even seen one in person..) so I can't even guess... ^^;;

I have both (here is a comparison pic)


The head size is VERY similar as you can see. They fit Volks wigs well (Ran wig & Luna wig I tried on them, I don't have Kurumi wig) and Leeke 8-9 with a bit of struggle (I ordered a 9-10 so when it arrives I can let you guys know about that).

Leeke world wigs fit Kurumi and some 8-9 inch wigs work as well. I have some DD wigs they fit more or less some adhesive helps it stay on better.

 

*squee* My DD Saber is home now! I just have to try to be patient and finish up work for the day. >_<

The one I am getting is supposed to be delivered today. ^^

UPS called me up to warn me someone needed to be home between 8:00 am and 7:00 pm to sign for her. ~.~

 

I am in the same boat as rkold - I've been waiting for UPS to deliver my Johanna all day.

 

I had to wait all day for my Kurumi as well, she ended up being delivered sometime around 6:30-7pm :/
