Congratulations to all of you who won what you wanted and hugs to everyone else.

I think that Volks should send a notice to everybody including the people who lost. It might take more time and resources but it will save their customers a lot of anguish. It's upsetting when you don't know for sure if your email has been delayed or if you haven't won anything at all.

I hope Volks will also sell the outfits through a lottery system for the online event in the future. The way they did it this time was very unfair since they didn't have a starting time announced. Only a person glued to their computer screen every minute of the day stood a chance of winning a popular outfit

 

Yeah it was a crazy after event. Not well planed on the timing of it. I hope they won't do that next time it was not very fair for everyone. Hopefully they state a time next time, it was hard for me too, to check all day at work.

 

i still find it very odd how there are still no known winners for Kurumi. In any case I am about to purchase a head >< ... hoping this transaction will go fast and smoothly for my sake haha @__@ good luck to everyone else in attaining your dream doll!! >__<

 

I have been reading this thread for days. It does seem very odd. I won Kurumi from the USA Lottery(well, I didnt win my hubby did but he isnt on here) and not one person won since. I love Volks but it makes me sad how limited everything is.
I wasnt into this hobby when some of the dolls I really want came out so I have to go with the aftermarket. Since some of these dolls have been made Volks has improved there resin with UV protect and such. I wonder will I ever get a brand new Liz. Will she ever be brought back and how many thousands will she cost when she does. I doubt I will will another lottery since it is so rare. I never even try for the outfits.

Yeah, I'm not sure what was up with this AE. Not that I've been in this hobby long enough to speak from much experience ^^;;;, but I know at the last one I went to, some of the limited outfits and shoes were chosen in line just like the dolls. This time it was dolls only, and I heard people around me complaining about having to wait for a long time before you could even physically see what outfits might still be left. Why they didn't put the outfits on the lottery sheets like the dolls for the online AE I don't know O_o;.

Also, the only dolls you could physically get that day were Tohya and Kurumi. Shinn and Linn were preorder and Iris and Johanna were online-only. Pure speculation, but I get the feeling Volks is behind on production or something. It felt like the organization was better at my first AE than it was at this one.

You`re wrong there or there might be a difference in where you go to, but we had Shinn and Linn both.

I do agree on the production thing though.
I kinda wished they did Miruku already and shipped her *sigh*

But alas, I think it`s all about the Ambassador event :X

 

Also, who's to say the winners even know that this thread exists. I just found this thread now and it was just a fluke that I happened to see it because my friend had subscribed to it, otherwise I would have never thought to look for it..

 

Good point mistress, they my not know. DOA is very large to navigate through.

 

I've finally received a reply from Volks International and I must say, they are very, very polite. Considering how my e-mail made me sound like I was being passive-aggressive ( very polite but raging-inside type message, which was not i was going for at all lol but it just happened to sound like that ).

Hope it will give "peace" to anyone who is still disturbed by not hearing from any Kurumi winners. There must have been only 10 available or 5, which is why we havent heard from them.. since this is after all : an "After Event".

Its actually nice to see that they have at least replied it so politely and it seems sincere too. ^^ And maybe as what zelie has mentioned earlier, Volks should also send a notice to the people who lost the lottery as well, thou it might be more difficult in terms of resources. But by doing so, they can avoid much speculations or disappointments in the future. Its worth considering I would say X3

edit: By the way, I've long given up hope on the lottery and got myself a Kurumi on Y!j today Hope she'll be coming home soon ^^ To all those who have lost the lottery, don't give up! And those who have won the lottery, Congrats once again!

 

I was relieved to see Volks's reply. Thank you nurie for sharing the info with us. I agree that it'd be nice if Volks could reply to all lottery entries, won or lost.

Anyway, I've got myself a Lin from Y!J last night in quite a fair price. (Considering my country's import tax is outrageous, it's not much a different for me if I got her directly from Volks or from second hand market.)

Congratulations Koda! That was a quick purchase! I am not in love with Kurumi but I would love to see a Kurumi one day! I'm from Singapore, I'd love to see a Kurumi after all this......I hope she goes home soon.

I bought the Mauve down jacket set from ebay. I don't have a choice because that jacket set is the only down filled jacket in the market for 60cm doll. All other winter coats on the market are not down filled.

I found an alternative to the Japanese sword. The alternative is a miniature Katana with a real blade forged like a real sword. It would fit a 60cm doll.

I won't overlook the fact that a doll company did not announce the time of the sale and made me waste office hours monitoring their site.

Congrats on the mauve jacket! It looks gorgeous, and so your little boy will not get freezed in the cold weather where you are.

Too bad Singapore doesn't allow real blade forged weapons (license needed). If not it'll be really cool.

 

My outfit is caught in customs &#3237; _ &#3237; the clearance fee alone will be almost half my outfits cost.

I feel I need to give up on owning a kurumi myself, I’ve hoped for her for so long and tried on numerous occasions to win or purchase her and my luck just isn’t with me. Due to the current weakness of the pound it is impossible for me to win her from J!y and then to pay the shopping service fee’s after that. I think after two years I might just have to give up.

JPY is extremely high now against SGD, and it really made my wallet bleed. But then, I think of her price on Y!J previously, I will comfort myself that this wouldn't hurt as bad T_T Don't give up! Maybe one day, Volks will re-release her again. Its really hard to say.

Just realized there was no Volks Dollfie-pin with my Kurumi.. is that normal?

 

The pins only come with the standard dolls, not the limited editons.

 

Mine is at JFK! Oh, I can't wait! And now there'll be no mail for the next three days because of the holidays! Ack!

 

Well I think you might be misinformed there Izayoi Because all of my Volks babies are actually Limited Models, and most of my Volks limiteds came with the pin. But like Ahiru my gorgeous little Kurumi laked one.... But my Amelia, Yukinojo, Williams, even my Alain came with a Volks pin inside the paperwork package

I think its for limiteds that came out in 2008 and after. I know Bianka, Rose, Ryu, Eden, and yo Kun did not come with a pin. The stores in Japan used to give a heart shaped pendant with your dolls name on it but in the US we never got it:

No, I got a pin from my Amakusa, and I purchased him in November of 2007. I'm not sure when the dolls started receiving pins.

 

Izayoi is correct. Two of my Limiteds (Okita Souji and SDC Ryu), bought from VolksUSA via lottery....neither came with the SD pins.

 

That's wonderful! I thought mine would be delayed due to the holidays but I guess that wasn't the case. Hopefully she comes to you quick and safely!

ALL of my Volks dolls have pins and they're ALL limiteds purchased either from a Volks dealer or Volks USA (with exception to my Liz who was purchased second hand but still had a pin.)

 

I just got an email from Volks Japan that they charged my credit card for my Johanna and they say, "Within a few days we will deliver the merchandise. Please look forward to it."

Did anyone else get an email? Does that mean I should be getting a tracking number?

 

I remember it is a notice email, later on you will receive a tracking number...

 

But does that mean I will get my tracking number in a few days or much later because from the sound of the email, it seems like in a few days I will get another email with the tracking number?

 

Yeah, that's how it usually goes. They charged. You wait. Days later, you get your shipping confirmation. It can be 3 business days or one week. It varies.

 

Thanks puremilktea & Midori! Wow ... I guess I am just a little confused on why Johanna would be shipping when I don't even think the Pearl's made it from the US Dolpa. Weird.

pris84, I'm also surprised that the Johannas are apparently shipping so soon. I too received the email from Volks saying that my credit card has just been charged for my International After Event Johanna, even though Volks website said she wouldn't be shipping until late February. Well, if she's really shipping now, it's a great surprise!

 

I wonder if that means Kurumi will be shipped earlier too...? haha I wish ^^;

but maaan seeing everyone's Kurumis arriving is making me so anxious for my Kurumi to arrive~ D:

 

I've gotten pre-2008 limiteds with pins before... so it's not true that limiteds don't come with pins...

Personally, with the infrequency of when I do and don't get a pin... I'm beginning to wonder if it's random, lol!

 

I guess I misunderstood. But I thought Hinaichigo was a 2008 release, but I suppose she was released late 2007 with arrival in 2008.

Are they doll specific or just a Volks pin?

The pin batch intended to seem to do the entrance by the identification of events of the owner SD as a substitute for proving it in early period of SD release. But there is a member's card which makes it now and the pin batch became a kind of omake. You do not have to be upset even if you lost it.

Wheeee! My Kurumi arrived this morning! :-)

 

I got a confirmation email from Volks for my Saber Alter, it says they will deliver her in a few days. I thought she was going to be mailed out early march.. Oh well! i'm so excited to be receiving her so soon!

Hmmm... My guess is that maybe (crosses fingers) that means, they're shipping from Japan now and maybe I'll get my shipping notice from the Volks USA store in a week or so. I am totally guessing on this one, as I have no idea how it really works. :p

 

VolksUSA always charges early. It usually says on the lottery pages that they'll be confirmed on X day, charged on Y day, and shipped at the end of whatever month.
I was charged for my Tohya the day after Christmas, he still won't be here until the end of February.
