Dolpa 20 (December 7, 2008)

Oct 14, 2008

1. HK side there is only winner for SD16 girls and Saber also got no news on Kurumi, Linn and Shinn. D=

2. I'm confusing now as no one won Kurumi and Lin. Is there any problem from Volks?

I think I won't sleep well tonight until someone tell me the winners of Kurumi and Lin.

I still hope to receive an email......

3. I have e-mailed volks and let them know about the situation.... hoping they will read it and not give the standard reply =\

4. nurie >> T^T We all are hoping for a good reply from Volks to explain why. >_< hope they reply soon!

5. I also want a response from Volks... but It's night there still so...

6. none of my japanese friends (in japan, ordered from the japan site) have heard anything about Kurumi. We think volks is possibly breaking the lottery down into two days? They list the 10th on the site and its about 2:30 am on the 10th there..so hopefully we'll hear something soon.

7. Quick question: does that mean that everyone in japan, who has put in an entry for DD alter, tohya, shinn, johanna and iris has at least won something?

I'm really praying you will reply with a yes to all of those mentioned T__T and no results for linn or kurumi.

8. I got my miruku on wednesday vv

her name is chardonnay :D

good luck to everyone in the AE!

9. Sadly that is not the case. I wrote to Volks asking if the time stated in the reservation confirmation e-mail was the correct one (it said 5pm 10th japan time), or if it was the one on the site (5pm 9th japan time) and got this reply:

"We are very sorry for the confusion.
The information written in your Reservation email was incorrect. The correct date for contacting lottery entrants was by 5pm on January 9th, Japan Time. We are dreadfully sorry but if you have not received an email from us informing you of your win, then unfortunately you did not win."

So I do not believe they split it into two days.

10. As far as I know. Some put in for Tohya, etc and didn't win anything. Most of my friends were after Kurumi though.

edit:
If this is true (not doubting Ahiru, just sometimes volks gets information confused) then no one I know won Kurumi. (including me!!!)

11. Ahiru >> If what you quote is true... then it must be a terrible joke O_O No one on DOA/HK forum/China forum has yet to confirm if they have won any Linn/Kurumi. And this is definitely very very strange.

12. I guess that means we all lost :/

13. wth =( that is insane!! completely insane. i have entered for Kurumi too. i'll just wait a day more before redoing my plans. this is quite sad.. ive been so in love with this girl... :...(

thank you for your reply. ><

14. I actually think that there's something wrong, Maybe a glith or something. So I do believe that We'll get some more correct information when Volks opens again... Because, seriously, they had a lottery for Kurumi, so some must have won...

15. I wish the amount of dolls for each would be disclosed X_X

16. It's weird indeed...but I have a thought: maybe there were few Kurum available at Volk's site and no one here won but other people not subscribed here on Den Of Angels won them.
For Miruku was the same...there were about 350 Miruku at Dolpha but I saw here only 3 dolls in the gallery and if I don't understand wrong one was bought throught yahoo jp. I think that there are a lot of doll collectors in Japan that maybe won the lottery but not so many are subscribed here like us.
This is a crazy though?maybe yes...

17. apparently even in japan... it seems that no one won either (currently anyway)...

18. yep, but we know informations only about people here on DoA...I guess..

19. Considering that NO ONE has heard of ANY ONE Winning Kurumi as of yet, I think you can assume that somethings wrong. Also, There should be at least more than 13 kurumis in the international AE since that's the number of people who are on DoA who won in the USA one.

20. I don't know...but seems so strange because usually Volks is iper-organized and everything is well done...

21. Everyone can make mistakes, and we can't really know for sure until we hear from Volks.

This is a really strange situation though..

22. let's wait then!

23. I think there's still tomorrow to hope for ^^
I wish everyone good luck! That can't be no kurumi at all... unless there's really alot of people entering for her then the probability of getting decreases =(

24. I will post what they have to say as soon as they reply. I have notified them how it is strange that in so many countries not a single person has won a Kurumi. I just wanted reconfirmation that none of the places ive mentioned has won anything so that I can give up hope in getting her at retail price and start hitting Y!J after I've sold more things to fund this purchase. :(

25. We really can't say not a single person has won...just no one we know of has won.
People could be asleep, out of town, at school or work...or just not on any of the doll forums/groups we go to. It happens..and Kurumi was (as far as I can tell) in high demand, so I imagine many people put in for her.

26. Fingers crossed there is still hope to win kurumi, but I’m not sure what to think.

27. I thought the same...

28. me and MVIII had talked of the possibility of no one from the forums or anyone we know have won.. i just thought it doesnt hurt to make it sound like that at least if we can get a "slightly" more straightforward answer from them that there has been in fact winners.. this all just seems like a joke that out of 30 people more or less.. not one of those won a Kurumi.

and yes T_T she is unfortunately in such high demand that i am really regretting it like crazy how i have not took the chance and commissioned a DoA member from japan to put in a kurumi for me during dolpa 20.. im really regretting it so much. :(

29. I agree with this BUT, you have 24hrs to complete the payment right? So I'd assume someone would've already announced they won.

I just think the amount of Kurumi (and perhaps Lin too because we haven't heard of her) is low, and probably won by people who are not active in online communities.

30. I visited the Volks store last weekend and was told that Kurumi had a huge number of people who entered for her in the lottery. I have a feeling the same thing happened for the international lottery. She is a popular mold. I'm hoping some DOA winners will be showing up soon. After loosing the Volks USA lottery I won her through Yahoo Japan Auctions. She arrived on Wednesday:

31. sigh... im really thinking that is what happened.. T___T not knowing just.. is just making it very hard to move on...and ugggh she is so darling x_x congrats to you iza!!! if it is not too much trouble, is it possible for me to ask how much you got her for in total? USD wise? =x so i will know how much i need more or less >< ( and how much she ended in yen )

32. Yeah I think there are a lot of people who don't post on D.O.A and maybe won her. Wow not one person has won yet, probably next time they should take pre orders on her for the after event. Might make it better for more people to get her.

33. Thats what I was trying to say (lol). Just because DoA is a huge forum doesn't mean all collectors come on here, particularly from other countries (korea, china, japan, etc)
I haven't found anyone on the Japan groups I'm in that has won her..but that doesn't mean much.

34. Sadly I feel that the cost on Y!J will be higher now than before the lottery, as there is no longer a chance to win her with volks, but I hope I’m wrong. I tried to win her on Y!J after the dolpa, but was outbid every time.

35. =( i think they MAY have done it on purpose to mark up the value of some hard to attain dolls again to keep people's interest. they released TOO much during the actual site event now that i think about it... ... oh well. :( btw, i never meant this comment of mine as a bad thing. you need business tactics after all. im not saying this is necessarily true and im sorry for going off topic now.

and i really pray it wont be that bad......

36. I doubt Volks limited the number for this reason.

Its possible they didn't have many left to sell. Considering the company and their popularity, they wouldn't need to do this to mark up the value of their limiteds.
Also they wouldn't have anything to gain by driving up the price on the 2ndhand market (which is the only price that'd be impacted by this)

37. Edit: ok ;P i should not have said it that bluntly. I will edit what i said up there. :3

im sorry if it came across negatively...but

well that is not a bad thing, not at all. what i said i mean @_@ all companies would LOVE to have this happen if it means that people will keep going back to them in hopes to win another doll or wait for another doll that is similar to kurumi (doesnt necessarily have to be kurumi).. with the economy as it is right now, this is probably something anyone would loved to have.... have more people gain more interest in new products, still.. i did not mean to say it like its an evil thing.

and they do have something to gain.. like i said, it keeps peoples interest in the company.. i believe this is one of the reasons why limited products ( from any company ) even exist in the first place..

38. They could have released 50, and we may still not know. DOA is the largest US doll forums, so most likely collectors will post here if they won in the US lottery. However, there are many other forums around the world and there are many collectors who do not post on forums at all. Say me for example, I did not post here for several years. During that time I won several rare dolls from Volks and when I came here I found out that I was one of the only ones who won them, but no one would have known at the time as I did not post here (like Suzanna or Kaede). My point being, there are probably lots of people out there who do not post on forums and still win the dolls. Frankly, there are probably thousands of people who are into the hobby that are not on the forums (or any forums for that matter). It does not surprise me that in an international event, we would not know all the people who won. Frankly, since she was so popular, it is even more likely it will not be someone from here or any other major forum.

39. Sorry to hear that you have not heard from Volks yet. I keep wishing you luck St. James. ~Gus

40. Good luck on Kurumi guys & gals. No word from Volks for me, so I am just assuming it was not meant to be. No worries! There will always be another chance at Kurumi and God knows another smiling face will be calling me in the future I am sure. lol

Congrats to all who have won this round! I can't wait to see your arrival photos!

41. Actually, I'm pretty sure that the Japanese (or people in Japan near a Sumika) still have one more chance to try to win her. I'm pretty sure she is also available via the actual Sumika in the stores. ^^;

42. The outfits and clothes , what time it are available?

43. It says after lottery is over you can purchase. The purchase button is clickable now but nothing is available I wonder if they have all been gone already!!!!!!!!

*_*

44. they wrote "The sale of Tenshi-no-Sumika items will begin once the congestion from the domestic Japan limited item lottery entries has cleared up."

45. Yes and the entry for lottery ended almost 24 hours ago.

46. Yes, I know, and I think that maybe they stopped the lottery because they received our inquiries about the limited dolls and they try to make things clearer??

47. I spent such a long time staying up until after 6 am here, trying to get Violet Perfume outfit. In the past, Volks message that it is not available to purchase means they haven't actually put it up for sale yet. If they are sold out, then the message in red says sold out.
It is so different than usual. Most Dolpas I wait until almost the time announced for the sumika items sale, and they have released them early and they are all gone an hour or two BEFORE the announced time. I guess they are tryig a new method this time.

48. any news regarding kurumi or the Tenshi-no-Sumika items?

49. Nothing yet. Man I wish they had a time release on the outfits. It's cool its cool. I'm not in dire need of any of them.

50. I've checked every few minutes for the past ten and a half hours, I’m terribly exhausted and just wish I knew how much longer to wait.

51. Everything just got sold out. <- ...

52. Sumika items are all sold out ... that was fast -_-

I decided not to wait and went YJ =_=

53. In a matter of seconds.

54. I logged into the Volks Sumika items website since 12.30am Jan 10th Japan time, items are not available for sale, I logged out. I check every 2 hours after that, then, I checked every hour. The last I checked was 35min ago (about 9.25am Japan time) and the status says the items are not open for sale yet. However, when I logged in just now, every item is sold out.

IS THIS A JOKE?

55. No way! But they didn't even put the start time to let us know when...

56. Great... I´ve been at the computer for more than two hours checking the page every five minutes and between checking and checking, poof, gone. Everything gone...

57. I don't know about it but Sumika items tend to go like secs for every dolpa AE I tried for. =_=

It's like a flash of nothingness

58. Yeah, I've been stalking it since this morning too. Not that it mattered. Or helped.

I think we just got totally hosed. :| They should do this by lottery too.

Ahhh, and these were all limited too... :x

59. 11 minutes ago items were not open for sale and 11 minutes ago everything sold out, just in the time it took me to click the cart button.

60. Waste my time.
